[Music] [Music] an incredibly fun day at the Grove live Nashville day one has come to an end an Abe answer at the end of the day is at the top of the individual leaderboard Fireballs GC sits at the top of the team leaderboard and the fans here in Tennessee are bringing the energy just to say to Le and we’re here to talk about why welcome to Club 54 post round show I’m your host Christian Crosby and joining me is your favorite live golf analyst who and hang uh who just had a phenomenal day you got to follow some great golfers Bryson Des Shambo who’s been putting on a show Mr Box Office himself Carlos Ortiz and John ROM I believe maybe a few more actually no no no I stayed with that group all day and uh what a grouping that was uh John Ram obviously coming back from an injury uh had to pull out of the US Open as well as in Houston uh Carlos Ortiz coming off that win in Houston as well played some phenomenal golf he wasn’t feeling as well as he had like to he’s not 100% he caught a stomach bug earlier this week uh and then of course Bryson uh what he did last week at Pine Hurst and then having to hop on a plane do all that he had to do in New York all the press all the pr running around town uh having people touch that US Open Trophy and then come here today here in Nashville with everything and running on very minimal sleep do what he did today was so impressive yeah he referred to himself as a zombie uh to you and uh he did pretty good as a zombie if you ask me we’ll talk about him a little bit more but first I want to get into the energy right Nashville fans are different packed house today the party hole for example was unlike anything I’ve ever seen just talk about the energy of the fans today it was a little different right yeah I mean especially you know with following with following the group that I did today I mean the Adoration that Nashville had for you know obviously everybody in that group but specifically for Bryson dambo he’s called The Players Champion for a reason people love him he’s a he’s a people’s champ he really gives time to everybody I mean it was just amazing I know every every week that we play and we te off the first tea the energy is fantastic but today I literally had major chills down my SP fine uh it was so loud especially when he made that pot on 15th uh he’s an Entertainer you know what I’m saying he loves it and he’s definitely that as you said in the post round interview with me that’s all he’s drawing from right now he’s low on energy but he’s feeding off the crowd and you can just tell how much people love Bryson D yeah know when I’m watching him I can I I know I’m watching something special happening you know before my eyes and I think he’s just got that superpower that I would love to know from you like was there a moment you saw from him today where he interacted with a fan or something off the course that really caught your eye that made you go wow this guy is just different yeah I tell you every single hole from green to tea he is high-fiving people he is fist pumping people he’s making sure he gives all the kids their attention they’ve been waiting for uh for him to come through that area he’s really putting a lot of effort into it and literally every single hole that we’re walking down the Fairway people are yelling his name and on the 18th people were going USA USA and it was so loud and and I tell you the energy was amazing out there Nashville turned up and it was um phenomenal phenomenal day well suanne I know you saw a lot today but try your best to take us through your day we’ll start with John ROM we’re going to put some highlights up take us through what you saw from John today ladies and gentlemen it’s John ROM day one Nashville man he came out the Gates Strong today birding the third hole here you know no sign of discomfort no sign of pain from John Rah uh I caught up with his team and they said that he’s he’s feeling good uh he’s infection free he’s painfree he’s able to walk without any discomfort and I didn’t see any signs of that today as well uh so good to see him back in a a healthy State uh and this one here on the 11th his second shot into this car five this was a fiveo and I tell you what he curved that beautifully into the back right hole whole location such a difficult ho location as well to get to today and he just nearly missed for an eagle and just tapped in for a birdie uh but you know what for a guy that’s had two weeks off he really couldn’t practice he couldn’t do not that I want to make any excuses for the guy but realistically that was a really good round for him today a lot of positives he had some pretty wild drives that cost him a couple of Bogies and that mistake he made on the 18th uh with his second shop pulling that into the water was a uh was a tough one all right let’s get into some Bryson D Shambo highlights here uh we’ll get just a few in here take us through it he had a great day today too oh yeah he had a fantastic day today I mean this club right here the putter last week he was 12th in Strokes gain on the putting green uh and that’s that was one of the main reasons why he wanted Pine Hurst uh but his irons right here just so solid today there was no indication of fatigue there was no indication of any dumping of adrenaline he was just out there he was focused