our next guest is an NBA champion serus XM NBA host Pelicans color analyst and a fox sports radio NBA analyst he is hustling a hustler extraordinaire our man Antonio Daniels what’s up brother christas star shing how you guys doing man we are great my man we are great and let’s get it we got a lot to get into the big news of course coming out of this at least the second round of the draft bronnie James teaming up with his Dad Antonio I mean you’ve been around the game the NBA game for close to 30 years did you ever think you’d see something like this they’re the first father son Duo to play together it’s an awesome story did you ever think you’d see this no I mean the thing is realistically you don’t even think about this like no one ever thought about this until LeBron said I want I want to play with my son you know because if you look at like I just saw a a um the roster for like the 17 and under USA basketball team Gilbert aras’s son is on there Trevor arza son’s on there Carmelo Anthony’s son’s on there Bryce James is on there and just like the the the wild thing to think about like people are going to hate on this forever it’s a given because it’s LeBron James so people are going to hate it rich Paul I can’t believe he did this and told people not all this other of myself the fact of the matter is I got three kids I got a daughter that’s 18 we have a daughter that’s 13 and I got a son that’s six I would love to play with my son I would love that I’m sure carelo Anthony would love to play with his son Jas would love to play with his son Trevor Reza would love to play with his son this is rare air that we’re talking about and as opposed to people constantly hating on it and thinking of a reason to dislike it or discredit bronnie James is man sit back and enjoy I’m with you and if anything I think it enhances Braun’s Legacy because he’s done something that to be honest nobody’s really been able to do which is be elite for so long that he did have a child that comes around and he’s still not just on a team he’s a legit All-Star caliber player I I mean my thing with LeBron is his legacy is what it is I don’t think this like the only thing I feel like now that can enhance LeBron’s Legacy is Championship right that’s it I think that’s where LeBron is at this think about it he’s the NBA’s all-time leading scorer he’s top five in assist like him playing with his son isn’t going to move him up in the go conversation LeBron is one of the greatest to ever do it no matter what whether not bronny was playing with LeBron or not when we start talking about Legacy as far as uh NBA standards are concerned I think it’s great what he’s doing now I think it’s unprecedented what he’s doing now but the only thing I think that actually changes LeBron’s Legacy moving forward is bringing another championship to La you you guys be careful Chris there’s an emotional component to this that for all the good that Bron is done never really got into any trouble been a standup dude he’s still kind of a polarizing figure it’s a lot of love but also a lot of hate when it comes to his evaluation let us have a big time moment Antonio when him and his son participate sometimes in the near future and win a game together he his his transition as far as how beloved he is I think still is unfinished oh well when we talk about that kind of Legacy I think that’s different when I think of Legacy I think of in between the four lines that that’s what I think of Legacy that’s what I’m referencing like his legacy as a family man his legacy as an entrepreneur his legacy as a role model his legacy as a standup individual that is what it is and I’m with you there because with LeBron there’s a ton of love but there’s also a ton of hate you know and with this you know as soon as bronnie got drafted I I went to social media just to see what people were saying and the fact that people were kind of upset at the amount of power that LeBron James has that rich Paul has that that kind of puts things in perspective for me as far as the view that people are seeing this from and Antonio you know man nepotism is rampant throughout the NBA you know I mean let’s just keep it real I mean giannis’s brother is playing in Milwaukee JR Smith Brother once played with the Knicks and the coaching is and look they’re good co like Michael Malone is a great coach but his dad coached in the NBA that was his path you know David Adam Steve right Steve son his son Nick is the coach of their G League team like this is how it goes this is how it goes when go to a a family business you know what they do in family business they hire their family so why are people acting like LeBron James is the only one to do I can’t believe that they are doing this oh my gosh it happen every day H have you have you seen enough of Brony to give an idea of when you think he might or if he ever might become like a you know rotation player maybe a starter and what kind of player think he could grow into my my thing is I don’t think any of us are knowledged enough to say right now what bronny will become because there are so many guys that were slept on and were talked bad about and end up becoming something special like the thing is when you go to the combine and you do the cone test and the bench breast test and the vertical test and all these different kind of a j they can measure a lot and they test a lot but there are certain things that are within guys that you can’t measure and we don’t know that from the outside looking in we have no idea I have no idea what kind of player bronnie is going to be I see people talking about oh my gosh I can’t believe this dude averaged five points per game and he went 55th in the draft well didn’t the first pick of a draft average like nine points a game right what are we what are we talking about what are we talking about the guy that Atlanta drafted I I can’t pronounce his name Zachary ret yeah re re yeah but what the average nine 10 points a game so I mean the thing is but the thing is we don’t know what guys are going to become because we don’t understand the no guys work ethic in the motor