Then fitting review, repairs and reviews

[Music] we’re going to talk about Golf Club repairs a trip that I made and then we’ll get right into the meat of this thing because you know what I’m in a bit of a mood [Music] today welcome back to M golf shop this is what in your drawers golf talk why is it what in your drawers because old Club makers and Club Fitters are tremendous packrats and I’m not any different it’s about what’s in my drawers in my shop okay and what we do is we talk about Golf Club repairs Golf Club reviews and golf club fittings all so your scores can go low alrighty this has been one busy freaking week all the way from last money to now and you know I’m just in one of those dog on moods where everything breaks whether it’s little or big and it just absolutely sets me off and it set and it started with the battery in my truck dying out of nowhere normally I get a some kind of indication that it’s going bad and I thing just went went and it was done I was like and of course I’m up at 5:30 in the morning thinking I’m going to go golf and I didn’t because I need to change out a battery well Sunday of course Sunday everybody opens late so now I had to wait after I get this thing pulled out and had to put it and then wait to put it back in got all that done and we took off you know and that was the that was the highlight of the day Mrs mcol and I we went back down to the Augusta Distillery there’s something about the word Augusta and it gets a it gets me anyway we went down there and there’s a place called The Beehive we sat out there and we ate and this was kind of me being photographic and that was one of the things that was on the table actually they made a really mean uh a really mean reuben sandwich it was very very good by the way and they had a couple of drinks on there of course I’m trying to find the drinks and the drinks did not transfer over because my computer and my phone fighting yet another thing for me to go just go off on and uh you know why why is that so hard to transfer a photo from an Apple phone to a PC it’s just they might as well just shove a fork in my eye this is so painful alrighty so anyway we finished up the uh we finished up the Tour by or the Augusta town of course Augusta is where George Clooney’s from if you like his movies and we went to Buckner or it’s austa but Buckner is their is their thing turns out that Augusta will only be doing single Bearer releases so if you’re that kind of guy there you are last but not least I’m not going to take you through a tour however they do have what’s called bourbon slushies and if you notice there’s kind of an orange and a red that’s their oldfashioned which is more orange tasty and the other is a black cherry and mixed together they were very very good okay so I got through that okay Bill builds this week I got pictures of builds this is for this is for Matt’s wife and we finished off her set with a driver a wedge and a hybrid and she is Left-Handed there’s a better picture of it got the won 19 allwon all the way down the road threw uh some Acro shafts in there and then we moved on to a set of Munos with a t24 wed and a hybrid this was a good fit uh let’s see we get some more of it there’s another piece of it and uh St Max it’s turning out to be quite the nice little setup we put some mcc4 Grays on there uh if I believe this is right this was a shorter set meaning that it was a little bit more shorter than standard then there’s the back side of it some more this is a whole another set by itself now this one was a bit of a different a different build uh of course that’s this one this is the mauno pros couple degrees upright using the TZ shafts from ACA the 95s um now as it turns out the 95 gam shaft is kind of stiff however uh the golfer that I made it for was more of a uh more weight oriented golfer than anything else as soon as I gave it to him if you were going to match swing speed you would have not use this shaft but I put it on there and just started he started killing it uh half an inch short that’s not too bad but when we put the uh the bigger grips on it like those guys only that for another for another group uh we put it not the yeah there you go put those grips on there and they’re a little bit bigger it allow it it changed swing weight but not too dramatically so because these things weigh towards the head to make them a little bit heavier there’s another picture of the tzs the grips and then the last I buil another Muno driver with a green shaft I was going to show you a green shaft but for some reason it too did not transfer over that’s just one more reason today and uh what that was the the Acra GX green and marrying up into this club has been working very very well and that’s the that’s what’s you know it’s just been working now I have been using the shun a a lot to try and figure out where it fits and what it does and almost and almost every time what’s happening is the dispersion gets tighter all right and in every instance the dispersion gets tighter a lot of case it’s a little bit longer um but it’s not like this oh my God it’s the new material it’s five yards longer 10 yards longer may be a yard or two longer but the dispersion goes like that and depending on what you’re going to uh which is going to lead me into the fitting stuff here in a minute um I did a fitting for two brothers and uh 14 and 17 and they both played to a one and their driver was horrible so we we tighten them up on the driver and we tighten another one up on some irons uh last but not least when I show you this remember the barrel my Barrel is done there it is and it’s hold since it’s Augusta Barrel it’s got austa stuff in it so there we go Okay so man itchy nose H okay so I got another video for you to listen to It’s a about about 10 minutes but it’s it’s never stopping so we should be okay and no I’m not dropping the f bomb on it like I did last time and it’s talking about when we fit uh these two young golfers so let’s get going welcome to the next set of fitting results I was able to fit two brothers one was 14 and one was 17 and their game is mightily similar one plays to a 1.6 and the other one plays to a one this is Nick he’s a 17-year-old and is playing to a one now admittedly they say they play on an easy course but if you’re a one I would think a lot of courses are easy so here we go and we did a full fitting now for Nick in the uh putting Arena now these guys are pretty solid Putters to begin with however uh what we did was for Nick we took his original putter after we did some fitting and we ended up flattening his putter a couple of degrees and we worked on his left and right by changing his grip he had his interlocking grip like he would