Super 20: Scorchers v Dragons

e well good afternoon everyone welcome back to Malahide apologies for a slight delay in the coverage today we’re just into the second over here nine balls into this Innings from the dragons just a slight technical difficulty there there but we’re up and running and as you can see on your screens it’s the Scorchers who are in the field and the dragons are batting first here today in the score seven without loss after 10 deliveries this is the last game of course of this evoke T20 tournament and hopefully you’ll have watched the game this morning with us as the Scorchers defeated the typhoons Jan McGuire here bowling to Millie Spence he’s going down the ground there she will get one as I say this is the last game of the tournament and that victory for the Scorchers has meant that the dragons will win this tournament respective of the result today so just about to come up to the end of the second over delighted once again to have Isabelle Joyce alongside me here so a little bit of a different game now than possibly we hoped wanted a bit of a title decider but still plenty to play for for these two teams absolutely more on this shortly order Prendergast finally gets strike for the final delivery of that over two singles in it a good start from Jane Maguire they’re Nine without loss after two the dragons they did win the toss and elected to bat first because of that game earlier where the scorches kind of rained on the tyon parade uh that it’s going for a development opportunity for the dragons they’ve left out to overseas at least Noble and Talia dun sitting on the sideline and some fresh faces in the dragons lineup one of them that we haven’t seen too much of Before Emily Calvers out in the Middle with order Prendergast and uh no sorry it’s it’s Millie Spence just a replay of the boundary that happened in the first over that’s her first first boundry but she’s struggled a little bit since then to find the gaps particularly in that J Maguire over it but it does mean that she’s got an opportunity at the top of the order Amy Hunter not here today um so there was a gap opened up by that NE mnti follow her first over she replaces Alice Tor yeah you’re right look it’s a nobody can Su it’s a step up for M bench he plays for breedy up in the Northwest one of the better uh team’s in the Northwest but it is a step up for her but opportunity comes these are the things you got to learn from and certainly baton with what you would say as Aron’s Premier player in orner prer Gast at the other end a little bit of advice well she know NE MCN pretty well they play Irish underage and the play against each other of course in the interprise all the way up but uh so that actually is something that might give her a little bit of Camp Alice Tor was the other B that she’d know pretty well Jane Maguire not so much um but two Bowers that she’s pretty familiar with I think the big step for for Millie and for any of the other players that have come in today is is actually the standard in the fielding and as I say that there’s a misfield there but in general um in general the Fielding so good and you know if you don’t get the Gap exactly right you don’t get the power then it just doesn’t get through the field like it would in maybe some underage inch Pros or some Club Cricket yeah that’s definitely right and running between the wickets is is key we mentioned in the first game aenas tries to go over the top to the leg side SKS off actually on the offs side and runs down to third little bit fortunate there took me ages to find the ball there yeah I was looking at the screen and uh I just couldn’t figure out how that I thought maybe Inside Edge the complete opposite way it should have gone NE back I’ll be going down like side she grew up being an away swing baller and even M NY but just doesn’t really swing the ball too much anymore it much more stump to stump and focuses on her slower deliveries yeah quite impressed with her in that first game as you mentioned in it she has bow her variety of deliveries night slightly say the off stomp Gabby loose with the Fielding Direct Hit was gone doesn’t manage it do only Spence gets through for the single and after three overs just singles from that over the dragons have moved on it’s a 13 with loss great opportunity this for Millie Spence to B with Ora Prendergast and be really interested to hear what it is that they’re talking about there in the middle whether they think that was a good good run or not he they’re going to go about I’m asking a good total for Millie Spence 8 from 12 not too bad today we haven’t seen many people go better than a run a ball so she’s pretty much the same as anyone else we’ve seen on show just Christina ktery I think she was 21 from 19 aside from that it’s been pretty much below 100% strike rate which we did talk about in that first game it’s quite surprising given the conditions we’re looking at looks a decent Wicket hasn’t really done too much and The Outfield really quick it’s pulled into the leg side into a gap now you can see exactly what I’ve just been talking about how quickly that runs across the Outfield that goes for four Spence moves to 12 from 13 am M has been one of the more impressive Bowlers on show in this tournament and she hasn’t seen too much of this a taking her on straight away probably just touched short but all she had to do was pop that around the corner and it ran away wa for four ell McGee putting in the big strides there it doesn’t get even get closeu again much straighter Line This Time tries to play the same shot when should punching that down the ground possibly he’s got to be careful with that shot there L Spence trying to play a lot straighter that one short enough but it’s in the air and the safe PA of hands again that’s about as we said that she taking a safe catch in the first Innings but that’s about as easy it gets for Gabby Lewis’s position there at cover and the first Wicket Falls Milly Spence goes caught by calby Lewis pulled by McGuire for 12 12 from 15 deliveries at least she scored the boundary before she lost lost her Wicket so not too bad from Millie Spence and a good experience for her as well the ball’s sitting up a little bit and that’s what helped her score the four earlier in the over but in this occasion doesn’t get on top of the bouns and just pokes at it really to Gabby Lewis it doesn’t look like she’s just taken a catch from the lack of Celebration but it was ttra cover Lewis has three catches for the day now she took an easy one like that in the first match and then a really good diving one and uh at three overseas player playing for Bal Brin CC Claudia green yeah we just saw the replayer there that’s exactly what you were talking about in the first Innings either go over the top or or get on top of the ball and hit it down into the ground didn’t either really very similar to a dismissal in that first game of Annabel squares first ball for green and out of the side for the dragons this year they’ve mixed up player with Elise Noble also think she’s got a little bit of an injury at the moment and that could be another and there’s a collector’s item we’ve said she’s pretty awesome in that area much tougher chance on this occasion but I’m sure Cal Le will be just a little bit disappointed there she’d got across moved well as usual got her hands to it yeah it was the sound that that the handmade when the ball hit us it popped straight out sometimes that happens she did make a good effort to get there she’ll be disappointed has really high standards for herself Gabby Lewis and this is one that she you she’s one of those fielders she wants these opportunities and that’s why she takes catches because she wants the ball to come to her did come to her here hit pretty cleanly and just popped out so green gets a life on no after four dragon 17th for one yeah we sometimes talk about returning catches to the bowler they either stick or they don’t we don’t usually that use that for fielders in the Outfield but that was kind of one of those she was in the air and you know it’s a difficult either of pops in and sticks in your hand or it it kind of hits an area and pops out again so it’s difficult chance but again as you say she wants to take catches she’s you can see actually commented a few games back you watched her impact on all of the fielders on the offside she’s almost prowling on that offside and they all kind of mimic her and and they do tend to squeeze in on that side so when you’re keen on your Fielding the ball does tend to come your way it’s something I’ve complained about a little bit is that the how how um rare it is to see Gabby field once outside the power play She’s often on the boundary and the ball just doesn’t seem to go to her um so they I just don’t think they’re finding the right spot for her as one of their Premier fielders now the standard is really good across the team obviously but she should be in the hot spot areas a bit more let start come on a little bitas is able to work it down to third yeah you’re talking about an international sort of game both men’s and women’s that you’re gone Fielder is positioned whether it be on the boundary or whether it be at point or cover in in an area where it’s a hot spot as you say you’ll get your Fielder and that’s where they’ll go sometimes it is the boundary but you know it’s not always No Ex exactly I mean she’s in those areas because she will take the catches y but we have we really haven’t seen any catches on the boundary for her Jan McGuire is taking a good few yeah um but and Talia Don of course in those games last weekend took a scream out in the Bounder as well well but Gabby Le is just seems to be out in that that position when the ball isn’t getting hit there waed outside all called wide yeah just you mentioned that catch last week I think I said to you before but I was in back at my home Club back in Carrick Ferguson that had a man’s game on from the county cl to were playing Somerset and the the stream of the of the game down in no kill was on beside it right beside it and just in in a split second keeper took a catch in the Gloucester game and everybody oh that’s a great catch and literally a split second later just watchs that delivery ni shot into the covers that’s going to go for four across the Outfield again it is rapid so yeah as I say that catch was taken by the keeper and there was L great catch and literally Split Second later they looked at the screen to the right and Talia took the catch off Gabby Lewis to dismiss her and the gasps in the crowd what a catch that was and think I forget about the man just forgotten about it was a really really good catch from tal had on that deck and uh both games just going on simultaneously it was it was really good to watch two full the previous delivery Too Short this time and that pace in the Outfield still there so back to back boundaries as shaav just can’t quite yet there in time to save the boundary useful final two deliveries of the over as that one goes for 10 five overs gone 27 for one yeah exactly right just over compensated with that one there previous ball being hit through the covers similar line but couple of feet shorter and GRE was able to get on back foot and pull it through midwicket and as we’ve said a few times now the Outfield is really quick here you’re getting full value for your Strokes here which is why that 113 from the Typhon earlier really never looked like being enough final over of the power play so I’m interested to see how order Pras goes about this one is she going to try and make full use of the Fielding restrictions only two out outside deep backwards s and a third on the boundary has a little Shuffle down they’ll take the single misfield from NE mcti in mid on that’s the second time we’ve seen a misfield I think in the scorches Innings and it’ll be an easy three for the pace of or prast perhaps a little bit tired Alice Tor and Eve melti they’ve played a lot of cricket in the last few week was actually talk to you about that because I’ve had a bit of a look at at these double headers and you always sort of thought that the team playing the double header would have the advantage because they already played on the pitch they knew that what’s happening and but I’ve looked at a lot of them and it does you know seem to be that the team playing the second game they may win the first one but in the second they do look a little bit fatigued or sort of mentally drained maybe a little bit I think it’s the mental fatigue more so cuz these girls are fit enough to play obviously it’s not we play 50 over you know it’s which is fine but it’s the you know you have a break and then gosh is there anything worse than doing two warm-ups in day doing two warm-ups in day is absolutely hor terrific um so no it is it’s tough uh mentally so I think they’re actually happy to bowl first because of that