[Music] those are just going to be two buds going at it excited to see the [Applause] battle Evan Smith is one of the smoothest players you’re ever going to see he perhaps lacks the Killer Instinct that I think you need to take down big wins but I am ready to be proven wrong we’ve never seen mtio win from the league card at an Elite Series event his only win at MVP last year was from Chase Card whereas Adam hamus and Anthony BR do have that experience so Mato can learn some things and if he were able to come from behind and take down this win I think that it could do a lot for him moving forward for the rest of his career playing against a buddy like Adam and a are it’s highly competitive I don’t it might even be more competitive than just somebody else it’s like that big brother syndrome you want to beat them you want to beat your friends you want to be the top guy you know in the moment it’s like one of those lifetime memories it’s just a really cool thing to think about that you know in 5 10 15 20 years they can look back in these moments and remember like we were it hopefully they’re able to keep a little bit of that in perspective while going out there and trying to take down a [Music] title hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to the third and final round here in De Moine for the 2024 true Bank De Mo challenge presented by DGA big berry commentary bringing you the final action here PA elberry Jeremy coing and boy oh boy do we have a battle for you today oh man and all the scores are so tight yeah I’m telling you JM like AB Adam with a kind of a nice little lead mtio the veteran chasing him down and then you just got a slew of other players if they get hot they get right in the mix we see how Adam’s doing it though right now he’s got Fairways kind of locked in C2 and reg nice still on the disc really nice and he’s doing really well on the putting green uh Anthony Bella even better c1x 95% he is also bogey free for the tournament as is this guy right here mat o no bogeys 96% c1x putting that’s just mistake free golf and that’s going to put you on League card at most events but it’s a three Round Disc Golf Pro Tour event and so you’re always going to have a tight race going down to the finish line and Evan Smith making another appearance here on Jes Pro such a smooth player a joy to watch he really dissects dis golf in a really fun way we’ve got a battle I think he was on here last year Evan same tournament that would make some sense I I honestly remember him specifically at this tournament shredding anyways ho one par 4 795 little win today and it flipped a little bit so direction is going to be a slight different than the last couple days it’s Tailwind today isn’t it yeah so we got a straight Tailwind on one which is going to make this whole play Easier sidearm into the green if you can or Heiser um KCK us off in early pedor is sponsored by Discraft your current leader at 21 under par please give a round of applause to Adam hamis Paul played a half stroke easier than round one that’s the difference of the headwind versus Tailwind wow 795 with the Tailwind is really short for the dis golf pro tour but with the headwind it’s pretty difficult just going to be a pretty stock Hiser for everyone here it’s just the bigger the Hiser the shorter the approach of course so there is some incentive to try to get a little juicy off the tea as well as Ryan mapus for hosting him this weekend currently sitting at 19 under please give a round of applause for Anthony Bella and the friendship between between Anthony Bella and Adam hamus is well documented the battle today is going to be something that they’ll always remember so high so wide so much power for ab so good yeah that is way up there just going to be probably right around 300t to the pin from there also sitting at 19 under par this competitor would like to give a huge shout out to Westside discs as well as Sabin and kayin deur please put your hands together for Matt Oram the starters asked us who we wanted to give a shout out to and in that moment I knew that Matt orm was going to say Sabin and he pulled through I’m so glad to hear that Matt gets his flat did you see that he caught his glasses again it’s a good start it’s a good start right there in the middle highly athletic move rounding out your lead card currently sitting at 16 under par this competitor would like to give a shout out to clash discs and ye Street disc please give a round of applause for Evan Smith EV o little early does he beat the tree yes okay pretty [Applause] good you were raving about Adam’s distance with the sidearm yesterday gets a little lift is that going to get to Circle oh my gosh yes it does does wow that was low the whole way it’s just coming out so fast he does have a one-of-a-kind runup that is quite fun to try to emulate yes this needs to hook up and go yeah the Tailwind helping out there a little bit for Matt orm he’s going to be just outside the circle a little hot putt coming so Evan at 16 under what is he going to have to do today to I think he’s got to get into the teens I think 13 under could put him in the running and it’s a start like that that’s going to help him smaller in stature but still delivers big Power Evan Smith yes can get a lot of distance you can see AB showing off that distance last to go here and just beat the corner yeah well no Evan’s actually proba oh yes you’re right and the bullseye for Evan I was wrong and I was right corrected it got to make that that’s a moment putt right there really settles the nerves if he can knock that one down we saw that with Adam yesterday