good morning dog Nation I’m Brandon Adams and this is dog Nation daily the daily podcast for Georgia Bulldogs fans presented today by BR a pass manager have to confess our conversation today is a little bit different than I thought we’d be having uh yesterday CJ Wally the four-star wide receiver and what I thought was pretty big surprise chose Florida State over both Georgia and LSU does not seem like this recruitment is done so we’re going to talk today on the program about what happens next with all of this we also have two great guests Mike Griffith stops by and our buddy the former Georgia quarterback Jake FR before we are done there as well there’s also some other news as it relates to Georgia here right now including a tradition for the dogs doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon so let’s get ready to cover all of that ground we are happy to have you with us as we do it it is dog Nation daily uh the daily podcast for Georgia Bulldogs fans presented today by braa Pest Management and it begins right now today’s episode of dog Nation daily is brought to you by braa Pest Management the official pest control of ug Athletics presented by dognation docomo fans here’s your host Brandon Adams you know we love all this stuff because it always has a way of presenting something you oftentimes don’t expect there are surprises seemingly at every turn month-to month during the season during the offseason certainly when it comes to ug recruiting yesterday was an example of that as the four-star wide receiver CJ Wy in an announcement that you saw right here on the dog Nation video channels chose Florida State over both Georgia and LSU LSU had the family tie Georgia was the end state tie and it was Florida state that won the uh commitment at least for yesterday in the announcement that you saw right here now as I was kind of telling some of our video audience a moment ago I think stuff like this kind of puts me in a little bit of a tricky position because I’m a little bit old school in the fact that you know if a kid’s going to allow us to be there at his ceremony and and kind of televise that or at least televis the wrong word but you know streaming I guess the word I’m looking for there uh obviously I’m going to show respect for his decision no matter what it is even when a guy like that doesn’t go to UG and frankly let’s say that CJ Wy sticks with Florida State and that becomes his school forever well obviously that’s incredible success story to be the kind of athlete that’s had the kind of career a state champion at Milton and a guy that goes on to the seminal if that’s what his story is that’s a tremendous story and obviously we would honor that and as someone who loves High School football in Georgia that’s just kind of the perspective I have on that and yet I also have an obligation I think to be as candid with all of you as possible during a situation like this so without kind of unfairly I guess being too skeptical of what Wally put forth yesterday I think the one thing that you couldn’t help but notice in the ceremony if you saw our video of this was the fact that it was not exactly the most celebratory environment you know Wy himself and if you’re watching on video right now you’ve seen some of this it’s not like he was all smiles necessarily he was smiling some but at times he seemed to have a little bit more of um of a you know tense more more tense face maybe that’s just because he was nervous about the moment perhaps that’s the case but he certainly didn’t seem to be uh you know just beside himself in celebration the uh the reaction when he picked Florida state was a little bit subdued sometimes in the Atlanta area when a guy like that announces that he plans on leaving the state to go to college You’ perhaps expect that to be the case but there pretty clearly was not this rockus celebration of one of their own choosing to go to a major program like Florida State yesterday it was the kind of thing that was noticeable enough that I think it has to be kind of a factor in into this story that ultimately maybe the decision Wy made yesterday is not exactly the final choice and much like a year ago when a guy like KJ Balden chose Florida stay before eventually coming back to Georgia on national Signing Day maybe somebody like CJ Wy could end up doing sort of the same thing and the evidence we have to suggest this is at least a possibility I think comes from Wy himself I want to give you a little bit from CJ yesterday speak speaking with reporters after he’ announced his decision for Florida State and certainly I think the most basic read of all of this you know the most objective read we can provide of all of this is that the announcement Yesterday by Wy for Florida state was simply one of the steps here in his journey and the recruiting story as it relates to CJ seems to be far from done this is from CJ Wy yesterday uh now my recruitment is still going to be open on other school is still like recruit me and stuff but yes I’m with know right now I mean all the schools are really head tohe head for real I just like I said I had to go down like just check my uh checklist see what school fits me the best all the schs are really even br oh yes sir they did Reach Out u i probably still go to Georgia since it’s up the road still just check on them everything so yes sir I