Dricus Du Plessis has risen to become the 2nd ranked middleweight of the UFC, and has taken every opponent he has faced, making the whole weight-class scared of him. Dricus has now also earned himself a title shot against Sean Strickland, the UFC middleweight champion, which is going down at UFC 297.

Fighters are not just scared of Dricus because of an ordinary domination, because he has actually finished 95% of the opponents he’s faced since the start of his professional MMA career, and his strength and power is something very unusual…

This is why UFC fighters are ACTUALLY scared of Dricus Du Plessis.

  1. I need to correct something. Braaivleis and pap is not a meal for athletes or to bulk. THAT JUST WHAT WE EAT IN SOUTH AFRICA BECAUSE IT'S SO DAMN GOOD.

  2. People tripped out when he said he's gonna actually take the belts to south africa, he's completely right though. he was born and raised and lives in south africa like I do and is the first to actually bring the belts home

  3. While it is annoying, we can't blame non-South Africans not getting some Afrikaans words wrong especially when the common census and online sites only focuses on 1 or 2 meanings from a multitude of meanings.

'Pap' actually means flat, void, bland, tasteless, to name a few, but I think you get the idea. 'Pap' does not mean porridge. Pap is a name given to a 'tasteless' (see the meaning now?!) meal made from maize. It can be made into a porridge by not letting to much water boil away (basically keeping it runny/moist) , or made into a firm tangable almost sticky meal (subject to individual preferences) with gravy and most commonly served with Boerevors (a thick juicy coarse beef mince sausage) [Boer=farmer] [vors=sausage].

  4. South Africans are tough. This is why they dominate in the physical game rugby. It's a culture of putting your body on the line.

I remember when I was in high school, the white schools went through a reformation, because too many kids broke their necks in the sport. These guys were 13yrs old and they look like 19 and they were strong. Massive hands, big bodies and a culture of strength and masculinity. The Boere 'Farmers' as they were called, didn't take nonsense. They were brutal. One smack from a Boer and you would see your ancestors.

Dricus isn't the biggest, he isn't the strongest, he is just tough like his people. When he says 'they don't know what we know' he's talking about that brutal physicality and never give up attitude that you see in the Afrikaaner people.
