good morning dog Nation I am Brandon Adams and this is dog Nation daily the daily podcast for Georgia Bulldogs fans we presented today by Mary weather and th by the way had a really good exchange yesterday with our buddy Bob thp we’ll tell you more about that here coming up in just a little bit also important guest for us today uh Terrence Edwards who obviously very very close to the guy who sort of turned out to be the main character on dog Nation this week CJ Wy we’ll get terence’s perspective on how the commitment announcement played out this week teren was of course there you probably saw him on our dog Nation video channel so that comes up today and by the way Georgia also got itself a commit yesterday so that’s a big deal we’re going to kind of tie all this together here in just a little bit also a couple of other things in today’s show there too first of all one of the games that Georgia will play here in 2024 that’s to view as one of the bigger games on the schedule a little bit of a different perspective on that game today we’ll give you that and as you might imagine when it comes to one of the most predictive stats for who can win a National Championship Georgia ranks very very high we’ll give you some extra context on that today here too so we’re very busy a lot going on glad to have you with us for it it is dog Nation daily the daily podcast for Georgia Bulldogs fans presented today by Maryweather and Tharp and it begins right now today’s episode of dog Nation daily is brought to you by Maryweather and Tharp your source for Georgia divorce find them online at Georg divorce team.com presented by dog.com this is dognation daily the daily podcast for Georgia Bulldogs fans here’s your host Brandon Adams I think by now you have gotten very comfortable with the pace at which Georgia recruiting is moving here this summer it is a rapid one and that continued yesterday as the fourstar wide receiver Tyler J Williams we’re going to call him committed to ug now here’s what we’re going to do for the next couple of minutes I want to talk about Williams as a player individually but I also want to make this part of a larger story that sort of also ties back to what we saw play out a little earlier this week really important context for some of this and we’re going to lean on our good friend Jeff sentel who by the way will join us tomorrow to give you even more information on all this kind of lean on Jeff here for a minute to get this done first of all as I’ve joked before you know I hope to do this show until I’m like 80 something years old God willing if I live that long if the Lord gives me that length of span of life you know my plan is to sort of always work because I enjoy what I do I sort of worry though about my ability to kind of really conjure up names and details and things like that as I get to that advanced age given the fact that here I am now very spry very young uh and yet still sometimes the names can be a little tough I especially get confused when guys have the same names as other guys and George A couple of years ago signed a receiver named Tyler Williams and now they’re at least getting a commitment from and expecting to sign another receiver named Tyler Williams that is for me incredibly confusing I’m guessing for some of you it’s probably a little bit of an issue there as well so Williams the latest version out of the goodness of his heart is also kind of giving himself a little special moniker here to make sure that we all can kind of keep him straight from previous players who perhaps have had his same name so we’re g to call him Tyler J Williams which I think sort of sounds kind of good anyway makes him sound like a you know high-powered lawyer or something like that so Tyler J Williams as we’re going to refer to him here now I I have learned a little bit more about uh Tyler J Williams over the course of the last you know 24 48 Hours once it kind of became known that he was getting ready to make his commitment announcement I probably D you know Dove a little deeper dived a little deeper whatever the the proper verb tense says is I probably examined him a little bit more closely than I was uh kind of doing so beforehand and what I’ve discovered is is there is something about Williams that I really like a lot Jeff SEL wrote about this yesterday dog nation.com so one of the reasons why I think the Tyler J Williams although he’s not as highly ranked as other receivers that we’ve talked about you know probably not viewed in that same category of player at that position here right now if you’re looking for reasons why he could be a really good player at ug let me give you one stat that kind of jumped off for me and I’ll uh read it to you straight from Jeff centel at dognation docomo that Jeff wrote yesterday he says that there’s a distinguishing tra to pay attention to when it comes to Tyler J Williams it’s his big play ability the 6′ one and a half 198 pound Rising senior from Armwood High School in the Tampa metro area caught 26 passes last season now listen to this this matters to me Jeff says of those 26 passes he turned 15 of those receptions into touchdowns by showing a knack for the End Zone he averaged 22 half yards per catch to pile up 585 receiving yards Williams also added five more scores in the return game so this is a guy last year playing at a high level in the State of Florida in the Tampa area had 19 total touchdowns and more than half of his catches overall ended up going four scores now to me this is one of the most important things you can kind of look at and I say this is someone who watches High School football closely there are often times in which the elite Prospect the guy who has the chance to be the big time player at the college level is a little bit more of a sort of a project type player at the high school level not polished enough to put up big stats not every Elite player has an elite stat line it just just doesn’t always work out that way but for a guy like Williams who’s trying to prove that maybe he’s a recruit that should be kind of climbing and Rising the recruiting rankings the fact that he’s putting up pretty big stats I I think sort of tells you something pretty good about what he as a player has a chance to be and this is kind of a mentality that has long existed when it comes to evaluating college players going to the NFL draft there’s always been this adage that if you’re going to draft a wide receiver that guy better have caught touchdowns at the college level because if you’re not catching touchdown passes as a college wide receiver the old thinking in the NFL used to be you’re just not going to translate to the NFL game and if we take that old adage at its word and at face value then there’s probably a little bit of a coral there when it comes to college from high school and in the case of Williams he’s producing he’s catching touchdowns he’s making big plays in special teams that gives him a chance to I would say have a better likelihood of succeeding at the college level because of the kinds of plays that he was making as a junior in high school obviously with a big senior year to come I find that to be pretty interesting but then beyond that speaking of Jeff centel the fact that George is taking Tyler J Williams commit fresh off a admittedly surprising decision by CJ Wy at least for now to uh select Florida State the other day all of this frenzy around the receiver position the recent commitment of Talon Taylor the the the Black Shear commit you know going back a few weeks prior to that all of this energy right now around the wide receiver position comes because of a really important reason that when you look at one of the most important storylines for Georgia in this 2025 class and one of the reasons why as Kirby’s kind of talked about in