  1. Deerhurst is the most overrated course I’ve ever played. It’s nothing special except for the view from the 1st tee (and even then it’s just a few lakes and cottages). There’s no beer cart girls, the turn is nowhere near the clubhouse, and the halfway shack was closed when we rolled by it at like 5pm on a Saturday (middle of summer). The worst part is that it was in brutal shape. I’m talking actual weeds and bald patches in the rough around the greens, brutal mud bogs when the weather wasn’t even bad, and I literally lost a good ball in clover growth in the rough beside a fairway. It’s an absolute travesty of a ripoff for $152.50 for 18 holes.

I’ve played everywhere in the Muskokas and The Ridge at Manitou is by far the best course in this video.

Seguin Valley isn’t even on this list and it’s easily #2 in that area. Very underrated course. The 7th hole there is a PGA Tour level surprise. Trust me.

Never trust golf magazines. They’re all politics and $$$.
Take it from real amateur but serious golfers.
There are plenty of $50/18h courses around the North that are in far better shape and playability than many of the $70-100 courses.

Even Google reviews can be suppressed with money! Talk to people to find out where is a actually good and worth the time and money!
