welcome back to Phil wel Stadium to alongside Charlie Marshall and maybe it was a good thing we went down cuz the Mustang scored a couple runs we will recap that to you as we can that one hit deep out to left field Noah bous making a play just in front of the track so allowed start to the top of the fourth but Sam pittz gets the first out of the inning so Charlie it all started with a Frank G single up the middle then he got picked off so that was the first out Noah Bowden Housen with a single to Center Mason Holton with a double to Center that brought in Bowen Housen for one then Carson track single brought in Mason Holton Mustangs ended up loading the bases after that but after a fly out to center field they were left stranded so that is how we got here now with one out and an 01 count to Tyler Daniels on the top of the fourth yeah it was just the meat of the order for the tender loins doing their job like they were at the beginning of the year we talked about last inning how they kind of went now has a center field Bruce going to his left and two up two down here in the top of the fourth like I was saying we talked about last inning how the middle of the order shr Holden MOS they kind of not slumped but just cooled down a little bit and now they’re really starting to get going again and that was the entirety of the reason for the two runs we got last inning so coming up now is Sam Schmidt the short stop he lined out to his opposing number Mason Holton in the first inning here’s the O from pits maybe a little slider right there catches the outside part of the plate eight men to bat in the third inning if bous in his last at bat got one almost to the warning track we haven’t seen that kind of pop for him yet this year so although it wasn’t out still a good Barrel from Truman Bowden Housen Bowden Housen having a solid year thatting 250 good on base percentage at 389 and slugging 268 so only one excuse me two extra base hits on the year but as Charlie mentioned there might have been a little flash of some more power for Truman takes that pitch downstairs well he’s just been the perfect n hole all year whenever he’s in the lineup he’s been doing his job down there for this Mustangs team tonight he’s in the eighth spot as Frank Gul took his spot in the nine hole that one’s grounded to third Johnny Coy making a backhand play as we know Johnny Ken play after yesterday the Mustangs alumni game had three hits probably about 15 RBI with how many runs were scored something like that and uh no stolen bases though yeah no chance Coy wasn’t showcasing a ton of speed you also saw the pitcher or pitching coach Max Stevenson who’s the player of the game in that 22 to1 route had how many strikeouts Charlie 10 strikeouts yeah one grounded to third baseman Tyler Daniels and gets Truman Bowden Housen by a step so Frank G will now dig in with one out here in the bottom of the fourth yeah Stevenson last night as the pitching coach you know your players I’m sure always wondering if you still got it and last night pitching coach Max Stevenson showcased a beautiful slider little you know still some numbers in that arm some good velocity he looks pretty good as well as Johnny Koy the plate also looked good both the both the coaches still able to swing it throw it a little bit I think we have to mention that the coaches aren’t that old Max Stevenson played ball in 20 or 2021 in College correct yes so he’s probably still south of 30 that one’s fou off we one- one count here to Frank Gul but I mean it’s crazy that I’m sure the four years after College you’re probably not you know the pitcher you once were well if you haven’t picked up a baseball it’s really hard to get all of that back it’s not going to come back immediately probably had to throw a couple bull pins prior to this G hits on a first base and completely eats up Cooper moliner at first G looking for second he might take a look at third yes as he’s going to third throw comes from couple RBI and tonight already has two hits yeah two for three with an RBI is a stat line so far and still got a lot of game left Mason holon coming up after he doubled last time up and scored Noah Bowden Housen here’s the first pitch breaking ball blocked by Jordan stuki Holton picked up RBI number 19 is last time up now was his six double tying him for second on the Mustang behind Darius Freeman and Trevor McCullum with seven here’s the 1 this one hit pretty well to center field and that’s going to get down in front of the left fielder Cade bashore right in that Gap and Mason Holton much like Noah Bowden hous is a second hit of the night Holton just finding holes in the Outfield tonight it’s beautiful to watch went to Right Center in his first half B this time to left Center bring the Mustangs three hitter Carson Shrek who is looking for his second hit as well he got hit in the first inning and then hit a single to right field his last time up stepping off is Cedric Martin who looked pretty good in the first two innings but bit of a rough patch the last two breaking ball Shrek hits this in Gap and pass the center fielder SI steel there goes the Maro round Noah bous going to score Mason Holton being waved home and there’s going to be no throw from Landon Maples a 2 RBI