that they have let me head to head brownie actually outscored him where was that at Rob G when they played two years ago uh yeah Bri let me ask you this quickly um and well go ahead go ahead you can go ahead Sean you had let ask you this because you won you won a World Championship because you were a better fit in San Antonio than you were in Vancouver who drafted you shout out to the Vancouver Grizzlies back in the day by the way how does Bron’s fit match up with the Lakers current roster he does it right now he does that I mean that that’s being honest now I think what bronnie will do he’ll be on the roster and he’ll be a part of their g-league team like Rich Paul’s saying I don’t want Brony to sign a two-way contract what Rich Paul did not say he didn’t say that Brony couldn’t play in the G League he just said I don’t want him signing the two-way deal you know so bronnie can still in essence go down and play in the G League which I’m sure he will because the thing that rich Paul or Lebron James that they don’t want to do they don’t want to stun his growth and a part of growing is taking that same route going to the G League getting some reps but the g-league season starts after the NBA season does so when the season does start bronnie will on that LA Lakers roster but I’m not expecting bronny to be a rotation guy I’m not expecting bronny to be a guy that’s out there 10 to 15 minutes I’m not expecting him to get any playing time unless it’s a blowout Antonio uh in and in about two minutes your answer what’ you make I mean three the top two players were from France the three of the top six were from France obviously a lot of international players taking not a lot of like college players at least at the top of the draft even a you know you had some g-league guys what did you make of that and what do you make of it going forward um I mean we’ve kind of seen it coming but what are your thoughts on it for sure well obviously the game has become International you know you look at the past what five or six MVPs right you know none of them are are American Born um I tell you what I find interesting though what I find so incredibly interesting is how fouryear guys and even three guys are looked at in the NBA draft like that really really attractive 50y old lady in the club it’s like oh my gosh you know what like you really look good but you’re here for a reason so something has to be wrong with you but if a guy is 22 years old like if I told you now that Anthony Edwards was a finished product wouldn’t you tell me I’m crazy yeah yes yes right so why do we think that guys when they come out of college at 22 years old or finished product well I I would say this I I I do think that a lot of these guys and you you can just look at the Knicks with the Villanova guys that stayed three and four years like a lot of times those guys come in more ready to contribute more mature even if they’re not as talented right but I I do think I I do think and I want your thoughts on this before you go I think Antonio the the reason people look negatively at a guy like kette right who went 17 I think a great pick for the Lakers but I think and and don’t I do think it’s a little fair you have to balance it but to say okay he’s 23 playing against younger players the guys his age that are really good are in the NBA already so he is playing against a a lesser you know competition I think that’s fair I think it has to be balanced but I do think there’s some fairness there I you know for me I just don’t I don’t they’re capping guys out right when you look at guys that I look at a Jose Alvarado I look at a um a Naji Marshall I look at a Trey Murphy I look at a Desmond Bane all these guys Kyle kosma all these guys came in rotation ready you know what I mean and it’s because they went to school for three or four years like I I don’t I I struggle with that I struggle with that because a lot of times guys are being drafted like Sean you said I was a better fit in San Antonio than I was in Vancouver what I would say is I felt like van an San Antonio believed in me more than Vancouver did right you know it’s like Vancouver almost had a a microwave thought process even though it was their third year in existence San Antonio was like okay we’re going to sit back we’re going to let this simmer and let’s see what you can become here you know and I feel like a lot of times these guys that they’re drafting at 18 and 19 years old that are one to two years removed from prom are not ready to be the face of an organization well that’s that’s certainly the truth uh that’s our man Antonio Danel great stuff as always brother thank you for sure appreciate you guys yep

Lebron is like a roman emperor
Great family story, maybe even emotional, given what the kid has endured physically. But this is not unprecedented in sports. Ken Griffey Sr. played with his son. That said, with this move, Lebron is either apathetic or indifferent to this whole story has generated. What is clear, for better or worse, Lebron is the most polarizing basketball player of all time, meaning… either you love him or you hate him. No other player has created that kind of divide with the things he's done or said. It will make for great TV and maybe a Lifetime/BET movie.
The Hypocrisy is amazing
No one is so called hating stop the Bronsexual vocabulary. Bronny sucks Credit to his daddy getting him drafted. Blame the lakers for letting Bron run the organization
Jeanie Buss got the job, because of nepotism. Silence. J.J. Reddick calls black woman a ni****. Silence. Kirt and Linda Rambis in charge of bball operation.(favoritism). Silence. I guess Lebron getting his son a job is the straw that broke the camels back for y’all.
The fact that people are ok with this. Tells you the world we live in.
Why this Shaun dude so close to the camera?
Why he look like his shirt collar is yoking him up?
Why is his camera so trash?
🤔
I would of did the same for my SON. Its a lot of deadbeat fathers in the comment section
Antonio always sounds like he's on 100. I bet he out of breath from exhausting himself after these segments.
Relax bro.
