Non golfers,
The difference on that first shot between thin and full skull š is maybe 3 mm. Thin, which Sam did execute, would be maybe a few mm below the equator of the ball. Skull š would have been basically making contact right on the equator of the ball.
Having that fine of precision consistently is rare in golf.

You should tee the ball up on your first shot and just try to rip it, hit up on it a bit to take off spin and itāll fly. You can even set the hands forward at address and close the club face down and itāll work. Easier to find the middle of the face than to try hit the equator of the ball with the leading edge š¤·āāļø