Clips we’ve played before why there’s such an emphasis right now perhaps on high school football recruiting of wide receivers after a couple of years in which Georgia was kind of content to go to the transfer portal it’s because of the movement that could happen from this roster at the conclusion of the season so Williams a lot to like about him staying focused on trying to you know flip CJ Wy and you know things like that these are all really really important Georgia football recruiting storylines Because of something that Jeff cintel our dog Nation recruiting Insider explained last night on his program before the hedges presented by Kroger let me give you some additional context on why we’re watching the wide receiver position so closely here right now this is an important year for Georgia at the receiver position I’m sure they’ll get two very quality veteran Playmakers at wide receiver likely through the portal but these facts I guess are indisputable number one Georgia is going to lose at least five likely to lose at least five or six receivers after this season you can go down the list that’s Dylan Bell that’s Kobe young that’s Dominic LoveIt that’s Rah Thomas that’s uh Aryan Smith um you know kind of keeps going there that there’s a chance for Georgia Michael Jackson throw him in there as well that’s six receivers that Georgia could lose and you have a perfect storm right now with reputation with the offense with Bobo and Beck you’ve got the winning culture you’ve got job opportunity to say the least but then the other thing you have there is you have um a really kind of a Zenith kind of a plateau year for wide receivers in the state of Georgia there’s a lot of stuff there that says this is the Year this is the moment this is the time for Georgia to get those Elite receivers so that’s Jeff centel explaining this at the receiver position because of what you have the strong likelihood of losing off this Rost for the 2024 season that must be replaced for 2025 and that’s why you’re seeing so much energy around this position for Georgia right now already striking big with Black Shear and Taylor uh you know making a big effort towards guys like Travis Smith and CJ Wy and now accepting the commitment of Tyler J Williams I would also add I would say there’s at least a chance based on just the kind of chatter that you’re noticing and hearing right now that Georgia maybe in the immediate future might not yet be done when it comes to adding receiver recruits there as well that’s where paying attention to that our discussion about Georgia adding receivers this 2025 class maybe that’s a conversation we will be also continuing in the very near future too just kind of put a pin in that and keep that in mind as we move into upcoming days but let me also add this on this particular topic for right now around the idea of receivers important you’ve got these guys you got to replace for 2025 you want to be able to to win in your state with all of that it’s important to note as we said yesterday that while Georgia took an L uh earlier this week when it comes to CJ Wy who did commit to Florida State instead of ug as we also know based on we heard from Wy uh you know on the announcement on Tuesday and we played for you in the show on Wednesday that he’s still going to listen to overtures from Georgia that his recruitment does remain open and Georgia this is one of those things under Kirby Smart’s leadership that ug just knows how to do they do this well they maintain relationships they maintain that line of communication and they remain a present and consistent Factor even after the public decision doesn’t often go their way that was true last year for a player at a different position in KJ Balden and it could be true for CJ Wally again when it comes to this 2025 class there as well in fact for some context you know our buddy Connor Riley also wrote about this at dognation docomo but we’ve mentioned this many times in the past you know what Kirby SM said back in December as an explanation for after the high-profile announcement and the big deal about baling going to Florida State and the alleged nil payment that made all of that possible the fact that Georgia just never stopped being Georgia and doing what Georgia does when it comes to relating to these Elite recruits this was very good for Kirby smart as it related to balen back in December but it’s also perhaps relevant for the ongoing pursuit of CJ Wy right now even though Wy is technically committed to Florida State this is Kirby Smart on this topic um as far as K’s recruitment I never I don’t I don’t I don’t see kids as committed to other places cuz me they’re not they’re not signed there’s no like we we we recruit the football players we evaluate every player the same whether they’re committed or not and um if there’s interest from them and there’s conversation from them and there’s uh visits or they come to your campus then you just be very consistent and we’re very assistant with KJ the the recruitment never stopped uh I told him that from the day he committed to the day that he came to us we’re not going to stop recruiting Because we think he’s a great kid from a great family and a really really good football player so he had Ellis have a chance to make us much better so obviously the context here is unmissable that Georgia never stopped recruiting KJ Balden because in Kirby Smart’s eyes there’s no such thing as committed anyway uh that they’re going to keep going after who they’re going after they keep recruiting their own players who were committed they’re going to keep recruiting players who were committed elsewhere and often times that persistent and consistent message will give you a chance to be a big winner that was true for KJ Balton last year that may still prove to be true for CJ Wy here this year but whether that happens or not Georgia is going to remain uh very aggressive in seeking out wide receiver talent because when you look at what you’re likely to lose off this year’s roster for 2025 big hold there at the wide receiver position Georgia wants to fill that from within the high school ranks thus far like Tyler J Williams yesterday it seems like that’s proving to be pretty successful with a couple of other big names who could join up before it’s all said and done my name’s Brandon Adams and this is dog Nation daily the daily podcast for Georgia Bulldogs fans presented today by Mary weather and th glad to have you with us video Radio podcast however you join us and just a big thanks to our friends at Merryweather and Tharp who make it all possible I’ll tell you a quick story so I guess this was yesterday the days all kind of run together when uh we were talking the other day about the great commit of Isaiah Gibson the festar edgey this wasn’t yesterday uh Isaiah Gibson from Warner Robbins to Georgia I gave a shout out to our buddy Bob th because Bob obviously the uh the sort of Chief managing partner there for Mary weatherin th but also a former demon wide receiver there for the Warner Robins football program loves his Alum monor as you would expect he would War Robbins a terrific power in the state of Georgia and so I gave a shout out to Bob when Isaiah Gibson committed because I knew they’d be happy about that and sure enough I heard from Bob yesterday yeah you better believe I was thrilled about that and that’s what I love about so many of our great sponsors is the fact that they love Georgia football they love Georgians and they love football in the state of Georgia and they love having fun now it’s important to note that when you are Bob Tharp and you got Maryweather and Tharp there’s a part when the fun sort of stops and the serious work of handling people in their divorce process you know kind of takes over and he’s very serious about his