extra special good one this series was an epic one a memorable one let’s be real and we love hockey but there’s times where some of these Stanley Cup finals are pretty dull like remember these New Jersey Devil and duck ones in the past and you know four games to one and even last year the Panthers and and knights you know it was boring it went five games this was seven games dude it was as close as it could have been tonight with the Stanley Cup on the line that was just a great sporting event tonight it was must watch TV people who aren’t really true hockey fans were interested in this right everyone was talking about it I want to see Edmonton win because I want to see history would have been 82 years since the team came back from 3 0 uh not so I’m not really worried about Conor mcdavid’s Legacy or whatever it is uh I’m sure he’ll well I shouldn’t say sure I think he’ll win a cup at some point during his career if not multiple cups here but it was a great series it was entertaining it was fun it had drama uh McDavid setting records all over the plate yeah I thought everything would win tonight I did uh they didn’t and I all I said so much credit to Florida for the way they came out sort of put everything behind them you know losing three games looking bad at times doing that bar Broski same thing all the credit to Florida they did they hit the they really did hit the reset button and looked like it was game one again you know what I mean like they were right back to okay we’re going to play our game without being stated though Edmonton was right there like they Edmonton had a handful of chances man I thought legitimately we were sort of robbed of a potential overtime I think as hockey fans you you know we wouldn’t have been able to top that game seven Stanley Cup finals goes to overtime we got you know give credit to bosski as well he really got crit ized a lot I didn’t think he was bad on Friday to be honest even though they lost I don’t think the goals were his fault but he wasn’t the same goalie as he was earlier in the series you could tell early tonight CTS that he was dialed in he just was you can see his confidence his positioning he was seeing stuff through traffic well and as I stated earlier too Skinner played really well too Skinner kept them in the game right you know after it was 2-1 Florida could have scored a a bunch of more times after and skanner kept them in the game but as I stated scanner’s going to have a hard time sleeping for a couple of nights reliving that second goal that that went in little bit of a floater short side I think he was a little bit partially screened but in that situation it just sort of can’t happen I’m not blaming him at all right you could just start you could also argue that heyman’s got a score in that moment and then McDavid had three chances and didn’t bury them so it’s a team effort but it just to me it was like oh that that goal is the deciding goal after all that there what a way to go it’s it’s disappointing it is I mean it happened somewhat early so it wasn’t like it was a late goal here was be really a Crusher but you’re right I can guarantee he like to have it back because it was I don’t want to say soft goal but it was in that realm where uh one that you think he should have stopped it you know but he I said I don’t think he has anything to apologize for uh keep up with all the drama and just today alone um Italy or Croatia was just unbelievable drama today Italy the defending Euro Cup Champions on the verge of potentially being eliminated and having to wait and see like what happens throughout the rest of the week they score like literally on the final play of the game like they scored right after they scored the the referee blew the whistle so they got a super dramatic draw the volunteers just won their first ever college baseball World Series Championship tonight 65 Al the game wasn’t quite as close it’s 65 there was you know there was some late runs and stuff but it was you know 65 is 65 they won the game 65 Brazil were 12 to1 favorites tonight against Costa Rica scoreless draw like people are going to be unhappy in Brazil about this let me tell you and then we uh wrapped it up with the Stanley Cup uh tonight uh and oh yeah we had triple play in baseball that hasn’t happened since 19 um 1929 but it’s really not that cool I don’t really understand what’s so special about it was a line drive back to the pitcher he threw the first base and then the first baseman threw it the third base for a for Force out all right it was a triple play which is unique but the this the first uh 135 Triple Play since 1929 which I shocks me that it’s been 94 years or whatever uh since that play has happened but a lot of stuff to get to disappointed that we we were robbed of overtime I would have liked to seen you know what game seven let’s go to overtime let’s decide this the the Edmonton Oilers came ever so close to tying the hockey game numerous times but the Panthers were the better team in the third period they did like the you know the Oilers had a couple of moments and flashes but earlier in the game it felt to me like the Panthers even though the game was tied at one it was like the Panthers were hanging on for dear life and if the Oilers you know were just they couldn’t get that goal or get that lead they would have nailed it they would have pulled away I think but the Panthers did a great job of hanging in there and then boom kind of a soft golden Skinner gave up he played great but that was kind of a soft goal that he gave up there and then after that the Panthers hang on for dear life but rightful Champions I tip my cap to them epic series you know Gabe best team since January first the Florida Panthers uh great trades that bill Zito did to make them better for this run um you mentioned that Skinner goal think about it 20 seconds prior to that right kulov makes a game saving uh deflection of the puck towards the side of the corner and the Panthers come down the rink and they score that goal to go up and they don’t look back to win the cup uh the Panthers played almost ropa docki game right they they allowed the Oilers to kind of control the narrative for you know late first period second period and pretty much the entire third period and when he got to the final two three minutes of that hockey game Gabe the Oilers tired out they had no gas in in in the system and they couldn’t really get the puck deep into the lower corners of the Panthers Zone and get shots on net and even though think about this game right in the third period the patters went