he was feeding off the crowd he was enjoying himself you can certainly tell right there one more highlight here and that was a fantastic moment uh he loved it look at him there he goes he’s enjoying every moment of that and so are you sure people love him all right well let’s take a look at that individual leaderboard from today uh that guy named Bryson Des Shambo finishing for underpar just three back from Abra uh Abraham answerer I mean what a day looking at this leaderboard fun and a great R from TL Hatton as well I mean I know he didn’t have his best Sunday at Pine Hurst and he was pretty disappointed he expressed that at the press conference earlier this week but came out and shot a fantastic round today he’s playing some great golf Sebastian Muno as well finding some form cam Smith two on par Brooks kepka Two on par um you know this is a good golf course for the Rippa boys uh they’re the only team as I said at the top of the show that I have three players in the top 10 of the putting stats that’s uh pretty impressive yeah here’s Bryson Des Shambo doing one of the things he does best uh signing autographs for the fans uh we walked around Rachel even walked around we asked fans who are they here to see everyone seemed to have the same answer today uh which is clear here as you see the fans trying to grab as many autographs from this man as they possibly can I’m surprised he doesn’t have his US Open trophy out here for people to touch and get those numbers up in terms of how many people have touched that trophy I think by the time we got to the welcome party it was 10,000 people that have touched that trophy but you know at the US Open after all he had gone through after a long day press conference doing this doing that he stayed at Pin her till like 10:45 p.m. signing autographs in the dark he had to have his team of people uh use their phones to light the autograph things that there were signing I mean it who does that clearly bryso does yeah but uh you know and then The Crushers merchandise uh the collaboration with the clothing company Stitch was sold out last week I heard it sold out fast too fast I think I mean I’m going to confidently say I don’t think there’s many crush’s uh merchandise left in the store okay but you’re a professional right you just said he’s he’s not just kidding yes suan you are uh you’re a professional you know how this goes Bryson is not sleeping he’s doing all these media hits still playing his best golf how does he keep this going like what what do you actually have to do to maintain this level of golf and this level of uh just engagement with fans you know I asked him on the 18th off camera I said I I I said great round today I said I really don’t know how you did it he he just looked at me and goes I don’t know either you know I think you just at this point you just run of adrenaline you know you really just try and go shot at a time moment at a time and try and be as present as you can and realize that you still have to play uh golf this week you know not just individually but for your team crushes as well uh we’re heading into the back end of the season a lot to play for he knows that he’s aware of that he’s a competitor he’s out here to win every single week so it is difficult you can tell he is tired he admits it uh but he’s young he’s going to try and get some rest get some sleep get some good food and uh yeah and come out here and do what he does best hope he does hope he get some rest all right well fans are talking about it a lot on social media celebrities are talking about it everybody’s excited and as you can see uh the timeline is blown going up with Bryson dambo Bryson is putting on a show dude’s getting people hype at the party Hole uh that party hole was unbelievable whole lot of fans really excited about Bryson Des Shambo and for good reason right there Perfect all right Harold Barner is one of the game’s most interesting characters always full of energy and insights and we were lucky to have him spend time with suan this week Yeehaw this week we’re here in Nashville for another episode of Hang Time and who better to have than our very own Harold Varner from the four aces gety up if you were stuck on an island somewhere and you had to pick one teammate to be stuck with who would that be how long do I have to be there well I don’t know no no that’s got to be a part of the question cuz it makes week a week I’m going with Pat Perez pep Perez why cuz we’re going to have fun we’re going to enjoy the last few days I got to go for a day for a day I’m going with DJ cuz he going to fly as private out there and if I have to go for life I’m going with Patrick Reed cuz at least he like we’d be broke he’d be like we still got to do this he keep you on track oh that’s awesome [Music] and as you can see fans are still sticking around as we speak uh talk to me a little bit about the hang time there that we just got to see uh you have a good good time doing that yeah oh absolutely I mean and Herold is one of the most entertaining players we have on our league uh he’s very authentic we love him for that he is who he is and he doesn’t try and change but the whole point of hangtime is really to try and showcase uh all these players personality off the golf course and really try and dig a Little Deeper so that