yep similar distance and right in the heart beautiful putt for our leader Mio has been so good from that distance lately just a little bit off but the thing about Mio’s putt from that range as AB TAPS in his birdie is that they’re always close you’re never going to see just a blow you’re never going to see the speed wrong it’s going to be coming in hitting chains basket or band and that means he’s going to make more than he’s going to miss because he’s coming in every time giving it a chance but he will be the only par on our league card so Dro on a stroke there three back of Adam hamus now still well within striking range and it’s was mentioning early in the round that 17 and 18 are the two hardest holes in the course and anything can happen we saw round one with Ganon Burr taking a double bogey we saw yesterday Gavin Babcock take a double bogey it’s very very possible for a two-stroke even a three-stroke swing to happen both on the second to last hole and the last hole so keeping it close you’re always going to be in it going into the very final stretch so hole two has been playing as the easiest hole in the course yes 753 ft today there is a slight it’s a headwind a little bit left to right yeah slight little Mis Direction with the wind compared to the other days which I think will make it play a little bit tougher I agree send it out on Heiser pass that tead on that shelf though where the tead is that kind of shelf is what you’re looking for anything early you’re going to be yeah that’s that right there is fine it’s fine but you want to be a little higher up in the hill yeah early right there it’s still going to take some sort of shot shape mhm if you’re up on the hill one angle AB just throwing the disc oh man out to Illinois and then back to Iowa see that one angle that was huge into the green yep that’ll be pretty stock forehand Heiser I imagine for ab coming up as long as you have a lot of power and you throw the disc with Heiser you should be fine on this hole as Evan just stays in Bounds at the bottom of the hill I think a lot of players were making the mistake of throwing it flatter and with this new different wind the completely switched direction of the wind you can find that out of bounds long yeah that arm with good Pace he’s going to be down there near Adam and he’ll be first up see how where he’s at he’s got to shape something you can’t just throw the the side arm pretty low very low yeah that’s going to be well outside Circle too Adam did get far enough right that it’s just a little uphill one angle but that’s a leaking ooh finding the branch just a little too high it’s nice to keep it nice and low going onto this Hillside and using the ground play to skip the disc back up towards the basket even Evan going to a knee here he is good at this shot this looks fantastic yes wow show us what you got absolutely worth the replay fun fact about Evan Smith classically trained opera singer oh did you know that I had heard that before for and not once has he serenad me with a Melody not once he did with a little shot shape right there though yeah that’s a serenade a deciding you know what I’m close enough I’m going to go with my goto Luna shot okay watch out tree watch out Bullseye man just throwing darts excuse me [Applause] Lunas Mato pretty far out but this would be a nice catch I don’t know if he even yeah that’s yeah he’s Bing it just not quite online Adam given that a great run and he sails just long enough back that he will be putting before Evan and ab Clos in on their birdie putts and a good start for [Applause] Anthony and a good start for Evan I think the the thing that you asked what Evan has to do I think he has to do what any of the um The Davids versus the goliaths have to do and they just have to get out there early and say I’m here I’m not going to be overwhelmed by the presence of these guys who are proven winners as we take a look at one of those guys right here Ganon Burr perfect start potentially gets it wide enough Slams on the brakes that’s a nice green flag you get he knows he messed up a little little bit let see if he can make this and indeed Ganon is three for three good put so Ganon is going to need a I would say being six back of a of Adam going into the round you would need a near historic round if they’re able to keep it clean and Adam has been showing all week that he’s been able to just keep getting birdies 1400 course record near 1100 rated round on moving day getting the job done uh we just saw Ganon play this hole these guys are going to want to follow suit I would suggest not getting the crazy flare skip cuz that pond on the Right comes in quick only 320 ft downhill you really want to throw it into the Hillside and then skip it like more like a slide it up you don’t want to real skip on the hole I think we’re going to see Anthony with the putter turnover which really helps getting through and it Slams on the brakes yeah bit bit long but inside Circle one where he’s been so good this week are you ready to say it yeah do you think Anthony bro is the best Luna thrower in the world I mean who who else is there I guess you might argue MC Beth Evan Smith hitting a tree coming at the forehand that was a great Pace great angle just a tad too wide I’m looking forward to the time where we get to watch MC Beth and ab battle it out down the stretch that that’ll be a fun one but right now we got a barn burner right here and look at Adam put a little dart on the basket if I had to put my money on one player throwing one disc I would say Adam hamus throwing this disc on this hole it’s just too easy for him