Hi, I think you are confusing “private” with members clubs. Members clubs will all welcome visitors, so you should have no trouble playing. For example, Ballybunion, which you described as private is absolutely open to visitors. Hope this helps.
You can play Ballybunion. It may be private but they have visitors green fees. It’s €300 for a round on the Old Course.