that’s another chance just over the head of Gabby Lewis and Sh Woods thought she was in with a chance there as well well Gabby Lewis one of the taller players going around not quite as tall I think as Becky K she’s the tallest Rebecca stole yeah but even Gabby Lewis couldn’t jump and catch that one so many fielders on that offside it’s a zigzag as we look at it here five fielders on the offside comes McGuire again that’s pulled on the leg side this time a little bit short again not perfectly timed but green should get two more and does not not really cleanly struck either of those two shots that have gone for a couple but she has decided she’s going up so that means she gets it over Extra cover first one and then over midwicket in the second one leople just sitting on the ring ing a little bit here now in midwicket I think she’s eyeing up a catch she’s dropped back a good five yards there now he just tued into the leg side Fielder will come in from the boundry G fields and good throw into the keeper always like to see that this is a decent overnight from the dragons we talked about the last over of the PO play he’s getting a little bit of momentum in it’s a final ball here now to pther Gast she works that down to third will be a single and at the end of six overs it’s exactly a run of ball and it is 36 for one for the dragons having elected to bat first myself and Izzy just going to take a little break here and you’ll be in the company of Celeste rack and Craig Senor well Celeste second game of the double header the ttin the trophy already decided but I have to say the dragons have come out of the blocks and sort of shown that runs can be scored on this pitch they’ve started off very posit positively despite the Wicket of Spence early on uh green looking to attack from ball one showing great intent and we know what we’re going to get from all the prast very much so very much so scorches having recorded their first win of the tournament in the first game well started this morning seems a while ago now good win against the typhoons interesting to see the changes in the lineup that the dragons have made opting for some Belfast and Northern Ireland locals that we and young players that we haven’t seen too much of well it’s great for them to get the opportunity that the trophy is safely in the dragon cabinet the scorches well even with a win here they’ll end up bottom of the pile so no great to see uh people getting the opportunity at this super zero that’s well bowled from tector saying before I would love to see her really Bend her back and send through a short ball and that she’s just showed there that she can get the ball up took green a little bit by surprise here is that delivery you see just how short she goes catching the keeper bites surprise as well that one just short of a length played away on the offside Claudia green well as Celesta said she’s come to the Wicket full of positive intent she’s had a tough job in club Cricket playing as the overseas for B brigin who have recently come up from division two takes a lot of experience and maturity to lead the troops oh that is a fabulous shot from all aenar she picked it up saw it was full on her legs and she just turned around swept it there were two fielders down there couldn’t have been more than 20 25 yards apart and neither one of them really got to within five yards of the wall crossing the boundary super super shot from prast and one feels that she’s she’s in the mood for a big score here for sure we were talking before about how the typhoons in their innings with just picking out fielders and couldn’t couldn’t hit it away from them and pigas here has done the complete opposite there she knows exactly where those two are and waits on the ball such such time she always seems like she’s got all the time in the world that’s always the sign of class player no matter the sport they just seem to have more time than everybody else they go through for a leg by the appeal was stifled here is that delivery you see heading down the leg side hit her outside the leg stump but apart from that good Shout good shot yeah it’s always worth the question any shot’s a good shout if it’s always might catch an Umpire on a well she may have been and gone but I have to say I was impressed with mil Spence in those first six overs she was looking to play so positively and she didn’t she took no concern or care of who was bowling or what they were she was looking to be positive and that showed up in her Innings it was really impressive wasn’t it Craig it was um great to see contrary to what we’d seen from the scorches and the typhoons who faced a lot of dots Spence just looked to get in there rotate the strike from ball one attack play shots and even though it’s only 12 in the score book it 12 12 very impressive runs well as well as that of course it was an opening partnership that just sawar off and over from each of the first three Bowlers they saw Ellie McGee now coming on from the Dublin Road end scorches shuffling their back as they try to find another breakthrough because these two starting to look very settled should be coming in with some confidence after her three wickets in the first game there green swung herself off her feet thinking that was a little shorter than what it was actually ended up careering into a leg that time but now she’s found the Gap mgee just straying a little bit in length and green was all over that and another four runs onto the total I suspect that also the top order of the Dragon they’re missing Amy Hunter today uh unsure why but uh that necessitated the change and we see all of prast opening and and one wonders well she’s not the sort of player who who suffers from pressure or anxiety and the change to open I don’t think would phaser too much but interesting move it is and getting her experience in in that opening position isn’t the worst thing for Ireland either if they want to change things up themselves during the International series I know they like to put Aller at four sometimes at three but she’s certainly good enough to face a new ball and she’s always H she never gets too stressed if she’s starts off a little bit slower if she has to make changes to how she how she goes about her Innings well that one was turning away from prast just played out square on the offside sha caver does the Fielding nice balanced throw back to the keeper this will be an interesting challenge for McGee here where she hasn’t really had anyone that’s ran at her today and green is looking to come forward well on this occasion she went on to the back foot and it’s only some good Fielding from Jay Maguire that prevents the boundary but green picks up another two 50 up on the board Now 52 for one and this the eighth over it’s an interesting enough field with McGee she’s encouraging I mean this is the lovely thing about the bowling is she’s quite she knows they’re after her but she’s still willing to throw it up there so often you’d see a bowler just fire one end to try and keep the dot definitely and that’s what we love to see I know she she did drop a couple of balls short that over potentially being in two minds about getting the ball up there but perhaps if she brings out a mid on she’ll be she has the freedom to be able to throw it up yeah and grace Of course that her Captain encourages that sort of bowling it’s going to create chances here is the batting card so far we’re eight overs in and you can see prast and green and who would have thought prar would be the junior partner in the partnership so far she’s only 15 from 15 but green has really gone after the bowling and she’s 23 from 18 this is a new challenge for green here see how she plays Amy Maguire she’s not going to get much air she’s not going to get much time to react Maguire’s quite hard to hit straight left arm around brings its own challenges with the angles this occasion swept out a square leg boundary shaa kaber again proving to be very effective down there in front of the bank close enough to the Nets in that corner What a Beautiful Day Malahide has put on for us today this is let’s say the start of a proper summer hopefully I did hear rumors there’s supposed to be a heat wave coming so let’s hope they’re true frar on this occasion trying to manipulate the bowling into a run wasn’t to be Woods it was doing the Fielding scorches have two behind Square on the offside in an effort to cut off that runs scoring area for prast kaver again will be happy enough only can seing one with the full toss there just wants to get that little bit more consistency and eliminate those poor balls green now goes down towards the scoreboard and we pick up two nice bit of Fielding down there and sort of C Corner long on and wide midwicket combining looks to be a strength of greens that she’s um she’s shown us today that wide long on area getting the bottom hand into it we haven’t seen a whole lot of what she can do with the bat throughout this series so she’s impressing today I think she’s thriving on the extra responsibility she’s been given coming in today at number three she was dropped on before she’d scored but it’s going well now 58 for one the dragons as we one over away from the halfway mark in this Innings and it will be Ellie McGee again from the Dublin Road end I think of the two sides the dragons will be very content they’re going along a good rate at the moment an accessible Runner ball with 11 overs remaining and nine wickets in hand we could be looking at targets of 120 140 sure it’s been a very positive start from the two of them green again looking to go bigger than she actually ended up doing Noy caught what stopped what I would call almost a bondt in the end that brings figas back on strike and there’s that length it’s a bit flatter from McGee trying not to let prast get on top of her but then so saying last over if if ni mnal had mid on there was dropped which is what she’s doing now that just gives McGee a bit more freedom to give the ball a little bit more air where she’s much more comfortable and more likely to take a wicket so I really do like this field change of square leg coming in Long on in place now and although it opens that up good fielding and good intelligent Cricket play going for the non-striker end it was much further away but it was also the better chance of yeah picking up a wicket one of the um one of the key difficulties as a spin baller especially in women’s Cricket for those those of you watching who who wouldn’t always watch women’s Cricket um only having four fielders out does make does mean that you have to really block off one area as a spinner so that’s a challenge for Le McGee here shanaver one of the busiest fielders on the park at the moment saves another boundary turns that in i’ say she’s saved a good dozen runs out there already oh plenty of air on this occasion and almost tennis shot highly appropriate on the day that the men’s singles final taking place in wimon but here it just brings you another four runs really was just a little bit on the high side you’ll see it here on replay and you see the shot of all of prast really was a manufactured shot but it worked and now she has a free hit as well it’s not a not a nice place standing at the top of your mark balling the free hit time prar not trying to hit it too hard but picking her Direction clever from hust and they’ll pick up three so that no ball and free hit working out very well for the dragons their score is moted ahead now 69 for one with one ball left in the first half of this Innings unfortun unfortunately that one bad ball just changes the whole over doesn’t it it really does seven coming off that one seven coming off the no ball and the free hit plus another three so 10 off the over and these two now with a 50 partnership and that has come about very quickly and mainly on the batting of claudo green and that’s not something expected to say when you’ve got all of prast in the middle but it just goes to show how positive green has been she has been yeah it’s been great to see getting the opportunity a bit higher up the order than she has been this series and taking it with both hands 69 for one then at the halfway mark As We Know with all the Pras she can fly under the radar only so long until all of a sudden she changes gear and you see some fireworks from her as well there’s been a quick half century partnership between these two strangled strangled appeal somewhere out in the field but whoever it was decided that seem the keeper and the bowler weren’t going up maybe it wasn’t one to appeal for it’s not to say that the scorches Fielding has been anything other than top class so far but as you said the the bats in this inning seem to be more aiming for the gaps in the field rather than trying to hit for power that’s it we had a yeah a lot of balls hit straight at fielders last game and I suppose the dragons might have watched on how