Golf Cart Etiquette
[Music] [Applause] [Music] hello and welcome to today’s segment of golf edicate 101 videos and my name is Paul Gomez today’s topic is golf cart etiquette so let’s just assume you’ve never been on a golf course and you need someone to demonstrate proper golf cart etiquette generally speaking rule number one is we would like for your golf cart to remain off of the Fairway for as long as possible Every Morning by 6:00 a.m. we post on our website what today’s cart path rule is and if we are allowing carts on the path today it’ll say 90° Rule and what that means is that you can drive down the cart path parallel to where your golf ball is is take a right angle turn to your golf ball hit your shot and then decide whether you need to come back to the path or go across the hole towards your next shot maybe you didn’t do so well in Geometry let me [Music] demonstrate if however today we don’t allow carts on the path it will say cart path only and that means just exactly what it sounds like it means all four wheels on the cart path all day long I don’t know about where you live but in Bell Vista when it rains the rough also gets wet not just the Fairway so please all four wheels on the path all day long if you have a handicap flag those are not allowed on cart path only days when you are on the Fairway please keep your cart at least 50 ft from the green and if you have a handicap flag we’d like you no closer than 30 ft from the green these practices help us protect the grass on the places where most of us will miss the greens that is to say short of the green no one likes to hit off of a thin lie that’s been trampled by cough carts all day long and finally when you do reach the green we would again ask that you try to keep all four wheels on the cart path we would much rather you stay on the path and have the other cart in your forom drive around you on the grass temporarily while they also park on the path this helps us keep that grass alive around our greens and our tea boxes help us avoid this remember good golf etiquette makes for a great golf experience