'enjoy it' how??? Bronny doesnt DESERVE to be in the NBA! This is pure nepotism.
Neeepppooo. Neeeppppooo
Theres nothin to enjoy about bronny being drafted no one is hating he just not a NBA ready player
Seeing yall hate so hard is hilarious 🤣 Happy for everyone involved. Bron did what any dad would do if they had that power. Hope Bronny can prove he can play on this level.
sigh ''stop hating". stop gaslighting lmao. kid is 6 foot 1, has a heart condition and he sucks. anyone with a brain should be offended by this pick
I'm not a Laker or Bron fan. So it don't matter to me that the Lakers wasted a roster spot. I think it's funny honestly. Lakers are a clown show now days
People hate it because its forced
Bron been more worried about playing with his son then winning a 5th chip
also the last father-son duo to play.
wanna play with your son? play at home.
The bron movie gone hit different when his son gets drafted at the end
Man the media is really scared to be honest. What a disgrace
I love to see black nepotism!
🤣🤣 the haters is cracking me up man just appreciate witnessing history everywhere Lebron has went he’s won im pretty sure he still wants to win yall just hate the man it’s funny doe because if this was anybody else yall would be praising it i guarantee yall would yall so dumb and lost I keep hearing the franchise is ruined how who thinks the lakers was going to win a title anyway 🤣🤣🤣 yall don’t have a clue about anything yall be LOUD AND WRONG
In my opinion, it hasn’t happened yet. When you “buy” a roster spot for your son, it kinda doesn’t count Lol.
The family business logic being used by the Lebron d-riders is so lazy and doesn't fit. Unless you own or run (on paper) a franchise it's not a family business. If Lebron owned a franchise or was president of basketball operations and wanted to hire his sons or daughter to be brought in to be groomed to eventually take his place or to become a career executive no problem. Playing pro sports is not a family business. It's a nice story but it's tainted because how many freshman who averaged 5ppg and shot around 40% from the field are getting drafted at all? I think the young man should have gone back to SC balled out if he could, then see what happens in 2025. This let's you know it's more about Sr than Jr.
19 year old kid, barely any college experience, was one of the worst players on a crappy team and legitimate health issues and he got drafted over a player who made all-conference.
Lakers needed the black jokic DJ Burns 🤦🏾♂️
If his name was bronny smith he wouldn't be saying that..he'd be asking how a dude that averaged 5ppg made a roster
LeFan-boyz 😂😂🤣😭💀
This means the drafting process is very biased and flawed.
How can playin with your son Inhance your legacy ? That’s got to be the dumbest ish i ever heard it’s some greats who didn’t have sons they had all daughters or all daughters until they retired
Sick of the media telling us how to feel as fans. This is a weak move straight up.
Sneakers help MJs goat argument so why can’t Bronny help Brons? 😂
Nepo baby Bronny. The make a wish kid. Disgusting.
Lotta Envy in this comment section. Read em and Weap!!!! Keep laughing allllllll the way to the bank Goat James!!!! Congratulations Bronny!!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Rob's absence is making a lot of sense now 🤦🏿♂️
The big deal with the Bronny draft isn't because he's Lebron's son. It's because Lebron is doing this in spite of what's best for the team… He's destroying the Lakers
Where is Rob Parker when we need him the most?
Hopefully Bronny can establish himself in the league and carve out a decent career for himself, whether that's with the Lakers or another team(s), but the beginning of his story will always be remembered as cast under the cloud of nepotism.
Will this affect how other Lakers feel about him? What will the respect level be that he gets from opposing players? Fans? Will the treatment Bronny gets change once LeBron retires? Will that make it easier or harder for him? How much do people respect Trump's kids or seek them out for opportunities based on their own abilities and qualifications? The privilege and perks of nepotism surely are great, but respect never seems to be engendered at the level it would be if the same thing was achieved on merit alone. Maybe that doesn't matter if you get to make tens of millions of dollars and live your dream.
Yes,it’s historic, but that’s it! Bron forced Bronny into an elite club! It’s embarrassing, but wyte folks been doing this for years too!
I bet if steph curry's son grew up and was trash in college and his father brought him into the nba it would be a whole different story he only got in because he light-skinned sometimes black people need to stop.
One season later. Bronny commits suicide because his daddy yelled at him on the courts on live television.
Why should we celebrate someone getting drafted by the lakers that isn't even good enough to play college basketball. All these players need to stop licking lebrons nuts.
Heard ant got a clutch sports butt plug
Part time Christian Chris "Hypocrite" Broussard have sold his soul to Klutch.
Color analyst? Is that racist? 😂
They have successfully gotten people to forget the steriod accusations
It's so many that didn't "earn" the spot but got it. Its literally bums all over the league. You mfs so mad its hilarious 😂😂😂
The programming is blatant!!!
I've seen some blatant nepotism before. This is right up there.