have on his irons and we went to a the what I would call the PJ T grip or an underlapping grip and all of a sudden everything narrowed down so we really didn’t have to go too crazy in that arena in order to hook him up all right as we can see here is that when we look at it just from a pure number standpoint I let him use the Wilson Blade with a mauno 243 uh with a motus 120x his 6 iron which was a shrix on in the it was a combo set but what we were testing against was the model 7 and it had a 12x in it the jpx tour model with the same shaft and this Wilson CB with the same shaft so again uh what we’re seeing here is that the Wilson Blade ended up being a little bit better the 243 which is the the second tier iron that’s in the Muno Pro Line uh and it went a little bit further and a little bit longer than his iron but we’re talking about two yards the real question here is is it really worth it you know as a one we’re always look we’re just doing tweaks at a one right we’re trying to figure out how to get to zero and we look at it and he’s hitting his clubs based on familiarity uh very very well he hit the Muno 243 very very well and he hit the Wilson Blade far but it’s because of one shot let’s go see those so if we go and we look at it from a grouping perspective there’s my testing irons and there’s his six irons so it’s a nice little it’s a nice little pattern but you’re you know he’s still missing 10 yards so I’m trying to get him a little bit tighter and that’s the idea is you know in order to know exactly where your Club is going we’re talking about a one here not a not a 10 like you know or a 15 or anything like that we’re talking about a one so these this pattern actually needs to probably be a little bit better more like that all right and it’s a it’s a very nice tyght pattern however it’s very short it’s a oh well would we say it was six yards short so a half a club might be a little too much then we look at The Wil blade now the reason why it was so much further is because we had one that he faded off or pulled I’m sorry pulled off to the right and hit two really good shots and then dunked one right here and so what we’re seeing is an average that’s not very good and then we see the jpx tour uh that is basically the Muno Pro and jpx clothing and he did not like that one and then all of a sudden we give him this this is Muno 243 which is the Players cavity back with the same shaft that he likes and we were seeing acceleration profiles that were awesome and he landed in a in a very tight pattern very easy to understand pattern and if we look at it you know you got the pink that’s sitting right here that was his Club versus that so which one would you rather which one would you rather have if you were trying to go even lower still my opinion it’s this guy all right and we really didn’t have to take out i’ only let himit hit four or five shots a piece and this is how that turned out all righty so let’s go to the brother okay the 14-year-old has the and his name is Josh the 14-year-old has a 17-year-old probably by about 20 to 30 lbs just a taller bigger wider stronger cat and as we look here we’re seeing some bigger numbers out of him and because his swing speed was probably just a little bit better uh maybe not as good as the other one but his contact was just outstanding all right it was just outstanding so here we had him hit the heat I had him hit the HM forged six iron now I changed shafts because Josh has an incredibly aggressive swing where Nick is a much more fluid swing where the 120 with the softer mid was going to work the 115 is basically a brutally stiff Club all the way down and worked really well for him so again we looked at he hit the HM Forge just absolutely slaughtered it got out to two almost 220 almost 230 it was ridiculous how far he’s getting over now the thing to worry about here is that you know when he’s hitting a six iron that far what happens in the short game however he was hitting it well but we’ll see something else the the Wilson CBS he got out to 210 to 220 that’s a respectable shot for a guy hitting clubs very very well then he hit the ZX V the I’m sorry the zx5 and in 210 and 217 right behind it and as you can tell they’re pretty much running the same but we’ll see where they land then his six iron is literally a half a club behind it okay and then we did the 243 which he didn’t like of course the brother did and the tour he didn’t like as well and that’s where we go so the next question is where did they land all right here we start with this and we talk about those there we go and there’s his six iron he hits two very very well and he dunks one now that was a case for both of them as both of their clubs were far too long and that’s exactly what happens when you have a longer Club all right there’s a zx5 nice and tight uh again we’re talking about he played to a 1.6 he says this is more up his speed uh he was playing some sevens I gave him the five because he would hit a little heavy and the five Soul was helping him get through the turf there’s the mauno forged now a tight pattern never to say the less uh but he was fading them and he was wanting to stay out of the fade and a 10 yard fade or 15 yard fade is too much and there’s the 243 nice and tight there we go the Wilson CBS a nice confident uh nice tight pattern and he absolutely smoked him each time this was a really neat one here but the fact that we were giving up too much distance was not enough and then there’s a sandwich okay so now we’re going to go to the driver okay here we are at the driver now Nick is swinging at a 115 to 116 area and finally I got him up into the smash factor that a singled digigit handicapper needs to have this is the weak point of both of these boys here that uh their driver wasn’t very good and they said their irons were okay and they were uh we made them a little bit better now in uh in Nick’s case we his driver was a low hit all the time and that was because he hovered and just had this slightly negative angle of attack that was coming in now in this particular case we test as you can tell we tested a lot the Mauna STG which I thought was working and we kept getting better every time I changed out a shaft I got him into the shun green St started tightening up a little bit I said well let’s go up into something a little bit more I gave him a Wilson TI with the ub6 from golf uh from graphite design and all of a sudden he started lighting it up right didn’t hit it quite well but swinging good then we finally and the only reason why he didn’t see Callaway in here initially is because he said he couldn’t stand it I said well let’s take a look at it so we put the triple dime in his hand with a Denali 