My uncle said 15-20 years ago or so that David Leadbetter thought the swing of the future would be without backswing. I played a round with him while he demonstrated and I was very impressed. Ben Kruper on YouTube is a good current example. A guy using single length irons, ala Bryson, just won our senior club championship going away. I think both methods simplify things considerably and can't find any logical reasons they shouldn't be employed more often! Thanks Bob
Mike Thanks for that validation… For me it requires further field testing… If this nearly 89 year old body finds value, I know the majority of you young bucks would benefit… I will report on my progress or lack of progress… Probably do an on course video👍
I like that idea Bob, but one must establish their position to the ball first which I believe could be done with success. I think I shall practice that a bit and see exactly what one needs to do to make it repeatable. Good thought!!
You dont take a backswing when chopping wood or driving an axe into a trunk. You bring the Axe up, in many cases through a plane that has nothing to do wirh the strike path. In tennis there is no way to determine ball position , you bring the racquet back in readiness. When hitting baseballs to a fielder practice you even let go of the bat with one hand! Somehow the dynamic movement of intersecting two planes works well enough. This could be a fun drill Bob. While walking along towards a ball who hasn't sliced the top off of a dandelion with their ckub head one handed even while walking? You get it almost everytime…..I will bet.
Nice video. If you think about the hands always to the right of the grip, never under or over. Than you can’t go wrong. Keep that feel and just get your body to move along with that relationship
