[Music] welcome back to Bray birs DFS one of the best places for PGA NFL MLB and NBA news and of course DFS if you don’t know by now I’m Walt if you haven’t already please like And subscribe to my Channel all right so we are done with one round of the Genesis Scottish open and there are a few things that we need to discuss so first of all we’ve had some of the best weather that you can expect at a tournament like this and we’ve seen this over the years you know the the past six years when you don’t have wind and when you don’t have you know rain in just showery kind of Scottish kind of conditions you know this course can be very getable and just looking at the forecast for Friday I think it’s going to be very very similar Saturday might be the first day with some kind of weather and wind but this is Showdown so we’re only focusing on round two so round two is the second most difficult round of Showdown because you know for round one we’re looking at historical data so round two we have a little bit of data but we still have 150 plus golfers to choose from round three gets a little easier because you had to cut after round two so you have fewer golfers and then round four is the easiest because we have three rounds of data plus you can kind of eliminate a lot of uh a lot of the uh golfers because you’re also trying to aim and get some position points uh something else that we we learned today was that the people on the DP World Tour were in their territory and not even just DP World Tour the the European players in general that are on the PGA tour so uh definitely everything is tilted in their favor um on this kind of course and this situation uh they were still looking at the top 22 because looking at ties there were more PGA players than DP World Tour players but as far as like non-european PGA players I mean it it it was no contest and we’ll see that when we look over some of the statistics all right so round two checklist is very simple we’re going to look at the morning weather you know wave edge we’re going to talk about those top level stats we’re going to look at some Strokes game data and we’re going to look at DraftKings picks all right so there is a two there is a 2 a.m. eastern lock so you got to make sure that before you go to bed tonight you have those lineups locked so we already know the tea time so so we can let that page load so first of all there was not a morning wave edge uh on on Thursday when you look at when you look at the top 22 players there were actually more players from that second wave in the afternoon their afternoon than the morning however we know in general there is an advantage to the players that go out early but the winds didn’t kick up the weather didn’t change the course didn’t firm up any of those things that some kind sometimes can make it harder in the afternoon with in different kind of climates that didn’t happen here however I know a lot of us like I said love getting those players that go out early so some of the players that go out early that you know I like are Alex Fitzpatrick he did really well obviously the brother uh Matthew of Fitzpatrick who else do I like early that goes out early uh I like Ben on I like McKenzie Hughes uh I like Cam Davis a little bounce back we’ll talk about him obviously like sunjay uh who else scrolling down and those are some of the end to hip toala so those are some of the players that go out within the first hour that I like but once again there was not a morning Edge on Thursday all right so let’s look at my top level stats and so if this is your first time looking at one of my videos basically I like to just process what I just saw and just break it down into these five you know five rows to kind of get what happened because it changes from tournament to tournament and from round to round so for round one the range of scores were 14 we had players at six overpar and players at eight under par I would say this second row is probably the most surprising to most of us there were 22 players who had a score of five under par or better but once again we didn’t have the usual element so people just adjust it accordingly the mo that is the score that showed up the most on the leaderboard and I mean this is insane three underpar was the mode for today once again I think Friday is going to be very similar uh median that’s the score right in the middle it was one underpar and then you have Cam Davis So lately I’ve been highlighting The Almost Doesn’t Count kind of uh golfer the player that you know looking at their final you know score for the round can be a little bit deceiving Cam Davis he had six birdies six birdies very impressive which would put him up with those people that scored five underpar or better however he had four bogeys so since I’ve been tracking this a lot of times this player who had that almost you know doesn’t count what I’m calling it The you know that kind of round the next round they usually have a bounceback so we’ll see if that holds up again but Cam Davis in his round at 200 under part but a lot of that was because he just had a lot of bogeys but he had a lot of birdies and that’s what we like right those golfers that are that play it safe and get a lot of pars we’d rather have somebody like Cam Davis is trying to get those birdies you know and sure they might get a few bogeys but if you get enough birdies you can definitely outplay your bogeys because we know that a birdie you get 5.75 points and you only get a negative 1.8 points uh for your bogey so if you’re somebody like Cam Davis that actually is not too terrible all right so let’s look at the strokes gang data and you’re going to see it’s going to be dominated by DP World Tour players or PGA players uh the European PGA players so uh Strokes gain off the T you have nor norgard Mohler you have minwu Lee you have Daniel hiler you have Rory maroy and you have L big oberg so approach you have hay Tong Lee my apologies if I’m messing up some of these names you have Ben an you have Thomas dietre you have Nikolai hoard and you have Grant Forest around the green you have Hurley long Rory maroy then you have nikolai’s uh brother Rasmus then you have Patrick H Harrington and then we have Aaron cochell and then for putting we have Marcus Armitage we have Mackenzie Hughes the Canadian we have Max kefir you have sunj M and you have Justin Thomas so as you can see uh players that are doing well as far as Strokes gained really tilt towards the European players and the DP World Tour players all right so let’s go over the DraftKings and I can give you my two favorite players from each of the salary tiers so 10,000 and above I’m not getting cute I’m not shifting from my pre-tournament recommendation of Rory Rory went out there and played really well Xander did not but I don’t feel like it and you have to ask yourself this this is what we have to ask our our El when it comes to Showdown did I just watch a player have their ceiling round or did I just watch a player have their floor round and that’s what you have to figure out and I think most of us would agree that relative to how everyone else was playing Xander had more of a floor round so Rory I don’t think a five underpar is a is a ceiling round for Rory I think he can do even better than that but if you run into a player that just kind of shocks you like wow you have to ask yourself can they do that a second round back to back and if the answer most of the time is no then you really shouldn’t put them in your lineup all right so moving down into the 9000s once again I’m going with the bomber men W Lee and then we’re going with Fleetwood we talked about his comp course you know history and how well he’s doing with that and he had a good round one so into the 8000s once again I’m going to stick with uh McIntyre once again he’s on his home turf he’s been playing well and I think he can play even better and once again we’re going to stick with on with the driving distance going with into the 7000s man the Hoy guard Brothers if you put both of them in your lineup for your week long lineup I feel like both of them are going to make the cut and so I like both of them in the 7000s for round two and then okay so we’re now into the 6000s and Lee I mean Lee had an amazing round we were not expecting that at all but I mean can he do it again I mean this is a this is a nasty game log I mean T20 cut cut cut cut t35 I mean eight out of 12 Cuts he has not had good recent form so I’m putting him here not cuz I’m recommending him but he’s just the exact kind of player that I’m talking about that the majority of the time not all the time the majority of the time can’t turn it around and do it back to back and then I mentioned I feel like Cam Davis is going to have a bounce back from his round one and then mhler I like him as well in the 6000 so let me know your thoughts feel free to leave any comments but otherwise go out there and win that Guap