work at the same time you know this is not a guy that’s you know just you know working 24 hours a day and all about divorce and things like that this is a guy that’s got a great family you know uh lovely wife terrific kids I hang out with them plenty of times and see them all over the place during Georgia football season and you know I I love the fact that they love Georgia football and they love our audience they love being a part of the things we do here around dog nation and they’re celebrating big recruiting wins I do love that and obviously I don’t love divorce no one does but I do love the fact that if you find going through a divorce our friends at Maryweather and Tharp can be the kind of strong Advocate that you uh need and they can set you up for what I believe is an important thing which is happiness in the next season of your life that is a possibility the decisions you make right now make that more possible and that’s why I think you should hire Maryweather and Tharp to handle your divorce process here now one of the things that after having worked through stuff like this thousands of times that Maryweather and Tharp has developed a little bit of insight into are the questions that people persistently ask around the topic of divorce and one of those things is related to the cost certainty how much is it going to cost me to get my divorce process finalized and that’s why Maryweather and Tharp after hearing stories over and over has kind of created a menu of options for how you can pay for your divorce process obviously some divorces are different than others if you feel like yours is relatively straightforward and relatively perhaps uncomplicated you may uh benefit from what they call kind of a DIY service and for you that could be as low as 99 bucks you may also want more of the traditional coverage the traditional representation and obviously Maryweather Tharp offers that still the same way they have for many years in the past and also in kind of in between these things like there’s a model MNT level of service which I believe is still the most popular option they’re offering right now which kind of gives you a couple of different ways to pay for this you can do kind of a flat rate price you can kind of do a Believe It or Not sort of a monthly subscription that’s ongoing while the divorce process is also ongoing so a lot of uh creativ in terms of how you can gain the cost certainty that you want as you go through the divorce process and I want you to find out more about this because frankly they explain it better than I probably can it’s the website Georgia divorce team.com Maryweather and Tharp is your source for Georgia divorce their website reflects that it’s Georgia divorce team.com you can find them online Georgia divorce team.com Maryweather and Tharp is your source for Georgia divorce all right we have a very important guest coming up in a couple of minutes it’s always Terence Edwards on Thursday but it’s especially important day for teren here today because as we mentioned one of the most important story lines for Georgia in this 2025 class is what’s happening at wide receiver one of the big twists in that plot was the CJ Wy news earlier this week what exactly happened there Terence will tell us more about that here coming up in a moment prior to that though let’s go around the dogghouse and one of my favorite things that comes out this time of year I love offseason football content I just always have and one of the things things for years that we’ve really liked a guy named Bud Elliot you’ve heard us reference him before he works for 247 Sports and kind of Amplified often times by CBS Sports their parent company and Bud does this thing called the Blue Chip ratio and it’s important to note that I think that it’s considered very conventional wisdom now that you’ve got to have a large preponderance of elite recruits former Elite recruits to win a National Championship that’s just sort of considered a given now but when Bud Elliott first started doing a blue chip ratio going back however many years in the past it was 10 years or so I guess um that when he first started doing that that was not nearly as accepted conventional wisdom as it is now but I think gets a lot of credit uh for shaping the overall football conversation I think that that he deserves some of the credit for that we’ve certainly uh kind of signal boosted his Blue Chip ratio on this show for years just about the entirety of time we’ve been on the air here and he’s been on the show before to kind of talk about that I’m a fan of this particular piece of content that comes out every year now later on in the show I’m gonna kind of look at the teams that actually meet his sort of Blue Chip ratio uh threshold for who can win a National Championship the basic theory of the Blue Chip ratio is is over the course of the previous four years you have to have signed a majority which means more than 50% of former four and five star players to have a chance win the national championship that for as long as we can kind of tabulate this data no one has won the National Championship that didn’t have have a majority of Blue Chip recruits that’s what the Blue Chip ratio name comes from that if you’re only 40 something per or down in the 30s uh that you’re just not likely to win the national championship at least that’s what history has suggested here thus far so where does Georgia Rank and kind of what are these percentages for the upcoming year I want to get to that coming up in a moment for a second though in our around the doghouse segment here I want to look at uh a team that bud mentioned specifically by name that Georgia does play later on this fall and in November this is thought to be one of the biggest Georgia games of the Season especially when it comes to what even Kirby Smart has talked a few times already about this very very tricky and challenging Road slate that’s November in VA Heming way Stadium Oxford Mississippi against old Miz and it’s really not my point here to tell you that game is any less challenging than you already think that it is but I do believe based on the words of Bud Elliot here uh doing a good job of highlighting just how interesting of a team Old Miss could be for this upcoming season and how much that could impact Georgia because the rebels represent one of the bigger games on the Georgia schedule here for this year so let me read to you what bud writes about old Miz and the Reliance That Old Miss is going to have on transfers this year and not the kind of high school recruits that make up the Blue Chip ratio Bud Sayang of Old Miss they are a fascinating case for the upcoming season they are sixth in the current national title odds after making some significant additions via the transfer portal to a team that was already playing around a top 10 level in other words kind of a top 10 program last year yet adding Big Time transfers here this year which seemingly increased their chances of making the playoff and perhaps competing for the national championship but OT goes on to write still though over this cycle in the last Old Miss has signed 47 transfer portal players and just 16 were rated as Blue Chip prospects suffice to say folding them in does not move them closer to the Blue Chip ratio Club meaning a majority of former Elite recruits uh but says that consider that winning the national title takes a lot of top-end talent the last five national champions have averaged more than six first round picks in the successive two drafts plus many more top 100 picks but Elliot goes on to write does old Miz have that level of Talent last year in the regular season the rebels had single score wins against LSU Texas A&M Auburn and Arkansas while losing by two touchdowns to Alabama and five touchdowns to Georgia