Played golf at Pebble Beach during the Covid 19 pandemic on May 18, 2020. They offered a special price for the remaining days in May until their hotels open again in June (if it goes to plan). They implemented many rules to be in compliance with the county health and safety protocols and the crew did a great job at keeping everyone safe. We were offered the rare, if maybe the first opportunity at Pebble in recent history, to use our own pushcarts. No Caddies were available due to the safety protocols.

We were the last group on the course for the day so my friend and I were in no rush. Really helped giving us time to take in the experience playing Pebble for the first time. It rained that morning but by our 3pm tee time, the weather became perfect. Loved talking about the golf history at various holes and trying to reproduce some famous shots. Scoring well this day came secondary to the experience of playing this beautiful and historic course. Teeing off at the 18th hole at sunset…well, I’m still on cloud 9 just thinking about it!

Though I’ve visited the course many times when we had our place in Carmel By The Sea as well as attending the PGA Tour US Open and AT&T Pro Am, I’ve never played it. It was my number one course on the bucket list to play. Now I can check it off that list!

Brought a small oil painting I made of the 8th hole and was able to take some photos of it while we played the hole. As an artist, I couldn’t resist taking reference photos along the way for future paintings. This special oil painting artwork of Pebble Beach will be on my wall forever now. So happy I can combine my two passions of art and golf! And I brought my dog Kyle’s collar along for the ride (may he rest in peace). We had so much fun living in Carmel on the weekends, running along Carmel beach just below Pebble and occasionally late in the evening walking along the 10th hole.