other people who are watching the show will get to know these different personalities that we get to watch every single week man I can you give us any more info who’s coming next no I will not come on S stop being a killer come on man a whole lot more to talk about here Su I got some questions for you and a special guest as well is joining us and a new inspiration on life and golf un un believable run we’ve been seeing from Bryson to Shambo and joining us jbo in the house Greg Bodin thank you so much for joining us Bryson to Shambo caddy wow what I don’t even know where to start my friend you guys have been having an an incredible year but let’s just specify today first talk about Bryson’s day and how it went with you guys you know all in all I I think it was he was he at the end of the day he told me he was really happy with how the day went he is on like as much energy as Bryson has he is on fumes um um but you know he just kept trading uh trying to drink and eat and then the fans like I have not I’ve seen some pretty large crowds in my cading days but that was like I even told them I’m like whether I know a lot of these people are out here to see you but Nashville has just shown up in such a huge way and I feel like I hope that it’s somewhere that we uh stick around for years to come yeah it was certainly a joy to watch the way you guys interact on the golf course uh I know a lot of attention have been on on Bryson and how he’s been dealing with the win how about yourself Jibo because uh you gotta be on a high as well and then probably low on energy yourself yeah I you know I’m I I can’t believe Bryson’s Still Standing I got to go home for a couple days like this is before he won this is what’s been so great about Bryson and I it’s like he’s been such a good boss to me and before uh even the you know he sealed the victory he uh he said I should just go home for a couple days after this cuz this is a three-week trip I got some family back home so on Monday morning I missed my Sunday Night Flight which was fine I was like it was like 8 o’clock out a Raleigh definitely not going to catch that so I uh I got home mid morning on Monday and I flew out to hear Wednesday mid morning um I had yeah it was it’s bizarre I had a a lot of media requests I’m not used to that even the Mariners called me and asked me to throw out the first next week so I’m going to I’m going to do that but I just I I tried to keep it simple I did a couple podcasts with people that I that I’m close to but yeah Germaine or uh Bryson was telling me what he went through while I was sitting at home and you know I did a couple casual interviews but uh in Bryson and he you know he left for New York at 2:30 in the morning he slept 2 hours went on did the Today Show went on CNBC came back and napped for an hour went on the pat uh maffy mcafe mcafe sorry and he uh then he went on that show then he went to Jimmy Fallon then he went to Trump’s hotel I’m just like but he’s built for this and this is what he you know this is what he wants it’s obviously um it’s a strain but we like we talked about this morning it’s the this is a weird way of putting it but the juice is worth a squeeze yeah awesome well here’s a social post here we want to hear your thoughts on too uh congratulations on your win I hope you win live Nashville too you’re the kindest uh tell us about this I think this guy is trying to steal your job this kid had a chance to uh spend time with Bryon I take one day off and all of a sudden I see this kid carrying the bag and you know giving him numbers no it’s uh he actually came up and said hi to me the first day I was here seems like just like a Die Hard fan for Bryson which it’s it’s just great to see there’s whether you that’s what I think Bryson does really well he he attracts whether it’s uh you know there’s fans of every age um you know elderly men and women and there’s kids who are six seven years old that they all just you know they love them well let’s shine a little light on you because it takes two to tango it’s a partnership out there you’re his other half as we like to say in golf Bryson’s a very much uh analytical guy uh he’s all about stats he’s all about numbers how do you do you keep up with that and how as a caddy how do you then punch numbers for him yeah it’s it’s funny cuz I’ve always I’ve always been a little bit of a nerd that way so like the numbers thing wasn’t difficult when it comes to his shots or 10:30 or figuring out okay we’re we have a a 12-footer that’s down a 3% slope it’s playing 40% and so that’s going to play four and a half 5et whatever you so that kind of stuff was was fine the reading putts with him was different because he uses basically like this method called vector putting and Vector putting’s like aim point on steroids I knew aim Point well but Vector is basically you’re adding up all the slopes of the brakes between the ball in the hole and then it it’s way it’s way too complicated to try to map out right now but even it was pretty cool the way Bryson is like you see him right now spending time with everyone he spent a few hours with me at his house before we got it actually after we got started but the first time we had a you know a second to catch our breath he had me over at Dallas and we were up till midnight on his put viw green