7x all of a sudden there it is right he hit the ball very very well spin came down into what would almost be The Sweet Spot angle of attack was just slightly up which is what we want and all of a sudden he is way way way out there all righty so if we look again if we look at where everything’s going 4 oh and we also he had a 46 in driver as you can look right here 44 even 44 a half worked out pretty good and then we’re into the uh we’re into the clubs right here’s the STG for from mauno with the vrtx blue I thought that was nice and tight I lik that a lot did not like it when we went into the red shaft I think it was a little too much for him then we went in the Shogun green it was a little further a lot tighter I like that one a lot then we got in the Shogun green with a different kind of mauno he hit a little bit further but everything started hooking because it had slightly closed face then we started talking about the Wilson club and we hit two just absolutely down the middle and he he pulled on one he knew that was a swing pull and so we we C I wanted to capture that just so he could see it and then there comes the Calaway Callaway’s not as tight as what we saw some of the other ones but out here when we’re hitting it out to 320 uh I think it was proper and he he wasn’t didn’t have any issues with it all righty now on to JW all right Joshua was a hair as well now the I didn’t think the UB 40 would or the ub6 or seven would work out very well for him however uh with with Nick however with Josh I thought it would be a winner and so again we went with the St Max not too good swinging at 114 then the he liked the 3-wood because he hit it further than that particular Club then STG with a Shogun red ah he’s almost out the 300 then I gave him the Callaway Max uh and I made it a 10 degree because of the way that he was hitting the the ball now we’re 280 to 302 hitting it pretty decent then all of a sudden we give him the Wilson TI with a golf the graphite design 7x doesn’t hit it as high which he didn’t really need to but just hits the middle of the club now let’s see how that one worked okay that wasn’t good there we go that’s not good and there we go so there’s the Callaway nice and tight and up the middle that was a good one and then there’s the Wilson it’s hard not to like that right when you’re talking about being a one that was that was okay one was a pole not so much and then there’s his three wood hits and then we’re back to it again so so when we look at it we see we see what he was looking at we look at we’ll just leave you with this one uh that Different Strokes for different folks between a between a very violent swing and a one that was more of a tradition swing no by the way Josh was a taller cat and we ended up putting him in a 38 in Cruiser and absolutely he was all over the map and we put him in this Cruiser from Odyssey and everything just he just started lighting it up so uh we got his attention at least with that so here we go with the Wilson TI and nice and tight and out to 300 three so there you go right so what you had was was two brothers two different swings which is kind of unique normally when you have people in a family they tend to adopt each other’s swing tendencies that was totally not the case here Nick the older one had more of what you would call the the upright nice posture uh loads at the not flat or whatever and and comes through and does the big finish and and does very very well uh swings about 2 m hour faster uh Josh 14 years old but he’s about I say he’s a good two to three Ines taller more more wider build and has a uh he he has a swing that I’ve seen on tour I think it might be Keegan Bradley but it almost has this idea where he gets through it and and this his body caves in and then he gets it through it comes in just maybe a sco flat and but he’s making great contact so I’m not going to argue with the result on that one uh the funny part was is some of the biggest improvements that we made were at both ends of the Spectrum in that in the putting for Nick he had the right putter he just had the wrong grip soon as we he went from this to that it all of a sudden the the putters just went like that now in Josh he was a taller guy like this Putter and he had his hands in a little bit closer and as soon as I gave him something a little bit heavier and and he’s L those bigger grip he went from that to to and getting into that as well so we helped them there now in both cases they said they were quite wild with their drivers and basically what we were looking at was their drivers just weren’t number one for Nick it was a full inch and a half too long that’s ridiculously long uh for that and and being able to stay consistent right what he’s doing he’s a scrambling a lot and the other one only needed about a half of an inch down but his his swing was just so violent I mean it was hard back hard down straight through I mean there was nothing there was nothing smooth I mean it was I mean he was getting through it but everything was and but he hit the ball Grand and and so we had to really really really beef up the shaft in order for it to stay with him and you saw that in the Wilson now in irons they both really really like their irons I knew it was going to be a task trying to talk them out of something or to do something but in reality and Nick all you had to do was cut down the shaft about a half of an inch and and regrip it and his clubs were set now Josh on the other hand although they were very nice clubs to be sure that the that the was we saw the other clubs the Wilson was just working better it was amazing how he’s just gravitating towards that particular end of it so there that’s fitting and so what you see is again both running around a 100 mile an hour and because of the different swings and the different body types that this there’s this really big difference you go oh it’s all xflex true however there Denali is different than a vrtx than a than a graphite design that UB 40 is made for folks like that have that big swing speed and if you notice the for Nick the Shogun really worked and got him into the middle which was really kind of a neat idea and and we can get through that so that that’s where we’re at okay the other part is uh congratulations to Mcintyre Scottish when a Scottish open I think that’s extraordinarily cool uh he’s quite the he’s quite the character as I understand so we’re good so salute I now have this is an old fashion that coming right out of the bottle all right let’s do some let’s do some questions and answers all the way to the top okay Brandon apparently was on at 10 10:03 a.m. or Brandon Bowman all right Matt no rounds Sally got a nice practice session loves