Paradise Golf in the Dominican | Adventures In Golf Season 4

“I created 11 holes and God created seven.” – Pete Dye on his absolute dream of a golf course in the Dominican Republic.

Erik Anders Lang heads to play the Dye-designed masterpiece Teeth of the Dog at Casa de Campo Resort on this Adventures In Golf, presented by United.

Erik plays the course with local caddie J.J., who’s seen his fair share of good and bad golf over the years.

We loved his story about calling out U.S. President Bill Clinton about his putting stroke (6:55).

But what stuck with us was J.J.’s story at the end of the episode (9:00) about how golf changed his life forever.

Overall, this resort is seriously paradise and the cameras probably did no justice, which is saying something because some of the shots in this episode look ridiculous.

  1. Speaking from personal experience jj is a awesome caddie i was lucky enough to request him when I went and played the teeth of the dog

  2. Went to teeth of the dog two days ago… JJ was my caddie unexpectedly! He was so awesome. Knew the greens to a tee. Highly recommend asking for him to caddie when you arrive to Casa de campo. They don’t have much work cuz of the virus rn

  3. I would totally sit down to dinner and beers with JJ and tip him well and just listen to him talk about his career at the course. It would be worth it for me. He was more excited to caddy for President's than for anyone in Hollywood.

  4. Imagine all the famous actors and people that JJ has caddied for when he only mentions 3 of the most powerful people in the history of the world as ones who stuck out to him 😅

  5. Been really curious about the Dominican lately. Such an awesome location. Curious history. Incredible destination.

  6. I’m so hooked on this series! Flat out amazing! Also, EAL wears a black bay GMT… that makes him the coolest cat in the alley IMO of course..

  7. Yes! You actually showed golf on this one! Loved it! But sad that Pete Dye was alive while filming this but would die before the winter was up 🙁

  8. Always love to see the course where I grew up ! Loved the video too. However, I must tell you a couple of facts. The original name of the course was "Cajuiles", which means cashews in spanish.
There were many of these short cashew trees all around the course. It was only the par 3 hole number 16 that had the name teeth of the dog. The name of the whole course was later changed to "Teeth of The Dog". Finally, it was Charlie Bluhdorn ( Gulf and Western Chairman) and Alvaro Carta (CEO of Central Romana) who brought Pete Dye to design the golf course. Mr Eduardo Lima at the time was an engineer for the sugar mill. He later became minority owner and CEO of Central Romana until he passed away. It is a magical place. I arrived at Dominican Republic drinking milk at the age of 10 and left drinking beer at he age of 18 ! No drinking age back then…. . I love the years that I spent there.