kind of shown me you know shown me this is how I see greens and so now I feel like we’re kind of seeing a little bit of the same thing when we when we when we get to the green but yeah I’ve I’ve he he might think different but I feel like I can hang just just fine and it’s it makes it fun it definitely keeps me engaged the whole time there have no time to take off and that’s kind of the way I prefer it well you’re better than mathematics and physics than I Amo all right Jibo we’re going to throw some uh Bryson D Shambo highlights from today up and uh feel free to take us through it tell us what I’ve seen players do this and they do such a good job I’m on fume so come on here we go all right yeah I was right Edge and didn’t break oh yeah that was what hole is that I I remember that was hole three I think three yeah four yeah or four yeah I remember I saying like that didn’t break cuz it just went in the right Edge he usually starts it on his line yeah he’s putting he so he made a tweak uh this is at austa I believe or the PGA at the start of the PGA he start this is as as as complicated as he can be he just had felt like his left shoulder was moving left instead of up and so he’s been I mean I think he hits this one pretty close but still that’s like been a big difference is like for a while you know through the Masters in those couple weeks in uh Singapore in Australia he was really frustrated with this putting and it just clicked at the start of the week in PGA same ring right here double breaker barely go barely went right then barely straightened out went left at the end and he was on a heater at this point another good one this was uh this three-w got way further than I expected in hindsight I wish I would have asked him to have fivewood but he was yeah he has this new three-wood that he loves it’s 10° and it flies about 310 or 305 and so finally got a three-wood that’s working well for him uh sorry did you say two in outside right on thisle on this but right here and he we’re walking off the green he’s like it Bryson’s on fire right now he’s uh he’s he’s just uh he can’t do anything wrong he looks cool everything he’s doing we’re both kind of dorks but he’s like he’s knocking out of the park right now you actually said one thing that makes a good caddy is being good company so my question to you is what’s your process of keeping things fun but also getting the job done that’s I I think that’s I don’t think I know it’s my biggest role with Bryson is like Bryson more than anyone all these guys for the most part they know the x’s and knows and how to get theirself around the course you just hope to save them a shot every other round or so or just be those set of bumpers to keep them on the right track um definitely not the biggest biggest part of what I do with Bryson and for Bryson it’s just we’re we’re spending seven hours a day out here we’re just trying my goal is just to like not i’ I say I’ve said this a lot like I just try not to be annoying like you spend that much time around people and it’s like if I can get through 3 weeks straight spending seven eight nine hours around you know Bryson like the what you don’t see out here is in between is how much how much pressure these guys are under and it’s like it gets to you like these people are human and they have a lot of emotions and feelings and I just Tred my best to to to be a support to him uh I’m a very naturally I’m a half full positive person he’s he’s admitted in the past he’s been negative at times but even like I I I feel like uh he’s he’s learn he’s learning a bunch even like on the first te of the open last week on Sunday he looked over at me and it basically was something along the lines of like we could shoot 80 today or we could shoot 65 and like things are going to be okay and I was like okay the fact that he’s that he can be in that frame of mind at any given point during this tournament even if it at the start of the week like hey if we have a chance and like it doesn’t end well like that’s okay I knew like at that point obviously you never know what Rory’s going to do like and I knew he wasn’t going to get in his own way and I was going to try my best to stay out of his way too and sure enough you know he just kept fighting even though we were down two with a few holes to go he was uh just never gave up and now he uh US Open Champion you guys are a very successful partnership I have to say well you guys were kind enough to actually allow us to mic you up I don’t know why you guys agreed to do that but we love it so thank you for that course and uh here is actually some footage from them being miked up in their day check it out [Music] congratulations oh is this the 15 there we made his way to the first was loud I’ve seen some electric groups but that was uh that was L do you enjoy the energy as much as he do he does yeah he you know I try to St I think most C are happy with sticking in the background that’s definitely me I’m not trying to put myself out in front of there it’s like Bryson it’s like you do you need nothing else as far as like I don’t need to supplement anything when it comes to Bryson and that’s kind of who I am I like to lay in the cut and just do my thing and Bryson’s been really cool about giving me shout outs and giving me credit and you know whenever