mean it’s still open like I said I just committed to the uh SS right now I didn’t sign any papers I’m just committed to S I mean not exactly a done deal uh he says listen my recruitment is still open I’ve signed with the I’ve uh I’ve chosen Florida State as he says right now I haven’t signed any paperwork or anything like that it certainly didn’t feel like a very final decision by Wy yesterday so much so that I believe I sit on the air that it seems like we might be back at Milton high school before this year is done for another one of these kinds of announcements from CJ perhaps that time he sticks with Florida State or maybe goes to LSU or maybe it’s Georgia the same way it was for KJ Balden a year ago and kind of a similar type situation uh perhaps it’s not but it sort of feels like this one is far from done and yet even with that said I I do want to I guess give some Credence here to some Georgia fans reaction of this in the moment I I think I think we can all agree with this is when you hear CJ Wy say that I think you can we can all agree well there’s going to be a lot more that happens here other visits to Georgia the continued push from Georgia in the past when it comes to these kinds of things we see Georgia win those recruiting battles heck within the last you know couple of days we’ve seen a player that originally committed elsewhere make an emphatic sort of not quite a flip because he had decommitted prior to that but in kind of an emphatic pledge to Georgia I’m talking about Isaiah Gibson here after being briefly committed to USC so whether it’s Gibson now KJ Balton a year ago we see Georgia remain Relentless in these kinds of Pursuits and it eventually gets its man very very often but even with that as a possibility there are still some Georgia fans who kind of look in on this and I do sort of get some of this they look they look in on this and they say man what is it with Georgia when it comes to the rec the the recruiting of wide receivers why is it if there’s some weird drama to take place and if a guy makes a surprising decision or if he slips out of georg’s hands and out of georg’s grasp right there at the last minute why does it seem like it’s wide receiver more than any other position I think that’s a fair conversation to have now I’ve also been of the belief that when you look at the overall offensive success that Georgia has had the last couple of years whatever Georgia’s doing sometimes winning with recruits that are less than you know Stellar prospects at least on paper and bringing in a collection of transfers whatever the mechanism is to get talent in this position room it’s clearly working the overall offensive stat statistics plus a couple of national championships going to tell you the story about that yet at the same time I’m not going to completely dismiss the notion of man there is something seemingly going on for Georgia at the wide receiver position that is different than what seems to exist for Georgia when it comes to other positions I think that’s a fair conversation to be had so let’s have that here for a moment the number one reason why I would kind of at least listen to that as an argument while also kind of pushing back on it a bit is because the Wy story when it comes to this 2025 class is not the only thing that’s happening for Georgia at the receiver position right now you brought in blackshire the other day the uh young man from The Savannah area and you also brought in Talon Taylor just the other day there as well who we say man you know Georgia doesn’t win with Elite wide receiver prospects CJ Wy the latest example of that to make too big of a deal of that would come at the disregard of what Georgia did did just a few days ago when it comes to a guy like Talon Taylor and I don’t think that we can overstate here the fact that Taylor is viewed to be a major league Prospect the kind of guy who could make an immediate impact to Georgia when he arrives as a freshman in 2025 the likes of which that a lot of first year players in the SEC at that position are not able to do and it’s not just me who’s saying that Georgia quarterback can met Ryan mcgomery who was out last week in California for the Elite 11 met up with our Jeff santel and Ryan told Jeff there just how excited he is for the chance to play with Taylor so when you think about Georgia losing out at least for now on CJ Wy keeping in mind that georg’s already in this class won with a couple of very nice High School receivers including a major Prospect like Talon Taylor it’s just important to keep that in the proper context in fact let me read to you here from a story just a few days ago at dog nation.com of what Montgomery said about Taylor he says he’s as dynamic as they get Dynamic playmaker he’s going to make my job a lot easier I spent a lot of time with him on our official visit together so touting him as a dynamic playmaker other Scouts are saying maybe even as a freshman he might be able to do some of those things so we talk about what Georgia has not been able to do from a recruiting standpoint at the receiver position Fair discussion but making too big a deal about that in line of the Wy news I think requires the proper context of yeah but George’s already won with a couple of pretty nice prospects in this class and Taylor is the sort of elite high-end top level prospect