Round 3 Highlights | 2024 BMW International Open

Highlights from the third round at the 2024 BMW International Open, where Ewen Ferguson and Jordan Smith battled at the top.

The DP World Tour heads to Golfclub München Eichenried for the BMW International Open, the final event of the European Swing, the fourth of five Global Swings on the 2024 Race to Dubai. There’s plenty at stake at the sixth and final counting event of the Swing, with a spot at the Genesis Scottish Open up for grabs to the Swing Champion as well as places in The 152nd Open at Royal Troon for the top five players not otherwise exempt on the Race to Dubai. Current Swing leader Guido Migliozzi will be teeing up this week hoping to retain his position at the top above Nacho Elvira, while Thriston Lawrence returns to defend the title he won last year and last week’s champion Marcel Siem is among a number of German stars that will be hoping to impress on home soil. Away from the top of the rankings, one of the biggest focuses of the week will be on Bernhard Langer, the most successful German golfer of all time, who is set to make his 513th and final appearance on the DP World Tour. Ryan Fox will also make his third appearance in a regular DP World Tour event this season as he begins a three-week stretch in Europe and he is joined by 2016 Masters champion Danny Willett, who won his maiden DP World Tour title at the BMW International Open in 2012 at Golf Club Gut Lärchenhof Cologne.

contact was good oh get a get a hop forward what a shot that is brilliant from long gas to Gim me isn’t it yeah nice look he’s in the 140s for putting at the minute Jordan Smith but he’s fourth in Greens in regulation and he just needs a few more of those cuz he is such a good player lovely three yeah it’s tough to have it all isn’t it come on use that back stop play for 115 and zip it back well something’s happened what’s going on there fantastic golf shot but looking straight straight across at somebody I think it was at u h good morning it is a beautiful morning virtually windless pretty friendly ho location here at the second yeah 68 is a score that’s well that’s at least what you’re looking for today out there with these conditions it’s stunning the greens are perfect as was that iron shot from Matt bires are plenty J even make a look B part at two how good Alon Lee found the Fairway of the short four so just a gat witch controlling the spin winter I think it’s minus 9 at the fifth definitely a putt you can have a go at it’s pretty slow left to right up yeah there you go he’s a nice putter you said it the top of the show he’s sort of one of those little sleepers that will just keep popping along he won’t he won’t miss a lot and he won’t give give a lot of way B second the par five ninth looks like he’s having a cut at this yeah up and over the tree pins on the front as well hello how good is that yeah how’s that come out ask to get down great shot Uzi perfect shot yeah he just missed it in the first cut didn’t he’s obviously laid up Jeff Winters having a good morning as anyone he’s had a couple of birdies already this for another oh back door they all count we’re three birdies in a row at the minute how Braves you want to be Jordan Smith very brave smart layup that really smart yeah he’s level tall for the day he knows he’s going to get it inside 15 ft at the very most Ferguson what about the dead arm shot absolutely he’s got it all Wy one of the marshals had another go big high oh oh that [Applause] five big move from Smith just out with the flat stick from The Fringe here at 12 for rid that’s got a choice got a chance takes it this is unbelievable they’re going in from all angles now R everywhere we go different cultures that a nice three quter swing how’s the distance very good there you go there you go he have that to get that two- shot lead back [Applause] again smooth stroke cool finish eight on the par y d up cutle alongside Ferguson at the top of the lead board equals the best score of the week so far 64 Smith shot second at 12 after the wide off the t pop shot oh played it well didn’t he played it well oh played it brilliantly Sensational what a Chip Shot wow he couldn’t land it on the green he picked a spot in the first cut little scrap at times make it look it tough hole though and that’s an excellent part that’s a great get the jail card played on 14 no happy to make a four sometimes the hog gets in the way though and you make yourself a three he’s kept the pace up Beau so nicely because his pace is good he’s Brave is it under is am I close is it just that looks good oh great part great verdict always over the years one of the toughest holes if not the toughest hole on the golf course so that is a really well played hole curious to see what happens with the final groups on that hold as well if anybody’s tempted difficult to get all the way back to this flag you see it looks like it’s ped right in the very back of the green oh that’s a brave effort crack a short there for S one of the few that have managed that m ly on the T at 17 216 well by my counts oh the I5 is still available oh thought it disappeared then it was the flag yeah the first ever fully electric bmw5 series expect this one to be dancing around a bit the flag stick yeah whenever this flag was in play you hoped you get a good t- shot cuz you wanted to go for it in two to get it past the water oh dancing it round as is what a shot that is it was a good wedge a little bit of spin but wisely played left of it pretty much straight up the hill very much in this tomorrow oh good try good try it’s aart Smith will of course be in that final goup great round to golf 66 for the Englishman from Chi one over through three there it was but what a r yeah look good on the greens hasn’t he two at the [Applause] top tied at the top after a subblime 66 from Jordan Smith 1400 is the number through three rounds y dentor with a tremendous round 64 for him gets him within one Jordan that felt like the perfect move six under did it feel like a perfect run and golf at all I mean it’s never perfect um I mean obviously H like 11 and 12 always help um hold a long put there for eagle and then chipped in for Birdie on on 12 so um yeah yeah it was a lot of good stuff so really happy I remember watching that on TV the the eagle part was massive the chipping was done to Perfection how big was that from a momentum perspective yeah I said to I said to my Cy once it once it went in that’s probably probably one of my top five shots ever hit it was it was dead basically and it just came out perfectly landed on a six pun and and luckily went in so um yeah that that was massive for momentum to get get close to yubo as possible um and then take it into tomorrow you’ve got an opportunity to win for the third time on the DP W tour how much are you looking forward to that test going against you and everyone else yeah looking forward to it I mean it’s going to be again it’s going to be low scoring tomorrow so I think we got we got to stay stay aggressive when when we can and um yeah it’s going to be low scor as we want to take those those birdie opportunities okay well done today good luot tomorrow thank you