can their transfers and Veteran experience make up that Gap who knows college football is at a time of great upheaval I find that to be fascinating that even a lot of Georgia fans would say man one of the tough tricky games for Georgia on this particular schedule is the road game at Old Miz but what bud Elliot’s saying there is the proponent of transfers kind of covering up for a lack of elite recruits coming out of high school that maybe Old Miss is not as legitimate of a playoff Contender as their current odds would suggest they are perhaps that’s the case but keep this in mind that if we say that old m is potentially overvalued compared to the current thinking on them there is probably also a team on the Georgia schedule that’s perhaps a little bit undervalued there as well who could that possibly be we’re going to talk about that a little bit later on the program but as we’ve also ourselves said plenty of times because the Georgia Old Miss game is late we’ll have a pretty good look at what this very very heavy transfer Laden team appears to be by the time that Georgia gets that point in the schedule have these players Blended well are they playing well together is there some adversity that a team that doesn’t perhaps know each other very well doesn’t quite kind of connect around you know is this team even as good as it was a year ago keeping in mind that Georgia handled that team you know pretty easily I think that Old Miss represents one of the more fascinating games on the Georgia schedule because if some of these transfers really pop and really land then that’s obviously that’s a very formidable challenge but if that’s not the case then uh perhaps you’re looking for another team on the Georgia schedule maybe not getting quite as much attention who could be a uh a name to know there at that time and and a game to be careful of when you get to that point and that is around the doghouse here today on dog Nation daily presented by Maryweather and th we’re going to get Terence Edwards here coming up in a moment while I have a moment though before we do that let me remind you speaking of the upcoming season the 2024 schedule of a gigantic event that’s going to take place to kick off the 2024 season there as well that’s our dog Nation Invasion tailgate uh right there in downtown Atlanta steps away from Mercedes-Benz Stadium prior to the opening game for Georgia and Clemson now I told you one of the biggest parts of our dog Nation Invasion always ends up being our dog Nation Invasion t-shirt and if you are one of the first 250 to sign up to be a part of our dog Nation Invasion tailgate to kind of kick things off against Clemson to begin the season you can secure a guarantee for one of those dog Nation Invasion t-shirts now yesterday I had a really fun meeting about this t-shirt because I would say that for a little while there for whatever reason I don’t know the T-shirt design was quite coming together the way that I wanted it to but now man it’s I think we’ve got a really great vision for this and a really fun thing that if if you’re one of those kind of like me I believe I probably have every dog Nation t-shirt we’ve ever done I you sometimes I wear them I keep them in a box you know hope one day I get a chance to sort of display them I believe I have collected every t-shirt we’ve ever done and so this is going to be one to add to the collection if you’re one that’s collected a lot of our dog Nation t-shirts you’re going to want to add this one to the collection there as well dog Nation Invasion always such a fun thing so uh it’s going to be a really cool tailgate obviously the game kicks off at noon that means we’re sort of breakfast theme with the tailgate that means sausage and bacon and muffins and pastries and all that kind of stuff also you like the Bloody Marys the mimosas as you would imagine the sort of morning themed tailgate will have plenty of that but if you also want the like the traditional beer and the wine things like that you get that there as well so please go to dog nation.com tailgate dog nation.com tailgate if you’re with us that last year on the Tennessee River you know how much fun these dog Nation invasions can be this is the first of many here for the upcoming season for us so go to dog nation.com / tailgate be among the first 250 to secure your tickets which guarantees you one of those dog Nation Invasion t-shirts and we’ll see you getting ready to go for the 2024 kickoff against the Clemson Tigers fun tailgate coming downtown Atlanta right there dognation docomomo bit of an issue here right now we have not quite gotten uh Terrence Edwards up and running and ready to go let me um make sure I didn’t miss anything from Terren here on that um uh so I think yeah maybe not so I’m not really quite so sure uh um if uh if that’s you know kind of where we are on that but uh we will do that why don’t we um why don’t we go ahead and move on and do our SEC through for now if we’re not quite sure we got Terence Edwards ready to go here uh let’s do that and then we will uh we’ll see if we can catch up with Terence after that obviously this is the day we like to have him on perhaps Terence got some stuff going on but let’s let’s move on do our SEC through and then we’ll see if we can catch up with Terren here coming up in just a little bit let’s take a look around the rest of the League this is SEC through so a little bit out of order here based on the way we typically do this uh we’ll hope to catch up with Terence Edwards here coming in a little bit by the way big thanks to our uh folks back there uh uh Jay and Cody and Jack here with us here today helping make sure all of this uh goes smoothly in a nice transition there to get ready to do this even though obviously uh we’re you know trying to figure some things out on the Fly here so good job by all of them also speaking of really fun things to announce you know yesterday we unveiled this for the very first time and I am so excited about this and the response has already been amazing we told you that we have now unveiled the dog Nation cruise for 2025 this will be our fourth dog Nation cruise and this one will be the biggest of them all you know how I feel about this little bit like a movie sequel as you kind of do things again in sort of you know consecutive years you got to keep making it bigger and bigger and bigger you’ve got to keep meeting that challenge and that is what uh we’re going to be like in 2025 April 21st to the 25th on board Utopia of the Seas now the basic itinerary obviously going to Port Canaveral easy Drive uh you know just kind of Beyond Orlando it’s the sort of I think I think it is my home Port the most convenient Port from where we live here in the Atlanta area so that is terrific but also you know going to Perfect Day Coco K I stop over in NASA on the Bahamas and by the way Royal cribbon has got some really fun things brand new unlike anything you’ve ever experienced before when it comes to the port of Nassau we’re going to tell you more about that as we get a little bit closer here but the big selling point right now when it comes to dog Nation cruise is the fact that we’re going to be on the newest Royal Caribbean cruise ship of them all the one that F in fact is getting set to debut here in just a couple of weeks that is Utopia of the Seas the newest Oasis class of ship uh obviously the demand for Utopia is incredibly high that means we have secured a special rate on some of the best state rooms on board Utopia of the Seas as a part of our allotment here for this particular cruise I also can tell you this that we are and this is not like you know hype man you know you know blo hard stuff this is real we are also very very close to a sellout on the special rate on these special State rooms you know some of