that we’ve said we want to see Georgia get from the uh from the receiver position now let me give you a couple of other things here just for a moment before we kind of wrap this up and move on to something else the other I think and by the way this is just my opinion this is not reporting this is just my opinion the other thing that’s going to kind of come up here when a guy like this makes a somewhat unorthodox decision is ah the nil they swooped in with the bag you know uh you know um Florida State money whipped Georgia and and maybe even lsu2 they got him right there at the last minute they made the bid for him I saw somebody on a message board I thought this really funny you guys ever do like eBay and stuff like that where you kind of do the eBay snipe thing where you sort of slide in there and like make the bid right at the last minute if you do baseball cards things like that sometimes you kind of know how that is that’s what Florida state did on this and listen I’m not naive at least Hopey hopefully not of course for any you know recruit the caliber of Wy you would assume that nil is going to be a major factor in that discussion but this notion that it’s a huge financial windfall that caused him to choose Florida State Over Georgia yesterday I mean go back and watch the video once again not to be too judgy of the body language or too you know reactionary of the mood but did this yesterday look like someone who just got the biggest payday of his life I would suggest that it kind of didn’t now he’s going to get some nil no matter where he goes but imagine if you just found out you won the lottery think about the back flips that you would be doing I probably would be doing as well at least as much as my body would allow me to you know when I’m watching this video yesterday I’m not really seeing the evidence of someone who just got a massive paycheck or at least one that was far greater than he might get somewhere else if I had to guess on the basis of body language alone I I I I don’t know that looked like a big payday decision for Wy yesterday uh and you know when you look at the way that George is recruiting everybody else it certainly seems to to to appear to be they’re competitive with anybody when it comes to that particular space here right now I also just to be completely honest here don’t give a whole lot of credence to the notion that this is the sort of shrewd move a coach like Mike norell is capable of doing fact of the matter is while you know Florida State’s been pretty good at bringing players in at the transfer portal they actually haven’t recruited the high school ranks all that effectively I think one of the reasons why Mike norell was not viewed as more of a legitimate candidate as a replacement for Nick sain in Alabama and there’s plenty of people around tuscalo who will tell you this is there was some skepticism in Tuscaloosa about how effective a recruiter Mike Norvell could prove to be so the idea that he swooped into the last minute and he used his you know uh sort of kg wisdom to sort of figure out how to steal a guy like CJ Wy away from Georgia Mike Norville is not really doing a ton of that on the recruiting Trail right now so the idea that he did that and use some big bag of niil cash to be able to do that that doesn’t seem seem to line up very well with what Florida State’s doing in other places plac when it comes to high school football recruiting overall so the point here is sort of seems to me that this was just a thing that happened and a decision that Wy made surprising the way that young 17 and 18 18y old young men make a lot of surprising decisions from time to time it also felt like the kind of decision that doesn’t necessarily have a lot of finality to it that at some point in time Wy may be given cause to rethink that decision and that could be a moment in which it works out pretty well for Georgia now one more thing on all of this before we turn the page and look at a different topic there is also some belief here today that Georgia could be back on commitment watch once again for a different wide receiver it’s a name that you remember although a completely different person wearing that name Tyler Williams a receiver out of the state of Florida he put out on social media yesterday that he’s got some sort of announcement coming today uh many think this could be a commitment decision and many think that Georgia could be the benefit officiary of that decision now to be Frank Williams probably is not the same level of prospect that Wy is certainly when these Cycles are all said and done it seems like there could be some distance there between them but there is a lot to like and a lot of folks will tell you this about Tyler Williams this version of Tyler Williams not the same Tyler Williams that signed with George as receiver a couple of years ago uh but there are a lot of people tell you there’s something to like about this young man there as well so we promised you a busy week in ug recruiting we’ve certainly provided that a couple of pieces of good news already a surprising piece of not so great you news involving CJ W yesterday and maybe by chance another commitment here coming up perhaps even today so bumpy ride some of it good some of it not quite so good when it comes to CJ Wy it certainly seems like this to me is far from dawn my name’s