[Music] This is my friend Roman Gottschalk, I’ve known him for 14 days Welcome to the European Open 2024 Pro-Am Please welcome – from Germany: Nicolai von Dellingshausen [Applause] Golf with Gottschalk✌️ Golf with Gottschalk! Nice! Now please welcome the amateurs: Roman Gottschalk and Mike Krüger! Are you on the Challenge Tour most of the time? or on the Pro Tour? …DP World Tour? Nice! I have a so-called Q-School category. Very cool! I played full-time on the tour for two years. Lost my card last year. I regained a category in Q-School. Great! and now I’m trying to get into more tournaments in Europe again because it was difficult to get into all the fields this year. Yes… it was relatively complicated. On the one hand, that has to do with the schedule because we have breaks between the tournaments. People in higher categories, they just play through because it makes sense to play for 3 weeks, 2 weeks off, play for 3 weeks… Yes, yes, great to have a schedule like that, yes… Exactly. That means I’ve already played some challenges in between. Okay. That means now I’m slowly getting back in Europe. Very nice, cool! Yes, Hans came up to me on the driving range, I was warming up I thought, why is he looking all the time? but he is a European Tour caddy and he was hoping that he would get a job from a professional but he didn’t get anything and then he came to me and said: Do you need a caddy? And I thought, before I carry my bag and my shoulders hurt he can carry the clubs and it helps in any case, because of the speed I can protect my body a littlebit 😁😁😁 Yes, good guy… He definitely helps me with putts but no ball went in It’ll still get around a bit… it’s playable Yes Mike, very good! Very nice Ah… The shot was good too Ah… You need to close your stand more today you position is very open Okay okay And since you have such a strong spin to the left today anyway, this is a help but you won’t get that corrected today So, my foot position is too far out? Yes, you’re playing too openly. Yes, okay! It’s good that you said that. Then of course you tear a lot more and the ball lands in the water… Where is Mike? Nice Mike! Smooth and relaxed… Exactly, yes! Did you notice you go into into back position while swinging? Yes, I know, it’s a habit but yes… Try to put more weight on your left leg Exactly, I know that. In my head, I know what I’m doing wrong but there’s kind of a habit that always brings me back into this back position and not like this…swing and down onto the ball I don’t know, that’s in my head That’s called a "Yips" …I don’t know right now… I have a yips. Yips are here… in the hand Yes exactly… and I have the yips in my leg… no idea 😁 Okay from today: I have leg yips leg yips😁 Not warmed-up yet unfortunately but… . We still have a lot of golf left. There’s still hope that we’ll get better [Music] Finally! Yes thank you! I always talk to you in English I don’t know, I always have the feeling that you’re American [Music] Yes! Do you see? Just past the line. Very good! Yes, it’s good. You have to clean the club and then it works again😁 Yes! Very good! Go! It’s not getting better, unfortunately, but I’m still holding on Fight through😁 Ah… Oh yeah but we can take his birdie, right? Yes, yes exactly… I can still get it in. Now it’s good to have a caddy when you go from bunker to bunker😁 Nice birdie! My God… Yes yes… [Music] Wednesday to Saturday, let’s win the Saturday and that’s what happened… So you can say: I bought one just like that on Monday 😁😁 [ Music] 130… [Music] Fly, fly, fly! Ah no! Go, go, go. Fly! [Music] We can also take Nicolai’s. We don’t need any more? Maybe we need a doctor… 😁😁 [Music] the left tree is 165… the right tree is 300 So on the right edge of the Ferris wheel… Actually in the middle Middle… Right bunker of the three [Music] I saw how you keep your hip-position stable I will focus on that in the future and I’m trying to use that now! I had a golf lesson in San Diego and it totally messed me up. Sometimes it’s like that, when you change something and it might be something that takes you longer to adjust, it might just not be the right thing for you and then you first have difficulties It’s like that in every level I also changed the trainer once – it didn’t work at all after 3-4 months I stopped the experiment again Sometimes you’re thinking: Wow, that’s him greatest sport in the world and then there are phases where you think to yourself: what a crap…why am I actually doing this? 79… You have 10 meters run-off zone if you’re shorter Oh no😬 Ah no!! What was that? Ah shit… No, unfortunately that wasn’t the first… Roman, you’re too fast for the rain Come here! I want to get rid of the frustration. You didn’t put the club on at all, right? You probably still had 2 cm above the sod and then you hit. Do you always do it like that? with the driver… you don’t put on the club you just have … the club head I just noticed that then I think: He can only top it [music] Very, very good! Thanks! [Music] Out? Yes! [Music] Nah… Nice! Golf with Gottschalk here The Pro-Am is over I don’t think we broke any records but it was a really cool experience playing with Nicolai von Dellingshausen and I had a caddy, which was also a really cool experience. Hans, thank you for the great work. He could only help me in that way… …well he couldn’t save me but it was still great fun because of my swing… and yes, a good caddy always deserves something good! Yes, thank you! Yes, I had fun too because I went with an amateur again. That’s something completely different. My professional book is of course only designed for white tees and not yours. That’s why we lasered. That was really cool… But we managed it and it was once again an experience! And I won’t forget this day! Thanks! You’re really a good guy and it was great fun! Yes, can you take a quick look at this book? Show me… We went through it. He analyzed the whole golf course… Yes, let’s take the 18 because we’re there and you can see the whole numbers there can you explain that? So the tee shot is here, we don’t need it for the book and when the tee shot is done let’s say here at that point it was 165 yards and the remaining distance to the start of the green is still 345… So that means there are fewer and fewer black numbers here and then this point is zero. I don’t know if you’ve seen it at the edge of the green there is a tee and from there you have to measure from there and then there’s a pin position every day a different one that changes every day of the tournament. We had this pin position today, it was here I didn’t draw it here and yes, it’s an aggressive hole and very appealing to the public because the nice thing here is when you play towards the Ferris wheel, you have this natural grandstand everywhere in the form of this dune where on Sunday – hopefully with better weather – yes, 4000-5000 spectators can easily sit there! Yes! It was really great! Yes, it’s a cool experience to take part in something. I’ve had caddies before, but not a professional caddy like that with a sheet like that and a pin sheet like that… It was really cool! Thanks, Hans! So I can’t come to the Open with you this year, I’m already booked. I already have a booking It’s really cool! He was at the Open 8 times …at the Senior Open Super cool! Yes, nice! Thanks Hans! Par with birdie…finally something! Yes, handicap 1