the the the nicest State rooms great category great price on those State rooms so this is one of those deals where April 2025 may sound like a long way away but you’ve got to act fast to be a part of this we hope that you will uh do that there so please go to dog nation.com cr-225 for more on that it’s dog nation.com cr-225 to find find out more about that we’ve already heard from some people including our buddy third will at dog nation.com this morning who said he booked his dognation Cruise last night Jessica Slater was a great help in all of that and I know that she will be a great help for you there as well one more time the website because it’s a little bit wordy here dog nation.com cr-225 you can find out more about that there’s also a link right there at dognation dcom if you go to dognation dcom I think you’ll pretty well see a link right there that you can uh do that a lot of fun stuff going down Okay so we’re try to catch up with Terence Edwards here in just a moment let us do our uh cruise around the SEC courtesy of Royal Caribbean before we get there and so I mentioned a moment ago the Blue Chip ratio from Bud Elliot and the overall premise here that in order to win a National Championship you have got to have over the course of the last four years according to Bud’s research which he’s been doing for years a majority of former four and five-star recruits on your roster to be kind of in the club of teams that could win the national title and if you don’t have that you’re not uh going to be able to win the national title at least as history would dictate so when you look at of the upcoming season you will not be surprised to find out that Georgia is squarely in the club of teams who could do this for this year but they are not first in terms of the highest Blue Chip ratio let’s show you this on the screen here for a moment the team that has the highest Blue Chip ratio for the upcoming year is Ohio State at 90% Alabama comes in at 88% George is third at 80% now let me just say this I don’t uh when Georgia won the National Championship in 2021 2022 it had a blue chip ratio fairly within like a percentage point or two of where it is here right now so while there is a club that you have to sort of exceed 50% I think that history would say that being at 90% doesn’t increase your likelihood over being at 80% and 80% doesn’t necessarily increase your likelihood over being at 70% it doesn’t quite work that way that the higher you are the more likely you are to win the national championship it’s more of a binary thing of you either meet the threshold requirement or you don’t and if you do you have a chance and if you don’t history would suggest that you’re not there so you know Georgia is not first on this list but they are still among the highest which means their chance win the national championship obviously pretty high you expect that to be true I think you’d also probably expect Ohio State to be pretty high it’s important to know as we’ve said before when it relates to Alabama as we get closer to the season we have kind of reconsidered our feeling about Alabama for the upcoming year on this show and I would say that I’m a little bit uh higher on Alabama now than I would have been come January or February I mean the belief here is is that when a guy like Nick Sabin leaves there is still a lot left behind is this the most impressive Alabama roster we’ve seen probably not you know do do I when I look at the various position groups do I see a team that even looks like it ought to have a blue chip ratio of 88% I’d say that’s probably not the case either but there’s still clearly a lot left there uh going on on that particular roster here right now that is certainly true and uh you’ve got a coach in dor who’s been in the college football playoff before you got a quarterback in Jaylen milro who’s been there before so I do believe if you’re thinking about you know as I mentioned a couple minutes ago hey maybe some are suggesting Old Miss might not end up being quite as good as there are current odd suggest they could be perhaps there’s a chance at least in year one for kill and deor they could be better that blue chip ratio certainly suggests that’s a possibility me also mention this when you look below the sort of Ohio state Alabama Georgia the three teams are kind of always the top of this list you see Texas A&M at 79 Oregon at 76 Oklahoma at 73 Texas at 72 LSU at 70 Notre Dame at 67 Clemson at 64 Florida at 63 of this group here’s what I think is interesting and really pretty much for anybody kind of in the group that uh is sort of below Georgia what this sort of tells me go back and look at like 2019 when LSU won the National Championship nowhere near as high a blue chip ratio percentage of former Elite recruits as like a Georgia Alabama Ohio state will have now but they did have sort of a historic level quarterback and when you pay really high level quarterback play with a pretty talented roster overall there’s a chance that magic can happen that’s kind of what we’ve seen with Clemson before to when they’ve won the National Championship a couple of times under dbos Sweeney the overall Talent level from Clemson at least based on recruiting rankings for those two particular seasons was about as low as any national champion has been in the 21st century but they had the elite quarterback paired with a pretty good roster overall and once again there was the potential that magic could happen so here’s what I’m going to tell you think about tech z&m what I’m seeing from this particular number is if you get the big gear from Conor Wegman their quarterback that’s a team that could be a very formidable challeng Challenger one of the reasons why you’re seeing and hearing so much about Oregon right now is because Oregon pretty good roster overall perhaps paired with a special season from Dylan Gabriel and all of a sudden you know that is you know potentially uh a really true Bonafide National Champion I think Oklahoma is a very interesting team here if you’re watching a video you see the number if you’re listening I’ll read it to you 73% for Oklahoma here right now on the roster overall that’s the percentage of former four and festar recruits on this roster you know you think about a guy like Jackson Arnold who’s not super well known yet to a lot of kind of mainstream run-of-the-mill college football fans but as we’ve told you many times Arnold could be a guy that very much is a household name by the end of the year if that’s the case then no one is talking nearly enough about Oklahoma right now you know Texas is obviously viewed as a big time Contender think about Garrett NM when you look at LSU they’re at 70% we’ve for a couple couple of years now Garrett nire really impressed Us in the second half of the SEC Championship in 2022 that to me looks like a quarterback that can make some plays LSU’s roster already pretty strong Big Year from nus Meer now you’re talking about that team especially with the Fairly favorable schedule being that you could say the same thing about Ry lard with Notre Dame and uh whatever kubik’s going to be for Clemson you know you know Florida probably too tough of his schedule for this to really show up but a roster that’s talented enough that if you get a big year from uh Graham Merz or If eventually DJ lagway kind of supplants Ms you know maybe Florida would have a chance to surprise on the basis of where their Blue Chip ratio suggest they should be then beyond that you got Miami at 61% Penn State at 61% USC at 59% Michigan at 56 and then Auburn’s kind of floating there at 53% there as well which you know if we go back to the premise we kind of established earlier which is somebody that George’s slated to play probably won’t be as good as you think they might be maybe is Old Miss but