Braves drop game to Pirates 4-2. One bad inning and a quiet day again on offense
well that’s annoying you want a picture of a 2024 Braves loss that was it um pitching solid but one bad four batter stretch which has been the theme for Spencer swell and boach third time through the order hit Jack swinsky with the first curve ball uh in the fifth inning and then he was able to come back and strike out McCutchen and Brian Reynolds and then um leave an absolute meat ball cutter to O’Neal Cruz and he I can’t even think of the word that’s appropriate for how he destroyed that baseball but meatball cutter in the middle of the plate and then Edward olivaris walked um and then Ry deles hit a two-run bomb another uh mistake pitch the Braves were able to take the lead in the bottom of the fourth with a sing U lead off walk by Marcel a single by Matt but a double play by Austin and we couldn’t really add on when Bailey was faltering due to the Heat and just lack of command we couldn’t add on and then the Pirates did their thing um so spener pitched well but again the the one bad stretch of batters and then Grant Holmes was amazing uh for his three bummer was amazing um in his inning and we had a chance in the seventh uh Riley walked and Murphy singled down the line first and third one out Orlando arcia who’s been on The Struggle Bus um all year long swings wildly at a dirt ball slider and then Travis darno who pinches pinch hit grounds out ends that threat and then we put a scare in them in the ninth with a Duval infield single and and um Murphy double um and then Orlando Ria puts a good swing on the ball and Michael a Taylor uh defensive wizard shows his defensive Wizardry uh the Braves got robbed twice on good diving Outfield plays Michael a Taylor robs Ry of a two-run single and more of a rally instead it was just a sack fly and Zack Short came in to pinch it for Forest wall got it through 31 count and absolutely demolished it but didn’t get any air on IT 109 mph ground out we lose um and just just lack of lack of competitive at bats a lot of uh a lot of quick innings for the Pirates and the chances we did get we couldn’t cash in first and second two outs in the first um couldn’t do anything with it um and then the fourth we couldn’t like I said we couldn’t uh put a crooked number up there and Spencer got bit by the third time through the order and just some ugly pitches that he didn’t get back and he probably shouldn’t have got back uh but two out two out magic for the Pirates and we couldn’t must any but as always Go’s Champion forever still a series win but I feel like we have to shuffle the deck again because uh snit doesn’t have a lot of quality options right now with Duval and RC are struggling the way they are and um just Luke Williams and Zack schw nothing against them but we just got to shuffle the deck again give snit snit some more options cuz cuz I just feel like uh uh there’s been too many quick easy innings for opponents and that’s not the mark of the Braves and I know that’s part of the injuries but you got to figure something out but as always go Braves champions for us 286