your new sticks nice I’m glad to hear that how long does everyone keep golf shirts H that’s a good question it depends on uh how faded they get really uh I keep the I mean these are Callaway shirts right these are Callaway shirts and I’m not outside too much this one I could probably start buttoning up one more I suppose get up there like that that’s not too bad uh I keep mine a couple of years at least I would think I don’t know what about you guys Al what do you say bud what fishing line what size fishing line do you use to keep the heads on the shaft while doing your frequency also will that work when bending Loft and lies or does the Iron Head have to be glued uh the fishing line that I use Al um so the the fishing line I use is around a 0.120 all right you want if you can get a 100 that’s the best but 0.120 is it it’s the smallest I could ever find and the idea of the 0.1 to0 is or the yeah no 0.01 if you can get it yeah 0.01 and then whatever number after that because that thousands isn’t going to be a big deal so what you’re doing is you’re trying to go from a 370 to a 380 so you want to take up that slack and that’s what makes it in there now as far as as far as that goes of will it work yes the what you really need in there is what you really need is just the is just the shaft needs to be in the hosle if you’re going to bend it because I’ve seen too many times where people have bent the hosle out of round because there was not any and you think oh it’s so thick and so heavy you’re right but if there’s not another piece in there for stabilization and you got to measure it uh so you need to have it in there and it doesn’t have to be glued you put it in there and then you bend it with it the shaft in and well it depends on the most every one of the machines grabs the head not the hosle so as long as you have a a shaft in it you should be good Alon what do you say buddy good evening from Bermuda and Angels Envy after a rough day good hey that’s a uh a port finished variety uh what do you think about the Black Ops challenge Black Ops challenge I’ve heard of Black Ops but I do not know the challenge so I have to think about that one Steve bird from England what do you say sir thank you for joining us so late is it okay to fit a fre wood shaft into a driver as I’m told if I cut down a driver by one and a half it will alter the flex and I will have an a flex thank [Music] you well the let’s let’s cut this down into a couple places Steve number one can you put a three-wood shaft into a driver the answer is yes because most three most drivers and most 3-woods are the same hosle internal diameter or ID so you can do that now what’s the difference of course the driver head is much much bigger but is also lighter than the three-wood so you’re going from something like this to something like that and there’s about 15 yeah about 15 to 20 grams difference in the head so that’s a lot in the way of flex and that’s a lot in the way of um a lot in the way of weight so if you put a three-wood shaft in the driver theoretically the the driver will play that shaft will play stiffer because it’s not in a club that’s as heavy all right and also it will also play shorter okay shorter is in length because obviously three Woods are shorter than drivers you go to put in the driver and they still have the same ground to bottom boore measurement you’re you’re still going to be short okay now I’m told if you cut down the driver by a half in it will alter the flex uh yes it will it and the reason being is when you shorten down this part of it you lengthen the longer part of it and the longer part helps you with your Flex so if you’re going from a driver to a 3-wood I wouldn’t necessarily cut it down an inch and a half normally in the day we used to say we say an inch and if if you have an aflex uh if you’re trying to put a a if you’re trying to it depends on what you’re trying to do here if you want to try and maintain your a flex and then and you’re you cut it down Say by half of an inch you’re still in that c you’re still in that category and then you could shut cut down your shaft a little bit shorter and then that’s really about it it depends on what you’re talking about altering as well what is that you’re looking for uh if you cut it down and you cut it to the same length then yeah it’s going to be it’s going to play a little stiffer [Music] uh just depends on what you’re trying to do with it greetings everyone from Myrtle Beach how you doing John glad to see you’re on here there’s pz y’all better hit that thumbs up I’m out in the shop in the Sim room working on stuff you can you really gain 10 yards with irons in two days but by being smoother well I’d have to say yeah you probably could you know we call I’ve always between Bob and I talked we we were constantly telling each other that uh that when you when you try harder that the muscles tense up and that literally slows you down and you’ve got to get in that V get in that mood of letting the club do the work and getting it through and it tends to hit the ball better now we the other part of it is I I call it the I don’t care or the damage shot where you’ll initially see golfers they’ll they’ll hit a bad shot pardon me they’ll hit a bad shot and uh and then they throw another ball down and they hit the I don’t care the damage shot and what it is is that there’s no there’s no risk reward in this so that they’re swinging very fluidly and fluidly that’s better fluidly and because all the muscles are tension free they pick up a little bit of Club head speed they pick up a lot of other stuff and next thing you know uh you’re hitting it further and a lot further by that matter so uh what I tell most most guys that you know when when you get out into the golf course people say man you got to hit that thing hard well that’s wrong it’s not about hitting it hard hard is like hammer and nail and you’re doing like that and you can’t ever generate any speed what you want to be doing is hitting the ball fast so what’s it take to to hit the ball fast and once those gears start turning you get to thinking well I got to move this I gotta move that how about you just and and saying relax is not going to be it either because that’s not what we want we want them to swing fast we don’t want them we want them to be tension free so there we go there’s my buddy how you doing bud Charlie’s back with us how you doing 77 and 81 you were just slaying it dude hello f been able to join after a long break well glad to see you back sir came to get holes in them there you go man Phil K is with us and he’s in Austin nice glad to see you back with us missed a few of these recently playing golf in the afternoon hand surgery