it’s welcome Alex gild from cop TV who’s joining us now Alex appreciate you coming on my man thank you very very much um I asked Rory the question about Chelsea asked J Mossy the question about United are they excited for the start of the Season how worried are you for the start of the season with no Jurgen Club he chaps how are we long time no both well um yeah listen I don’t think nervous is is necessarily the word the word we’re stepping into unknown territory with ar slot we don’t really know what’s going to happen um but as far as I’m aware all the people I’ve spoke to say how competent he is how well he’s going to do in the Premier League so I’m looking forward to it I’m excited more than nervous at they I have to be honest in terms of transfers obviously look we haven’t sort of gone crazy at the start yet on his slots obviously looking at what is a priority and for some reason this left side Anthony Gordon’s been linked on his je side Nico Williams has been linked and the Anthony Gordon one just seems to not be going away which concerns me as a Liverpool fan cuz I’m like one second we’ve got Lis Diaz over there so I don’t understand why there’s this want to kind of I think downgrade to Anthony Gordon I totally agree with you Addy I was actually outside anfield yesterday and I asked uh array of Liverpool fans how they would feel about potentially Anthony Gordon coming to the club and I’ll be honest with you I probably spoke to about 12 people one person said it would be a good move you you mentioned leis Diaz I think Anthony Gordon has slightly better output than in for Newcastle last season but we can’t also forget that because of the PRS deadline um sorry the P PSR deadline the ffp deadline Newcastle were pressured to sell an English Talent um they offered Liverpool um not only Anthony Gordon at a cut price but also in exchange for Geral quansa and although his head must have been turned because it’s his Boyhood Club his agent was obviously Tred I feel like that one isn’t going to go away I do believe that he may end up at Liverpool one day but if you’re asking me on that left side you got lisis Diaz there you’ve got Cody gakpo lit up the Euros we’re also been linked to Ryan a Nuri from wolv so that whole left side seems like it’s um under the microphone and under the uh you know under investigation at the minute but I think what Liverpool have at the minute is is better than what we’re being linked with to be honest Alex I’m slightly surprised here just because I rate Anthony Gordon so highly do you think that there’s potentially an element of um of cynicism towards Anthony Gordon because of his links to Everton because I’ve thought that when you spoke to Liverpool fans outside of anfield and obviously you being a Liverpool fan I thought that you may have been quite excited at the prospect of signing Anthony Gordon he had a brilliant season last year he’s part of this England setup he’s a very good player he’d do a job for you he’d elevate your options wouldn’t he I’m surprised that you’re not Elevate he’s a good elev suggest he’s better than Lis Diaz yeah I don’t I don’t go along with that listen he takes a lot of boxes he’s young he’s got Premier League experience he’s a scouser that’s what scousers love and funny enough an evonium walked past yesterday and I asked him his opinion on Anthony Gordon and he said he wasn’t good enough for Everton and they were surprised they even got 40 mil so I’m not downplaying what you’re saying Rory I agree there’s a there’s a player there um he stretches the game he’s high and wide he can really be an option for Trent with those long balls over the top but like ad says we have Lis Diaz I can’t see how Anthony Gordon starts ahead of of uh L Diaz and Cody gakpo on the left I’m really surprised by this jent jent I I defer to your Superior knowledge on all things Liverpool the pair of you certainly know more than me but this feels slanderous towards Anthony Gordon that crazy though I’m actually surprised that you’re surprised by our reaction over Diaz over Gordon Gordon Gordon didn’t stop scoring goals last season SC 12 goals he had a good season yeah had a brilliant season he he was he was the Jordan the crown of England’s under 21’s the previous summer mhm f look you you boys know best play I just don’t think he’s an upgrade I think if that side was a problem then fix it I I don’t actually think the left side actually is a problem there are other problems with Liverpool and one of those um Alex is is that number nine through the middle and I feel like everyone might have forgotten it because Dar Nunes scored a few goals in the coper America but there is a there is a a problem there and it’d be interesting to see what arlot does does he go jotter does he look for a replacement what do you think he does at the start of the season with Darwin Nunes I see absolutely no way that Liverpool get rid of darn Nunes they’ve paid way too much to just bin off the project after two seasons look I think in all comps it was 30 plus goal achievements last season goal attributions um oh don’t do that don’t do that hangang there a big Nunes fan I know you you criticize him slightly but I’m a massive nunz fan and I do believe and I know I said this last year but this is his year now we’re seeing it for copper America he’s acclimatizing a little bit more to the language I would have liked to have seen a little bit more effort in in learning the language I would have liked to have seen maybe a tougher stance on deleting Instagram pictures of Liverpool I’ve spoke to a Benfica fan he did the same when times were a little bit tough at Benfica these are all things that can be improved on but he h he slot has to give him his full