this is the moment England reached the semifinals of Euro 2024 they had to do it the hard way winning a penalty shoot out 53 against Switzerland a huge save from Jordan pford to deny Switzerland’s first penalty which was taken by Manuel aangi scenes of Jubilation they’ve been booing they’ve been booing England’s performance but nothing to complain about now because England are one win from backto back European championship finals three semi-finals in four tournaments as well for Gareth Southgate a lot to feel positive about Ryan for sure I mean we’re we’re in the tournament we you know we’re still building you’re yet to see the best of us but that can only Bode positives I think when we achieve that performance we’ll really be a fret to to deal with and hopefully bring it home absolutely still building you say yet to see the best what exactly do they need to do against either the Netherlands or turkey um I say consistency in the system now um make them make them changes uh that we saw in the latter stages of the game with the likes of Cole Palmer coming in it was good to see Luke Shaw back fit as well so yeah something along them lines you mentioned Luke Shaw he played well when he came on what does that do now does that change things yeah I think he’s he’s showcased that that he’s fit and capable um it wasn’t easy game to come into uh there was a lot to do a lot of demand physically to test his injury but I would definitely like to see him come in on the if they keep a fre4 fre him to come in at left wing back and I’d like to see azri cono retain his his starting position as well if he’s fit I mentioned earlier three semi-finals in four tournaments under G Southgate does he deserve to be criticized or are we finally seeing the best England side under him yeah I think we’re seeing if you if you step back and look at he uh overarching managerial career of England has been fantastic you know he has progressed the country and done fantastic things and gave us all beautiful moments but I think the judgment is of the here and now and the performances of the team that we see so it’s not a critique of his overall uh England management career but everybody’s allowed their judgment on the the game by- game basis can see out of the corner of my eye be beo sacka getting interviewed just want to talk about him for a moment because he did score wonderful goal for the equalizer he was asked a lot today he’s been given player of the match and then stepping up to take a penalty when we know just how long it took him to go over get over the Miss in the last penalty shoot sure is you know Testament of him as a as an athlete and a human I think to see him come back strength from strength to strength and dispatch that penalty with such conviction in another big moment for his country is amazing and he you know he’s had his slight critiques over the games as well but he’s one man for sure today that that answered all of them he was outstanding today yeah absolutely great to hear him say how proud of himself he is as well looking at those big players for the big moments would you say they they did all step up today there’s been some criticism for Harry Kane uh yeah I think you know sometimes the position doesn’t always demand goals even though you are a striker sometimes you are occupying center backs bringing other people into play perhaps that’s not so evident right now um but you know you can’t you can’t doubt him he’s he’s one of our greatest ever goal scorers and for sure he’ll have his moment and and hopefully like P’s managed to uh turn it around he can uh improve his performance for the next game I’m reading England fans saying online that take every game to penalties it’s our best attack but how good is it knowing that that they’ve got those penalties in their locker yeah it is I think that was amazing for us to see especially England we haven’t had we haven’t got a rich history in in penalty taking to but to see that for sure maybe parking the bus and going to penalties is the okay as well do you think that’s what they were doing extra time though because it looked like they were Clinging On didn’t it Switzerland a couple of great chances but do you think they were thinking okay right if we get this to penalties we can win it for sure I think in in the latter stages of the second half of extra time and it’s nice for us to go into them moments full of full of conviction and confidence and Trust in our abilities I think that’s a it’s a mentality shift I think we saw today it wasn’t uh we wasn’t downhearted or you know downbeat about going to into penalties against Switzerland you know that they’re a fantastic opposition but let’s take it as a confidence booster we have fantastic uh technicians yeah a lot was saying that Switzerland were the favorites in this right if england well I say if they they are through to the semi-final but if they facing the Netherlands or turkey would you say it’ll be a harder game what do you think definitely a harder game um more of the same today if if we play uh turkey I would say it’d be in the balance uh you know a Resolute team that are finding a lot of form especially if they come through against Holland but if we play Holland I think we’d have to we need a significant Improvement on our on our performance [Music]

  1. At what point do England actually start playing football? As a neutral they are a horrendous watch. They are the international equivalent of a Mourinho team. Why can’t they actually play football, given the alleged ‘world class’ players they have? They have literally played sh*t for 99% of this tournament. No patterns of play. No system. Nothing at all, really. It’s bizarre. A penalty shoot-out saves them. They don’t even look that interested. If they win this thing, they will be the most unworthy winners since the deeply crappy 2004 Greece team. It’s the ugliest anti-football I’ve seen since Scotland. And that’s a deep insult to Scotland! It’s quite clear if there is any footballing justice, Spain should win this thing.

  2. It's called riding your luck which I'm sure will run out when they meet Spain or France if they get that far.

  4. As soon as the game ended, I was wondering what Ryan Betrand thought of the win. Lo and behold, Sky delivers just what I was looking for!

  5. British being excited with the below average football they play it’s a very alarming indicator for their awareness about the sport .

  6. Good our beloved England have a foreign guy Saka to score our goal for us .But also is good we got the easy draw
Allthough i still feel we shall lose v the Dutch but if not then we just dont have a hope v either Spain or France in final
and so football wont be coming home , sadly cant be even if we won it because Scotland who invented the game way back |
So lets be honest we have been very fortunate to get this far via luck and being in the easy side of the draw .
Winners of Spain v france i reckon shall win final ..But i think Spain have been best side in tournament ..

  7. We don't want to rely on penalties, penalties are not a guaranteed win no matter how good you are!! Things can go wrong there