perfectly thrown too easy that being said narrowly missed the one opicle tree right there at the Endo going with a faster disc pulling it and at this point Matt Oram is is in danger of really falling behind in a way that might not be recoverable unless he does something incredible with this next stretch of holes yes can’t miss the first three in these conditions not trailing trying to win the tournament Evan to continue the momentum online just a bit High Anthony 30 ft jeez so good look [Applause] perfect M to clean it up yes fumbled the little minig grab but that’s okay he’ll grab it right now and Adam yet to tap out his [Applause] birdie so still one stroke lead look at that just no chance that thing was going anywhere else other than Bulls ey who ain’t lying check out Jaden Ry down there shooting s under on the information flying over the beautiful par 34th at 472 ft it is downhill and quite a attackable for all these players do you go low or do you go for the big spike Heiser well today we have a little bit the influence of a headwind and so the high play is great to try to stick it in there but if you you’re going to have to really get a lot of power I have to have Anthony BR type power to go that high but even he likes to go low yeah and he doesn’t turn it over which means it’s going to be left should be safe yeah just very inside C2 we’ll call it I know 63 ft opportunity for Adam to potentially get a stroke here but this is a very safe play hopefully not too safe and out of bounds oh it’s pushing it you like that play yeah I think yeah I mean he still holds the card so I think you don’t need to get yourself in a position where you offer up free Strokes yeah but I think the other guys need to get a little bit more aggressive and Evans got the power to get there I think that even though that shot might be his gam playay I think when you see the leader give you an opportunity oh man that was a quick snatch Mato playing this way the whole week yeah I played with Evan uh first round and he went after it okay um hit the Koozie roll in the water after going three for three too so oh wow he might be a little scared of going after that makes sense oh good touch for Mio giving it a little bit of a scare and then the disc try to scare him a little bit with a little extra roll Adam’s good enough to give this thing a little bit of a soft bid yeah he’s doing that great touch yeah you’re right giving it a little something happens it lifts a little ab’s going at it oh what a start looks like he wasn’t sure until right when it went in yeah May thought it was you see that yeah go get it that’s awesome we got a tie ball game now great putt from Anthony Barilla now you know Evan has to go for it oh don’t don’t do it don’t no hate to see that man they don’t like staying in on this bucket Evan’s going to have some serious PTSD after hitting the Koozie round one and then nearly making his 60-footer standing up and rolling OB in round three I like it though yeah absolutely you got to I think you’re right I think it was a great opportunity there for Evan to try to get one back on Adam but good composure on the bo the par excuse me the bogey putt to not leak any more [Music] Strokes looking at the leaderboard you got some good scores out there yeah including Ganon B five through five that’s nice yeah speaking of five we got the five The Hive five I don’t what is is that the full name what’s the name the hive five I feel like it should just be the hive The Hive that’s probably it either way hole five fantastic Island hole a lot of fun the energy always great they greet you when you walk up to the tea they chant your name and then you can get some little honey that for you those little honey sticks that yeah those are those things are great you get any I probably grabbed 30 throughout the week oh wow I got I got a caddy to share it with I mean it’s reasonable I think hey be going Luna at it he be going Luna at it oh come on hits the dgn basket fortunate not to come back any farther what a shot that was was so cool yeah I think that ends the debate I think AB is the best Luna thrower there is Adam wide Heiser this should dig and be real nice you know when I say that I I think that just puts him I mean we’re really just talking about best putter throwers and what he’s done with Putters this season speaking of Anthony BR I think it’s really showing a higher class play with his power to be able to bring down the touch or bring down the power and control the putters in just such a delicate way yeah no he throws it really great not wrong oh look at that fantastic two finger side on there from now o he’s going to be on the leader or on the birdie board now Evan also gets it wide is this going to have enough juice if it does your money and he’s M AB might be the only AB might be out might be going for after hitting the bucket yeah my guess is Adam you are correct love seeing the gecko out here in the costume it was a hot one yesterday I don’t think he was out here during round two might have died from a heat stroke a little bit nicer in terms of weather conditions today as far as temperature definitely cool cool out unless the Sun comes out blazing you then it gets hot hot kind of like this card on this hole yep have a nice little starf frame action going into ho six Evan with a bounce back birdie did you get this one every time I did I did Birdie this one all three rounds I was very close that see you see that little blue marker right behind the basket I was very close to taking it oh nice that’s a $500 CTP I don’t know who got that one but I believe Geico was the