last week that’ll keep him off the golf course till near September oo not good dude not good well supposedly it’s good if it helps you get stay healthy and allows you to play longer then it’s good the time off that’s not good jumbo Max benefits besides seven to 10 yards gain my accuracy is improved 10-fold hit 12 of 14 Fairways 16 18 greens and regulations four of five birdies less than two foot putts look at you go man so Scotty is a jumbo Max fan Travis K in sweltering Jersey no golf today going to the pool that’s a good idea we’ve got out here it’s 99 degrees supposed to be awful like that tomorrow and then the storm’s going to rip through although Sunday as we were driving home uh we got a big old storm that came in here and we had 60 MPH sheer winds and man oh man it did a number on our town it was out of power for oh well over 12 14 hours it had it on my way back in thank goodness we didn’t lose any thank goodness to that too Matt I found vented Columbia polos what a great shirt really nice I’d agree this guy scored this week 71 7469 all [Music] right he’s all over at playing in California Charlie my trucks a 2017 and no it didn’t buy it no in fact it lasted way longer than it should have uh you know we’re talking what is that three seven years so yeah it’s been it’s been a Workhorse it’s just I you know normally you get indicators where start going and you oh oh here we go I never got any of that it just died just died right then and there dead in a hammer and uh not not not a good feeling and of course when you go to do this you got to take you got to perform yoga moves and a little bit of and have a degree where you got to take out cross members and then uh the junction box that’s on the top and then you just don’t take it off you got to take the lid off then you got to take stuff off of the junction box then you got to pop the junction box off and set it off to the side and then you got to take the the the reservoir that holds all your stuff for your fluids you got to undo a bolt and pull that to the side so because there’s literally this much difference between the battery and that thing so there’s no lifting it out why because there’s a ledge on the other side and you just can’t pull the thing out so you got to take another piece off then and then when you get in there you got to reach in there and pull up did it move oh it moved look at that stuff here we go let’s see if I can make it go away yep and do that there we go look at that I’m getting better with this okay so That’s Where It’s At Charlie says nice rounds Scotty there’s Peter Myrtle Beach he shot a 76 getting ready for that father son yes hopefully he can throw one of those hole in ones at for you while you’re out there competing that would be nice good luck sir There You Go Robin she loves the clubs thank you so much well we are glad that you like them Peter is he going to let no doubt right oh no doubt oh here we go Christ’s there why is my spin so high with my Titleist sr4 my spin rate is at 2480 Club head speed 114 148 launch dude it doesn’t sound like anything’s wrong with that around for you around 2500 is a number right now I don’t know much about the what the heck was that did it just move on me it did let’s see if I can make it go down there we go how about that action so um I don’t see it being really that bad Chris but if you really wanted to play around with it and really drop some spin uh launch looks pretty decent maybe a tad low but uh get yourself a piece of lead tape and throw it um here we go if this is the face of the club and you had the underneath part of it set it just right behind the face and go about get about three to four inches worth and just set it really close to the face and see if that helps you out or even better yet uh run it along the axis if you’re just looking for well no just leave it there if you set it here underneath like if you’re behind it you would want to be like right here right there’s another way you could run it this way but that’s that’s more weight oriented if you want to lower some spin just put it like really close to the face you’ll see what happens there you go dude bring down a little bit of that spin it should be going and hello from sweeten I saw another one of those uh of your uh what was it Instagram swings and it looked like uh you were taken away it looks like you were laying off on your hands coming back initially and now you’ve got it back to a little more traditional look like for me Christ what is the loft of the ts4 and what kind of shaft Steve McCoy where you go thanks Jim and Robin we’re well worth a two and a half hour drive on Friday ah I will definitely be back to you get my clubs a few things at a time no problem buddy thank you for coming Charlie Christ you’re smashing it if you’re hitting it like that as far current setup I just play it for a while that might be a good thing 9 degre settings A1 standard graphite design ad [Music] no I don’t think you’re going to if you’re hitting it that well at 148 you only have a couple to go uh just I’d say try that lead tape thing and see what happens Robin saying welcome back from last week 44 in in is good driver sh from last week what is included tip adapter and into the grip swing weight affected so the swing weight will be impacted because you’re going to be about an inch shorter however when you’re talking about a driver and unless you want some uh really funky grip I’d say just leave it alone uh unless you’re massively aggressive and then what you have to do is change out in the head area uh depending on the shaft it literally depends on the shaft and it depends on the grip and it depends on the adapter so if you get a hold of Mrs MLF she can help you out Al tested the Hazardous 4G black 6.5 yeah 100 RPMs I’d say I’m still with I’m still with the lead tape philosophy and I’m all about maximizing distance he does have some of that long drive thing going on but I think really what you’ll see swing uh Christ is in order to get you’re talking about you where you’re at in your game is now you’re talking about design 2800 really is not that bad you know in a in a chart in a real world chart um you know you’re probably around 23 to 25 uh however sometimes that’s as good as it gets until you change maybe a head that has a lower spin equivalent to it and that’s what I’m just telling you if you really it looks like spin might be your issue and if you want to do it just a little bit of lead tape on the front end and it should help you out Brody what do you say man it’s been a while I’ve been able to watch live but always go back and watch nice whiskey barrel we’re able to get the do doors adjusted to to the Clos right yes the uh the the top and