to look at the typhoon mistakes the scorch’s mistakes from the first game nicely clipped into the leg Side by Green just takes the single that’ll take the score on to 72 green moves on to 30 very intelligent play from prast saw the delivery on another day that would be a DOT Ball but prar clever enough to know that if she got something on it they could get through for a single that’s a needed bit of Fielding down at midon prevented any more runs coming from the over after 11 overs now score has moved on 73 for one I suppose it’s that time of the Innings now especially for you and I we have two overs left in the box but what sort of total do you think the dragons are going to be looking for from here i’ say anything anything under 150 and they’d be disappointed at this stage one W one Wicket down 11th over and seven it’s you know 7073 um yeah they they know despite the fact that the scorches haven’t put any big scores on the on the board in this in this tournament they know they’re capable of it so they’d want to capitalize on it if anything we’ve seen teams really set themselves up and then not quite carry on so that’s the challenge for these two now to stay out there as long as possible what do you think Craig well I think you’re absolutely right I think anything under the 150 they’d be disappointed but that having been said with the changes made in the dragon side as shaav prevents yet another boundary but can’t prevent two runs being taken uh it’s it’s it’s impossible to know that if if a couple of wickets let’s say these two got out in successive balls is there enough batting in the rest of the Dragon order to carry them up to that 150 I agree with you Craig it’s a good question and there’s a there’s a lot there’s a lot more of the unknown um in this lineup than than what we’ve had in previous games as Jane Maguire executes yet another great short ball Pras could only half hit it into the offside it was enough for a single though and again that’s excellent work in just rotating the strike constantly Green Well C to Riley doing a super job to stop that one reaching the boundary because well green turned on it and got some bat on it and usually that would be enough if it beats the keeper it runs away to the boundary but on this occasion the keeper did a great job she’s done extremely well there full length out to the left saved three runs prast on this occasion swiping at one outside off kept very low there from Maguire it did didn’t it yeah the pitch has played very true it’s been great throughout the play we’ve seen here today with the typhoons and the scorches in the first T20 it’s the high standard we’ve come to expect from from Malahide Cricket Club oh so well bowled by Maguire on that occasion change of pace just took the pace off the ball fooled the bat that’s a back of the hand slower ball I just missed the leg stump you can see Maguire she knew that the celebration if that had hit the stumps would have been amazing but it just slipped down the leg side Pras survives another delivery and this says a lot about the evolution of Jay Maguire as a bowler where these spots in the Irish team are very very hard to negotiate at this stage for the selectors Maguire has well then truly set herself apart from the others with she used to just Bowl um consistent away swing same Pace most balls and now she’s got short ball back of the hand slower ball off cutter um bows them in the right times I think it’d be very hard to overlooker for the first 11 at the moment well the r side do have Internationals coming up shortly t20s and Odis with swil Lanka two t20s to be held in Dublin and I think it’s three Odis in storment yeah so be a good opportunity this is I suppose the final real opport for these women on display here to put their hand up to the coaching and the management for those series hit down the ground and some well pretty ordinary Fielding there by CLA Weber means that they’ll get through for more runs than they expected to get it’s disappointing on the first ball of you’re over when you’ve bowled where you’ve meant to and you get hit straight to the field and it goes through for more runs than what they deserved but it’s all about how you bounce back the next ball na trying something out of the back of the hand on that occasion that just meant that she dragged it right down the middle of the pitch but green could only get a single from it saved by Green there well played from friend guest such a professional shot I’d almost call that just she knew where the field was as long as she got out there she could take that single Pras now waving back to the tent if you consider the intent and the singles that have been taken due to that intent it’s an extra 20 or 30 runs more than what scorches would have been typhoons would have been as green swings herself off her feet to the slower ball there well there was certainly a bit of effort put into this shot came down the track big swing and then just to make a ground I think it was more she took herself to the ground rather than swinging herself off her feet but safely back I’ve said before The Bravery of these of these young players and mcnalty dragged down a slower ball almost off off the off the cut strip a few balls earlier and then was brave enough to try another one that almost got to the Wicket rather them putting it in the back pocket try try and try again well we had two balls on the pitch there for a moment one of them was a red one coming from the Malahide game being played on their second pitch both bats well alive to the chance of a single that brings the score to 86 for one after 13 overs sorry 85 for one after 13 overs now we’ll come back to Ally and Izzy to take us through to the conclusion of this first Innings thanks very much Craig is one of the warmer days we’ve had in Ireland I wouldn’t say it’s scorching but warm enough that the Batters need a drink good work from the 12th and 13th jevie Marcy and Shiva bja running the drinks and the gloves and things on there so well set up for the dragons 85 for just one Wicket in 13 lots and lots of time for them to elevate that score we’ll be very surprised if it’s not the highest score we’ve seen so far today what do you think these two will be aiming for Ali I was just thinking that just why we were watching for a little bit there that you know 140 been the highest score really in the T20 and we really like to see maybe a a 150 160 so certainly I mean we’re looking at all the pagas STS on 35 haven’t been out there for the entire 13 overs and certainly in a normal circumstance you would be well past the 35 at this stage but she’s got the ability to change gears in these last seven overs so if she were to click into gear now he could certainly be doubling the score from here up and around the 160 Mark two exra covers just for the Outfield here you know as I say it’s at a few te it’s only quick and it’s in the air but it’s well hit and it’s over the top couple of bounces that skip away he Tor in front of us yeah goes with the foot and per and fails to stop the ball he just said to us he’s going to miss the Euro final tonight and there’s only a few issues with he playing in the Euro final so just the Gap was over mid on a little Shuffle down the pitch and lifts it over oras four fielders allowed out cover long off and they’re putting long on back now so Square leg has to come into the ring that might be the space she looks at next we’ve seen her Shuffle across and try and access that area a few times she just looked to try and hit in that area but keeping the ball outside off stump it’s a difficult shot that was time they’ve got an overseas player now and their facilities lots of kids playing at Hollywood and they’ve andin a space of three or four years they’ve reached the Premier League and now they’re playing in their first ever challenge Cup Final and obviously if they win that and they’ll qualify for the T20 finals day possibly Y and they’ll play a Northwest team and uh really good to see a team coming from literally nowhere and you have a women’s team three four years ago and coming to the the levels they’ve reached a lot of hard work’s gone in there yeah they’ve really applied themselves and it just shows what can be done if you set your mind to us in women’s Cricket it is a sport that you can in a two three four years you can improve so much because it is it’s a game that you can practice so much and that sounds strange but because you don’t have to unless you’re a seam bowler if you’re a batter you can bat a long long time this is in the air chance for magnotti who shells it well she couldn’t decide which way to hold her hands and second bit of luck goes the way of Lulu little who’s in desperate need of that luck she couldn’t have picked out magnotti any better and after the Hills I think they haven’t made it past round one for a good number of years they tend to get Penbrook first up so they’re delighted to only find them in the semi-finals yeah it will be four great games a lot of players have been on show today will be involved in those semis on opposing teams of course plenty players missing as well for those cup semi-finals on Tuesday because of the Irish under 177 tour almost um evens out I think because for the hills they’ll be missing this bowler on show Amy Maguire but pem will be missing Isabelle um why can’t I think of Isabelle’s surname Isabelle Jennings Isabelle Jennings and uh Marian will be losing NE magnotti but Phoenix will be losing Alice tector so they’re all celing each other out yeah well it’s good to see that they’re getting on the tour but as you say I’m sure they they’d love to be playing in that semi-final should be a should be a good matchup as I see a lot of players out there at the minute will be in opposition sure you’ll have your Marion hat on on Tuesday not in the 11 so they’ll be watching from the side good watch for fiing difficult thing isn’t it watching I still still struggle with it I still strugg great I don’t have to play no I still withth watching especially my own clubs involved last ball of the 17th here McGuire b a good spell that’s targeting the leg stump nicely played though really really clever batting that just shuffles down the pitch and eases to the leg side for a single but a good over from Amy McGuire one for 18 for her from her four overs another great spell from her and the runs well they’ve been kept a little bit quiet now after those big Manhattans got that around there one at five overs and one at 10 but those two wickets the dots on the right hand side have halted things a little bit but they would have probably looked to launch these last four or five overs had they not lost the two set batters yeah that was the key moments that we talked about couple of set batters coming in here but you know we we did talk about it in the last game about rotating strike that was Nice Shot there EA Fisher has a save she could have just blocked that and rolled it back to the bowler but worked her hands into the leg side and that’s the kind of thing we got to look for here she’s moved on to it that’s a lovely ball it’s just angling in towards the off Stomp and then just straightening a little to beat the offsite outside edge rather through to the keeper like Jamie McGuire bu beautifully today you’re talking about it in between the games how do you choose a bowling lineup for the Irish team at the moment it’s really difficult to select a team I think there’s some younger players coming through nice slower delivery that one from Jan Maguire some younger Bowlers that are starting to put their hands up the lik of tector and mnti who we’ve already seen here two some Spinners Amy Maguire and Freya sergeant and then who’s who gets the new ball lots of uh difficult choices to be made for those series coming up Sri Lanka in August and England in September really looking forward to those tournaments or not tournaments those series that a good series across the country as you say man we got their test match coming up at the end of this month but then two big series and mean haven’t really talked about it that yeah games have taken place here but lots to play for it and now I got a World Cup to go to unfortunately but lots to play for for these players out here want to put in performances here that’s Ed again little that must be four or five of those nine lives up by now the key is she swings hard doesn’t she she never holds back L little and usually when you swing hard you you give yourself a chance to take the thick Edge as opposed the Little Feather it’s in a really good fight back this from the scor y that’s a nice shot in the leg side again but it’ll be fielded by gby Lewis which keeps it down to one see yeah they fought back really well here as we mentioned I think I possibly overly estimated that they could have doubled their score after 12 for 13 overs scorers have got those two wickets which were