one that put up the $500 CTP fun is that it’s incredibly fun if you’re that person with the blue little yeah thing got a tie ball game up there that’s right hole 6 par 4 633 I mean pretty technical hole going to have a headwind today so going to be a little tough actually Tailwind pardon me going to be a little tougher to navigate what angle you want to throw off I think you’re right I think it is a headwind headwind yeah head thank you thank you for the correction okay okay back on track headwind so it’s going to be a little more difficult to maintain whatever angle you want to throw it on and and you see AB actually change and go with the sidearm I like the adjustment me too I don’t know why he’s not doing this yeah anyway should be pretty routine forehand forehand for him and that is one thing you’re saying that he’s the best Luna thrower I think some sometimes he forces the Luna when he shouldn’t when he shouldn’t when he should go forehand or backand or both forehand yeah yeah but I appreciate the I you know we’ve seen him try that in the past as mat o goes for the turnover oh not stable enough come on the head when kind of pushing it down but the commitment in his game you never really quite know what you’re capable of until you really force it in tournament play oh and we’ve seen him really try to work it out and he’s really figuring it out figuring out when it’s appropriate no I think he’s so good at it that it sometimes gets him in trouble which sometimes does for all of us when we have a shot that we’re just so dialed with we’ll go for a smaller Gap that doesn’t make a lot of sense you know cuz we’re like no that’s my that’s my go two right now look how easy that forand approach looks for ab and he is in the circle again looking to go six for six to start the round dreams start dream scenario yeah I mean if he just stops now and gets pars the rest of the front nine it’ be a great score but he’s got an opportunity to keep it going oh and Adam early right he does have a look though yeah tricky one deep one and at this point this guy’s got to get all these close they all got to be that’s going to be a tough one makeable but but obstructed and we’ll probably have to straddle one way or the other to find a a gap in those limbs we saw Mio make that at one point this week mhm and he’ll have to make another putt from C2 M yeah he’s been going that kind of mid to low line and been leaving himself with this edio can he make this one and that sails left and you got to be careful with that distance because you can find yourself in a tricky spot coming back for the par Adam online but low and with that Miss AB has an opportunity to take the lead just six holes in oh a good bid all right big moment here and we’ve got a new leader the man who has won three disc golf pro tour events this season is on top now through 42 holes quickly a lot quicker than I thought it would happen and he had to get oh no Evan all six of them and that was leaky yeah that’s leaky a frustrating Miss on the comebacker and that I mean I just got to say that that does it for Evan at this point I would say I think for him he had to go bogey free to win this thing yeah and this will be his second bogey in the first six holes yeah it’s going to put him to one under the best he can do is 12 if he goes all of them but it doesn’t mean that he can’t have a great finish you know but it’s just the win is kind of unrealistic at no and I’m I’m agreeing with you cuz 12 under I think that these other guys can get to 10 to nine oh my gosh pretty easily what just went flying was that rocks that went flying off the top shelf yeah well that’s cool great shot there by Ganon making the adjustment from the r bogy [Music] [Music] on to seven you just saw how to do it the force over with the overstable Fairway or distance driver and let it fight back up into this island we’ve been singing the Praises the whole set all week it’s just a really nice distance for this large of an island and it’s also nice that you get the hazard so if you do miss it you still have an opportunity to save your par and is this staying straight long enough I mean it yeah yes it is wow yes it is that that’s an unrealistic shot shape to try to emulate yeah just dead straight that was crazy 380 up a hill with a mid-range you’re right for almost everybody in the population yeah in the disc golf population not just the world like specifically all of us that is so good and a nice shot from Adam oh great shot to answer tough wind for the oh boy mtio is going to have to get are you kidding me with that are you serious how did that shot get back in bounce I’ve never seen more of an air bounce with a driver in my life that was a full shank from Ado how on Earth did that find its way back safe I don’t know but this guy has a bullet I’m telling you guys look at this Evan Smith has got a huge forehand huge one angle the whole way all right Maddie got to make one of these real soon W oh how does he get a bird you give me the first how does he do it you give me the first second of flight out of Mio’s hand and you tell me he’s going to Birdie the I’m putting the house on it yeah yeah no chance no chance and Adam gets the birdie and we are going to have a starf frame and Anthony about to go 74 s we are witnessing something truly special right now and Adam 4 through seven yeah it’s really good oh for sure it’s great when you’re the leader that’s really good yeah I mean if you told if you told Adam hamus he was going to be four through seven he’d take it I think he would you think he would or you think he’d be like I think he would he