Golf Progress Hub

what’s going on everybody today we have another lab putter to test the Mez counterbalance very excited about this one shout out to Bryon over a golf progress Hub which lent me this to test really appreciate it if you’re in the Vancouver area and are looking to test some lab Putters he is the man to go see and there are the place to go so definitely check him out I’ve linked it below today we are going to test this against my Cleveland putter which has dethroned every expensive putter I have in a little n hole putting match I’m curious to see if this putter could potentially be the contender to Dethrone it because upon my first initial putts with this this is the first lab putter I felt that felt intuitive and kind of worked with the roll and I’m here I’ll roll some putts for you quickly just now you know this is the first lab putter I’ve upon just picking it up right away feels like something I could put into the bag the roll is very good off the face it feels intuitive like if I was picking this up for the first time at a golf shop and was kind of draining putts and rolling putts I would immediately pull out the credit card and debate this purchase and I would say of any of the lab Putters I’ve previously tested which is the DF 2.1 I did not make a video on that unfortunately but I did test the broomstick I did make a video about that link below neither one of those would have been an initial I need to buy this this one has that feeling which gives me some excitement because I believe in this technology I feel like it makes so much sense sense that this should improve my game but I’ve yet to find one that moves the needle form so we’re going to put this head-to-head against the Cleveland Huntington Beach 3 this putter is significantly cheaper than this putter so for this to beat this one out of the bag it’s got to it’s got to do a really good job and this one has just been on an absolute heater so I’ve got a little nine-hole putting course setup here nine different locations we’re going to go through two rounds each Putter and whichever putter has the least amount of total putts is going to win without further Ado let’s go for h oh for don’t do that for for M no well as you can see from the results this is not going to go in the bag it’s unfortunate I genuinely thought that this one was going to be a contender it feels the best of any lab putter I’ve tried I really like this setup I I honestly thought this was it but the handy dny Cleveland takes the throne again this is a tenth of the price of this so it becomes tough to justify spending the money on this getting a fully custom version with the acro shaft and everything if I’m winning with this I think the next thing for me to test is I need to try the link because I think the link would be similar to that Putter and maybe that’s what I need I don’t know if maybe this shape just isn’t for me um like I said this feels great it makes sense that this should be better but unfortunately for me yet I have yet to find one that is better for me and is worth spending that extra cash and also in case you’re wondering why do I use claw grip with this versus a regular grip with that putter I actually did uh two versions of the test one with the same grip I used on that Putter and one with the claw grip and the claw grip was the only one that made this a contender so just so you’re aware if I grip this the same way I grip my Cleveland this is by far not even close to making it in the bag which I thought was interesting so Cleveland takes another dub lab putter not naked it in the bag hope you guys enjoyed this test let me know if there’s any other expensive Putters you want me to test in the comments below like And subscribe if you haven’t already and I’ll catch you on the next one peace

  1. I've heard that operator error is always more important than which putter! And money can't buy you 'love'!

  2. My DF3 is awesome. I vouch for the putters for sure. Just is so much easier. Been using mine for 4 months

  3. My only input is you're comparing initial feel / performance v.s a putter that you've had in your hands for a long time. You have feel with yours. With any new putter you have to develop some feel. But just my twocents from my comment earlier, I'm pretty adamant you wouldn't regret the L.A.B.

Glad you're putting well with the Cleveland though! That's a boss move in itself

  4. The LAB takes some time to adjust to. Both in how it feels and and changes to set up. I've had my DF3 for a few months now and can't imagine going back. 🙂

  5. I am glad to see the test for a LAB Counterbalance putter as I have been looking at a DF3 Counterbalance but I have a comment with your test. As others have said and I have experienced personally, a LAB takes a little bit of time to adjust to because it is a different stroke. I also understand what you said on gripping the putter but I think that also goes to the difference in how a LAB works. Your stroke has quite a bit of arc which is why the Cleveland works and the LAB can still work but it takes time to adjust it and you would probably end up more straight forward and straight back which your claw grip is already doing for you. The LAB doesn't rely on timing to square the clubface but the Cleveland with toe hang does. My bet is if you spent an extended amount of time with that LAB that you would putt as well if not better than the Cleveland.

On the positive side, Cleveland putters are underrated so I am glad to see that is your gamer if it isn't a LAB and you putt well with it.

  6. how is it not close to making it in the bag if it was better than your gamer cleveland?