crucial little bit of a hesitation there between the two patters but always an easy single there but again a good over from Jen McGuire as you say she’s bowled really well particularly this afternoon there few change ups and B in different times in the Innings as well which is always a good skill as well she goes through wickless fair enough but 20 runs just conceded from her four overs say she p in the power play middle overs and then one there number 18 which is never easy and that’s a good return from Jan Maguire just four singles from that over exactly what the Scorchers would want and with two overs to go now the dragons will be looking for a big finish here they got to get surely a couple of boundaries in these last 12 balls won’t be easy though Al tor’s back that’s nicely played by Lulu little just uses the pace and the extra bit of Bounce but sh Woods comes around and cuts it off it didn’t really kick on after it bounced there that shot I thought it was going to run away but yeah that’s one of the few we haven’t seen really especially in the in the way the shot was played it kind of looked as if it was just going to kick on as you say I think as well when you play it across the square the square is so long here or so wide in malide it’s almost like it acceler but that one obviously going over the square and edged and G yeah those lives have run out now was confident there and that’s again nicely bowled from Jack to the shorter ball on the previous delivery and that one well pitched up she did something similar in her last over ped it up and just moved it away from the right hander and this time L little does get a neck through to the keeper 14 from 11 for Lulu little it was a good length delivery this one L little just playing too straight manages to Edge the ball she shuffled legs side and trying to give herself room but all she could do was find the edge so it’s arene Kelly who comes out now for the dragons and you know she’s very very accomplished batter so she’s definitely someone that you are happy to have coming out at this point in the game she’s a boundary hitter L little dropped on five she just made 14 so not too costly that one for the scorches the anything is that sometimes when you have someone like aren Kelly who’s the proven boundary hitter you’re thinking hm should we have taken that Wicket we don’t really want her right here at this situation exactly what I was just thinking you know um the best thing would be to just get her right I think straight away that would be a way of doing it that’s what I will be aiming for it heading back straight away Kelly def F Hector a little bit too quick for Kelly there she might have been somewhat surprised by the short of delivery caught up very high on the bat yeah Al’s team to have taken Harry’s words hard she’s pulled quite a few deliveries just a little bit short of length but she does seem to be getting the ball through a little bit quicker here today whether it’s the surface or just being in good rhythm little tickle down leg side well directed by EA Fisher classy shot that brings her to 14 from 16 Al Tech be disappointed by this yeah just drifting into that leg Stomp and as you say very nicely played Fisher doesn’t need to any more than just a little glance on that it’s going to run away with the field given the opportunity to play on the leg side she’s taken that and got a boundary interesting you say that uh Alice has maybe falling a little bit more quickly today I think she’s got a few yards that she can put on from here she’s only only 15 that’s it there’s a slower delivery just about manages oh no didn’t manage to keep it inside no but I’m afraid that’s just going to be she’s going to have to put up with that people will assume that she’s played for you know she’ll be in her 20s she’s played for four or five years already she’s only 15 and you know when she reaches 20 she’ll have played for almost half of her half of her life nearly unfortunately her age but there plenty to come seen today good to see her able to get that movement this lady L on in the Innings I think that that was through the air maybe a little bit off the pitch as well but it was definitely through the air I I think as well she’s she’s going to probably follow the path of Elise Perry where Elise Perry was very much a bowler first and batter second um but the longer that you you’re in a professional setup you can become about an allrounder I’m not sure that in Irish Cricket she would be kept out of uh out of the top order like Elise Perry was yeah I have another little misfield from NE mnal there the the scorge is just looking a little bit tired out in the middle one over remaining in the Innings 123 for four teor finishes her spell two for 29 little bit unlucky to go for 29 couple of misfields offer bowling and just one or two po deliveries going for four that probably aren’t reflective of how well she’s bow today as we will see her batting at number three I would think we saw her this morning then really exciting young cricketer coming through it’s going to be from one teenager to another for the final over NE mnti Bing this one does mean that when they go away in that trip next week they’ve got two Bowlers that can bow in the in the power play and then at the back end as well very handy for Albert vanura the Irish under 17 coach well very much so if you can rely on two Bowlers who have had the experience of bowling at this level both as you say in the power play for six and then last two to death it’s a definite skill there’s no doubt about it to be able to bow it to death um irrespective of who’s baton really you’ve got to go through your your skills mark it there and the man’s team has obviously shown he’s developed big time over the past few years in the last couple of overs he comes on to ball goes through his variations so to just learn these skills really useful and to have two girls under 17 doing it really excellent for Ireland looking push for two here that’s good running for Fisher think she was the instigator there called that early and that’s really good to see she’s out with a very experienced cricketer she called two very early there yeah excellent running because actually Arlene Kelly’s not that quick between the wickets but she doesn’t have to be because she’s running to the the non- danger end EA Fisher got out the blocks quickly never should have been too really he’d be disappointed as Clare Weber down here at long on that they got that too and need MN to get falling another good dot value so valuable at this stage in the game to be able to Bow dot balls Aran Kelly definitely eyeing up the the long off area because mid off is the Fielder that’s up midwicket has gone back she was up inside the ring long on midwicket Square leg cover the for eyes well just doesn’t use her front half there and need M NY so after bowling a lovely dot BS a wide gives it back yeah yes he’s looking as you mentioned there covering that leg side fielders all around the boundary on the leg side just a one outed deep cover on the off there was a discussion between Leopold and Gabby Lewis there where they ch changing their plan long off’s going back Gabby Lewis is heading out there they’re going to bring Square leg in Ellie McGee that is a more difficult shot for AR and Kelly to hit to square unless NE melti falls short that’s where she goes she’s actually got it in front of the deep midwicket so she actually pulled that in front I thought maybe she would go backward where that Fielder had been brought in but she goes over midwicket picks up the boundary good clean hit from Kelly as you mentioned when she came in certainly a boundary header you get a few more before the end of this Innings that’s a clean shot down the ground work to do for Lewis but even she’s not going to get round to that that’s a clean hit from on Kelly brilliant a day she waited for that magnificently it was a very slow slow so she had time to change her shot went Above The High Line and then it was quick thinking from umpire Willie Clark to get out of the way it was Matrix like and uh straight as a die right between those fielders they’re quite wide especially um especially Clare Weber here at long on she’s quite wide so there was no chance to cut that one off back to back fours in this final over it comes the reverse the option for me set a clean ball here Kelly very odd that you hit two fours in front playing down the ground and and you know that even magn is going to try and bow fall based on the field that she’s set why not just try and repeat the death for me that was a shot straight back down in the ground again tries it this time and hits another lovely shot into the covers and Gabby Le again to your left this time that just makes that reverse sweep seem so much more out of character because three shots there in the last four deliveries we’ll see this one which was the last ball hit as clean as a whistle through the covers three boundaries those last four balls has catapulted that total up to 138 Kelly makes a quick far 15 from Seven as you said when she can the B maybe it wasn’t the best idea to get her right there she’s just taking that last over really good over for the dragons 15 from it yeah she’s SC all of her runs in that final over and the dragons would be thinking why did we not get her out there sooner 15 from Seven uh Fisher a nice little hand from her 16 from 18 but she also ran really well which you don’t see in the figures it’s something that um really impressive because she’s clearly tactically aware a good display from the dragons pigas 3934 so she’s a top scorer for the day she was together with green for a long time 24 from 26 for her and then a handy little partnership at the end Fisher and Kelly 16 and 15 from them respectively to get the dragons of 238 for just four wickets they are the Partnerships so Spence went pretty early then Pras and green came together for the 72 and a couple of Partnerships with little and Fisher and then fiser with Kelly helped to elevate the score this very much an ebbing inning from the dragons there’s your scorcher bowling lineup just the five Bowlers used definitely the pick at the top there Alis teor two for 29 um in terms of wickets and runs there she’s going into 7.25 and actually Those runs probably a little bit more than her bowling probably deserved and also down there Amy McGuire 1 for 18 I thought she pulled really well and along with her sister Jan the two of them also pulled really well eight overs one for 38 between them generally pulled pretty well the Scorchers but just that last over na mcol just went for a few and has taken up the dragons to 138 for four there’s your match summary pagas with 39 green 34 and in nice little partnership at the end there as you mentioned is he between EA fiser and AR Kelly takes them up to 138 for four so the last Innings of the EV start the last Innings of the day the scorches having been in the field they’ll be batting and they require 13 9 runs to register their second win in the of the day second win in the conversation uh in the tournament and indeed they won’t stop the dragons winning the trophy they’ve already done enough for that but there’s a matter of personal Pride for the scorches at the stage celest that’s right and we saw they they played quite well last game they’ll be full of confidence following that win but that said it’s it’s quite a large total that’s been set by the dragons and we saw the dragons do a lot a lot of things with the bat that we would have liked to see the other two teams do earlier in the day yeah very positive Innings from the dragons they were missing Amy Hunter from that lineup but all ofast moved up to opener she did a super job scoring 39 runs he got them off to a good start but again it’s been a hard track to score on it has been and Claudia green was very impressive in my opinion she came in with all the pigas from ball one went really hard at the ball was quite Innovative um we haven’t seen a whole lot of her with the bat and she really relished the opportunity to get up the order now opening the batting for the scorches is’s CLA Weber she’s accompanied by Gabby Lewis the opening bowler will be all aast but play Weber well she had too many dot balls in the first game of the day we felt it was really All or Nothing who feast or famine with with Clare Weber in that first innings was nothing but um fours or dots and we saw in the first Innings that just the power that regularly rotating the strike had and it seemed like they could never settle in the field the the scorches so hopefully Clare Weber can take a few learnings from that and put the same pressure on the dragons all say top scored for the dragons in the first Innings but the support that she got from Claudia green not only in providing her with the strike but also with being so positive herself the two of them did really well a good