double for Carson shre Mustangs have five runs and Carson shre has drove in three of them Carson Shrek that might have been the best play I’ve seen all year from him that ball is absolutely crushed over the center Fielder’s head and on a line there was any doubt about Carson track going to Arkansas with a slow start of the year I think those doubts have been stopped as he has been on a tear the last three games he really has seventh hit in three games and we’re in the fourth inning Mustangs have nine hits now Jer MOS does not have one yet looking to change that Mustangs had one hit in the first two innings and have eight now through the third inning and one out into the fourth inning yeah they have eight hits in an inning and a third good news for Martin he’s only given up nine hits on the entire year now it’s a good one but unfortunately his opponent batting average probably through the roof right now breaking ball misses downstairs to Mose so what has changed for the pitcher Martin well I think it’s just been more the Mustangs hitters adapting to him again we talked about how he didn’t you know have a ton of velocity or anything too much but he’s been just kind of getting ahead and now off the end of the bat from Mose again it’s short stop and Sam makes the play moving up 90 ft is Carson Shrek and Dom Felix will have a chance now with a runner on third but the Mustang hitters are no longer letting Martin get ahead of him they know he’s going to be trying to get ahead of him so instead they’re just swinging first pitch they’re looking for the fast ball and the curveball in the zone early in counts instead of waiting like they were to start the game Dom Felix wasn’t waiting his last step matat as he laced the line drive single to left field and if he could do that again it’ll be six nothing Mustangs here’s the O look like a change up on the outside corner taking first strike and Felix can do it again he’ll have officially bump his average up over the 300 mark really leads the team in Ops really good year for the catcher that one hit to left field Dom Felix with an RBI single and maybe more he’s chugging for second misplayed over there by Cade bore and an RBI double makes this game 6 nothing well he did it again good piece of hitting Martin doesn’t throw the hardest and right now these balls are just being pulled and crushed by the tender loines so shout out to them man they’re doing their job well Charlie I can safely say this is the first time the Mustangs have looked dominant at home in a very long time yeah they usually at least as of late just kind of flirt with their opponent they let them hang around they fall behind they’ve been pulling out the winds which is what matters most but tonight completely different story and against the team they should be doing it yes when they went to De Moine they beat the crop dusters 10 to three up 4 nothing in the first couple Innings but this is the first time we’ve seen it at Phil Welch one pitch to Easton Bruce curb ball taken downstairs at Easton Bruce for the third time in as many at bats as a two- count he’s 0 for 0 with two walks it’s been an easy day for Bruce he gets a strike there that one hit down the line off the body of Cooper Molin Eric and it’s going with a runner on third cannot let a ball get behind you Cedric Martin has given up nine hits excuse me 10 hits Jaden little swinging missing it that one 2-1 yeah 10 hits and he’s not even to the no action out there in that pen I was just thinking the same thing at some point you got to get someone up not even because of the pitch count for Martin but because of the pitches per inning he’s probably thrown at least 30 pitches this inning probably threw around the same number last inning also demoralizes the guy’s confidence if you have to just leave him out there to suffer on the mound when you’re down to a guy like Martin as a hitter it’s a little easier than being down to a guy like Sam pittz on the other end as he doesn’t throw as hard in his breaking balls don’t move as sharp onew pitch again that one hit well past the second baseman landed Maples eight nothing tenderloins and on the throw from Carter keen and right field both Runners are going to move up so it’s second and third now for for Frank Gul after the Truman Bowden Housen single that wasn’t a necessary throw from Keenan right field he’s just compounding negative for this Griffin team so Frank Gul was the second hitter Truman Bowden Housen was retired to start the fourth then Frank G reached on an error by the first baseman Mullen and from there three straight hits for the Mustangs and inning just kept going on and on G hits some one pretty well at a right field but it’s going to hang up there for Carter Keane so a six spot in the bottom of the fourth the Mustangs now lead it8 nothing here at Phil Neda Griffins yeah Pitts has looked really good tonight and so has the the Mustangs offense Carson Potter swinging and missing it the pits fast ball after this batter it’s trivia Time Charlie oh boy that’s a tough question three to four are outfielders so not too many errrors to go around out there I’m going to get rid of he bur just because as a catcher you have the ball too much in your hand to not have coughed up once