take a look at this Prospect profile a kid expected to be number 10 ranked 2024 draft prospect mlb.com the second highest ranked high school player committed to the University of Texas and as you heard him say the pride of Simi Valley California pleasure to bring in Bryce right now and Bor in 2005 I got socks older than you good good to see good to see you price um listen there’s some there’s some comps now including from our own John the mail to Corey Seager what do you make of that yeah it’s awesome I think uh to be able to compared to an Elite baseball player awesome um and I hope as my career goes on I continue to you know play like him yeah certainly a two-way player in high school you’re going to be drafted as a shortstop we’ll get to the pitching in just a second but you played High School baseball at Harvard West Lake High School in Los Angeles which is a factory for baseball Max freed Lucas gilo Jack flare P Crow Armstrong and for movie stars Jason seagull Jam Lee Curtis Mark Harmon the gyllen Halles what was that experience like being at place which just churns out Stars yeah no I I think it’s a great environment to um uh grow up in especially as an athlete um everyone there there’s been people that have been there before and they’ve done it so there’s plenty of people to talk to and ask questions so yeah it was great hey Bryce Yonder Alonzo here just talk to me about your process with Team USA how much fun was that for you I mean you it felt like you were you were in on Team USA since you were 10 years old uh but how much has that helped you throughout your process even in high school so much um it’s always awesome representing your country and going to other countries with USA across your chest um but I I really do think it helped me prepare for high school and you know how to have a a slow heartbeat throughout those tough moments that are going to are going to happen in baseball but it was it was it was a great experience hey Bryce Cliff Floy man so what are you doing these days are you relaxing right now you chilling like are you working out like what’s what’s going on right now working out hitting a lot of golf with uh with my little brother who just walked past BR just walk past I’m going to get on TV dog like I’m coming on TV he ain’t so little man he ain’t so little hey he was like I’m hey I’m getting my shine with you huh dude he’s already taller than me it’s it’s sad dude it’s crazy oh man no it’s been great yeah Bryce who’s your favorite player right now I know you talked about Matt Kent being a guy that you you enjoyed watching but right now who’s that guy that you really TV’s on right now you’re locked in on man I’d have to say gunar Henderson oh he’s dude he’s he’s special man I swear every time I turn on the TV he hits a home run I swear yeah but uh yeah he’s he’s fun to watch well if Gunner hears that he gonna like have the TV on every night I’m playing you know that’s how that goes right superstitious but when you look at your game what’s the one thing mentally that you’re preparing for to get better you know when you’re sitting there working out when you’re doing doing your your your drills what’s the one thing you want to get better at uh when when it’s all said and done I would say overall just my swing swing and Miss cutting down on that making my swing more repeatable um that’s kind of been the main focus this off season as well as getting bigger stronger nice Bryce as I mentioned you started as a pitcher you were nine and0 as a freshman and some Scouts think you have real two-a potential I know we’re getting ahead of ourselves but how much do you love pitching I I enjoy it um I don’t see why I couldn’t do both I’ve done both my whole life and until the game tells me I can’t do either or um I’m prepared to do both at the next level move over sh Anon Bryce rer is coming Play Let’s Go I don’t know why I can’t do both I love the confidence but man listen you’re expected to go top 10 I hope it works out for you Bryce we will see you at the draft and good luck the next couple weeks and good luck with that golf against your brother thank you thank you thank you for having me on