delivery from prar getting that one to seam back into Weber keeps it out but another dot ball this is exactly what we were talking about with Clare Weber exactly and I think all prendas is a very tough match up for her CLA Weber likes with she likes to free her hands she’s not really known for a huge amount of foot movement um so all Pras bringing the ball back in really tight Lines Just sharp enough to be problematic uh is going to be quite a challenge for CLA Weber there again that tight line tight line that she’s just coming getting back into Weber you know and the fielders are on that leg side they’re wide awake they’re really in on top of the delivery Weber hasn’t really looked like scoring a run at the moment and I’d like to see it if nothing else just sort of take the ball down to third or tuck it around the corner and try and get off the mark try and get off strike and try and start rotating and picking up those singles cuz well a lot of singles added together suddenly becomes a good score that’s right they don’t want to be looking at the scoreboard and seeing it creeping up higher and higher that big shot that we were saying with CLA Weber it seems to be all duck or no dinner I suppose is the old saying I like that it’s a low percentage against all of prast with the length that she bowls and the amount of SE swing that she gets coming back in late it’s not an easy shot um she would have had time to do her homework on prust as well you you know what she’s going to bowl she’s not going to surprise you too much she’s going to bowl that those big in swingers bit of pace mix up a lengths a bit there we go Gabby Lewis calls through for the single umpire signals it as leg by but even that is I don’t mind that it does r take the strike it gets it gets the scoreboard moving again yeah so they’re on the off off the mark and they’re on the their way in pursuit of that 139 needed for victory the other thing to mention here of course with the absence of Amy Hunter is the dragons have Lucy M granahan as keeper so it’ be interesting to see how she performs for sure it’s a great opportunity for her to get to keep to keep to the likes of ol prast who has bowled a brilliant ball there to Lewis gettinger on the back leg good appeal from prar ends her first over and here is is that delivery this is where you can play I Am the Umpire and unfortunately for prast because she’s moving the ball so much it’s very hard for the Umpire to definitively give her a wicket potentially a little bit high as well and that one certainly seemed to be jagging back enough to miss the leg stump that’s it ire Steve Wood unmoved by the appeal so at the end of the first over score two without loss Alana Delle will be the bowler of the second over and she’s impressed during this tournament Alana delal a player who’s always been considered to have great potential but since the Advent of the contract she’s put in a lot of hard work she’s been able to do a lot more training down in Dublin and it’s great to see a bowler who moves the ball away because we don’t have a huge amount of away swingers no there seems to be a lot of bringing it back into the right hander that’s it you can see their lovely shape superb movement there just enough to take it away from the edge of the batch leis will remind her feet that they need to wake up for the away swinger oh what a super delivery that was Lewis looking to play it out the leg side instead of straight back down the pitch and that can’t have missed by an awful lot so well bowled from delzell little bit of everything there super delivery but yes the Advent of of the central contracts I think has has seen a great Improvement in the standards because people can train more often because they can be in the gym more often it seems to have been a great help to to wounds Cricket for sure and it’s exciting to see players like Atlanta delz from the Northwest well with you’re playing T20 or test match cricket that is a super shot it’s gone through the covers and run down towards the Nets Gabby Lewis just piercing the field I don’t think a Fielder moved by the time the ball had crossed the boundary no I don’t think they did and that’s brilliant from Lewis head’s in a beautiful position she gets a feet across that time able to counter the away swing that’s a danger of Lewis no matter how much that run rate Creeks up she keeps him in the game another good ball attacking the stumps this time it’s punched down the ground and they look for two they get through for the second run handily enough that was another very good ball attacking the stum but Lewis playing it with a very straight B straight back down the ground’s another name that may not have been in the conversation a year and a half ago about the new ball for Ireland but well certainly especially if she keeps bowling like this will certainly be in the mix be on selector Minds senior management team of the Irish Squad there we go as you say the difference between getting the ball coming into the right-hander and just getting it to leave them like she is this is fabulous bowling makes her a great foil to penas at the other end as well you can just imagine the two of them discussing a game where the wind is howling from left to right or right to left across the pitch and choosing which end they want at least they won’t be fighting each other yeah until it becomes I’m getting too much movement can I now go the other way that’s a problem for a captain not for us not for them and that’s two overs gone now and 10 on the board and the good news there for the scorches is even though that’s probably the best over of ever seen Alana Del Bowl they still managed to take eight runs off it again Those runs scored by Gabby Lewis but yes it was a very good over and she was getting lovely movement one wonders how many overs the ball will continue to assist her in that way as allar now to start her second over and the third over of this reply well we saw a couple of bouncers in the first Innings Jane Maguire and Alice tea in fact that Bouncer from Alice tcta was possibly the best one we’ve seen today because it really was head high and it would make you think twice as a bat certainly and it’s great to see and all the Pras has been bowling a lot more of them in the last few weeks than I’ve seen a bowl throughout a career another Super delivery well taken by the keeper that was traveling through she took that with her hands reversed great opportunity for young Dragons Keeper to get to keep to one of the better Bowlers well one one of the best ballers in Ireland and some would argue one of the best Bowers in the world well she’d certainly be in a conversation now another good delivery that Weber has swung out and missed another dot ball Weber needs a plan here doesn’t you Craig again stop trying to clear the ropes start trying to just get Bat on Ball I think would be the advice I’d I’d offer not not that I’m any great knowledge or Oracle of cricket but uh where we’re at the moment she just needs to get going I feel that’s beating the fielder in the ring and it will run out to the rope and that squeez it out that’s Weber Off the Mark she picks up her first boundary but it’ss up down interpers with dot balls that’s it just like we were discussing last game um there doesn’t seem to be a clear single plan to straight ball on the stumps which is what you know you’re going to get from all the prast that said as we know as we’ve seen with Weber when she gets width she is very adapted throwing her hands at the ball and and quite strong through the offside that’s much better than Weber much better just tucking that one into the leg side and getting through for the quick single brings a partner back on strike she can be very happy with that sequence of two balls there four and then cleverly puts the ball away for one off the hip PR SC Lewis this is one of the top matchups you can have in Irish WS Cricket hard to take your eyes off this one it’s not really getting across to that as a result played over the top of it it’s almost harder to play when the ball doesn’t move from prast in this um this stage of the match that’s that’s how you get those edges through to Keepers is you play for the movement and it’s not there well B and well played Super straight back from Lewis keeping that one out it’s the end of the over prar just two overs gone now and just six runs coming from it including that four from Clare Weber in that over and after three overs the scor has moved on 16 without loss and I think it’s that without loss that Scorchers will be quite pleased with at the moment they’re putting down a good base to chase down the 139 that they require and how they’d love to finish today with two wins against the two teams that finished above them it’ be a great day for them wouldn’t it but I agree with you there Craig um the wicked of Lewis still being intact is a huge factor for them in this game we know that she’s the she’s the danger woman in terms of track tracing down a high total chasing seven or eight in over doesn’t worry her in the slightest as long as she’s still there well there’s a mix up of calls there a direct hit would have been and she’s out she is out it came off the Keeper’s gloves onto the stumps and that’s the end of CLA Weber and that was unnecessary it was a shame as we started to see Weber get going but Lewis was firm there and hello couldn’t help but think right from Le to send we back in that situation well I think the results showed that it was the right call to send her back it’s a shame because I’d like to like to have seeing Clare Weber sort of getting into a stride just by taking a few singles here and there Lewis was a long way down the track before she was sent back and that is fabulous play and that was all a Pras with the ball um there at point which would have really fed into Gabby Lewis’s decision to send clayber back as well absolutely there’s no keeping prast out of the game Alice tector is the next bat in for the scorches and this is a partnership that scorches will hope will go long into the Innings this will be a great challenge to see Alis tea take on she has battered really well and she hasn’t quite yet cracked the 100 strike rate throughout her two two or three innings three so in this Chase there’s a little bit more pressure on her to score than what there was last match we all know she’s capable and with Gabby Lewis at the other end it’s she’s got go she plays a lot of cricket with both at the Phoenix Club now yes they uh they would have battered together and netted for many hours between Club cricket and Super Series it won’t be long before that meeting up his teammates on the international team I reckon nice bit of Fielding well we’ve had a run out in that area already yeah again on high alert with all aenas to as we’ve said is always in the game but positive first shot there for Alis tector Z Bowling really well now she got hit for the E in that first over but this over she’s already picked up a wicket Pras again does the Fielding firmly hit shot on another day a yard either side may have run away for four but not today not past all of prast it’s quite a clever tactic you don’t often see all the pust here the dragons are just sticking with tried and tested we know this works let’s go with this yeah you’re right two very different contrasting ways of of setting up bowling Innings but when you when you see Pras and delz balling so well in combination it’s it’s hard to disrupt that I know it’s T20 but it’s and a lovely shot there from Lewis behind Square on the offside runs away to the boundary having beaten deselle in the ring but yes they’re they’re pacing this Innings quite well and that was just width width and put away and Gabby Lewis as we’ve as we’ve alluded is strong in many areas but width is the one area that she has no risk at all when she plays that shot you’d much rather have to play a ball over the leg side this time searching for the edge of Lewis’s bat was past and it wasn’t a million miles away a little tighter this is one of the things about being the Marquee bowler as well is that teams are are very wary of you then and sort of their concern is to see you off yeah and and then hopefully they’re thinking well we’ll get the runs against other Bowlers perhaps sometimes playing a team where you don’t know anyone is easier when you just play the ball as it is rather than building up a certain bowler in your head Lou Little with the fine stop in the covers yes the dragons Fielding so far has actually been quite Sharp the Lulu little Kari combination there at cover he quite useful Lulu is a great athlete has a really really strong arm as well very useful on the boundary that’s it she searching for the edge of the bat on this occasion she got it a little turn around to the Umpire it wasn’t an overwhelming appeal but only because they knew she was out that’s right and great catch