would because technically that would be 6 through seven with his two extra Strokes you know what I mean so you’re like yeah of course I’m taking that yeah you definitely aren’t thinking the person closest to me is just going to get all seven right heading into eight to this one this is a bonus pry in this in this forsome right now 580 down the hill with everything being so tight this is a bonus biry hang it out to the right Hiser it in you can throw Flex shots you can throw rollers as we’ve seen on the coverage which is kind of wild oh my gosh that was so weird I loved it Anthony throwing a flip up this flip over this is the headwind coming into play and you have to be careful because there are all sorts of weird places you can find yourself in that right side and ab could potentially have his non bogy streak in Jeopardy right now depending on where that finished Adam huge do is open can you walk through this thing I like the height does it Miss the tree line it’s going to be pushing it oh yeah wow just swings inside uses all of the WID and maybe a little extra as well that’ll be a mostly open look from probably just outside the circle Mio I do love this if it can get Heiser yeah too late to get on Heiser every other day of the week good kick of the tournament that would have F got Heiser but that just that little bit of headwind is just enough and this needs to actually get down does so he’s in an awkward spot Evan has to like run these and stuff which creates more danger he’s honestly in a spot not as tough as this guy right now yeah In This Moment telling you man it is a full jungle over here to the right side ah great shot just to give himself a chance yep 35 to 36 ft left I believe does Mato give this a go kind of have to but I think looks like a layup it does look like a layup and he’s just close enough that I think he’s got to be thinking aggressive aggressive aggressive but in that situation you just you also can’t give away yeah a stroke well and you got to think this is a this is a weird scenario because 17 and 18 can bite you for double bogeys easily unlike any other course that we really play so you always have to think six Strokes last two holes is possible what a putt on the strike great save and you’re totally right yes you have to stay close you have to stay keeping them honest is really what it comes down to Adam takes advantage of the opportunity presented by ab and we have another tie at the top and that was a strike for Adam hamus there’s making a birdie Putt and then there’s like a statement birdie Putt and that felt like I am not intimidated by the seven for eight start I’m here to play too 5 through eight yeah awesome awesome but digging deep AB able to salvage the par remains bogey free for the tournament him and Maro both and they have a four shot lead over their closest charger right now who is Ganon Burr trying to defend his title it’s going to take something I mean just historic for Ganon I think with the way that these guys have started 16 17 18 under yeah I I think you’re right I think something like that might put enough pressure but I mean if AB and Adam just keep birding it doesn’t matter what shoots you know it’s a lot of B lot of birdies on the scorecards for these two guys who you’re trying to track down that’s means they’re playing good it’d be different if this looks so good they only had a few but oh guess what there’s another one that’s going to be a 6 under through nine holes for Adam hamus and does he lose two strokes with that 600 we’re about to find out here with ab’s Drive AB this is leaking a little but it’s hanging straight like it did oh I mean that’s way he’s putting right now you got to think that’s going to go in yeah miio once again going to force turnover play with the mid-range my I love this master class in angles shot shaping and just about really everything yeah in the dis golf lexicon two and Ines go in or something that’s how much power I mean it’s just easy you got to throw the hole from the Longs with the basket up on the planter here to understand how good those forehand are and Anthony does indeed leak a putt inside the circle and he’s going to give the lead right back to Adam hamus a shocking Miss there yeah totally I think the wind kind of picked up a little bit right there we were watching Evan’s shot come in and that flag was dormant and then all sudden it picked up right in his face that’s a tough tough distance to putt in a headwind it doesn’t matter the situation or how well you’re playing elevated basket headwind uphill as well all of those things com make a very tough putt all right Ganon bird at 22 under par and he shot a seven under on the front nine which is what you got to do yeah if you’re trying to chase down this tournament yep and t-shot goes down the middle second shot Heiser so far everything exactly the way you draw it up yep checks out and a pretty stock forand Heiser into the green will do talk about putting good this guy’s been putting great all we and Canon continues to charge yeah gets him to 23 under par four back four back yeah oh the back n of two people back 9’s got some tricky holes we’ve we’ve talked about 17 18 but there’s also 14 and 16 has potential to get a two-stroke swing there’s other holes on the course on this back nine that can be tricky hole 11 is another one there’s plenty of opportunities here this is going to be coming down to the stretch um all the way down to the end it’s going to be a fantastic final 9 here de Mo uh excited to bring you all the action closing out the what was the 12th stop on the n holes away from being 66% of the
