Your shoulders control the downswing NOT YOUR HIPS!!!

(it’s way easier)

turn my shoulders look at the hips turn my shoulders the hips move you know tilt over turn my shoulders my hips move turn the shoulders the hips turn so all of this stuff that we’re trying to train in the downswing we don’t need to I don’t need to sit there and turn my shoulders and then get to hear like why I got plenty of speed and my body feels great so watch yourself out there be careful of what you digest when you start seeing moves that seem too hard or you’re like only only somebody who’s 30 years old could do that nobody older than 30 could do that if you’re starting to think about that don’t even do it anyway because if it looks painful it probably is

  1. True to that Mr. Saguto. For me, coming from a massive shoulder tear and biceps tendinitis surgery in 2017, it has taken me years to build the strength back in order to play golf again and pain-ish free. It's amazing when you learn your body's limitations due to injuries and finally realize that if you allow it to move as naturally designed to, everything gets easier. Bottom line: Don't over complicate!

  2. Another Tommy tip to grow on 👍🏾⛳🏌🏾‍♀️!!! The simplicity man come on that's a great swing thought.. your shoulders control your speed not your arms

  3. This is a great affirmation for me. Tried two weeks ago to think more about my lead shoulder controlling the downswing and started hitting it better immediately. Long way to go, but your videos have helped so much 🙌

  4. Your tips got me enjoying the game of golf again. I got so focused on hip rotation that I lost the ability to stay balanced and connected. Thank you!

  5. I love your focus on the shoulders in your videos! Have you ever talked about your pre-swing "waggle"? For me, when I started my backswing with my club on the ground, I would pull hook a lot of shots if I turned my front shoulder in the backswing. Lately, I have been "waggling" the clubface slightly toward the ball. This seems to have corrected my tendency to hook when I turn my front shoulder in my backswing. Just wondering!

  6. Thank you Tom. I had hip surgery January 19. worried I need more hip turn. Played 5x. Not as good, but not bad. Keep moving the shoulders & not worry about my left hip

  7. I blew out my elbow in a bicycle crash and had to have it surgically repaired. Your swing advice has really helped me minimize my limitations and improve ball striking. 👍

  8. This guy should be on the golf channel. So true, so well-explained. Every time I watch another instructor it totally screws up my game…

  9. LMAOOOOO brother the imitation of "I don't need to turn my shoulders and then" 100% me the first 2 months I was learning your style.

Worth the time in the dirt though. Bad habits die hard is fr in this life.
