Tbh, I really miss my old Ping Eye 2+ 1 iron! Had a 1 iron of one make or another in the bag since I was 16 but took it out as it was getting a bit harder to launch after 48 years playing! 4hybrid/7wood (course & condition dependant) do the same job but I miss the hedge hopping knock down shots! I might just have to sneak one of these graphite shafted driving irons back in my line up!
Yes, I would like to see the difference between the shafts. I use a Ping G410 3iron hybrid this is great. Easily carry it 220 but flight gets out to 240-250 regularly.
The correct shaft is THE most important part of the club, as it’s the “engine” that drives it. Also the person doing the fitting is also important as I went to a very well known company but the person who fit me for my driver did a horrible job. I went back and got re-fit and gained 40 yards of carry distance because I was fit with the WRONG shaft!
I picked one up about a month ago and played 3 or 4 rounds with it. I'm not sure the shaft is for me as the shaft I loved in the fitting was later found to be out of stock. It goes 190-220 for me I don't think the evenflow 6.0 80g s hybrid shaft works consistently well for me although it's very accurate. With driver in play or should I say in spray I shoot between 95 and 105. I recently played a round where I left all my woods in the bag for the whole round. I tee'd off with this club and hit long fairway shots with it as well and shot 85. I'm not sure the 317 driving iron can take all the credit or it just highlights how bad my driver play is. At this point I don't think anyone could turn me into a good driver of the ball. So far then this club has been a godsend. If anyone is as bad as me with a drive I'd give this club a whirl.
only a hunch, but I think you will not have it in the bag 6 weeks time. I had a 2 hybrid (callaway pro) , I was fitted new shaft etc. my son now uses it , it was the best club in my bag .I have a 5 wood now, had it for months and it’s staying. I do think no matter what level you , shaft fitting is mandatory. Only my opinion, not being negative in any way.🇺🇸
I play with guys who buy the latest and greatest every year. Proud, proud, proud they are of beryllium, titanium, carbon fiber putter with optional Rodney Dangerfield target finder and don't squeeze the Charmin grip.👍🏌️
I still use my Yes! Marilyn, Cleveland 588, TaylorMade bubble shaft 3-5-7 wood and Ping wedges.
Our scores are exactly the same. Our handicaps haven't moved more than a few tenths over 20 years.
Yes, when they flush their new $1,000 Parsons Golf driver the ball sure flys pretty. There is so much spin on their lithium, balata, aerospace balls the greens beg for mercy.

The club is perfect it's your swing that needs some work.🙄
Yes I would like to see the differences between that club with the different shafts.

I got fitted for one of these about 4 months ago. It is 100% my favorite club in the bag, and my fairway finder!!!
Did you ever tell us the shaft specs? I may have missed it but you were going a bit fast on the verbal!!!

That is some weapon to have in the bag
I have this shaft in my 20* driving iron and also in my hybrid. Super solid feel and results

James, how do you define low, mid, and high handicap?

Our scores remain the same 🤷
Hey James I see your still using the takomos just wondering wat shaft you went with ? Cheers Tim deacon
confused on why I would want a club that keeps finding the bunkers!!! I have other clubs that do the same thing! 🙂 🙂