Brandon Adams and this is dog Nation daily the daily podcast for Georgia Bulldogs fans presented today by braa pass management we’re happy to have you you here today I’m so happy to roll this out it’s going to be such an incredible thing and I cannot wait to tell you about it and you got to have your finger on the trigger and be ready to go like right from the word go because when I tell you that uh space is limited at least in one particular case uh space is going to be limited on that we’ll do this with you here coming up in just a little bit also it’s the former Georgia quarterback Jake FR coming up in just a bit there as well that’s going to be a lot of fun we can I talk about some of the stuff that’s kind of going on with Georgia as it relates to some of the Wy stuff and kind of get je Jake’s perspective on all of that Mike Griffith coming up here in a moment too total confession Mike normally our Wednesday guest had a little bit of an issue we had to record this with Mike yesterday it’s kind of ironic I’ll joke about this in a moment normally it’s Mike live and oftentimes Jake from recorded today it’s the opposite we pre-recorded with Mike yesterday we’re going to have Jake from here live so that is all coming up in just a moment prior to that though let’s get ready to go around the dogghouse presented today by our friends at Georgia Farm Bureau and we got some speaking of Mike Griffith story from him at dognation domcom yesterday about new details on the stadium renovation project down in Jacksonville it looks like this has been given the green light that’s going to happen which sets up a scenario coming up in a couple of years where at least briefly the Georgia Florida game will not be in Jacksonville and Mike’s reporting kind of matches up with some of the stuff we’ve been seeing since last fall that while and I’ll show you this on the screen that while the Georgia Florida game has to find a new home because of Stadium Renovations in Jacksonville it seems like it’ll be looking at other neutral side venues I’ll read here from Mike story The 2627 locations of the Georgia Florida football game are one step closer to being determined Mike says that sour is close to the situation of told dog Nation it’s much more likely that George and Florida will opt for neutral sight games in those two years rather than a home and Home Series as the neutral sight options bring greater Financial incentive Mike reports to the Jacksonville city council approved the deal for the radio station in Jacksonville 1010xl that will build what is being referred to as the stadium of the future for the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars now if you care about sports Beyond just ug interesting here that Jacksonville which has long been rumored to perhaps be a consideration because of shod khon the owner and his ties to uh uh the UK that they might move and become a international franchise they play a couple of games in London each year this Stadium renovation project will seem to end that discussion the Jaguars staying in Jacksonville here which is a a big win for the folks in North Florida and I do love that area um and it’s also I think an end to the discussion about where the Georgia Florida game should be play that look at one point in time we know how open Kirby Smart was about this Kirby Smart believed it was a recruiting disadvantage for Georgia to not have the Georgia Florida game as a home game every other year smart at times been pretty clear about that the most high-profile example was a couple of years ago you remember when he and um Tim TBO in kind of a sort of a light-hearted way were arguing about this during SEC media days about where that game should be played smart has been pretty clear in his opinion on this here’s my prediction we will never hear another word from Kirby smart about this ever again I think we just live in a different era for College athletics now because of the you know the the NCAA settlement where all of a sudden now there’s the payoff the back pay to previous athletes and the revenue payments going forward and all of a sudden turning a blind eye to something that brings in extra money to your program I don’t think any athletic dep department has that luxury anymore and I don’t believe that Georgia does either that the Georgia Florida game which at one point in time smart kind described as a disadvantage for his team because of the travel I believe moving for will now be viewed as an advantage for Georgia because it’s the extra Financial windfall that other programs do not have and I know that people don’t like the idea of the Georgia Florida game being Whitted down to just you know a financial Arrangement I’m kind of right there with you but in a day and age in which Money Matters the Georgia Florida game and the payout that comes from that uh nobody from either School seems to want that to go away anytime soon so even for the two you know backtack 2026 202 s games where you won’t be playing the game in jaxville you know back in the 90s when that happened you went home and home for both those games but the fact of the matter is it’s not just in this particular case that a neutral site venue would be willing to pay you a good bit of dollars you know if you talk to Josh Brooks or Scott Strickland the uh athletic director from Florida and ask them