Rory McIlroy had a heartbreaking putt on Sunday at the U.S. Open.

what was your emotional response to the Miss I could see it all day on 18 it was like like horrendously difficult P I know it was only 4 feet but the the you know the quality greens at that era you know they’re burnt out they’re dry people have been walking there it’s down the like he was aiming four in left at a hole or so so yeah it was you know the 18 was just a horribly tough put right 16 he he put it so well all day I think that was a shock to the field like anybody watching would was not expecting was sure but then you saw the Shambo had about a foot putting the maybe 18 Ines it like it was like he grinded over so like the greens are obviously treacherous looking at those greens I just tell you what like it would have be there would have been me standing over hoping somebody would come in and say it’s good you would you know You’ be looking I go you be You’ be rattling your coins hoping that somebody would say yeah go ahead that’s good

  1. The putts don’t matter. Every golfer has missed those putts. Him running away . He disrespected the entire US Open and Pinehurst.

  2. Padraig has been nothing but class his entire career and I think this take is spot on… just because it is a 4 footer doesn't mean it is an easy putt even for a pro! If Rory missed that long and left it would have rolled off the green and people don't realize that..

  3. Very tuff putt and biggest in history of golf.
Rory thought that a two putt would put him in a play off.
Bryson made the putt and World up and down in The history of golf ever.
    Padre made a great point.
Rory will bounce back. A lot going on in his life. Get back to golf and golf and family only… Rory will be back!
Let the golf world business up to the older big boys.
Just play golf and make your own brand.
Head lines in future – ' come back kid hits home run for the win!'

  4. To add to Paddy’s point…. Anyone who does play golf and plays it with integrity a 3 1/2 foot putt for par or better isn’t a “gimme” usually will be the difference in breaking 80-90-100… being a weekend golfer so to speak I usually need a dry towel because I sweat over those types of putts and the stats are that most of us do as well and it’s normal to be nervous when putting them…that said and back to his point, a 4 footer for a Major and it being the US Open and next to the last group and knowing what the score/situation is, made Rory’s putt was tremendously difficult or like Mr. Harrington said “TREACHEROUS”….

  5. Hilarious! I figured those short putts were just awful. TV doesn’t let us know what those incredible guys are really dealing with. My guess us average guys would shoot 140 on Sunday.
