Have you ever been for a fitting and just not got on with the clubs you decided on?
OR
Maybe been playing poorly on the day, made your purchase and never settled?
OR
Like Q, gone somewhat against the advice you’re hearing and then realized you might have got that decision wrong?
Should any of the above scenarios sound familiar to you 1) that sucks 2) let’s fix that.
After wanting tour Lite golf shafts in the P770 Irons Q realized from our original fitting and some follow up conversations that he might have gone too light.
We head to KBSX in Carlsbad California and with the assistance of Master Fitter David Anderson go back through the shaft process with a new set of eyes.
We learn what type of swing profile will go into the different shaft models and what you can expect based on how you load the golf shaft.
NOTE – this is a chaotic video as we intended to take you on this real life crisis experience of Q, our man behind the lens.
I still stand by being the CEO of your own golf game.
Credit where it’s due Q flagged up early that he may have made a mistake and gone a little too light BUT it also highlights that I should have been stronger on voicing my own opinion about a slightly heavier weight in the shaft.
Mistakes happen but that’s the beauty of the KBS Experience shop and how they’ll get you happy should you find this scenario happens to you.

what’s up guys welcome back to the channel I’ve just had a conversation with my man Q behind the camera and we’ve come to the realization after discussing this for some time that uh I was right and the irons that he talked me into him taking the shafts he is telling me that he thinks I was right so I knew all along I was right I babyf footed the situation now what we’re going to do is we’re going to take off to KBS and put him into iron shafts that they got a bit more meat to him and got a bit of a better feel to them and he’ll be able to control the ball flight in all seriousness I could be talking to you if you’ve had a fitting and you’ve gone through it even with someone who claims they’re one of the best Fitters out there and you’ve convinced them to go down another Avenue you have to get in a place where you’re comfortable with the choices that are made because there’s nothing worse than getting that set of irons and leaving and then being like man there was just something unturned there about me needing slightly heavier and maybe wasn’t hitting it crisp you got to be big enough to walk away from the fitting think about it and come back if it’s not right for you fortunately as you’re going to see now in this KBS session q and I have the ability to Vibe and change some shafts and get it right but it did make me feel kind of good that we’ve had to go back and do this intro because of course I was right I mean why do we have a doubt myself be sure to check it out hit subscribe let’s see you at KBS on you need to see if that’s high in the face that’s toe right to right right welcome back to the here we go we’re just doing a little update on our man q and his irons for some reason they might not quite be dialed but he’s hitting Toes that he thinks is heels be sure to subscribe let’s watch go freak you let’s talk about this let me warm up oh yeah yeah no warm up dran hour the pressure of the camera from behind the camera to in front of it jez you wanted this dial let’s go let me get like 20 shots 20 shots weo stick I mean sound a bit wider G stand a bit wi there’s just no balance there whatsoever so to update it’s 770s it’s tall light KBS gol shots 100 G I’ve just hit them they actually feel quite nice there you go so better contact we see an efficiency of 13 so you’re talking smash Factor smash Factor yeah that’s not bad though what would you want to see 4 138 137 1439 more there even with an MC you think you can get 1.4 smash I usually get I get that with bigger bigger face you HG head it’s a loft R okay 33 34° is going to be 138 139 so that feels terrible right yeah feels heavy stiff a lot of work which is why he’s in the lights that’s the SE taper where the stiffness is down in the tip section so now I’m going to go in the tour shaft for dummies Link in there see he got 136 there and look at the number okay yeah as I warm up not on like the 10 shot you guys are like oh yeah you’re just supposed to hit it great on the first 10 yeah you got to play straight leg when you walk up to the first D and fresh out the car you got to hit it straight on the first D don’t you it doesn’t happen you warm up every time so now we’ve gone from tour light 100 to se taper light 110 I’m not going to say what the shaft is until I hits I don’t want him to know how’s it feel feels good you hear that so you got his highest ball speed I see what he got his highest ball speed there okay look at his smash Factor 136 you said now the interesting is you said that one you felt felt 7 yeah yeah you said It felt lighter than this look at the gram weight on it oh it’s 110 what was gram weight on this 110 so it’s the same it’s the same weight so why are you different golf shafts that’s the difference in golf shafts okay that’s feeling the stiffness you’re feeling the stiffness in the tip here and that’s what you perceive is heavy yeah okay you are a Tor shaft you like the stiffness in the handle okay you like the stiffness and handle so you’re in the right shaft you know but maybe maybe to match your swing speed we need to go a touch heavier get away from your cuz what you were perceiving is heavy was actually probably stiffness in the tip but he likes that light light weight it’s still only 110 G it’s not 125 you’re saying that that one is too light and he can’t feel ahead I’m saying it’s too light and causing Mis strikes he’s in the right profile he’s just it’s too light so the shaft’s a little too wobbly at the end if you want to so he