Western Canada’s Top 10 MUST PLAY Golf Courses.

With SCOREGolf’s recent Top 100 golf course release we thought it would be fitting to post our top 10 golf course list in Canada (from courses we have played AND filmed at). These golf stops are centred primarily in Western Canada but each and everyone comes highly appraised by BCGC and ScoreGolf. As it turns out, we’ve filmed 10 of the top 100 courses so it was a fitting time to make this top 10 video… however there are a couple of courses that didn’t make the top 100 list and maybe could be there.

Here’s the full ranking:

1. Greywolf Golf Course (18 ScoreGolf) – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDZ-2hvKulo

2. Sagebrush Golf Club (13 ScoreGolf) – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5IjDdOXtmQ4

  1. I would have had Tobiano ahead of the Ridge Course. The reason being is that Tobiano's greens have a more undulation and it forces you to be a little bit more imaginative around the greens. That said, the Ridge is definitely more playable. It would be difficult to have a 'bad day' at the Ridge, whereas Tobiano can get nasty

  2. Loved this list! Need your reviews on Banff and Jasper this season!!! Can we expect those this year?!?!?! For us out of towners, we need your expertise! Planning our trip for late Aug next year, your feedback has been immensely helpful, Ben!

  3. Great video, very professional. I can't get my beer league buddies to step it up and play these courses. I'm playing more than I ever have but Shannon lake is getting boring 😆

  4. Predator Ridge Resort is a little overrated IMO…I think 90th for the Predator course is a good ranking for it….Ridge course is better, but to be honest, both of those courses are one and done for me….happy to have played them, but won't be in a rush to get back there…Talking Rock was awesome! Love to see it coming in at 62…that's an impressive leap…and I really enjoyed Tower Ranch…that back nine is special! Finally Tobiano is my fav course in BC….ranked 90th in world by Golf Digest….might be best championship course/price/accessibility course in North America….Overall good list though bud…well done!

  5. Great list there!!! I have played most of those over the years and played sagebrush before it shut down years ago and what an experience. Greywolf is on my bucket list, but living in Langley is quite the drive lol. I love Toby and Talking Rock and would have them higher. Love your course view vids and keep them coming.

  6. love the top 12 list…i've only played 4 on your top 12 list (Wildstone, Tobiano, Gallaghers and Greywolf). It's taken some time but i came up with my top 10, and i'd say 6-10 could be shuffled around, but the top 5 are definately in order. My list (of BC courses) is also based on the condition, pace of play, value, fun factor (and of course hot dog quality, which is huuuuuge) on the day i played there…
1 – Greywolf, 2-Copper Point, 3-Salmon Arm, 4 – Gallaghers, and 5 Nk'Mip . 6-10 in any particular order are; The Springs in Radium, Wildstone, Golden, Bootleg and Eagle Point.

Tobiano didn't make it cuz the day i played it, it took an hour to get breakfast, some tee boxes were more dirt than grass, the fairways were full of unreplaced divots and had a lot of damage, the greens were slower than the ones at Bighorn and Eagle Point where we had played the days before, and there were no bleeping hotdogs on a Sunday in June !!!! It was actually a huge letdown.

On the list to still get to, Big Sky, Tower, Predator, Sagebrush, andTalking Rock…

  7. Elk Ridge should be on the list for score, after the reopening and finally some love for Waskesius course on there. It should have a mention. It’s just as good as Waskesiu minus not being a Stanley Thompson course.

  8. I'm a little surprised Sagebrush was ranked so high on the ScoreGolf rankings but I don't disagree with it.
I would love to see if your list would change if you filmed at Chateau Whistler, Victoria Golf Club, and Bear Mountain.

  9. Are there any Stay & Play Golf Packages for those courses so we could play several courses in a few days? from Seattle

  10. Great list. Most of these I've played and are also high on my list. I still have to get out to Tobiano. If I had a hidden gems list it would have to include The Bear (OKGC), The Rise, Salmon Arm GCC, Black Mountain. I've never really looked at Sagebrush, but now you've got me curious. Its a bit of a hike but not too bad. You need to try Kananaskis CGC. It's almost impossible to get a tee time there, for a good reason.

  11. I never understood why sandpiper doesn't get love from score golf. I live In Merritt and would take it over Sagebrush. Just my opinion. Must say I love you ranked Talking Rock so high between the price and the golf it's probably the best deal around. At the end of the day I think we are very lucky to have so many great courses in western Canada. Keep up the great work can't wait to see where you go this year. Maybe some hidden gems in the Caribou.

  12. Really enjoyed watching your videos. I'm from London, UK, visited in 2019 and managed to play Furry Creek, Talking Rock and Sandpiper. Loved all 3. Visiting again in July with my son this time and planning on playing a few others on that list. Will be staying in Canmore for about a week so thinking of playing Banff, Greywolf and Kananaskis. We'll be in Kelowna on 15th &16th July so weighing up whether to play GC or TR along with Predator Ridge?
Be good to catch up on the course if you're around!

  13. A comment from someone from the States! We have visited the Kootenay region several times, going back
August 2024. Have you played these courses?
    The Springs in Radium.
    Shadow Mountain
    Trickle Creek

Gotta agree, Grey Wolf and Stewart Creek are great courses! Played the Gary Player course in the past,
our group did not seem to have the vibe for it that you had!