the bottom fine but what happens is when they and everybody tells you to do it and I did not that when you get it off it’s got a rounded uh it’s got It’s got a round you know a curve in it and what you want to do is take a uh a rope or a a come along or something along you know some a tie down and tighten it up so it maintains that shape and when you got that shape either put a metal band in it which is what I did and I’ve seen some other designs that I kind of like and what they do is they put what they cut a a section of a barrel top off that fits just in that door just a little bit into that door and and they cut a just a a sliver of it so it’s even with the door now if you got one of those shelves like I’ve got you either got to put it below or above order for not if you put it above it has a t it’ll have a tendency to hit something so you got to be really really careful of that so and then what I because what I saw was they use this application on a second shelf and the second shelf spins which I think is also cool but that means if it closes in and that shelf is sticking out like mine is that that piece will stick out about this far so you’re going to need to keep a lip about an inch around otherwise you’re just going to be pushing bottles or glasses or something around but that’s what I’m going to do on my next one I got a couple barrels to work on so I’m going to make a make a lazy Susan on the second one no I think you’re good with the other one there we go Charlie says thumbs up I haven’t said it yet so if you would like subscribe hit that Bell across the bottom and let’s get more of this information out to the folks uh really like to do that oh by the way I will have a video out this week probably closer to Wednesday I like Wednesdays all of a sudden um this one will be called The Battle of the blades what do you say there Mr Hawaii spend some time on the range with the number two 14y old in the country BS is in the low 170s I don’t like him very [Laughter] much wow nice nicely done low 170s wow that’s that’s hitting the ball you know these kids are getting bigger and stronger man good afternoon from a hot and humid Lumbard uh dude I there with you it’s stinking hot in there even with the fans running you miss MC golf was outside if you look there’s no fan running right there I know I think she went inside but I don’t know if she had it on to begin with that might have thrown her off of her groove all right question when posting scores what is the slope on the course and which te’s do you play my course has a 138 from the white middle te’s well right now at my age Jack I can play the senior te’s but it the t’s are not about age honestly the t’s are about skill level and I hit it far enough still that I play from the White te’s and the slope is nothing more than what the course difficulty so the the higher the number the more difficult to slope and I don’t know where 138 would stand because I really haven’t tracked much of that in my lifetime I just know what they mean and uh I play from the white now when I go to the resort courses D down and Myrtle Beach and stuff I really like the idea of because you’re down there to have fun right you want to play and you want to enjoy yourself and being challenges one thing but being beat up is another and they have those uh tbox setups where they have a white and a green and the green is uh somewhere between a white and a senior te so you get some relief on some not so much on others and you got kind of a combo set of golf course and I really think that’s a neat idea I think so too Christ with that distance you’re currently generating your scores should be looking outstanding are you chasing distance to answer scores or how’s your short game that’s not a bad uh bad question either there he is and now he’s telling us hello reading a book titled golf flow it’s about being in the zone when playing all right you know that there was a guy that was a very popular golf psychologist he he wrote three or four books and had them in a set and then uh he had an extra one I’ve got all those he made them small very small and they’re in the books aren’t very big to just get down to the point so people would pay attention because of our short attention spans they’re pretty good books and he talks about the same thing of living in the now my scores are average for at seven my short game is great my last round I had 10 putts on the last nine holes total 23 putts with one bogey well there you go so putting’s doing okay so maybe it’s iron play not sure who who I’m not sure who I will be happier to see my son or my irons leaning towards my irons well [Laughter] done outstanding putting stats yep here we go we’re we’re GNA nail him down yet Charlie no my comp scores are sub 80 gross comp scores are 82 to 90 gross yep I think we’re missing it right about there uh if he had a hole in one Charlie I doubt i’ TR they’ll let him see him come out of the bag okay well the UB is a much much stouter sha stouter shaft than the look at that stuff come on and the uh if you want another one Chris to look at the uh if you’re not worried about height the XC shaft is another one but they just had another one come out what was it called the uh uh not the conistor like a condor it was a a black and red shaft that might be one you want to look at your work on green zation let you driver Just Produce for what it is right now looks efficient greens in regulation being those scores down fast especially when your putter is that hot I would agree okay that’s not bad uh Robin did Jim build that set of irons for Peter that his son has absconded with the answer to that is yes yes he did it’s more my short game outside the green that’s hot my bump and run chip is great I get the ball close to the hole there you go so it sounds like your midiron game might be problematic then because if you’re having a chip maybe it’s the long iron game or a mid iron game work on greens and regulations when that goes up let me know there you go Dan Mullins what do you say Dan Mullins Dan Mullen is another friend out here around this area and a very tall Lefty uh and if you can tell by his shot he’s much of a he’s a big fisherman guy I don’t know if he’s still he’s still being competitive in that Arena and he also make used to I don’t know if he still does made custom uh uh sha or rods for fishing poles Peter yes Jim did build those for me I’m sure he will have a tear in his eyes when I I’ll have a tear in my eyes when he sees him again H very good marknet says I never get rid of a golf shirt they eventually just become driving range t- or driving range shirts oh there you go that’s an idea I thought you were going to say they cut them off and