the entire if he hasn’t that’s very impressive and then you want to go with Bruce because this one skyed out towards shallow right MOS makes the play two up two down here in the top of the fifth Sam pittz rolling right now Bruce it makes sense but I feel like if he was the correct answer he almost wouldn’t have asked the question because he’s it’s appears very obvious that it would be Bruce and then I have Frank G or Noah bous Frank G’s dhing tonight bonus’s in left that’s one of those I have no idea I’m going to just throw a dart at Noah bous because he’s been be surprised if there other Mustangs who get three hits tonight well bous now has back-to-back three hit games at home so something about this beautiful Phil Welch he’s found quite comforting lately so Mason hold he has two hits on the night two for three with a double and a single first pitch from Rett Hayes taken for a strike red Hayes on the air has only appeared in four games he’s thrown came in and it was shot way over his head and then suuki just I think he got lost in the ch so it’s going to go down as a RBI double for Mason Holton moving up to third on the throw and we’re going to give an error to the catcher Mason Holton late jump takes off of the plate and it’s going to be safe anyway so the Mustangs now in mercy rule territory as they score their 10th run of the ball game it just looks easy tonight for The Tenderloins Mustangs either way they’re they’re playing well tonight they’ve still yet to lose in these jerseys something to note where The Tenderloins are undefeated this year well the tender are UND undefeated let’s look at the Mustangs and The Mink league standings Charlie take it away take a look at the standings you’re going to see the Mustangs in first and the Griffins in last they are actually 19 games behind this Mustangs team they are not eliminated from playoff contention though Charlie well this isn’t really doing them much favors but mathematically he can still make make it yeah to be in playoffs here in the mink League you just need to be at top six teams so they are about five games back of the Mudcats which with how bad of a season they’ve had it’s you know not it’s it’s still in reach but you can see there the Mustangs and Clorinda Athletics are the only two teams who have clinched playoff bir so far on the year Renegades haven’t clinched yet but are almost a shoe in to make the playoffs it’s going to be a question of who are going to be the first round buys well the Mustangs and the Athletics look to be the first round buys they would both have to have quite a collapse in the last couple games of the year to lose that but definitely possible you know in baseball you can lose and beat anyone we’ll update the graphic next half inning but it is worth noting the Clarinda a are beating the Jefferson City raing Gates 2 to one the other game going on is the crop duster versus Mudcats the crop dusters took game one of the double header today 3 to2 in a walk-off but the Mudcats best them here in the second game as they’re up 5 to one so Carson Shrek now up has reached base three times this series for the Renegades and the Athletics is kind of must-win games for them if they want any chance of working back into that first round buy the Mustangs are sitting pretty but still face the A’s for three games the Mustangs it’s pretty safe safe to say they’ll get the first round by mathematically they’d have to lose out and the ring AES have to win out but for them to be the one seed they still need to win some games that one lined right next to Rhett ler sorry rhet Hayes ret louder’s pitcher at a a Wake Forest fin leag system for the Reds um kind of a pull there Carson shrk has reached base for the fourth time tonight and it’s only the fifth inning yeah shr is some kind of hot right now I mean he’s trying to get his average back over 300 as it was probably around 200 couple nights ago MOS with his first hit of the night and makes him one for four with that line drive single to left field it was only amount of time for Jeter MOS he’s seen too much production from everyone else in this lineup to not get his share so as of right now the only people actually the only person in the lineup who does not have a hit is e Bruce except he’s walked twice and reached on an error so not a particularly bad day for him Dom Felix looking for his third hit of the ball game had a single and a double breaking ball taken for a strike from rhet Hayes I wonder what Rhett louder would do against this Mustang’s lineup I think it would be a lot closer of a game if he was pitching that one off the glove of Jordan stuki and and that’ll go down as a pass ball in stuki second air of the inning now uh who would win the game if you’re looking yesterday versus today are you talking about between the alumni and the Mustangs team or are you talking about between the Griffins and the St Joe allar I’m going go with the St Joe Allstar and the Griffins I’d be I would use you would want to go with the Griffins as they’re a team full of college players you hope that they would be able to get the job done now Mustangs alumni my prediction would be a 12 to2 ball game wouldn’t be as bad as the alumni versus the allstars that one fouled back right toward