nearly eight minutes of no shot on net and allowed to take on the the the the pressure of the Oilers and they knew that they had the Oilers l in the back pocket for what they did did in the final five minutes of the hockey game but look for Paul Maurice who I think is a Dusty Baker of then ch right searching for that first title he finally gets that that big win and for the florid pths game they built it up right they they emulated a t of lightning for what they were three four years prior to what they are now and they deserve to be the Cup champions and hey you know what next year they are I think the top three favorites to win I think a plus 900 I think it is going to week number one of the season in early October yeah you know what though and they’re really good team one of the reasons why and I said earlier in the year I thought they were going to go to the Stanley Cup the Panthers but I abandoned ship so I can’t take credit for it I thought that it would catch up to the mo they they started to look a little tired to me at times in the regular season and you know playing in the Cup last year and that deep playoff run it’s hard to play this many hockey games they were much healthier this year than they were last year by the time they got to the finals that made a big difference for them uh this year as well but as you stated they did a great job sort of re you know tinkering with the team a bit and good call like they used to lose to Tampa all the time so they sort of copied Tampa a bit and Out Tampa tampered and if you’ll notice they got beat up last year by Vegas a bit so they realized you know what we’ve got to be you know we’ve got to be the bullied like normally we were but Vegas were bigger than we were even we’ve got to toughen up a bit and they did so as you stay a great call molding the team as they go and looking ahead next year so these are the opening numbers the Edmonton Oilers are the favorites plus 800 right now to win the Stanley Cup the Dallas Stars are the second choice at plus 900 the Carolina Hurricanes are the third choice at 900 So Co co- with the extension uh we have NBA free agency NBA draft coming up but I want to talk about nobody cares about the NBA draft or the free agency it’s like the most anti-climatic off season ever but as far as the Stanley Cup uh is concerned so Florida wins for the first time they finally uh got it done they beat the Edmonton Oilers uh tonight and you know what worried me tonight Mo coming into the game from the Edmonton Oilers perspective was the fact that everybody picked them right the the mainstream media is generally wrong and the masses are generally wrong all the time like they’ll go with the lwh hanging fruit when it was you know three nothing all they’re done right they don’t have a hope in Hell winning and now tonight you would have thought the Panthers were like you know plus three and a half goal underdogs or something oh it’s impossible the Oilers are just going to be too much and and we saw they you know the game was a complete tossup so you know the Panthers ended up winning by one goal it really could have went either way it was that good of a hockey game but I kind of was worried that everybody thought Edmonton was going to win tonight yeah you know and like up here in Canada right everyone thought M was gonna win right momentum Conor McDavid all that stuff but but Gabe you have to think about it this way right the last three games the ORS have put so much energy to keep their season alive that you get to this point of the Season where it’s a coin flip where it’s almost 5050 that as I said to before right in the third period they just ran out of gas F to miss they had no in keep the intensity level that high for that long that much in a row and you brought a great point that you brought up in hour number two with Cam and George that Leon dry settle was nowhere to be found like he he was on a milkbox card in South Florida for the last like two weeks and no one could find him he was stuck in the Everglades pretty much and and that’s the biggest thing for Leon dryel and I’ll bring up this point to you Gabe the olders you know they might have the best odds but think about it right now they have $10 million in cap space I believe have 10 ufas going into this off season dry is going to his last year of his deal along with Evan Bard so for the Oilers right now we don’t know if they’re gonna get back right because that West is loaded as George made the point in nrow number two so for this orer team now if they want to get back to that point the goty be like like Bill zela was acquire better depth to work with because I thought quite Franky gab when it mattered most Florida had the better depth to work with of their third and fourth Lance and if they’re going to get to that point again for the Oilers they got to figure out how to get better depth and also steuart Skinner is he your guy that you can trust that can win the critical game because quite frankly gab you made the best point of the night he let in the soft goal at the most crucial moment of the game and that costers a chance to maybe win their cup for the first time in 34 years I’ll agree and disagree with some things there I will say I think Skinner also made a bunch of great saves after when it was 2-1 you know what I mean he stepped up but it was a bad goal Mo that you just you know what I mean it is what it is like it’s just you know it’s it was sort of like a wide receiver dropping a you know pass in the end zone it’s like uh it’s like you know what like it sort of can’t happen you know it was more than just that game but I’ll disagree in the sense obviously listen every team needs depth and you know maybe they’re defenseman they can tweak some things but to be honest Mo Conor McDavid was pretty much absent tonight all right he flew around you skating around you’re doing stuff but like where’s you know where’s the results like you know you’re not getting a puck like there are a lot of times in the series where McDavid would beat someone out and always pass one more time oh I’m G to pass it into the slow I’m gon to pass it it’s like dude just you know you got to score for us at some point and you know like I said Leon dry Sidle was was absentee Hyman missed a couple of opportunities so when you want to talk about who produced that a lot of times for the Oilers in the playoffs it was it was Fogle who produced uh you know hallway came up at times yeah hallway came up at times yeah uh Newen Hopkins line was good like he created Havoc you know didn’t score but to me it was