he feels like it’s due and uh but yeah I mean obviously this is it’s a it’s a blast to I don’t know how many people were following us but it was a lot it was it was crazy it was niut if you had to choose a favorite thing about working with Bryson uh what would it be something that maybe fans wouldn’t know or we wouldn’t know he always we have great conversation Bryson he likes to go down some deep rabbit holes and it’s like when you’re out there for four and a half hours like I can’t get into a bunch of them um but it’s it’s been borderline shocking to me how well we’ve got we’ve gotten along I always knew Bryson was a good person you know I’ve caded in his group several times before I even started working for him and I knew there was that capability but we were talking today it was just uh surpris you know I knew that this was capable I everyone seen Bryson play well and at when Bryson um when he’s at the top of his game and stays out of his own way everyone’s seen what can happen there and so I even said today I was like you know I I knew this could happen I knew it was a possibility I just didn’t see it happening this quickly and he he totally agreed he’s like I didn’t either but I’m just happy it got here as quick as it did wow that’s amazing all right let’s pull up the individual standings here uh a beautiful day here in Nashville as you can see fans are not going anywhere they are sticking around here they’re heading for the concert oh that’s right we got to get over there right Su uh take a look at the individual standies I know we chatted about it a little bit suan uh as we’re looking here at the individual standings I mean what what do you see what break this down for me what you don’t see someone though what do you guys need to do for the rest of the season we are 13 so so yeah he’s played he’s played a really consistent golf he’s had a lot of like top fives and tens but obviously um he’s got off to the right right step today and I I feel like at the end of the year we’re we’re going to have a great chance to to win the individual title what’s it been like with with the team Crushers um obviously it’s something that’s very unique in the game of golf uh to have a team what’s that been like it’s been awesome and I think that’s a big part of why Bryson’s turned things around and he’s been a just to have guys like Charles Hal and Casey and honor Bon leiri it’s like honor Bond you hear about these like silent Retreats he goes on and goes sits in silence for two two weeks which I don’t know how he does that but it’s like those are the kind of people that are around Bryson and speaking into his life and um yeah it’s it’s it’s a real thing I’ve had a handful of buddies come out and watch Love events and they’re just their main takeaway is like the team thing is is Big Time and I’m like yeah I’ve been trying to tell you like it’s no joke and we have a little bit of an odd group it’s funny a lot of these a lot of these teams are geographically a little you know they’re closely located or and we have like Bryson and all the team guys they joke we have like this proper elderly Englishman we have like the most we call him the mayor Charles how just like very politically correct guy from the south then we got honor Bond who’s L like off in the other side of the world doing but they all get along really well it’s it’s there’s no it’s not a coincidence that they played really well as a team last year and they took home the trophy and they um we both always play practice rounds if for you know in dining they’re always finding each other and even it’s just for me it’s cool too like I’ll be sitting there by myself myself and Charles how and Paul Casey will come down and sit on each side of me and and talk golf or uh life and whatever it’s just it’s it’s been a joy that’s incredible well we have a notable post from Bryson to shambo’s social media which we’re all big fans of right yeah take a look here uh G I just want to say thank you too for for joining us in this show I know you got to get out of here but before you go anything you want to say to the fans before you get out of here no I just Echo what Bryson said Bryson’s he’s uh like I said all these people are human they have um they’re they’re have real emotions they kind of seem like robots they play golf pretty close to robots but uh just continue to thank the the crowd for being so supportive of him and just the golf he’s been playing he truly has um you know his true shelf is is starting to show and I think he’s just getting started when it comes to a fan perspective and just kind of giving you a a glimpse into professional golf and plenty of room golf clubs in the back yeah you know we’re sitting eighth in the standings um but we’re trending we have tournaments are right there and we just haven’t been able to close it all right my time to drive all yours [Applause] extremely sporty but it’s really comfy it is the definition of a Grand Turismo correct already did a great job all right big guy time to do work yep now it’s time to do what we do baby have a good week too buddy let’s go big thanks to Maserati uh that looked like a whole lot of fun I’m just a little upset I didn’t get the invite to that test drive there but uh you just tell us what went well for you today I mean I didn’t really