backing I agree with the jot thing that’s a situation where you could maybe rotate it almost every game Cody can play through the middle as well but Dar nunz is nowhere near finished at Liverpool nowhere near finished and I truly believe this is as year he’s got to get 30 goals this year for me though to to be deemed a success let’s hope for I mean two seasons I I think like he’s had a go if I’m honest with you but we’ll see it’s a new manager could be a new formation a new style of football uh one player looks like he is saying at Liverpool is moella and if you were to ask me a few months ago I’d have been telling you he’s 100% Going to Saudi Arabia and he’s going to end his career there and he’s going to fill his pockets it looks like he’s staying he didn’t have the season we expect from Mo obviously coming off the back of the injury at the afcon surely he needs another good season to really Propel this side yeah and listen a Bad season for Mo Salah is still about 25 goals so if that’s a bad season I’ll take them every year Moos Salah I believe still has at least two more years at the top um and then I even believe that even if he gets to 37 38 he could still be the best player in Saudi and still go and do that if he needs to be um but yeah listen Moos Salah if he’s in the team and he starts every single game you are looking at at least 40 goal um attributions per season so the eye test fail sometimes I’m not going to lie to you there are games you watch him and say he’s had a stinker but he gets his penalty or he gets his tapping or he gets his deflected shot that goes in I think this year he is going to have that renewed hunger to prove himself once again go again try and get as far as you can in the Champions League and show who you are under this new manager as well yeah I kind of agree with you here Alex I think that with everything new going on at Liverpool at the moment slot coming in you do need that element of consistency and there is nothing there is nothing more guaranteed in the Premier League than Muhammad Salah is there it would be a big mistake to allow him to leave of you as you embark on this new new Journey under slot how are you feeling about him generally speaking on he slot yeah like I said earlier everyone I’ve spoken to including fireo fans believes that he could be the next CL their words not mine I’ll obviously um decide that when I see the the evidence listen I think think he has to start really well I really do he’s got a really tough preseason I know that’s a bit of a juer position because preseason supposed to be fairly straightforward and no big test but you know it’s it’s Manchester United and Arsenal away in Philadelphia and Carolina and then third game of the season it’s Old Trafford away IP switch away first game of the season 12:30 I mean I don’t know what it is with Liverpool and 1230s but he’s he’s obviously got that one nice and early and I wish him all the best I really do there’s not a bad word have heard about him I’m interested to see if he plays 210 I know that there was a player who went to Brighton today um who he was looking at from Fino what we don’t want to do is do the the teog copy and paste players from your former Club to your pre to your current Club he needs time to build his own identity and he will get time at Liverpool I know Chelsea Rory you might not get that necessarily but at Liverpool for sure he will get as long as he needs to to succeed but if it doesn’t start well that’s when the the Eagles start circling but I do think he’s got everyone’s support and klopp by singing his name when he left took all of the pressure off his shoulders I’ve never seen a manager sing the name of a manager that’s about to join so yeah he he’s he’s got klopp’s rework Squad and let’s see what he can do with it final one Alex I mean I even feel bad even asking questions about this player because he’s been fantastic and he’s arguably one of the the bargains I think in premier league history and that’s Andy Robertson um it’s all about energy for Andy Robertson down that left side isn’t it he is picking up niggles maybe the energy output isn’t what it once was and that that’s going to happen right I mean klopp literally ran these guys down to the final bones but is there concern about Andy Robertson on that left side I mean do we need to be looking at a permanent almost a bit the way that there is the Connor Bradley for Trent do we need to be looking at someone that can fill in rather than your Joe gomers going out there well listen I’m a big fan of Costas Simas I think he’s uh a bit of an s Hero at the club whenever Robinson hasn’t been there he’s filled in more than capable obviously the links to Ryan at Nori haven’t gone away I think he ends up at Man City to be honest and I think Robertson isn’t much of a warry and and part of the leadership team the senior leadership team that Liverpool have Robertson’s a big part of that so Arna slot will be looking at him to almost be that third or fourth captain in the team again Joe Gomez can play there do you know what add it would be it would be silly of me to say that Liverpool needs an overhaul CU I really doesn’t I don’t think they do I still think Robertson’s got two years I still think salah’s got two years if you were talking about Henderson and fabinho that’s the generation that has moved on but van dijk’s still got two or three more years Allison still got two or three more years so I think there’s a fine balance between experience now and fresh players like Connor Bradley like Stefan betic coming in but again I I don’t want to just say we need a new left backs I don’t think we do maybe that’s me being a bit too loyal but I I still think you know forget the
