In this episode, our resident high handicapper travels to Blainroe Golf Club, currently ranked as the 96th best golf course in Ireland by Irish Golfer, and it’s not hard to see why.

Located along the cliffs of County Wicklow, on the east coast of Ireland, Blainroe boasts absolutely spectacular views of the Irish coast and surely one of the best back nines in the country.

In a change up to how we do things here at High Handicapper HQ, we have enlisted the help of subscriber and Blainroe member Niall, to help Jamie navigate the course. In a channel exclusive, Jamie has a card marked on camera so this round will go directly towards his handicap, What can he shoot and how does that affect his handicap? Tune in to find out.

If you’d like to feature on the channel and be part of an every shot video, simply send me a DM on Instagram @DiaryofaHighHandicapper or an email to Diaryofahighhandicapper@gmail.com with your Home Course and when you’re available and we’ll take it from there.

  1. I think you should look at your swing on this video and look at the other guys 2 swings at the end of the video, and just look at how close you are to the ball (gap between your hands and your body) compared to the other guy, my game drastically improved once I realised this and started standing a bit further away from the ball which made me lean over more, keeping my weight over my feet and helped pushing weight towards front foot on the follow through.
Brilliant video though and the course looked great 👍🏼

  2. Just getting back into golf after a 15 year gap. Enjoying your videos, very relatable and the courses look fab. Any recommendations on a decent course that is quiet enough for beginners with midweek availability? Not ready yet to be playing on a busy course confidence wise (I'm Wicklow based)

  3. Really enjoyed this video. Get in touch if you want to chat further on the journey. I’m a member of a south Dublin GC, just want to understand how you set up this video with Blainroe

  4. Great video, good to see some actual high handicap golf showing the good and the bad for those of us who are in the same situation.

  5. Loved this and looking forward to the next one! It’s genuinely like I’m watching my own journey through this silly/great game! Keep them coming! Congrats on the additional weight on the left hand too! 🎉

  6. Beautiful course and I was cheering for you mate! I started counting on 16 to figure out what it would take for you to break 100! Well done!!! Congratulations on getting married also🎉