make that many mistakes uh hit a wedge over the green on 11 that’s kind of a a no no to that pin uh felt felt like kind of an idiot walking off that green but uh other than that I feel like I put some pretty solid golf a lot of lot of really nice long iron shots you know there’s some holes out there where you’re going to have five and six irons and I was able to hit some good ones in on those and um yeah just a lot of a lot of very solid golf D yeah I mean John you’re a good driver with the ball but I think the strength of your game is your iron game this is very much a second shot golf course because it’s fairly generous off the T isn’t it yeah yeah yeah I agree with you um you know Pro Golf is definitely a lot about the second shot but especially this week I mean these greens are uh you know they’re tricky to say the least um and the pins are they’re they’re well placed yeah so you got to make sure you’re missing it missing missing in the right spots and I was able to do that today 5 in power is a great round of golf you’re one of those guys that when you start well you take tend to play well the whole week how confident are you going into the weekend yeah very very confident um you know I know I know what I’m capable of uh I feel I feel pretty confident in in my in my abilities and uh you know we’ll see what see what the next two days has has in store for me but I’m looking forward to the challenge all right well we we have some highlights from your day today you don’t have to be modest now you can take us through this and talk your talk if you want we encourage it here show soundss good take us through your highlight this is John Catlin ladies and gentlemen day one I mean this is just good fun right here um I’m not used to you know playing a playing a party hole was a good number for me and you know I was able to take take dead aim at a pretty difficult flag stick how did you just feel walking into that party hole atmosphere huh it’s cool honestly like like I said it’s not something I’m I’m very used to but I could definitely get used to it trying to figure out what hole this is so this is 30 and 18 yeah that that was a that was a tricky one that pin was on a pretty uh pretty significant slope I was able to able to make one second at four this one yeah four is four was good I was actually thinking about trying to make that and uh you know to come to come that close was was fun for sure this was your last was it the birdie on six this one yeah yeah this was a big Bender quick down the hill you know I was just trying to get it started online with decent pace and halfway there I knew it was in so you know it’s always fun when you when you see that happen and tell us a little bit what it’s like to be on The Crushers I mean that’s got to be cool right but what is it like here here’s a here’s a social media post by the way from you uh thank you so much to Bryson Des Shambo and Crusher GC for the chance to play this week at live golf league Houston and here we are uh tell us what is it like man yeah it’s awesome um you know the guys I’ve known all the guys for you know a good amount of time Bryson probably the longest uh we played played junior golf together um he’s always been a great golfer but he’s always been a really nice guy to me as well um so that was a really easy transition uh I’ve known Paul from Europe when you know I’ve played six years in Europe you know we played some practice rounds together and Paul’s always been very very cordial to me and then honor Bon I know from the Asian tour um so it it just kind of felt like a hey how’s it going nice nice to see you again so yeah it’s really felt like a very very easy transition you I’m reference the fact that once you start well you tend to play the rest of the week well you’ve won nine times around the world three times on the DP world to six times in Asia twice this year you are a closer in this field do you feel like you’re in it with a chance I mean this is these this this is a worldclass field do you really believe that you can do what you’ve done around the world 100% And I actually have to actually have to correct you it’s 13 times but uh no I do I do feel like if I if I if I can go out and play play play my game um yeah I’m capable of capable of anything you know we’ll never we we never know uh you know we got to go out and we got to keep playing good golf uh we still got 36 holes left anything can happen on those 36 holes but I’m just going to keep taking it one shot at a time keep keep enjoying enjoying the process and we’ll see what happens you’ve had a taste of live golf now yes you want to be out here don’t you 100% 100% I mean uh the way we’re looked after out here is awesome you know the team the team part of it’s really cool I’m really really starting to enjoy that part of it uh and you know just just how the golf courses are set up I think it’s uh I this week on The Fairway to Heaven podcast it was a wide ranging conversation that of course included Phil’s take on the Brilliance of Bryson where were you when you were watching the last hour of the US open and what are your thoughts on on what happened it was riveting I thought I think I think Bryson’s the most uh charismatic fun player to watch in the game today he comes at the game in such a different way he’s exciting cuz he he hits it so far but he’s also exciting because he connects with the fans and he has this great energy and I’ve always seen this in him and enjoyed being around him I learn a lot when I’m with him and so watching him play and come down the stretch and seeing the way he attacked that golf course and and dominated it um was was really impressive that’s um you just described a younger version of you somebody people would have described you 20 years ago why they loved watching and and still today but you just describe that guy it’s exciting to watch connects with the fans you’ve always done that well thank you I I’ve come at the game a little bit different way as well but not as scientific as Bryson and I I learn a lot when I talk to him I really enjoy listening to him there’s a lot of ways to be successful there’s a lot of ways as long as you’re going north and as long as you’re working forward there’s a lot of paths to get there what you don’t want to do is keep going sideways I’ll try this or I’ll try that you want to stay on your path and go that way and so my my path was always a little bit different but I stayed on it and had success and Bryson’s path is is very different and he’s staying on it and he’s having tremendous success and he’s so exciting because it’s so different and unique from everybody else in the game you can watch the entire episode on YouTube be sure to do that or scan the QR code either way uh Dom when are they going to have you as a GU yes on that show hopefully one day but I’m not going to follow Phil Mickelson that’s for sure I can’t wait to watch it D all right our post round show wouldn’t be complete without the one and only very talented Rachel Drummond Rachel tossing over to you what’s going on I mean I can’t believe I’ve got this I’ve got the best bunker player on live cam Smith and if Cam didn’t come and do it I was going to have to do it so thank you so much no worries now you birdied this hole today but we’ve got 55 yards it’s what we saw with Bryson last week it’s an extremely difficult shot it is is there anything you want to say about Bryson’s shot in the US in that situation um I mean it was insane how good the shot was it was probably not as hard as this one I would say I know but um it was still in an insanely good shot and uh that pin there was on such a slope that you know if he had have had a six footed coming back down the hill um the chances of him missing that put are so great which made that uh made the bunker shot so great so um yeah it was Unreal to do that under those circumstances now I think cam is being very honest here we’ve got a bunker short we’ve got water long so it’s very difficult one of the players Kevin Nar we’re going to have a little look at a shot he played today cam have a little look at this he was actually just in front of us he was demonstrating how tricky it was and he he literally left it short of the green so now you are going to show us how to do it okay so technically you know what are you looking for when you set up to this shot what club have you got um I’ve got a gap wedge here at the moment so 52 um this is kind of a bit of an awkward length for for myself I think I would probably go 56 just because there’s water long um so you can see why Kevin left that short obviously we we’re out here playing a bunch of holes this week and um one ceiling mistake can get you at a tournament like that especially on the first day so let’s have a little look for me I mean I don’t really change much um that I do around around the uh green like a bunker shot so um I I still get in there still get my hands quite low and then also um opening up the club face a fair bit as well um and this shot is all about strike let see you hit one while I talk this is all about strike so how do you get you know your setup to help control the strike um oh jeez just’s probably years of doing it yeah Canam that is ridiculous right go on keep hitting I want to keep seeing these yeah and and I think also because it is such a long shot you are going to have a fair bit of drift on the ball so it’s um so this one here I’m probably aiming close to the left side of the green and that one drifted still 15t right of the pin so there’s yeah there’s still a fair bit of luck that has to go your way with this so you’re opening up your stance and you’re allowing the club to be come a little bit more outside the line for this shot yeah pretty much it I mean it’s it’s it’s really just a a longer version of a greenside bunker should I think if I was trying to hit something high and soft out of a greenside bunker my setup probably doesn’t look too much different to this so um just with more just with more Club literally yeah so that’s a great tip for everyone at home you’re literally just changing the club same technique and ball position very similar to Green side yeah probably just a touch touch further back I we’re not really trying to land this one kind of high and soft so just a touch further back um probably take a tiny bit less sand but that is just through ball position it’s not through me trying to take L sand if that makes sense so go on let’s see you made it sound so simple for such a hard bunker shot so we’re going open stance more Club that’s the one cam spin back cam thank you so much I owe you a beer or