basically the role players got him there at some point like as far as the Stanley Cup is concerned there’s a common theme right now in the National Hockey League and I think there’s something to it for real all right so number one the team from Canada can’t win people will blame Gary Batman I’ll put my hand up I’ve been you know oh it’s part of a conspiracy and he hates Canada and all this type of stuff whatever Gary Batman didn’t cost the Edington Oilers to Stanley Cup like you know what I’m saying so you know we we could sort of put that out of the way but you wonder okay why in teams aren’t winning from Canada the tax in Canada is um is is like California it’s in the same type of ballpark it’s a little less but it’s sort of you know it’s and we know we know California is one of the heavier tax places in you know mo in the NBA it doesn’t matter I don’t you know what I’m saying for somebody’s players they’re making so much money it’s like yeah I’m getting taxed a lot but you know I never dreamed of having $280 million so if I get taxed and stuff you don’t get taxed it’s beautiful weather and you make a lot of money and you don’t have a lot of media pressure and you’re on a good team Florida Panthers you play golf all the time you don’t get taxed Tampa Bay Lightning uh what you know Stam Coast guys that try to Stam Coast wanted to be a TR of Maple Leafs like it’s his team and stuff as a kid the when he was a free agent last time the Leafs wind and DED them they offered them like the max max they even illegally told them we’re going to get you all the sponsorship deals and all this type stuff and he said guys even if I sign this I’m gonna lose like $38 Million by moving here he goes I just can’t do it and he said it’s just too much money for me I can’t do it he goes I would do it but I can’t do it it’s too much money to give up there’s something to it in the NHL Mo you know what I mean and the NBA doesn’t matter the NFL whatever everyone makes the same amount of money in NFL anyways dude it’s different NHL finalist in the bubble uh Vegas lost to to uh capitals in the first time around Florida lost last year made the point but I think what it is Gabe now the the NHL has the hardest cap amongst the major four leagues in North America right and Gary bin did what the owners wanted to do and you’re right you look at dry settle in David they are making a combin think almost $21 million of the team cap which is ginormous but if you transl translate that in bigger terms be nothing I think now for the nhpa uh they got to figure out Gabe can they get a better deal in next CBA which I think is the next four five years when you think about it this way the Canadian TV contracts coming up for for the NHL in the next year and a half or two years from now where you know TSN might get back involved Sports may want to keep a piece of the Pod he might go stream as well and that will incre improv on the coffers for the PA and for the ownership groups out there in NHL and you have to wonder now Gabe if they go expansion route for Atlanta and who knows whoever else might come in for team number 33 34 or 35 36 there’s a lot of money that could be had for the NHL next 10 to 12 years but the question is will the PA get anything from the ownership groups to say we can get ourselves a better value for our players than what we’re knock get right now I agree with you and you know what I’m surprised too offered that for him and they turned it down for giddy so like I saw a lot of people out there not a lot but some and not basketball people like the deal for them both with sort of mainstream media types oh how come they and shop around and get more I’ll tell you now Mo do you agree with this cuz the Bulls know you’re not getting anybody better than Josh giddy in this draft with the 13 pick bro Knicks yet other teams understand the impact that he can have OG anobi is not going to be the star of your team but he can help put your team over the top and but he’s going to want a lot of money he wants a lot of money as well so there’s all kinds of rumors flying around here the Philadelphia 76ers I don’t know I never really got the feeling that him and Nick nurse were that tight to be honest and in fact that they go gee that’s one of the reasons why he didn’t like the Raptors because he didn’t think that he was you know he wasn’t in the system enough and that was Nick nurse’s system but whatever um the Oklahoma City Thunders name is coming up I personally think the Sacramento King should go all in and get ogan and Obi oan and Obi will help any team Mo but as a betting man I’ll say he ends up with the Knicks still I think Knicks are definitely the favorites but the question that every team has about OG anobi Gabe is how healthy can he be right because we know the history of Tom Tibido and players in their Peak years of of playing under Tibido they’ve all have suffered some sort of long-term injury and the thing is and you know tibo’s rotation he was of injured with the Raptors before too let’s be real like that’s why that’s why I’m bringing that that pass of his injuries that he’s sustained and he combined that with Tibido entering the peak years of his career is this a good match for OG anobi to stick in New York where look they had a great run with him when they got brought him in back in early in the calendar year but the reality is for OJ anob he’s got to keep healthy if he’s not healthy gab he’s if he’s only available available for two-thirds of the your NBA season is it worth it to pay him $35 million a year which is the the word on the street that he might go for that much per year so a lot of question marks and which team is gonna be ambitious to say he’s the last guy that can get us over the top to win another ring for our franchise because he already has one and he could be that great death play that maybe that one a it’s not one B that can go well in the rotation for whoever gets him this Summer yeah it’s a great Point hey I’m glad you brought that up though as far as him already winning a championship because he wants to get paid point blank so it I don’t think it matters what team if some team came up almost like van Fleet right it doesn’t matter who who’s going to pay the most amount of money like if the San Antonio Spurs like put it this one I don’t think OG’s top of his wish list is uh I need to win he’s already won right like Fred Van fleet was very open about it once on on his podcast when he said I’ve already been an All-Star I already won a championship he goes now I got to get paid right he goes I love the ra he I