Elliot suggests that as a possibility if that’s the case then the coin also has a flip side which maybe somebody in the Georgia schedule is also better than you expect they could be there too when you see that overall Talent level for Auburn not as high as some of the other things that were mentioning here um when when you see that there uh uh you know that overall percentage I think that would lead you to believe that a game that actually last year proved to be slightly more dangerous than you anticipated maybe that’s the case here for this upcoming season too maybe keep your eye on Auburn at least a little bit if they can figure out what they’re doing at quarterback so some interesting stuff to consider when it comes to some of the most talented teams in college football from a recruiting standpoint and how that could impact this year’s race for the national championship we will make that cruising around the SEC courtesy of Royal Caribbean now I’m guessing nothing yet from Terence Edwards is that right all right still haven’t heard anything from Terence Edwards there something May have come up there with Terrance let me kind of tap dance here for a little bit and we’ll see if we can uh figure out what that is all about I’ll give a shout out to our friends at the Finish long drink of course as you’re rolling into the weekend uh the Finish long drink a great thing to go with you there on on all of that you can enjoy all of the various long drink varities in fact we showed you earlier this week somebody who kind of secured that peach flavored version down there in Jackal Island that seems like a great pairing to me Little Peach flavored version of the finished long drink when you’re right there on the Georgia coast here in the peach state that sounds awesome I love the blue can that’s the traditional the grapefruit flavor the Gin kick uh love all of those varieties the finished long drink the cranberry the long drink strong 8 and half% alcohol by volume uh long drink zero no carbs no sugar just a lot going on as it comes to all of that um so so really really fun stuff when it comes to finished long drink great time for you to try that you can find it online the long drink.com for more on that today that is the long drink.com for more on that today all right so let us do this why don’t we get ready to kind of sign off of The Regular Show we’ll kind of do that uh the way we typically do we’ll kind of roll into a cool down start taking some of your comments and if we’re able to catch up with Terence Edwards we’ll do that there at that time does that seem okay why don’t we do that we’ll say goodbye sort of in a kind of our official way here and then we’ll roll into comments and hopefully we’ll catch up with Terence Edwards before we go off the air uh let’s go ahead and get ready to do so fun golden shoe for you here today uh obviously we’ve enjoyed you know doing these with you and we’ll get ready to show you one here right now we were live the other day reacting to the Isaiah Gibson news a little what do you call that little three box screen with Connor and myself and Jeff Cel there our buddy Sugar Ray uh gave us a nice compliment taking a screenshot of that and doing a little edit work around that saying the best in the business Jeff SEL Nation daily Connor Riley also gives you the hashtag we’re getting everybody which obviously Georgia hopes to do here for this 2025 class so really fun stuff there Sugar Ray we appreciate that always a very clever guy when it comes to a lot of these you know social media edits and things like that so we’ll give him a well-earned golden shoe on that front how about the lousy stinking Gators uh certainly nothing to celebrate when it comes to them big recruiting wins onfield wins or anything else you’re not getting much of that at all right now now it’s been 1328 days since Florida has beaten Georgia that is our Gator hater updator and uh we’ll see you back here tomorrow dog Nation daily presented by Merryweather and thar all right and on video time now for RS Andrews cooldown RS Andrew is the one you turn to for your air conditioning heating uh Plumbing and Electric needs they show up on time they do the work that’s promised the price is promised you can trust them on all of that all right so we’re going to try to catch up with Terrence perhaps he had something kind of pop up here not sure about that uh we’ll hopefully be able to do that let me also though get ready to take some of your comments while we kind of wait for that to happen uh J shop said did Terence ghost me like my A&M aspirations uh perhaps that is the case perhaps that’s the case Terence is also a busy man so he’s got a lot going on um Lance D says A&M has a 10- win schedule but they have to be Texas regardless yeah it’s going to be a big game to have that you know rivalry renewed here once again and I would say the Tex A&M at least based on what I’ve seen thus far does appear to have a little bit of a favorable schedule and you know uh you know the chance to utilize that to kind of maybe be a part of the conversation in a way that uh they have not been before you know it’s at least a possibility Foster masto is not buying that he says there’ll be a bottom feeder once again um Jay shy says that ba still keeping the A&M uh hope so it’s important to note this is a very different version of Texas A&M that would have been before the belief in A&M in the past was the fact that Jimbo Fisher was doing a pretty good job of recruiting and he was a former National Championship coach as it turns out whatever fiser was at A&M was not really a national championship level now why was that we may never know but It ultimately was just proven that Jimbo Fischer was not what his resume suggested that he was which was a national championship coach now it’s sort of the fresh start and sort of an entirely new thing that old storyline that old narrative doesn’t really doesn’t really match up very much what’s happening here right now there is some of that Talent sort of left over you know Evan Stewart at wide receiver for instance you know obviously Wegman at quarterback represents some of that so some of the recruiting work that A&M did under Jimbo fer will be to the benefit of Mike Elco here right now um but you know the sort of chatter of the Jimbo Fisher age and by the way you know I obviously kind of bought into this but remember the ANM boosters that had the plaque made of you know basically promising a national championship in some future year you know that was obviously overstated at the time but whatever A&M is this year is sort of a refresh of that storyline uh and Lancey also kind of pointing out that you know Mike Elco is sort of already proven to be a winner uh at a place like Duke where winning is not an easy thing to do and I think that’s exactly right uh let’s go to dog nation.com Shane holiday on the subject of Michael penx who obviously recently signed his contract uh with Atlanta saying he’s got a special arm and two NFL receivers not sure milro is that guy with that Talent around him yeah I would say I don’t really view milro to be the same level of prospect I probably view Michael penck to be I also of the belief that I don’t think the Falcon should have drafted penck where it did but um but I don’t think I probably think of pennick and milro as the same level of prospect by way speaking of contracts we mentioned earlier shout out to the Diamond Dogs big extension for baseball coach Wes Johnson yesterday that’s a big win for ug perhaps taking and not perhaps but in all likelihood taking Johnson’s name out of some of the coaching Carousel stuff that’s going to spin in baseball here right now Georgia getting out in front of all that which is good K Dog wondering after we beat Clemson will I do my rendition