With just five weeks remaining before the FedExCup Playoffs, the PGA TOUR heads to the Quad Cities for the John Deer Classic. Jordan Spieth returns to the John Deere Classic for the first time since 2015. Spieth is a two-time winner at TPC Deere Run including in his last appearance nine years ago when he shot a third-round 61. Spieth’s 2013 victory at the John Deere Classic was his first TOUR title. Reigning champion Sepp Straka aims to become the first repeat winner since Steve Stricker won three in a row from 2009-2011. The Austrian is currently 17th in the FedExCup standings and has four top-10 finishes so far this year. Jason Day is another contender with four top-10 finishes in 2024 and returns to TPC Deere Run for the first time since 2011. Day has never missed the cut at the John Deere Classic in five appearances, with his best finish (T15) coming in back-to-back years, 2009-10. Other names to look out for this week include Sungjae Im, J.T. Poston, Jake Knapp, Aaron Rai and Joel Dahmen.

into the weekend here currently tied to top of the leaderboard CT pan who struggled coming in just making two of his last six Cuts but he’s gone 6563 to race out to 14 under par his last six holes so he’s really been stuck he did Birdie uh like everybody else the par five second is that it is Eric Cole pulls it out from the bunker and ties the lead at 13 under par I would have never dreamt coming out of that front left bunker was the way to play this hole but Eric Cole thought differently all right Nick Dunlap on the T at 14 he is in need of a few birdies today looks like the proper line to take that bank uh-huh a good call RD will it get all the way up there yes it will wow what a drive for Nick Dunlap he will have that for an eagle two to get the five under par J and day down this right side and the difficulty is that he’s got an overhang right at the trajectory that he needs to hit this so trying to bring something in a little lower and this just a gorgeous shot over there right next to sep struck and that’s going to be two legitimate birdie opportunities on a tough par fall he’s a good dude awesome really good dude he plays in the same event that where I met Denny McCarthy that I host yeah in uh in December and he shows up and he’s very giving of his time and I had a long conversation last week bill B hos boy that’s a good shot stormed on the scene last week at projected FedEx Cup rankings this statistically this hole has me shaking my head it’s not that hard it’s an easy t- shot I’ve seen guys making putts and birdies yet this hole is playing overp 16 Bogies and four doubles today on this golf hole much tougher par three here at the 12 yeah H location here 12 all the way back the very back middle of the screen 30 on what a shot yeah well done using that slope lift keep the hammer down here and hit it in tweet tweet range it’s at about 11:00 here Doug sit down get down good shot oh it’s going to be pretty juicy when he gets up there look at that Jordan SPI looking to open with three straight birdies eight under and then it looks like he’s going to start with a bird here today now Novak Andrew Novak at the third the drewster come on oh right over the flag and draw it back and a kick in to get to five under number two and how good a story is 48-year-old Zack Johnson grew up just an hour and a half drive away and Cedar Rapids that was on up 15 to 20 mph as we’re out at 15 now yeah Harry Hall 155 yd currently 1100 needs a spin it toward the hole and he does just that wonderful shot in there m into that top 10 started right at that
