Glamorous Toronto Golf Club Wedding | Paula + Mike | LUMIX S5
How gorgeous was Paula and Mike’s Toronto Golf Club wedding?! This was one we were so looking forward to for so many reasons, especially once it was confirmed that Ontario made a move into “stage 2” earlier than anticipated. I remember talking to Paula and Mike right at the beginning of 2020 and feeling very excited about what they had planned. They had to reschedule twice but third time was a charm and the day surpassed all our expectations.
It just feels so good to be filming “full” weddings again. Not only is there a little more to film, but we get to have more collaborative relationships. There are more vendors to work with and most importantly, I’m not filming solo. We have an insanely good team of second shooters to bounce ideas off and it’s great to have a fellow team member who you know has your back on a busy and stressful day.
The forecast leading up to Paula and Mike’s wedding was rain, rain, thunder and rain, before a miraculous cloud clearing in the morning. Funnily enough (or not) , It’s been a running theme for many of our weddings so far this summer. Kinda like Mother Nature giving us one last “gotcha!” before couples can actually get on with getting married.
Anyway, we had a picture perfect day, other than a brief 45 minute weather “sneeze” which meant moving the ceremony from the lawn to a sheltered area. It was no problem though, the rain plan (pulled together by the Juniper Events) was so good that it didn’t actually feel like a rain plan and the ceremony was as beautiful as it would have been otherwise.
As for the rest of the day….it was just fun. The vibe was so relaxed with plenty of time to explore the grounds of Toronto Golf Club and get ALL the footage we could have hoped for. Sometimes portrait sessions can feel a little rushed and it makes SO much difference when we just have an extra half an hour here or there. I think some couples forget that the portrait session isn’t just about photos, it’s about spending time together away from the hustle and bustle of a wedding. It’s time to be intimate, share jokes and have an experience that’s about the two of you.
We know some of our subscribers are mostly interested in the way we shoot and what we use, so for those folks here’s some info for you. We shot with 2 Lumix S5 cameras (hand held all day, other than speeches) and a Fuji XT3 on the gimbal. Lenses used were Sigma Art 50mm, Rokinon 85mm, Fuji 18-55, Fuji 50mm f2 and Viltrox 23mm. All shot in the HLG profiles and coloured with the White in Revery Adagio LUTs.
A big thanks to the amazing vendors who helped us make this film. You should check out their work:
