heck of a run you made for final round how you feeling feel good I’m I’m definitely tired it’s going to be a little stressful to see where I finish um I know I mean we drew and I my cadd we aren’t going overseas to try and qualify for the open and we thought a good round today could put us in the talk of maybe getting that spot so we’ll see but uh feel really good on a Sunday not really with the chance to win but definitely in the mix of a really good finish um played some good golf got really hot in the middle of the round and finished uh with a very nice party was he was he open in your mind when you stood over that putt at 18 oh definitely yeah um my my cadd and I were just like talking about how much we love the putt like pumping uh pumping ourselves up uh yeah I mean we had a great read great roll and then and you could see his reaction I think that was my first fist pump of the day um so I mean we know what it means uh to to make that Putt and I mean we we’ll see how big was that par save on five I mean that was a heck of a third shot to get back on the green and give yourself that chance yeah that was huge I think we were we missed two really easy birdie opportunities on one and two um good par on three great Birdie on four and then five just hit a poor t- shot right you can’t hit it right there I had a really small Gap in the tree to kind of attack the green thought I hit a really really good shot but it’s just so hard to to get a number and really know how far it is to the hole I think I also caught a flyer as well um I was honestly a little terrified after we we see the ball flying in the air and then I hear it rattled the grand stands not just the back of it but like where people were sitting and I was really really worried about like hitting someone hurting someone pretty bad um going back to see where it was I knew I’d get relief and I mean I knew there there was enough green there to to work with if I had a really nice flop and yeah that was a huge part uh kind of keep the round going at one under even though I haven’t played my best stuff yet how did that kind of set up the rest of the round for you oh it was great um hit the Fairway on the next hole and then I hit it to like 2 feet um struggled again with the driver a little bit on eight but managed to get it past all the trees hit it to another foot there and then kind of just I think it was six in a row from there on in Michael what are the emotions you leave here with you play a solid week of golf yet you come up short of getting that open spot what’s the mindset um I mean this is my third event as a pro I played really well I think I don’t know I finished at 23 24 under I mean Davis is playing unbelievable golf this week so I think last year 22 231 so just knowing that the score itself is there um and I feel like I definitely left some shots out there too so obviously feeling really good with with where the game’s at and there are still things I can improve on you played a lot of you played a lot of golf with Luke you had success here as an amateur what do you make of what he’s doing here the last couple of weeks he’s standing right behind you uh so I can’t I can’t be too nice um no but yeah L Luke’s a great player I play with him at regionals um outstanding ball Striker great attitude um smashed my finish last year I think I came like 17th or something I’m not sure what we’re at right now but he played a great round of golf um a lot cleaner than mine I’d say um but yeah he’s he’s going to do great things the rest of this summer and then going into college Michael last one over here um you needed a big round today to push for the open you got a big round today just knowing that the big round is in your back pocket when you need it what does that do for your confidence going forward uh it does a lot I know I need a big round again you can’t really force a big round you can’t try and make everything but it kind of just comes to you so uh set myself up the best way I possibly could today um even though the driver wasn’t working great on some holes I when I did hit it well I took advant AG of it stuck a lot of my shots close probably the best iron play um that I had this week um so yeah it just clicked and things went my way today thank you