should have listened to me is what he’ll say he should have listened to you and went be the CEO of your own fit you should have just listen to me out the gate then answer is if you’re regular golfer and you get a good fitter trust them that they’ve they’ve seen shots this stuff will feel oh that felt good so why is it feeling better it feels light though it’s the right profile weight is more important than that why would you go for this one try it what’s that W absolutely try it so what’s the differences between tour V and the KBS so the KBS tour and the KBS tour V are on the same same step pattern profile the Tor V just gets the steps quicker so the shaft gets thicker quicker this is a stiffer shaft at the same weight the diameter of the shaft is bigger he not I say we’ll see I can tell no we’ll see yeah you’re not going to lie we’ll see no worries he’s not going to lie go ahead you hate when it STI but it’s him feeling the stiffness he’s not going to like me Hey My My wedges are heavy hey like this just they should just to piss him off you like I don’t care how if you really like it or not just say you like it actually that’s what it feel yes yes yes yes would it break your heart if he’s playing the same shaft as you no but he can I play what want efficiency actually that F okay efficiency was 133 look he’s got 164 so you see you were talking about the sh the going too far again chy told you in the video go heavier you’re in the right profile yeah it’s the same head it’s a b770 head I haven’t changed that at all I didn’t need to change the loss I didn’t need to manipulate anything this is great what we were just talking about in the video of if you have a shaft’s too light he’s a he’s handle pulling and digging yeah with the right profile shaft just too light such an hit that no he didn’t but that’s the thing it’s right away he did he hit that look at his efficiency 132 we want 136 137 breaking the action Let Me Wait so which one is it the tour 110 not the tour V not his not that not his basically the tour V is not quite friendly with you if you don’t bust it okay you got to bust it you have to have a very aggressive snap down at impact that’s why what he’s doing right here the shaft the more he does this little drill that he’s doing yeah this Sha’s going to feel better and better to him cuz it’s meant for that late snap down here all Phil Nicholson where Tommy Tommy Fleetwood would yeah he gets there and snaps late quickly got you this is back to the tour 110 low in the blade yeah cuz you got to get this up to like 168 170 yeah that’s the number I keep looking at cuz that’s the one that you’re going to talk to me about afterwards when you finish this and you’re going to be like I’m not got to strengthen these things I got to do this no just it works there you go that was nice you hear that CRA I mean that crack was different yeah okay so look we see 138 oh go try take swing speed times it by two right 176 right in the middle of those numbers you can’t be flipping it’s got to be strong here so use it you know what I mean that’s good get a freaking power and synchronization well the shaft is decided so the conclusion is for everyone out there that saw Q’s fit we now have somehow ended up in the KBS Studio because he’s got a lot of stuff going through his mind he can’t get comfortable with it Q needs to stop chickening winging and adding Dynamic Loft we’ve put him in a shaft it’s going to be getting closer to where we think he needs to be so he’s now starting to listen to us which is fantastic I needed your help from the start instead of controlling his own destiny and going for a really light shaft that gives him the red arrows and sprays it all over the place he’s now in that KBS tour that’s going to work with him a bit better as he does that Tommy Fleetwood drill to give him a better position impact I like that anything I think a good little nugget is is sometimes light shafts feel really great but it doesn’t mean they perform correctly so I should have got a hold of them a bit harder that’s on me now he’s in the you got him in the right profile you just need to be too much now someone’s got to rehap we’ll talk about that next time

If I win the lottery, you’re my first phone call. Lol. Best in the biz.
I remember going to CC to get fit for amongst other things a superhybrid. Strike was bad and kept telling him shaft was too much work. He put back on rack after 4 swings.
Bought it anyway because i could tell the head was going to work. With a stock shaft, it hits exactly the carry and spin i was looking for.
I really like the KBS Tour 130 xsriff with the satin finish. Feels & looks awesome!
Dang Mr Trottie!! I went from the Qi with the 85 max shaft ti the 790 with the tour lite and this is making me rethink the shaft! I gotta get to the KBS studio!! And I got a question for you I've got the Qi max 10.5 with a stiff standard TR 5 blue shaft. I'm consistently around 280 ish with the driver and can feel the little bend/whip of the shaft. What driver KBS driver shaft would you suggest? I'm 38 and have a decent strong swing speed not sure the exact number but with that info do you suggest a certain shaft? And I play my driver at 44.5 if that makes a difference
Just got C-Taper lite’s for my first brand new set of irons. I may never switch out of them
Hi Trottie, started learning 5 months ago, busy dad of 3 but trying! Been on the course only 6 times, but having lessons etc. too soon for a full fitting or keep learning?
Dave is a great fitter. Love that he focuses on the swings and then goes to the numbers to verify what he sees and hears.
Ummmmmmm time stamp 5:57, can I get a “that’s what she said?”
Trottie, I was just fit into some PIngs, but the fitter convinced me to wait for the TM P7CBs and hit those against the Pings. Any news when they're coming out?
