LIV Golf’s Sergio Garcia fumes at Open qualifying chiefs after he’s slapped with warning
Sergio Garcia was left Furious after being given a warning in qualifying for the open Sergio Garcia launched into a furious tirade at R and A officials after losing his cool during qualifying for the open the Spaniard has been forced to take part in the qualifying tournament after losing his open exemption due to his links with Liv golf Garcia the Marquee name in the field was being followed by a healthy crowd which left F him frustrated while making his way down the fair he was not happy with the organized open of the fans and snapped at R and A officials telling them it needs to be organized better course Marshals were seen waving the crowd through on the left hand side of the eighth hole with Garcia immedately to wait on the tea bikes he ended up pulling his shot left into trouble and was visibly agitated as he trudged down the Fairway to find his ball the 44-year-old was eventually given warning for slow play but was adamant that the fans were to blame for delaying his shots the warning appeared to push Garcia over the edge as he sarcastically quit you’re right we’re always wrong Garcia was taking part in open qualifying for the second year in a row having competed at the same wh Avenue 12 months earlier he failed to make the cut on that occasion falling short after 36 hes to miss out on one of the coted spots at Roy Liverpool speaking after his disappointment a year ago Garcia heaped Praise on the fans who lined the course to support him saying I’m sure that a lot of the people who were following me today would have loved to have seen me at at Hoy Lake but hopefully I’ll be back soon I’ve always felt very blessed about the love I get but here in the UK even more to see the kind of crowds we had for a British Open qualifier it was pretty impressive I they enjoyed it but I would you have loved to give a couple more things to cheer for G played it in 24 sucessive opens before failing into qu of last year’s tournament a run string back to 1998 he will be D just to put things rice this time around with the four additional spots up for grabs in West ler Scotty Sheffer is the ear favorite to win the open having dominated in 2024 with six PGA Tour wins from 10 attempts raloy will also be hoping to give a good good account of himself following his spectacular choke on the final day of the US Open