there was a video of me like dancing and singing uh uh was it Friends in Low Places what that was that what that was after Georgia beat Clemson I mean people forget that Georgia beating Clemson in 2021 was a very big deal Clemson had been in the playoff what five or six years in a row uh prior to that um I guess it would have been yeah five years in a row maybe six years five six years whatever it was they’ve been in the playoffs you know for a long streak had won a couple of national championship they came into Charlotte that day the more accomplished program than Georgia was and Georgia made a big statement by winning we were very happy so happy that I was like dancing on the sideline uh kind of embarrassing dancing in sort of an embarrassing way but uh I was very happy about that I remember I remember being very very happy about Georgia being Clemson plus it just sort of fun to have full Stadium again after the you know the horror of 2020 so yeah that was great um that was great Thomas Tbone 86 says I don’t know if this happen but I had a vision of me meeting you right after a Georgia game at the bookstore listen I hope you come by sometime this fall I would love to meet you and love to see you Thomas that’d be awesome that’d be a great thing to be able to do all right um let’s go over to Facebook here just for a moment maybe I’ll also try to text Terence myself let’s see what y y’all give me um y’all give me one second let’s see if we can catch up there on that on Facebook here for a moment to see how people are doing here um William kamano says is there another stadium in Jacksonville what they’re going to do is they’re going to renovate obviously the you know the old Gator Bowl Stadium which is called whatever it’s called now and it’s going to be a state-of-the-art facility we’ve showed you some of these images before it’s it’s going to be beautiful but it’s going to be very very different from anything that uh has obviously ever been around Jacks in the past I guess the way that I sort of kind of view this almost kind reminds me a little bit of Sofi and La maybe a little bit um uh but it’s going to be a very very different look retractable roof I believe yeah there you go that’s going to be the vibe there a little bit for some reason I’m getting uh I’m getting Sofi Stadium vibes from some of this although hopefully it’s a little nicer than that it’s also kind of kind of get the spaceship look on the outside a little bit like a legent stadium does in Las Vegas it’s a big Improvement for Jacksonville overall and something I’m pretty happy about I mean I have a little bit of a I don’t know I I like the First Coast down there I like those people um you know I’d like to see them you know have a good experience like this I’ve always thought it was a little bit sad that there was this belief that their NFL team might be taken from them um so the fact they get this Stadium get a chance to hold on to the Jaguars here I take that as kind of a cool thing and oh yeah they’re going to keep the pools there too uh which is kind of one of the cool kind of add-ons to the stadium a little bit wider concourses I mean look the Jacksonville Stadium as it is right now by NFL standards is not nice I mean it’s just not very very narrow concourses uh which make it kind of hard to get around if you’ve ever gotten stuck at in there you know what that’s all about you know it’s kind of proximity there to the river I think creates you know kind of a a nice thing I know they’re also trying to kind of upgrade that area that used to be kind of known as the uh River what do you call it the uh uh uh Landing the Jacksonville Landing trying to improve that area so maybe jackville kind of gets its moment here I do think the Khan family uh has been pretty uh devoted to the city of Jack even though shod khon owns the EPL team and kind of has his ties the UK it seems like they’ve been pretty committed to jackville overall which I think is a good thing and obviously we know that tonyc con a major figure when it comes to the other major export from Jacksonville which is uh aew wrestling so uh we’ll see how that continues to go so it should be a lot of fun uh Philip Jordan well says if we win the national title Ba’s got to dance while singing Million Dollar Baby yeah there you go there you go um Phil Rogers says has Kirby Smart said who he’s bringing to D he has not if I were to guess we’ve kind of done this before believe that Carson Beck will be one of them I believe that Tate rage will be one of them and I believe the uh defensive representative you know could be smile mondan uh you know uh you know maybe either Brinson or stack house Malachi Starks be a good name there um but I think you probably get Beck rattled one of the defensive guys you know you know a mondan uh a Brinson a stack house maybe a Starks but they’ll probably go with one of the seniors if I had to guess that’s probably what that’ll end up being just based on kind of how that stuff typically sort of goes uh Matt ravino as they’re getting ready to travel says my son’s watching all these highlights of our games on his iPad and he keeps yelling touchdown Georgia that’s awesome that’s good that’s good to know first of all uh my kids love traveling because that means they get to watch all the you know iPad stuff they want to at least while they’re traveling they love that uh unfettered access to technology and uh obviously a lot of Georgia highlights being watched with stuff like that which is really fun um Pete Williams says Elco is a good DC but a good head coach is yet to be proven I really don’t think he’ll be a good head coach well i’ would say that at least in a brief tene Duke he’s already proven to be good uh at least you know in that brief window so much so that now does he end up being the sort of you know great coach I don’t know but if I was an A&M fan and you gave me the choice of the guy they almost hired Mark stops of Kentucky or Mike Elco you know with a smaller resume for Elco I believe I probably would have um I believe I probably would have taken that I I would rather had Elco than Stoops I believe now that doesn’t mean he’s going to go on to great success and things like that uh but I believe that’s probably the case so if we don’t hear from Terren in a couple of minutes we’re are going to have to get off because we’ve got a very busy broadcast day around here so we don’t have the schedule we don’t have the studio forever um here today but um we’ll see we’ll see um let us see what else kog says he thinks that milro will be much improved more so than I realize D’Or is a quarterback guy could be the case I think it’s also look I’ll be very honest with you um I think the relationship that dbor and Milo are going to have is going to be pretty interesting now keep this in mind for a moment let’s just do like the sort of algebraic equation it certainly seemed like Alabama was okay with Julian saan leaving to go to Ohio State you know certainly seemed like they were okay with that and the reason why we would be led to believe they were okay with that is because Saiyan left shortly after Alabama brought in Austin Mack who was going to be at Washington with dor there so at least in terms of like the Mac versus Sayan comparison Mack was dore’s guy and if you get your guy you sort of don’t worry about someone who’s not your guy and apparently Julian saan was not kayin dore’s guy so Sayan I try to follow me on this because this is complicated Sayan goes to Ohio State there is Chatter and rumor at Ohio state that sayyan has been impressive enough thus far in terms of some workouts things like that that he might eventually push for playing time perhaps even a potential starting job here this year now can a team that’s getting as much as hype as Ohio State have a first