me but I forgot there’s a roof on top so I’m probably going to make the play two two um but yeah I would say they would keep it competitive especially if Max Stevenson’s the mound definitely the best arm Ben Bowman looked pretty good the intern for us but the Mustangs would get the best of them I think it would be a lot closer strike three called Dom Felix goes down he is the first guy in the Mustangs lineup to strike out and although frustrating to strike out it took until the bottom of the fifth inning which quite impressive for this entire Mustang tenderloin lineup tonight so Cedric Martin the starter went four Innings gave up 10 hits eight runs we’re going to say four earned two walks and no strikeouts Bruce the only guy in the lineup with without a hit but has reached base all three times one pitch fouled back this is on Pace to be one of the fastest games of the Season Charlie yeah we are flying through this game but an hour end the Mustangs like they’ put up 10 runs but it hasn’t been because of walks it’s just been constant hitting 15 hits in the fifth inning yeah it has not been the same for the Griffins no it is not Sam pittz absolutely mowing down that lineup can it be hard to pitch when you’re have so much time in between Innings well absolutely it can be your arm is getting a lot of time to cool down pits just might need a little extra warm-up pitches it’s another walk for yeah I tell you if there’s anyone in the lineup for the musang should be frustrated it’s Bruce not because he’s hitless but the fact that he has taken three at bats out of his hands with three walks so four plate appearances but only one official at bat Jaden little going to ground this one to second base coming in as Landon Maples and he boots it another Run’s going to come in so that’s an unearned run and 11 nothing tenderloins J little has reached P safely now two times up balls that have yet to get out of the infield grass we’re going to score that at infield single yeah why not why not why not 16 hit of the day Truman Bowden house and this is really messing up my scorecard because he batted we batted around last inning so now I moved Bown in the fifth Inning on his second at bat in the fourth inning now are they they have Trevor Hoffman one of the best closers in baseball’s history and then Ian Kinsler who’s one of Tyler’s favorite players why is that Charlie he’s just a good player because he playing the Angels yes and then there’s some other guys none as quite as big as names is those two Sam Hillard he played some time with the Rockies they have you know the list goes on and on but those are the really the big two Charlie I’ll give you 50 cents if you could tell me what four University Trevor Hoffman went to and then I’ll give you 50 bucks if you could tell me what Joo he went to and pitcher on the mound it’s Cooper rmon are they going to say he played in the big leagues or something he didn’t but he went to Butler Community College so I’m sure there are guys from Butler Community College in the big league so we to tie that one back in Charlie Frank G now base is loaded facing the new arm Cooper rasmason big hack nothing to show for it for Frank Gul rasas as a hitter is hitting 254 with a 377 on base percentage and as a home run run he’s also going to ground that to goodness gracious another run for the Mustangs another air for the Griffins and almost every error has been on Cooper Mull and N at first a rough day for him Frank G reaches on the second error like the second error he’s hit into 13 nothing bases remain loaded Frank go is now responsible for two of Cooper b n airs kuar rasmas in only two innings on the mound that means the Mustangs have batted around now for the second straight inning here’s the first pitch swung on and missed rasmon comes set for the 01 taken for a strike Noah bous down 02 I’m going be crazy is that Jace Johnson pitch hitting for Noah Bowden Housen that’s what it looks like one’s grounded to First mon n going to make that play So Jace Johnson with an RBI he’s in he’s in the books as a hitter now this year he’s in the books and averages One RBI per plate appearance so that’s man my score cards all messed up I got Truman Bowden house and H in the six which hasn’t happened yet um and Jace Johnson with an RBI single or RBA ground at excuse me so is this Mason Holton it looks like it I’m sure it’s one of those things where Johnson’s been asking for an that battle year up 14 to zero why not no better situation than that 01 to Mason Holton Cooper rasmason actually looks he’s got some good stuff hopefully to stop the bleeding just a little bit for Neva big swing yeah if rason is not going to be in a lineup for this Griffins team there’s no reason he shouldn’t have been you know out of relief a lot earlier than he was or maybe even starting the game mentioned Bryce Humphrey not playing for the Griffins but uh I don’t know if he’s responsible for 14 runs here I don’t think he’d make up that much fast ball and this is a tough spot for your Mustangs hitters because you’re up 14 nothing umpire Zone might expand quite a bit I was wondering if he might want to ring up Mason Holton on that be second and third now onew count for the Mustang shortstop who’s three for four in the