Perth Optus Stadium had a crowd of 38,600, most of which to watch the Eagles who had only 3 wins for the season. Proud of the supporters.
West Coast did the AFL Universe a favour, getting rid of the Gold Coast Suns. The Suns are a joke, 14 years in the competition and still can't make a finals series. Even Fremantle and GWS (for the record GWS is a team I despise too) both teams haven't won a flag yet, but both teams have made finals series and competed in a Grand Final.
Love the atmosphere of the Optus Stadium. Looking forward to seeing what the Eagles can do after one more pre-season. Who knows, they might reach Hawthorn's level….

It’s simple. The Suns can’t win away games.
Both teams played a good game to watch, but the umpires with their inconsistency could have completely ruined the game, at the end the best team on the day won. Umpire #42 was crap, poor decisions every time.

That is the best game I've seen the boys play in a very long time, even tops the Demons and Derby wins earlier in the season for mine. They played like they had nothing to lose, it made my hairs stand on end! I grant there were a few yips throughout the game, but all in all it was an exciting brand of footy I was witnessing. Honestly, Schoey needs to be the Eagles head coach from 2025 onwards. What he has achieved at the helm in his short tenure has been beyond amazing in my eyes, he obviously is well liked and respected by the players. The future is looking bright, and it won't be as long as everyone thinks before we are contenders again! Go Eagles
Eagles fans are arguably the most loyal fan base in footy, they where still bringing in decent crowds last year despite being woeful

Gold Coast need to win all final games(Essendon, Melbourne, Richmond) to have any chance of making finals.
They also need to hope Port Adelaide and GWS loose all their last games.
Port run home: sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide crows, Fremantle
GWS run home: Hawthorn, Brisbane, Fremantle, Western Bulldogs
West Coast have finally broken their losing streak, coming from twenty-three points down at one stage to upset Gold Coast and possibly to sunset their Finals chances. The Suns STILL cannot win away from home this year (apart from when they were in Darwin) and this will be their undoing. They have now lost three in a row and six of their past eight.
I saw this coming. I really did. What I didn't see coming is that Dwayne Russell was the host commentator instead of Adam Papalia, considering this game was in Perth. Just like Essendon, Gold Coast are out of form and it will take a miracle for the Suns to make the Finals.

The Eagles were persistent and never gave up. Great win full of character.
Wat annoyed me most about this game, was the amount of times the commentary team said “if Gold Coast win this game they'll be playing finals”.
Our 4th win, using that awesome jersey we used from the gather round, a thriller of a game, our team trying their best to win this game, and just to top it off, using one of our old club songs at the end of the game instead of that new club song is just perfect.