there from mcgranahan lot of pressure on all aenas bowling scorch’s strongest strongest B that can turn the game has given a chance and she takes the catch like it’s nothing so very impressive from her well that leaves the scorches with a bit of difficulty now Gabby Lewis and Clare Weber back in the hutch and this is why Lewis is there just the faintest of touch is but it was quite obvious to the naked eye no need for sniko there and that will bring Leo Paul to the Middle with the side in a little bit of trouble now in the pursuit of this 139 that they need to record their second win this aoke super 20 trophy competition dragons are the champions no matter what the result is here and at the moment they’re playing like Champions they are and that’s a lot to do with all the pigas involvement but a lot still needs to be said for how the young players from the north have responded and have supported all of prast and few the senior players it’s been impressive to see a mainly Northern team um have more and more depth every year it’s great to see nice neat catch from The Keeper as well no nerves shown by a grahan to the man of born I’d say she she looks like a keeper he’s doing a super job for a side at the moment well fielded there from EA Fisher Leo Paul has had a very successful Super Series so far in the T20 competition usually an opening batter coming down the order a little bit more really found herself at home and has been able to expand a game more than what we would have seen from her in the past hitting straighter hitting harder still playing lovely Square well looks like we’re going to see the first bowling change we’re out of the power play now of course oh sorry one over to go of the power play and a change of bowling we’ll see Claudia green coming on for that final over of the power play oh she was impressive with the bat she sure was and it feels like so much has happened in these five overs it’s hard to believe it’s only the fifth five gone Claudia green opting to remain over the Wicket the the left-hander and getting a huge amount of Swing there that’s gone a long way she is known from bringing the ball away to the Leander I think that was more than what anyone expected certainly more than K Murray expected it slip suddenly realized the ball was in her vicinity keeper managed to get across she’s had to Bow a foot outside leg stump to make sure that that didn’t go well outside the off there it’s almost trying to bowl around the legs she’s getting that much swing and Le’s in a bit of strife there that’s hitter in the mid riff as one of those ones you shake off telling it to toughen up Craig well as I say it’s it’s it’s this is the time now when you when you see the mental part of the game definitely the played it very well and you just you don’t you don’t want the other team to see any weakness in you do you don’t you got to kind of Shake It Off and get on with it she did that super well so often you see a batsman getting pinged by the ball and the next ball they’re looking for the big six and try and reestablish their authority over the bowler and it often gets them out but on this occasion Paul playing like a captain and just Dro that one down on the offside and took two as leopol scores in areas that you’d expect of left-handers um yeah has had a very good series car’s about very low in her St it’s green just trying something a little different it didn’t come off on this occasion run rate required now has crept over eight which once again is nothing too much to worry about scoring Ag and over for the next 14 overs that’s where the the difficulty comes in it’s a it’s a long time to have to score at that rate and when you look at the two current batters all just in three or five and Tor yet to score off for five balls it’s a it’s tall order to ask of the two and you have to say the dragons bowling lineup is really strong one well it’s a four piece of Fielding there in mid off Molly Divine giving away that single after lots of pressure being applied by car Murray up until that point no Kai McCartney today off spinner not in the 11 and I was surprised to see Claudia green given that first over out of the power or that last over in the power play I think uh maybe another one for Alana do or even Cara Marie definitely Aran Kelly is a good option in there as well so for sure she would have been the one I would have thrown the ball to I think two extra covers for Alice Tor big Edge and that’s got some Pace on it it’ll run away I think they’re going to look to cut it off but they won’t manage to get there though Off the Mark with a boundary not where she intended but the results the same yeah she take that and as he mentioned there about the field very similar tactics to the the earlier game packing that off side leaving big gaps on the leg te was happy to go through off but on that occasion takes the neck they’ even taken out fine leg now it’s come into short third ball H that off stomp that one’s two way though given away too focused on up alling down leg side so she’s yeah gone too far outside the off stump very much uh strong offside field six fielders over there two fielders in the Deep on the leg side on midon so lots of space on offside field it does tell the bowler that you must ball outside off stump you really you cannot afford to go leg side at all because there’s so much space out there and it really tends to make the bowler ball so far outside the off stump that it almost negates the stumps and and takes a whole method of dismissal couple of methods of dismissal out of the out of the equation so it’s not just field placing it’s the it’s the mindset that you give to a bowler you must ball in this area so going to be Claudia green again a ball a little bit wward in her opening over well I’m I’m surprised that um she didn’t find it easier to bow to the left hander because she does shaped the ball away from the left hander that can make it a little bit easier with your lines that’s a nice line that she’s found there they do have caramay in Catching position in cover yeah that’s the spot that should be looking for you can see the it’ll be in a away swing to the Leander just going in into that and he doesn’t want to give too much width though now he’s got a bit of protection on the cover boundry night that’s Ariel going to be safe though out to that cover boundary Fielder a little light there they should look to play that leg siid ball lots of movement in the air laaia green say she should really trying to play her on to the off side when she’s facing her Tor can think about going legs side because she’s obviously the right hand of B Green will be swinging it into her stumps into her pads as well yeah probably because of that they have kept an extra Fielder on the leg side at midwicket Carmer stayed in position not a swing there but well covered by tector just got to be careful here Scorchers in terms of run rate wanted to get too much further we’re now just kicked up it here and really really want to keep that in check from now want to take it any higher than that shorter ball after all yeah they’re currently just below fives and required run rate every delivery doesn’t go for at least one if not two that’s climbing you can’t you don’t want to have to go at eights or nines or TENS for a full 12 overs but that’s where they’re finding themselves scorches four from just nine from Tor and they’re keeping the field up on the offside for her so there’s no easy single to rotate the strike soly an area that needs Improvement across the three teams is that rotation of strike finding a away that’s the top players like we saw or past earlier today when she was on strike if it wasn’t there to hit through she found way to get it down to third or into the leg Side by and large and got herself off strike yeah definitely something that the three coaches and the analysts will be looking at is that turnover top ball percentage is something certainly really need to to look at in terms of moving the game forward Ward here getting those scores up into the the 140 pluses 160s it’s not just about hitting boundaries yes they’re part of the game of course they are but if you can take over the ones negating those dot balls were five in that last over just that one over has moved the required run rate to exactly eight and a half that’s the impact that that can have car Murray will continue should have a really good first over good control is probably the best I’ve seen a star spell in this T20 competition she was impressive in the earlier 50 hour game up in Belmont that we watched just as I say it’s a full toss but the aole can’t make her pay for it yeah gets away with that one you’re facing karur you’re any leg spinner for that matter you really have to have a plan for the full tosses because you know you’re going to get them there’s another one and she’s found the space on the legs side hit with good power leopole something we’ve talked about time and time again in this series is just how much power she’s added to her game it’s just bounced in front of Lulu little there yeah real difficult ball for he’s little out on the boundary there really hit with a lot of power you can see it just dips in front of her really difficult to get anything on that and really to be honest with you didn’t deserve to be stopped in a way it wasn’t that far away from her was it it was just hit with such power it’s an excellent comeback though that’s a much better delivery proven that off stomp I think that’s something we’ve really seen today is when fielders have maybe made a mistake a mfield or something they’ve been you can see they’re really disappointed in themselves they have high expectations of their fielding and no one more so than lud little who really does take pride in her Fielding PCH down the ground from Leo Alice Tor needs to get something going here she just has that one boundary that came off the edge that’s been her by Arlen Kelly who hit 15 in that over this field again atel just can’t seem to quite get it right here today good work in the Deep for blulu little though good quick pick up and throw keeps it to just one yeah good cover on the boundary that’s when you just need somebody to help you out there he does the assistance for Tel he let that through again last ball of the ninth def little touch they’re not going to take a single though I don’t think that’s a high percentage shot for Leo this maybe put in the back pocket so good dot to close out that one for Caray six runs in the over and after nine the scores are 43 for two they’ve lost two wickets already Weber who had a h of a Time facing oenas eventually was run out by Pras rather than being got out Lewis as well didn’t look her fluent s and was eventually caught by wi Keeper mcgran of the bowling of Pras who was Supreme in her opening spell tector and Paul the two batterers out there now five and 15 for them yeah to be fair those three overs from pagas was a was a good watch when we were just sitting over on the bench to the right here it’s definitely good to see her bowling from the sideline yeah wouldn’t fancy too Keen to be there especially because of the Way She Moves In moves the ball into the right hander you can find yourself peppered there’s a big appeal I think that must have clipped the pad obviously hit something because ire Willy Clark’s not signaling a wide yeah I wasn’t so sure from more in front each point here but good bit away though it just clipped that’s excellent good length just clipping the top of off had she missed it there alect that’s where you want to live as a an inswing bowler in particular yeah plenty of movement you can see here starts off well wide of the off Stomp and you in terms of ability which clearly a hun is and sometimes you don’t get that many opportunities so it’s a real good one for her today and despite that one in the last over he’s done really well so far take that one there something to work on there was her feet there you can see just not quite well spread apart as the a little bit more relaxed in our setup let the ball come through to the gloves yeah there’s definitely a bit of footwork work needed but by and large she catches the ball and hands are good and uh stops The Bu takes she took that run out I think it was deflected off her clothes wasn’t it straight from Kelly standard delivery morning Kelly was 50 up there with that single and in the 11th over just much too slow from the scorches if they’re going to try and win this one forther 89 required from 56 deliveries it’s a very tall task they need three from every two deliveries pretty much and as we talked about it’s a pretty experienced lineup the dragons have there’s an argument could say that this dragons bow lineup could represent arand I suppose because they all have done pretty much so yeah it’s interesting when they’re making the teams and obviously we know the dragons are the you know they