The Maple Grove girls golf team captured its second straight class AAA team title Wednesday at Bunker Hills in Coon Rapids. The Crimson beat second place Wayzata by fifteen shots to secure the title. Maple Grove’s Amelia Morton finished second in the tournament, one shot behind champion Carmen Jirele of Owatonna. Saachi Deshmukh of Wayzata tied for fifth and McKenna Hogan of Maple Grove tied for seventh.

[Music] wetta in second place one shot behind Maple Grove heading into round two of the state class 3A girls golf tournament McKenna Hogan of Maple Grove sinks the nice par putt on West 8 at Bunker Hills she shoots a 76 and ties for seventh overall Lauren chams of wetta is on target with the putt for par on East n she places 12th with a two-day total of 153 ANUK Hendricks in a Maple Grove comes oh so close looking for Birdie on East n she TAPS in for par and places 31st in the tournament Sashi deshmuk of wetta sinks the birdie putt on West four and wraps up her High School career with a tie for fifth her Trojans are second as a team Maple Groves Amelia Morton is edged out by oana’s Carmen jerley who sinks an impressive long birdie here on West 8 she cards a 7 3 after a first round 69 to win by one stroke Morton after leading for much of the round is second with rounds of 71 and 72 and she leads her Crimson to a 15 shot win to make it back-to- back team championships for Maple Grove super cool I mean it was great to do it with some more girls um that weren’t on the team last year so it was super fun it feels like a good finish it feels like a good end to six years on this team and being able to do with Mia and the rest of the girls has been very special and with plenty of young Talent there’s more to come for the Crimson Jay Willcox CCX Sports find more Prep sports games and highlights at CCX media.org and follow us on social media [Music]
