what’s going on guys it’s Thomas at Ford sports media let’s do a breakdown of the 2024 Dynamic Discs open FPL playoff that just happened there’s a specific reason I want to go over this clip but let’s go straight into the recap so we’ve got a cumulative playoff going on meaning that between holes 16 and 18 they’re going to do a loop and they’re instead of playing one sudden death hole they’re going to go and they’re going to play all three aggregate so it’s Missy Ganon and Haley King so Missy starts off with her t-shot on this island hole throws it at a little wide to the right hand side and it skips up and lands here and you’ll see that the spotter actually is unsure of whether or not it’s in bounds and so Haley King goes ahead and throws she leaves it a little high lets it stall a little bit and lands pretty much right outside the bullseye that should be a pretty easy birdie for her and Missy Ganon is just inside and runs the death Putt and sinks it they they were talking about her laying this putt and look at this just barely make it in they talked about her laying this putt because it’s an aggregate playoff she’s got two more holes to try to catch up but goes for it anyway so they’re both one under for the playoffs specifically Missy Ganon still up first throws a great t-shot Haley leaves hers a little bit high and you’ll see it clip this Branch right here lands and she’s going to be pretty out of position and just trying to get as close as she can on her second shot so she can go up and down for par so she’s going to land up here Missy Ganon will step up here and throw her second shot on this Par Four and I mean this is a beautiful looking throw it’s going to go straight in here and land right inside the bullseye Haley King very close leaves it out left just absolutely nuts so she’s got a very interesting one and she’s going to lay up so Haley King is going to go and take a bogey Missy Ganon takes this birdie right here and that means there’s a two-stroke differential going into the final hole 18 of this playoff so Missy throws a very conservative shot on this par 4 Haley really goes for it she needs a birdie hoping that Miss’s going to take par so she tries to pump it up this way and it scoots out of bounds you’ll see this is very close right here if it’s not on the other side of that paint it’s out of bounds so Missy is just free and clear to lay up go across try to secure a par Haley throwing her third shot now to go over the water Haley’s looking to take a par right here and Missy is about to go and throw her third shot over the water as well to try to secure a par now let’s listen to this interaction that comes up here shortly uh she went birdie birdie birdie par oh par she could have birdie if she wanted to though right my bad she could have so we’ll see that Haley King is calling Missy Ganon for a foot fault which is interesting because Haley King is already two strokes behind threw out of bounds so she’s not going to make up one stroke in this case regardless unless Missy just chokes out of her mind Missy says I don’t think that actually happened right there he thinks that she’s calling it and they overturn the call so it is chosen to not be a foot fault uh let’s look at this slow down Missy goes and right here releases the disc I don’t see any movement on the disc yet she pivots the foot after release and then you’ll see it taper up just a little bit so we’ll go backwards right here thanks to the dis golf Network for doing that she spins it’s well out of her hand by the time that it actually her her right foot hits the disc so they do not call it a foot fault Missy sitting here like H you know that’s a little bit of an awkward one I you know the question here is is it a petty call by Haley King you know I understand the idea of hey I’ve got to win an event I’m going to keep a look down here but I think it definitely was way too close to be called and so Missy goes up TAPS in here for par Haley gets the par she wins Miss’s going to raise the trophy up right here and let’s look at this awkward hug right here uh it tries to like dap up and going for the hug not entirely uh smooth right there probably a little bit of tension in there gets the hug from Holland and then we run it back here to the commentator so drop a comment let me know if you think that this was petty or if it was not Petty I’m I’m curious on your end if you think that this should or should not have been a foot faal call and if you think it was in bad taste that Haley King did it now Missy genon is potentially known for doing some footfalls that don’t always get called but there’s a lot of things that probably don’t get called and so I’m curious on your thoughts so this was Thomas at Ford sports media this was a breakdown for me let me know what you think

So petty it’s jammin me
I’ve brought this up, and honestly the bigger your foot is the more likely it would happen. Usually people plant, brace, disc comes out then the foot may swivel and hit the mini. But you would have to watch it in slow mo to tell actually what happens.
If Patrick Mahomes was required to call penalties, there would be a lot more pass interference calls. Sure it was petty. Give her a break and stop making competitors police themselves.
Petty
Hailey has always been unlikeable.
cant hear you
From what I have seen on coverage I don't think Hailey is petty at all. There was movement of the disc but after release. I love watching Missy and Hailey play.
Short hair + those glasses = always problem.
Missys frisbee moves right when she plants on it. Watch the shadow appear in your video.
So this is a difficult one to say whether it was petty. I do think Hailey was trying to win the tournament, but at the moment it did “appear” she was grasping at air. I think Hailey’s intentions were pure to the game, and it was her responsibility to call a foot fault if she thought it was indeed a fault. I think her caddie confirmed what she saw and then she called it.
Being down 3 basically she could’ve said oh well, but she is a competitor and I can’t argue with a will to win.
Congratulations to Missy, she deserved it. She threw 4 GREAT shots to seal it. Hailey didn’t even see it coming.
If it is a foot fault, it doesn't matter how petty it is. The rules don't state you can foot fault as long as it's just a little. Either you have rules and the sport is taken seriously, or you don't call rules and are taken less seriously.
Petty, petty, petty.
petty
"She needs a birdie, hoping Missy is going to take par.' When she's down 2, something tells me that's not quite what she's looking for.
She already had the personality of a brick. After that pathetic grasping at straws moment, she may have lost her one or two fans she had to begin with.
Pretty petty
This would’ve been so much better if you would’ve explained exactly the rules behind the foot fault. Like what has to happen for a moved Disc to be considered a foot or not by the rules.
Dont matter disc was out of the hand damn near half way threw flight lol petty
Baaad sportgirlship… sad. . .
SUPER lame ass move by hailey king. lose a bunch of respect for her because of that. that was not even close to being a foot fault. the disc had clearly left her hand before her foot came anywhere close to her disc on the ground.
Hailey is petty af for this.
i don't think it was in bad taste for Hailey to call it, but I think her ATTITUDE towards the whole thing in general was petty af. "It went up! What do you mean?!"…….."Alright whatever" 🙄
Go watch the round and one before. I see so many foot faults.
Petty
Emily got fed on 18 to miss the playoff. Bullshit
It’s a balance, you don’t call the first one you see – if someone is being egregious you make the call. Missy wasn’t being egregious and Hailey king is a human being, we’re all selfish
Hailey is like that bad mental
Come on already if you want to play by the rules then play by them if you see a rule break, call that person,or at least tell him or her what that did so they might stop doing it in the future! 🐢✝️🥏
Always been getting kinda bad vibes from Hailey…
FPO in general is terrible with foot faults. Anyone who regularly watches live FPO coverage knows you'll see MULTIPLE foot faults every single day of live coverage that are never called by card mates. The culture within FPO is really bad about not addressing foot faults (probably because they don't want to call someone out for what they themselves are guilty of).
Disc golf drama. I´m bored out of my mind watching this but still watched the whole thing.
Nate Ryan won.
From Hailey's point of view she sees the marker disc move and thinks Missy stepped on it. The replay shows she was wrong (the marker moved after release), but she still has the right to make the call. Should players always let each other slide when they truly think there's a violation?