became wash your car towels or something maybe we could go do a g fund for Peter to have Jim build him another set that’s a good one oh nice bz he’s got a really strong player going from a project x 6.5 into a steel fiber 125s 5 through 58 but he wants to do 110s in the three and [Music] four well pz honestly honestly that shouldn’t be a problem Oh what is the deal here the uh if he’s making them standard length and you’re not putting some ridiculously heavy grip on it you ought to be pretty close in the three in the four already uh it wouldn’t be it wouldn’t be much of a thing I’d do a dry fit on it and says see where you’re at but the I mean for d0 that shouldn’t be too hard I mean you’re only going to see maybe D1 on the 125s D2 tops so you know he might be strong but if he doesn’t have a sense of touch he probably won’t notice other than yeah they’re a little bit the the total weight see what the difference here is he’s probably sensing total weight not necessarily swing weight because of being lighter and if he’s think that the 110s are going to get him up in the air a little bit more yeah that’s a possibility but I wouldn’t be counting on uh I wouldn’t necessarily be counting on the the weight to help him get the ball in the air if you really really want to have some fun with him here we go would you stop supposed to be able to touch this [Music] thing man I guess not today try that one more time all right so the uh if you really want to have a little bit of fun with him pz is that I would ju don’t trim the four iron and just put it in there and or get you a three iron and put it in there and then watch it happen and that should be something then you’ll get some air all right oh yeah we do Brody blacktop challenges P oh that’s right pxg they will pay you if your driver doesn’t uh doesn’t outperform their current or if their driver doesn’t outperform your current driver that’s a uh that’s a good thing I mean try it out what’s the worst you can find out so uh particularly if you’ve been fit to a driver that’s one heck of a challenge to take uh but if you haven’t been been fit for a driver and you’re giving these guys the option to fit you then the the it’s a it’s a house winners uh uh percentage meaning that they’ve put you in specs that are more closer to than what your driver might certainly be and yeah you’re probably go above it and what what’s it going to hurt if they do it and it doesn’t cost you anything you know what kind of driver if you like what to buy and if not then you know your specs and you can probably check something else out Mr P Ola what do you say he loves this channel well I’m glad that you do sir everybody don’t forget that like And subscribe stuff Charli I think and appreciate the necessarily enjoy seeing him play his best golf and joking about it well and Peter’s got some game in himself he’s shooting all the those low scores I wouldn’t feel too sorry for him Brett corneliusen what do you say sir hope all is well I’m just curious which Shogun shaft has a profile closest to the black velor I would love to try one of those in my Callaway mini driver well the black velor is a pretty brutish shaft so I’d have to go with the red the Shogun red and a comparable weight and flex my dog Rex you say sir thank you everybody thumbs up Mr P says hello to Robin he’s saying hello Brett all right saying thanks there’s Charlie again the engineers that design these new vehicles should be made to work on them I’m telling you what dude there is very I mean there used to be days where you could literally sleep in the engine bay and not touch anything but nowadays everything so packed up with all the extra technology Pollution Control that kind of stuff because I don’t think the cars well the cars may have gotten smaller at least on the outside uh with keeping the inside a little bit better but the man you know just I’m a I’m a straight line kind of guy and I’m going to and moan the whole way while I’m taking it apart and I go ah I know how to put it back together now because I took it apart you know it’s just what it is oh you know and then just moments ago before coming in here I’m working on my golf clubs and one of my Motors on my uh on uh my 1X 42 belt decided not to turn on so I don’t know if it’s a switch if it’s a motor if everything just gave out just like right now so I got another thing I got to go fix Christ just had to start following you on Insta there you go Anthony Penny he has a set of yanx irons the butt end of the shaft is twice as large as normal and have to get grips on thanks uh this should be of no surprise Anthony they’re called big butt shafts and you’re going to need big butt grips and those are hard to come by uh those are very hard to come by anymore those used to be very popular in the days of the yanx and there was another one that had a silver and gold U more U metal feral kind of thing I think gold was in their name not a bad little club and they had very large uh big butt steel shafts in them as well typically that’s done to stiffen up the club and still keep the the walls kind of thin uh so in order to get on there there’s one way one or couple ways to do this number one you can get a replacement grip if you find a a big butt grip which has got like a uh it’s probably it’s very close to like 3/4 of an inch maybe even long it may maybe even more closer to 78 of an inch so anyway if you find that that would be the most preferred method now in order to put them back on pardon me you’re going to need a big butt uh installer tool and what that does is if you had a grip and this installer goes in into the grip and then this part’s open in here and you install it over the shaft and it th those fingers that are on the grip make the grip get bigger and they slide it on and then you just slide the whole thing on and you’re good to go now uh that’s one way another way is and they used to have it I don’t know if they still do probably not we used to get wind Replacements and there were the leather the leather wrap variety and we would just take it because it had an adhesive backing and we would just wrap it all the way down and then put a butt cap in it and they they actually had butt caps for them and that was a very very very nice look and it gave it a little softer appeal that was a good one and then finally you just got to make one fit and the only and Mrs McGolf has been an expert at this I ought to have her come in here and explain it but matter of fact if you’re listening bring in that big butt in extender tool and uh but the only one that I think we’ve got to work worth a darn is the Golf Pride tour velvets and you might want to consider like a midsize I don’t know maybe the standard but uh