from the Wabash Valley Chevy dealers Sports desk here’s Jack Bernie good evening everybody welcome back to terot South girls golf team made their first state finals appearance since 1988 and 2023 and will begin the 2024 campaign on August 5th this morning two members of the South girls golf program faed off in the final round of the terot Women’s Golf Association City open at home and links South head girls coach Cara stuki looking to win the event for an eighth straight year in a record 19th time while South Junior Avery castle look to finish week of golf with another win after winning the junior City Championship on Thursday to the fifth green we go check out the chip by Avery Castle beautiful approach how about it dropping in for the incredible chip in not to be outdone stooky on seven now showing that she can chip with the best of them as well this one almost goes in from there and lands right next to the pin she make a shot like that later on the tenth hole it was a back and forth battle between these two all morning as stooky Nails the short putt later on to maintain her slim advantage Castle push stooky all the way to the 17th hole with nice shots and putts like this one on 15 that finds the bottom of the cup but in the end it’s Cara stuki who hangs on and wins her eighth straight women’s city tournament it’s her record 19th time winning the event as well here’s stui after the win as well as what it means to compete with a player of hers in Castle I guess the thing to be most proud of is just the consisteny I’ve been able to do because when it’s match play I mean everybody just starts over each day and it’s just hard so the cons consistency I’m proud of I thought we both played great um we both hit it really well made some good shots putting kind of let me down a little bit there but um in the end just hit enough good shots and I’m just glad I got her for two more years to coach
