I think there is frustration among the rules officials cause there was a 1 hour delay today. They didnt resume till 8AM and starting round 2 at 840AM. They finished play with a few groups still out there thru 14 holes. They will resume play at 645AM EST. Theres about if I had to guess 1 hour of round 2 to finish. It made Jim and Trevor frustrated. They were hoping to be back on track today. Hell it was a miracle they started at 950AM yesterday morning. They would want a fair way of setting the cut. Its currently 69 players at -4 or better. There are some guys out there that could make that number go highter. It will come down to that cut #. I think we are going to Monday. The storm wasnt as bad as it could have been. So its a win that they dont have to think about Tuesday. We ended the day with of all people Matt Kuchar leading at -12. LOL! Only way we finish is if there is NO I repeat NO PLAYOFF. LOL! Jim Nantz brought that up to Trevor and he started to almost cry. I dont want these players to rush tomorrow just because the tv side doesnt want to go to Monday. CBS has been lucky with the weather they dealt with. Only 1 Monday finish (RBC Heritage and that was a nervous one cause what if Meredith Schieffler delivered) and a 54 hole tournament with a Sunday rainout at Pebble Beach.
PGA tour comms on X at 903pm est put out the plan for tomorrow. 645AM EST-745AM they will compete round 2. 750AM-945AM They will tee off 1 and 10 for round 3 in groups of 3. For the 2nd time this season first since Phoenix, they will not, I REPEAT, will not tee off. Its going to be TIGHT. 3s take about 5 hours to compete a round. The last group should begin round 3 im guessing about 4pm est. They will have to go to Monday with the final group probably getting 14 holes in the final round. I would expect by the front 9 in the final round the final few groups will be getting exhausted. There are 69 players currently -4 or better. There are still guys out there that could make that # HIGHER.