because that’s the only thing that was really stretchy enough and I would probably consider warming that grip up so the rubber will stretch hello hello John lamb just stopped in to give a thumbs up appreciate it John and he’s in St John’s New Finland and Labrador hoping to get some advice well there you go hopefully I hooked you right up had a weird one was pulling grips off a factory set of Titleist one grip was a wrestling match it was because the extension insert in the grip pulled out in the oh yes that’s not very good my dog Rex watching live this weekend made me feel pretty good about my game you know and I saw the Sergio had won they made a every Golf Magazine on the planet was saying hey Sergio W it’s been you know forever 20 years or whatever it is been since he’s won and I’m sorry you know and and I like Sergio when he was playing I like the fact that he was a little bit controversial and that he wanted to be a good golfer and and he did all what he did right here and he had has no bones about never coming back and that’s all fine that’s purely up to him he’s the man and uh and all I wanted to say I read every one of those headlines Sergio wins at live golf you know live golf Sergio wins and I wanted to just put another tagline and nobody still cares but I didn’t so I didn’t write it on there but I just said it here so kill me if you like but that was funny nope that was him Chris are you chasing distance for lower scores these days are both he’s doing both Victory Force that’s the one Anthony onx has is getting some attention I remember correctly Jim did visit I did it was really neat the the irons were really nice they’re trying to come back but they were trying to get more on their your tool and uh give me a grip please now anyway the uh there shafts were making a uh kind of a splash they said they had a double bpoint shaft that was unique and I should have done something with him but I decided not to so there you go all right Anthony here we go Miss McGolf brought it to me this is a big butt shaft installer this is not a big butt grip but what you do is you put these in here like this and get there you go see it slides on pretty easy and then what this does is that if you look there’s a there’s an opening right here all the way down so what you do is you slide this onto the shaft this will make this area expand to accept the grip and then when you get down to a certain spot you can just pull this out and then pull it off where that just pull it off from that opening and slide that guy all the way in that’s what I would do Kevin Brown what do you say sir how are you yeah I am liking them they are uh I am like I am I’m liking them they’re very consistent for me that’s the B I’m not I’m not sending them off to the left or to the right uh I’m finding my way with them it’s pretty good I’m not killing it with distance but I but I know what my distances are and they didn’t change so that’s also a good thing and he is chasing distance there we go Lawrence Bronson what do you say Sir hello out there enjoying the warm weather no and it’s pretty rough in in New Jersey it was been it was it was tolerable Saturday Sunday it was in the mid90s and today it’s in the high 90s there you go Kevin Brown L is din of power forged irons or Jim calls him Dina forged you are correct sir ah see there we go we figured it out long the mid irons there we go Christ we could be we could be site coaches for him man I can get good shots with long men runs as well not safe well yeah course rating is what a scratch player can be expected to shoot relative to par slow is uh is the bogey golfer can expect to shoot all [Music] right that’s a good to know Christ had the same problem look at this whoa the uh I was trying to get more out of my swing the iron would allow it to slow down and release and then and dialed it in there’s another way of looking at it was the motor humming on the 1×4 no it wasn’t it was not humming that’s the reason why it makes me think makes me think first first and foremost Charlie that it might be the switch but it’s not the switch is not broken I’m just going to have to dig into it and see where it’s there hopefully something didn’t burn off and if it did I’ve I’ve got another motor uh from another pole so and this could be the last one right here because that’s the last double-ended Arbor from Kalamazoo at least that I have without paying some Fortune pz yeah thanks I have a YouTube channel as well same name as an Instagram there we go thanks you appreciate you no problem buddy rer I catch I can I catch you on YouTube every once in a while I hit the Subscribe next time there you go there I’m helping you out Christ let’s see what we can do for him vacuum pump on my F-150 went out took both front hubs with it front hubs really that’s why I had a hard break pedal you know that these Engineers would climb all over a pile of Virgin to screw a [Laughter] mechanic oh then really what that’s for is to prevent guys like us pz that have the gumption to go and C go and hold a wrench to go make things happen alrighty ain’t that the truth you are you are correct sir and Saturday was a cooler day yes it was all right guys and gals we got down to the bottom and uh so hopefully we take a home what are we taking away from this number one is that different strokes are different folks and that can mean different golf clubs and not only heads but shafts and the way they go turns out that we got Nick to like a a star grip and Josh like the 2 GS and we got got a midsize in both of them because they had longer fingers and that putter that they didn’t have the same putting style so different Putters for that and that you got to take a different idea when you’re not just about you know throwing it out there you’re throwing it out there tight particularly if you want to get down to that one category and that’s what and that’s what we’re trying to do here and uh you know and you got to take a different approach particularly when they’re competitive golfers and you got to expect a little bit more out of them to do that and I did and that’s how and that’s how it worked out but all in all I thought it was a good time and then if we got the repairs were fun making some good clubs for folks Matt I’m glad Sally likes hers that just makes me feel all the much better maybe I can end the week on a better note so we got a long week ahead of us in fact I think I I’m I’m going to a concert that I’ve not I haven’t been to a concert and a concert with Miss McGolf in easily 30 years we’re going to go see Travis trits so that’s going to be some fun and as again guys thank you for watching and as always uh let me do this and as always let’s see your scores go low
