When usually inside 100 yards you will find it much more consistent NOT to shift your weight. A weight shift is used for power and is not necessary in a short shot. This will allow for a much easier timed shot and more consistency through your approach shots.
hi there my name’s Danny Lee today I’m going to show you how to hit a no shift shot now this is the kind of shot that you want to hit when typically you’re about 100 yards an in it allows you to be more consistent and if you ever heard of stack and tilt it’s almost the exact same thing you wouldn’t want to use it on a full shot because you’re not going to get your full distance out of it and what I mean by that is without aight transfer you’re not actually going to get all of your power you don’t get as much momentum going through the shot but it’s okay on a short shot you get on a short shot and you keep all your weight up over your front leg the one thing you’ll notice you ask a lot of these guys out on tour you know uh I spent some time with tabino and he was telling me the one thing he always does is keeps his weight up on his front foot on a short shot Jim furri will tell you the same thing they all feel like they’re trying to keep their weight in one spot on a short shut that’s because if you’ve got a full weight transfer going through it’s very hard to time that out in the half swing so what you can feel is go up you can even kind of pick up your right foot to make sure you’re all the way over that front axis now once you’re there just going to give it a little pop and turn I’ll demonstrate now this will be I’ve got a pitching w here which is about 130 yd club for me I’m going to hit it 100 y so I’m just going to put all my weight up onto the front foot nice little nice little toss right at the back swing break the tension out of the arms and then we’re just going to turn through weight up on the front foot a little pop and a turn carries it right through you want to feel the same thing on a 30 yard shot a 40 yard shot even on your putting if you’re moving this way through your shot and you’re moving laterally your alignment’s going to change that’s when you start getting all those squirly shots start hitting them thin blading them across the green hitting them fat that’s stuff you don’t want stuff that cost you money on the golf course now to get to get into that Groove make sure when you’re up there that you can feel that axis and you can just turn right around it good luck go get him