most of the northern players in their squad but the three teams are quite well balanced in terms of their bowling lineups in particular yeah it’s definitely become that the as the competition’s progressed Le over has gone 51 for two as the competition’s progressed it’s been first of all the Fielding improving and then the bowling now definitely improving it’s the batting where maybe it’s a little bit further behind don’t have quite as many to level batters that will improve now because the bowling standard at training is going to be better so it just L tends to lag a little bit behind the batting especially in women’s cricket the last one to to pick up but as you say as each standard improves as the Fielding improves then batting go also improve because you’ve got to pick gaps a little bit better and keep it away from the fielders and not hit the ball in the air so much as you were getting away with it as you looted to sort of a youth Cricket maybe you do get away with it a little bit CL Green’s going to keep going here there is that ball that we talked about at the end of the last over which almost teor kicked away but inadvertently that time TOS goes through to the keeper takes the wide and the bowling standard has certainly improved in the last couple of Seasons nicely clipped Away by Alice Tor is starting to look a bit more comfortable still not scoring at a high enough rate but it’s definitely improved her scoring race since her first 10 or 11 balls Irish and National cup games on today Phoenix are facing CI YMS in one semi-final order they’ve left this this run till very late uh we’re starting to see signs these two are trying to attack the OPP’s hit some great shots in the last couple of overs so we’ll see what they can do that’s not the start that Lou Little would have wanted to H spell five wides to start with that’ll be a big help for the scorches they’re still in pursuit of this one 39 they need 63 required now from Seven overs nine and over as we know Craig it only takes one huge over that can change the whole course of the match and starting off with five ws is not ideal so leol will be looking to capitalize here that one beautifully tapped away off her legs fine for four runs another thought we’ve only had one ball and nine runs from it you’ve got a feel a bit for Louise little it’s tough coming on at this stage of the match and starting with five wides and then not getting your line right a second ball is is tough well this is the thing we’ve we’ve spoken about it before the lack of left-handers in the Irish women’s game and so even as a bowler you have to get used to bowling to these left-handers yeah definitely she’s got a line a lot lot better there nice and straight well that was better but again even that delivery from Little was outside the leg stomp of the left-hander which would have been a super bow for a right-hander exactly now the challenge is not to bow down leg the right hander yes indeed it is you see the equation on your screen there now 40 balls remaining 58 required that’s well bowled there little this seem to be a lack of footwork there from Tor didn’t come across to that one and and resulted in a just sort of throwing the bat towards the ball which always sort of the dodgy way of of doing it because the chances of an edge fairly High you very little control or power once that back gets that far away from the body and te is quite quite a traditional cricketer and that’s a super super delivery from liel and it has taken the edge of the batch and again the keeper has made a catch look very simple she has she’ll be delighted with how she’s managed to keep so far with the loss of Amy Hunter it seemed seemingly was a big hole in on the side but um the way that she’s managed to keep and the way that the other batters have managed to fill in fill in the batting order doesn’t feel like it’s that big a loss well another Wicket Falls three down now and that partnership was starting to build they put on 61 and that was a fabulous partnership that was needed but this ball here just taking the edge of the bat keeper was almost appealing before she took it but Lucy M doing a super job behind the sticks filling in for Amy Hunter today they almost haven’t missed Amy they haven’t and yeah which which is is hard to believe really with the with the presence that Amy has but um it’s great to see the depth that is there in the north and how these players have managed to fill in and still post a total like this and still take wickets without Amy Hunter we talk about the Super Series providing opportunities four players and you can be sure that the ones who have come in on the dragon side today four changes from last time they played they’re all Keen to impress and stake a claim for games in the 50 over competition that’s right and it’ll be hard to choose an 11 for the dragons um when the 550 over comp comes around if there’s if there’s everyone available well with the demise of Alice tector Christina cter Riley has come to the middle Wick keeper for the scorches she’s not going to have much time to get her ey in here she’s going to have to go from ball one and that is what she’s done cracked through Extra cover for four runs and that is a super shot gets off four off two balls you see here I don’t know there was too much wrong with the delivery bit of width maybe allow her to free our arms punch it through Extra cover where it hit the boundary at the same Pace it left the bat and those who’ve been following Club Cricket over the last couple of years have seen that Christina cter rally is very capable of big scores at a quick rate she has she’d be quite disappointed that she hasn’t shown us everything she can do in this super series but today could perhaps be an opportunity for that LE Paul playing the captain’s Innings she’s on 36 at the moment from just 29 deliveries and she starts this over from Cara Murray with a boundary this could be the over that Lea Paul chooses to really attack here K Murray hasn’t quite got her length right today and she’ll see this as an opportunity to score some runs difficult for the leg spinner with the left hander and especially one that comes down the track like that turns it into a full toss and despite there being two fielders in the vicinity well there was no chance of stopping that boundary four more runs and this time played away on the offside and they’ll just jog through for a single another one onto the total this gets the rander on strike so again Murray has to adjust I think she’d be far happier bowling to the right-hander though than the left-hander it’s always lovely being able to spin the ball away from the batter 90 on the board 49 required just 5.4 overs to go C is very strong through wide long off so there’s that Gap there that’s quite significant between squarish Extra cover and mid off that she’ll be looking to Target if she gets width and length but she doesn’t oh nice take by The Keeper of the return yeah when you look at it one way and you sort of say well there are five overs after this one left they still need 48 about 10 and over that’s that’s a tough ask but when you see it on the screen 48 balls 33 deliveries it looks possible doesn’t it doesn’t look that frightening that one just pushed down the ground sensible single rotating the strike keeping the scoreboard ticking over the deeper that scorches take this the more chance they have of pulling off this this win exactly 10 and over for three or four overs isn’t isn’t so bad it’s just how can they get themselves into a position that is very winnable and that’s a great shot from cter riy cter riy finding the boundary wide midwicket certainly the rods are flowing for the scorches in a way that they haven’t done today and again having no midwicket on the ring just means that there is so much space out there if you get enough of the ball it’s quite an easy shot if M’s a little bit short and area of strength a lot of room out there this time Murray throwing down the SEMA almost just trying to push on through with a bit more Pace it went down wide it’s not a bad plan changing the pace but yeah it’s it’s tough to get it right nicely driven down the ground Co riy runs 34 of a run choose to return that’s the end of the over M’s three overs now have cost 24 there is the scorches card Leah Paul’s been the stand out of the Batters with a real Captain’s knock of 42 off 32 she’s kept them in the game here um we’ve got Weber who was out early Lewis looked impressive while she was in tcta was able to get stay with Paul and provide a partnership there but really these two are going to be the on if they’re going to take this to the end and this is what we were talking about with how close this actually is we thought that you know the game was being strangled and the the dragons were doing a good job of just suppressing the scorch’s reply but a few losty blows mainly from Leo Paul have seen it to a situation now whereby as you saw on the worm the two lines pretty much on top of each other now definitely yeah it’s 2020 is one of those games where you’re never you’re never as far away as what you think L Del cell on for her third over if C riy is able to do what we’ve all seen her do in club Cricket we know she’s there to support Paul and this is this is the possibility this is something that we find out about players with this super series the Step Up from Club to this level it is a big step up you don’t get as much loose deliveries don’t get as many chances perhaps uh and it’s good to see people transferring Club form into the Super Series for sure and it’s a big sign of growth for a lot of these players who may have struggled to score in this environment in the past nice bit of Fielding in the Deep by Millie Spence keeps that one down to a single saves three runs that’s a good positive Cricket there from cter riy as well hitting gaps hard and that brings up the 100 for the scorches 15.2 overs still require 39 runs off 28 the way these two are batting it looks like we’re in for a thrilling finish to this evoke super 20 trophy says it’s actually not out of the Realms of possibility for the scorches now no that’s it Leo Paul’s continuing the form that she’d given us earlier in the season the one thing to mention from the dragon point of view all of crerar does still have an over left oh the invention was there and it picks up a single Paul trying to lap that one didn’t quite go as planned but good enough for a single the other thing that will be in the back of Paul’s mind is that if she’s to get out now that makes it significantly harder so while she wants to innovate and score quickly she can’t be throwing a wicket away or doing anything soft either doel not getting the same movement obviously as she did with the new ball they come through for two and that’s very well run they are pick up every run they possibly can now it’s a tough equation not impossible it’s been a fabulous competition this t21 it really has been and that is a one bounce four straight over midwicket doelle trying something a bit different at the end of her third over and instead she saw the ball disappearing to other parts of the ground that’s how quickly cter riy was on to this it’s a great shot there from cter riy it was nice how she waited she saw it was going to be a full toss and held her shot back played it at the right time he did really well there and now the equation 31 off 24 is looking very possible here that rate just over 7 and a half 7 and a half would tie my math doesn’t extend to 31 times table no mine doesn’t either no no no I was relying on you that Craig everything was on a calculator in my vintage yeah to my math teacher I’d like to say I do always have a calculator with me Cara Murray now last over was quite expensive and that’s a good bit of Fielding on the B combination of the two little it is who returns it in this is an interesting orbe it slightly risky bowling choice at this stage of the game always got to turn to experience but leg spin whil it can take wickets it can also be expensive this one played away on the offside and again two teammates combine just to keep it to a single you’re still looking for that big over really an over of 12 to 15 runs to really bring the scorches back into contention I still have that feeling in the back of my head that all aenar is over isn’t going to be the one that goes for 15 you’re right it’s it’s going to be hard to score more than seven or eight of all appren Gast you almost want to have some in reserve that one has beaten everybody including the keeper it bounces through it’s going to reach the rope and that is a big big delivery five wides it is we’ll see that delivery again it does mean that eight have come off the first two balls of this over and the scorches well could it be they’re about to drag this one back their way the odds would not have been on them a few overs ago but the way Paul and cter