year quarterback you know freshman starting a quarterback that’s perhaps a different discussion for a different day but the Ohio state folks seem very happy with saying Alabama seemed content to let him leave so that would lead you to believe that Austin Mack must be a very impressive quarterback prospect but keep this in mind if you go back to the spring the Alabama spring game you didn’t see much moac right there they sort of had him running what fourth string or something like that they very very much kept him under wraps so a quarterback that kayin dbor viewed to be good enough that they were okay with Julie and Sayan leaving a quarterback who might eventually be good enough to start at Ohio State and yet they’ve been very very content to kind of keep Mac Under Wraps here right now so my point is you could end up being right and maybe kayin uh dor really gets the best out of Jaylen milro and maybe milro has a terrific year but you’ve also got to consider the possibility that milro doesn’t even survive the season as Alabama starting quarterback that’s at least something to consider too all right couple more comments we’re ready to go uh Richard D says my two-year-old is a big georgean Braves fan my son who sits without moving to watch games uh when I have on a Braves game he yells the TV go Georgia well listen I like that uh that’s awesome to hear Richard that’s really good stuff really really good stuff uh really good stuff indeed uh let me Bounce Around the comment sections one more time we may just to wrap it up for today um Johnny boy says I would think that dor would try anything to win I think that’s probably the case I think that obviously he wants to have a successful season but managing your quarterbacks well is both important for this year and kind of the long term there on that too um Frank Patterson says when we beat bamman Texas at home next season should we or should we not tear down the goalpost no I’m a big believer the Georg is not a tear down the goalpost program I was there in 000 when they beat Tennessee and tore down the goal post and while I understand the celebration because it’s been a long time since Georgia beating Tennessee is a little bit even for a Georgia team back then that was you know not quite as accomplished I didn’t love the look of that just just to be completely honest I didn’t love the look of that um uh Mike in the comment section says the Bama game is the biggest regular season game for me personally and you know based on some of the stuff we’re talking about right now I do understand where some of that comes from I do um KC says what about STS and Bennett being left off the list of top 25 quarterbacks in college I think I saw that um I also think that some of those lists like and I’m I’m very Pro list I’m very Pro debate I like all that kind of thing some of those college football list especially the one what’s the guy is it Boomer whatever big game Boomer whatever some of that stuff is just like sheer engagement farming sh like there’s no criteria given there’s no explanation given it is just sheer engagement farming meaning you put this up there for the purpose of like cultivating likes and I’m sorry cultivating comments because remember there’s a way to get paid for uh xplatform comments now so some of that is sheer engagement farming uh I think I saw the list that didn’t have benett on there obviously I don’t agree with that um Ben it’s clearly you know much much higher than that much now where does he belong I don’t know and for the most part anything is fair when it comes to the sort of embrace debate culture of college football but some of that stuff especially like I said the Boomer dude or whatever uh a lot of that stuff when it’s just like here here’s a ranking here’s no explanation of where we got this from or what this is based on just a bunch of names and an order that’s just for the purpose of generating comments and then getting paid off those comments um all right I’m afraid y’all were getting have to go in just a minute Taylor Russell says imagine having an iPad when we were kids on road trips all the rich kids had was a VHS player uh in their van and I always felt so jealous yeah one year we went on vacation we borrowed a van from other people and it did have a TV with a VHS player in the back and I thought that was unbelievable unbelievable we just I I don’t know why we were able to do this we borrowed a like a conversion van and it was amazing I thought it was the coolest thing I’ve ever seen in my life because it was so much more room so much more relaxed uh just really very fun really very fun and we had the the TV with the VHS in the back it was really cool um yeah I mean I try to tell my kids that all the time it’s like we used to drive uh when I was a kid we went to Daytona for vacation and Daytona is a long drive kind of a longish drive and we didn’t have anything like I remember I used to like one year we had like a box of 88 Donas and that’s 36 packs and every every however often we would open a pack of cards that was kind of the way that I you know sort of kept myself entertained was you know kind of waiting for the time to sort of open a new pack of cards so we did that one summer and I’d listen to like cassette tape or something like that we didn’t have just it’s just different like I honestly think my k kids would drive across because like 2020 we drove to faille Arkansas for the game you know we’ve driven to Miami which is the long drive um we drive all the time they never complain about it at all I think they like it they’re like back there in the air conditioning it’s comfortable they got the iPad going I think I mean they drive they’ drive to Tim Buck too if we if if we could uh they love it um so yeah dog nation.com one more time uh good stuff over there of course and then back on Facebook Scotty Barn says everybody have a dog gone good day I love that Philip Jordan Wells says remember at Florida nothing is everything no doubt about that um good stuff in here Johnny Prescott says went to that Clemson game in Charlotte ba had only heard a bit about Brock Bowers at that point but he turned out to be our biggest offensive weapon that night as a freshman and that defense No Doubt performance for the defense and as I pointed out many times before it was very revealing and otherwise not great day for Georgia offensively how much they targeted Brock Bowers in that game you know it just really seems like Georgia figured out you know before the season even began what a special player Brock Bowers had a chance to be because we’ve just very rarely seen anybody in Georgia targeted as much as Bowers was then and that was his very first college game so I do believe you’re absolutely right about that all right good stuff let’s say goodbye here for right now sorry about about no terance here today don’t quite know what happened with that but uh there you go uh sometimes it’s you just sort of do for that I reckon but um uh y’all uh uh check out RS Andrews online RS andrews.com for your air conditioning heating Plumbing electric needs they show up on time they do the work that’s promised the price that’s promis you can trust them on all of that today hot weather get that air conditioning tuned up I promise you um uh they’ll help you out with all that and they’ll keep you comfortable All Summer Long which is a really good thing so please find them online RS andrews.com they’ll have a great day back here tomorrow dog Nation daily presented by Maryweather and th we look forward to talking to them

  1. While I am a huge DAWG fan and listener of the show is does pain me that the main sponsor of recent is a law firm advocating for divorce. But I guess it does relate to player's relations with colleges if the grass seems greener somewhere else.