night he’s going to golf that one out to shortstop acrobatic play and he’s going to be pulled off the bag as Cooper Eric so an error on Sam Schmidt that’s another run for the Mustangs as they cannot catch the break the nadaa Griffins well I’m giving credit to that to Frank go why not great job getting the way of Schmidt Schmid was able to field it cleanly but throw is off who knows Frank I’m sure had something to do with that I’m sure he would tell you that so Carson Shrek three for three on the day with a hit by Innings have been about 10 seconds track to short making the play of Sam Schmidt and they will finally get rid of the Mustangs the Mustangs have put up 13 runs the last two innings and extend the lead it’s Logan it’s Logan Miller so I just mistaken Logan Miller for a PO but it’s okay well Logan Miller and Bronco would have similar builds it’s true but yeah some of the names that weren’t expected to play tonight we weren’t giving their new numbers for first pitch to Miller fast ball taken upstairs Charlie can it be hard coming in as of substitute in a game like this well I mean it’s much harder in closer games where there’s a lot of pressure in a game like this Miller just who hasn’t had the greatest year so far offensively just trying to get going hit 300 at state fair but so far in the mink League he’s hitting under 150 so he just needs is a deep breath these are good at bats for players who are kind of in slumps to get stressfree go out there and just have some fun so Miller up 21 makes an error as that’s the sixth error the night yeah Daniels looked a little uncalculated on the throw right there as he bounced it almost in the grass but it looks like stuki might been a little the PO keeps the line moving it’s always got to be pretty fun for guys who haven’t hit since their high school days to get a chance here in a stress-free environment I feel like most times these pitchers hit no matter what the situation is they’re not very stressed out that is very true Harrington might get a chance to play the field if he does he’ll be playing Center that’s a spotty slate in Jaden little going to line that one past the diving Sam Schmidt the Mustangs not going Station to Station Aaron Harrington coming to Third and scoring is Logan Miller and that throw goes into center field Harrington going to score two more runs for the Mustangs as jayen little has an RBI single and two Runners come in to score we went back and checked and it looks like stuki got hit with Logan Miller’s bat and his forearm on the back swing so that’s kind of what happened to him that’s very painful and that can really hurt you hope he’s okay yeah I do that I mean Charlie you probably know that feeling more than a lot of other people I me anytime you’re getting hit with a bat it’s not fun and for stuki obviously not expecting it making it even worse so pinch hitting now is a guy that normally plays Darius Freeman might be running out of POS here so Freeman going to hit for Truman Bowden Housen well he came in defensively for bous in last inning that’s right he played second base this one skyed over to third base and caught by Tyler Daniels so a guy who was probably one of the better hitters all the Po’s coming up pops up to Third and there’ll be two outs now you might notice it bottom right corner we about to talk about it earlier but the Renegades have taken the lead over the clarenda Athletics so that’s big and that’s good for the Mustangs so we mentioned that the Mustangs don’t control their own destiny yet sorry the clar A’s control their own destiny if they win out they’d beat the Mustangs three times and win the tiebreaker but if they drop a game the Mustangs now have a couple games to play with so they can lose games and Clarinda a would still have to win out and they still could take first place here’s the next pitch misses upstairs there a thought a 17 to nothing ball game and the pitching was the highlight of tonight’s contest it sure was and for right reasons I mean we just witnessed a perfect game Perfection from Sam pittz that you don’t see that very often you don’t see that from a broadcast with much more than maybe once in your life so very very crazy game for everyone and they scored 17 runs too and we’re talking about the pitching I mean it’s crazy yeah I know like we’ll mention like Noah Bowden Mason Holton and Carson treack all with three hits a piece but Sam pit seven perfect Innings Charlie how hard is it to keep your composure or maybe not composure just your focus when you go up 17 and you still are throwing a perfect game I think it kind of relaxed him a little bit knowing that they were up by so much because it was so they’re having so much fun we saw POS coming the play that typically in a game like this where you’re perfect it can be very stressful for you as a pitcher but pits never looked stressed he was chopping up the crowd getting the crowd going when he had two outs in the sixth in the seventh inning so it just really relaxed approach from pits tonight and he pitched really really well yeah seven Cas for him in his perfect night really no there was nothing that was that close either there was a play at Short Mason Holton barehanded a play in the six but outside of that just a
