Xander Schauffele won the Open Championship on July 21, becoming the first golfer in six years to win multiple majors in the same year.

Schauffele’s win at Royal Troon, where he shot a final round 65, also marks the first time in 42 years that Americans won all four majors.

Xander became just the seventh player ever to win at least two and finish inside the top 10 in all four majors in a season, a list that includes golf’s all-time greats: Jordan Spieth, Tiger Woods, Tom Watson, Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player and Arnold Palmer.

Schauffele, who has not missed a cut in 2024, will move up to No. 2 in the Official World Golf Rankings, behind Scottie Scheffler.

He said the Open win was special, as both his parents were able to be there.

Xander will now head to Paris as part of Team USA to defend his gold medal from Tokyo.