Riley have turned this around cter Ry now driving down on the ground she goes for the single there will be well run no danger in that single and now we’re down to almost a run a ball yeah it’s amazing how how quickly things can change at the halfway mark we had a little voxox around the place and most people choosing the dragons as the potential winners but Leia Paul C rilly they’re doing an Absolut fabulous job here another boundary through Extra cover beats the Fielder runs away for another four and now the equation very much in the scorch’s favor how quickly this game has turned around it’s really turned and and certainly big help has been Leah Paul who’s Now 51 off 37 you can have 36 overs bold and everything comes down to the last four that’s well bow from marur and that’s clever batting from Paul there she’s got almost got the runs she needs of this over and to take any risks now would be foolish that was a super shot you get the feeling that Molly Divine will be slightly disappointed they get through for another single and that’s the end of Murray’s spell and her four overs across 38 runs and it’s now less than a run a ball for three overs Cara Murray well four overs for 38 at 9 and a half no wickets today it was a it’s it’s a tough time to come on as a leg spinner I know you’ve got to Value the experience of Murray compared to some of the younger Bowlers but as a leg spinner it’s it’s not an easy time in the game to bowl to a left right hand combination you’re always there’s always more inherent risk with every everything that you bow and it hasn’t worked in her favor today 122 for three after 17 well by comparison the dragons were only 109 yeah they had a super last over we know that they scored 15 from that last over but it just shows how the Scorchers have really picked up the pace they really have since we returned to commentary it’s we’ve been there good luck CH L Delle then from the doblin road end and it’s out they were searching for that run Coter rilly couldn’t make her ground and the return was quick enough and again the keeper with some smart work and that’s a run out that really the Scorchers would have hoped to have avoided cter Riley she departs 19 from 10 deliveries well today will be a lot about Leo Paul it can’t really be over ated how much that 19 off 10 has been valuable scoring you know almost a 200 strike rate at the time when her team really needed her to push the push the Run rate on it’s been a great Innings from cter Riley the new bat coming in will be Shauna kaver Shauna who retired from the international side last year but still turning out in the Super Series where I think her Fielding to start with her encouragement in the field field and her experience has has proved a great advantage to the scorches certainly and while she hasn’t got as much of an opportunity with the Batters she would have had other years she does have the experience and the skill and the athleticism to bring this home she’s a great runner between wickets which will be valuable with Leo Paul who is one of the fastest Runners between wickets in the entire league her job is to get down that other end this it’s about giving the strike to leoo now primarily he badnesses bonus runs that sha a caver scores herself we be gratefully accepted 17 required doing exactly what was asked of it single off the first ball get the strike to neol the question is will all prast Bowl the N Bowl the 19th or the 20th traditional these days you see the best Bowlers bowling the 19th in the hope that they’ll leave an impossible job in that 20th over good shot back down the ground but there is a Fielder there and that one will just be a single was a good result for the dragons well leul really has carried the scorches here if you wanted the definition of a captain’s knock this would be it she taken the game deep kept aside in the game she timed it just right with her acceleration CER again I think started running the single before she hit the ball she was determined to get down the other end she’s exactly the right woman for this situation and almost would have criticized the scorches for bringing her in too late in the past um obviously the the aim is development as well in this series and shaa is at the Twilight years of her career but um in terms of having an experienced player out there in the middle in situations like this it’s great to have shaa great shot from leoole straight down the ground four runs that is a big help cracking shot you’ll see it here on replay just how straight she hits this she knew as soon as the ball left the bat that was going for four and not a huge amount wrong with that from Delle either no but it’s the last stage it’s it’s kind of trying to stem the flow of runs very difficult Cav is coming back for two leul at the danger end but no danger to her another two runs well they require eight from the last two overs we know one of them is from prast surely it will be this over surely it’s got to be this over discussions between well Captain Cara Murray over there all a prast Al Kelly I think it yep I think it’s prast to ball the 19th and it has to be in this situation it absolutely has to be now it’s sha aav who will be facing Club colleagues these two played a lot of cricket with each other over the years but the required run rate being less than a runner ball does take a lot of the pressure well you can afford here you can afford dot balls you don’t have to score off every ball you can see what kav was aiming for there she wanted it to go a bit finer than that she’s called for the two and she’s going to get the two that’s very well run brilliant running from cavinder there she’s brought about the fumble from the from the Fielder it’s amazing what you can get away with at the end of the yeah absolutely push and push hard put the Fielder Under Pressure cuz you know that if they jog through for a single there the Fielder would have picked that ball up CLE sure y she do it 100 times out of 100 she would have picked that up it’s just that extra pressure of knowing you have to get your skates on oh nice one throughs to the keeper have know with the swing of the bat but not much else no connection just don’t know with the bounce there getting it over the bat and that’s sort of an illustration of thin line between its success and failure she probably missed that by an inch she was an inch and a half away from edging it over the Keeper’s head and an inch a quarter away from edging it into the Keeper’s gloves doesn’t take much does it and again that’s very well bowled from prast lovely back of a length hitting the pitch hard she’s certainly doing our best to keep the dragons in this shorter ball K was coming down the track but but that one got past it just two balls two two runs from the first three balls of this over six required change of pace this time from brast kaver making sure that some bat was on it went down to sweep one of her favorite shots that’s for sure another one onto the board she’s done her job there and at five off eight Paul’s going to be looking to get these runs sorted as quickly as possible do you go after prast in in in search of these runs or do you just see out this over if there if there are three two good balls you just keep those out and trust that you can score five from the last over I know I’d certainly choose the conservative option but that doesn’t seem to be as much in favor these days people love finishing it off quickly well certainly if there any width Paul will take it on and she’s gone straight it won’t find the boundary but it’s two more to the total just three more required well this has been magnificent from the scorch’s middle order it has been and so impressive from Leo Paul who would have always been thought of as more the support roll batter who is so reliable and sa and safe and great at rotating the strike but wouldn’t be the one trying to hit all the prust over her head and she’s gone and worked on a batting worked on a game and shows she can win the game on her own really past putting one end the body but leol at this stage just able to play that down into the off field side field take the single that’s the end of prar spell one for 17 from four that was a good final over six coming from it the problem being that the scorches only need two now Al and Kelly will bow the final over with two runs required I don’t think there’s any need for fielders on the boundary now keeper just getting a helmet going to stand up to Kelly and the scatches will be happy with prast only only taking one Wicket managing to go for 17 runs they’ve scored off a few other Bowlers at at a much greater rate and they looked good and chose chose sensible options against or prast who can be very dangerous if they try and go after her it just goes to show how competitive this trophy has been now that the side that are finishing bottom have beaten both the other sides today with that shot that’ll be enough and the scorches record well what it once St looked like a very unlikely victory was very impressive Chase from the scorches the way they were able to turn it around and a real incredible Innings from Lea Paul well Leah Paul led her side from the front she scored 66 as the dragons couldn’t defend 138 and the scorches walk off with a second win of the day still finish at the bottom of the three teams but they’ve shown the other two teams we really are still here we’ve not gone away and it will make for a fascinating 50 over competition now for sure that it’s a huge psychological advantage getting those last two wins rather than losing every single game and having to turn it around for the other format well players all thanking the Umpire and they’ll be meeting up with the scorches of course the dragons now have the unenviable task of picking up the trophy always tough when you’ve just lost a game but the performance over the entire competition has been such that they end up on the top of the pile and do so two points clear of the typhoons and it will be the dragons who will pick up the trophy but uh yeah super performance during the summer for the dragons certainly and you can see today they rather than playing a few of their a few of their um overseas players and players who have scored runs for them cons consistently they gave a few of the younger girls a match today and it doesn’t seem to have negatively affect them in the slightest they made still made a good score still fielded and bowled well but they just weren’t quite good enough for leap’s scorches today well there is the dragons card from earlier on all aast 39 from 34 well she looked like she was about to burst forth when she was caught by tector off the bowling of Ellie McGee everybody else sort of got in and did bits and pieces here and there and they got themselves up to 138 we thought that they perhaps might have been looking at 150 at one stage it wasn’t to be the Scorchers pulled that back and they did really well here were the Partnerships you can see prast and Green’s Partnership of 72 and then the two Partnerships at the end with little and Fisher and Fisher and Kelly of 23 each so they got there in the end and te was the pick of the bowlers today with her two for 29 off her four wickets for Amy Maguire and for Ellie McGee as well who had a fantastic day all in all a little bit more expensive than the runs per over we’ve seen throughout the other matches but when there’s bigger scores on the board like 38 was a challenge for the bowlers out there today there was also a partnership of 72 in there that was very important and for the scorches Innings Leah Paul was the hero of the day with her 66 off 46 a real Captain’s knock to turn the game around cter Riley really impressed with with her partnership with Paul scoring 19 off 10 at a crucial time of the match which helped turn the game on its head and Lewis looked like she was about to get going before being caught behind by mcgranahan off Pendergast and Tor was able to give Paul some support in a much needed part of the game Partnerships wise Tor and Paul was the big one and as I mentioned before Paul and cter Riley was the one for me that really changed things that was a really quick 41 um cter Ry was able to outscore Paul during that period of time as well and that changed things caver at the end ran really well well the dragons bowling there’s not too much they can chastise themselves about here all a prast obviously won for 17 and Lou little one for 14 but middle overs Cara Murray not having her most successful spell n and a half and over and Claudia green 7 and a quarter and over it was a good performance and a good game to watch as the scorches I I would say came from behind to snatch victory at the death thanks to the efforts of their Captain uh Leah Paul with her 66 not out as they reach 141 chasing down the 138 of the of the Dragons the scorches won by six wickets we’d like to thank you for joining