they’ll tell you that the act of traveling on the road to go play a road game is a very expensive proposition and a pretty big debit from your overall budget for the years so you know even with this game remaining in Jacksonville over the course of the Long Haul they don’t even want to go home and home for a couple of years here just on the simple basis at the road game for whichever year you have to play it is a pretty big expense when you’ve been used to bringing in those extra Millions year after year after years so in the overall bottom line here and what overall has been a pretty significant era of change a lot coming to college football that didn’t used to be one tradition that seems like is going to survive is Georgia Florida in jackville now it’ll look different if you’re playing in a retractable roof Stadium which is what I believe this new venue uh in renovated venue in jackville is going to be but for those who’ve liked the cocktail Pary as Larry mson once said those dog people who get those condominiums for four and five days and Jacks and St Simons and Jackal Island and places like that does not seem like that’s likely to go away anytime soon so that is R the dogghouse it’s presented today by our friends at Georgia Farm Bureau and Georgia Farm Bureau also wants to present something to you there as well you know they know there are certain Insurance products that just mean a lot to you in your livelihood for instance your auto insurance first of all legally you have to have it and B when it comes to the vehicle that kind of gets you the place you want to go and the the the the job that perhaps you depend on you know when it comes to your your transportation be able to do that job effectively auto insurance is a very important thing for you so when it comes to who you should trust for your auto insurance how about trusting someone that’s right here in your state with you you know we’ve said for a long time the at Georgia Farm are living and they’re working and they’re just kind of living their lives you know right here in communities just like ours right here in the state of Georgia that means when you do business with Georgia Farm Bureau you’re doing business with local folks who are pouring back into our community especially when it comes to like the agricultural Community you know Georgia is proud of its Heritage of farmland and and and great tasting foods and you know locally sourced foods and Georgia Farm Bureau is committed to taking care of the farmers who are making you know so many of our plates so much tastier uh Georg Farm buau taking good care of those folks and they want to take good care of you when it comes to your auto insurance or any other insurance product you might need so please find them online gfb insurance.com that’s gfb insurance.com you can also give them a call 877 44150 that’s 877 404-1050 great to have Georgia Farm Bureau bringing around the dogghouse to us here today okay so before we’re done big announcement about a fun event with dog nature we’ll tell you about that Jake from here live to react to all the news of the uh day but for now on everything else happening with the Georgia football an interview we recorded yesterday how about Mike Griffith here on dog Nation daily presented by BR as manager from Athens and across the SEC or wherever the recruiting Trail may lead here’s a dog.com Insider and here on dognation daily presented by BR Pest Management happy to have Mike Griffith on the program now little bit of a reversal of Fortune for us on Plenty of weeks always to get a chance to talk to Mike here live and then typically on Wednesdays we’ll have a recorded conversation with Jake from just kind of fits his schedule better oftentimes to record that and uh Mike usually obviously sitting here live today we’re doing this the opposite later on the program we’re actually going to talk to Jake live we’re going to talk to Mike though on the pre-recorded basis here right now uh Mike having some business to take care of on the uh Wednesday which the show will obviously air so Mike let me first of all say welcome to the program thanks for being here we uh hope that you are uh doing very well here today appreciate it Brandon absolutely that is the case and obviously uh we have seen Georgia over the course of the last few days now In fairness we’re recording this prior to knowing uh the decision from the four-star wide receiver CJ Wy but certainly there was plenty of recruiting news talk about before that Mike whether you know you get into the individual names or not interesting to see in a day and age in which so much has changed around College athletics and the transfer portal and the nil and all that kind of stuff kind of making the the operation of this sport far different than it’s ever been it’s not seemingly having an appreciable impact on what Georgia is doing on a regular basis because the same kind of recruiting success this program was enjoying in sort of the ancient times of Kirby Smart’s first years it seems like a lot of that’s continuing here right now that it is just sort of a well-oiled machine and a whole lot of very productive visits in June are kind of turning into a flurry of commitments for Georgia as we uh get ready to end this month uh pretty impressive streak the Georgia Bulldogs have been on in recruiting as of is it not yeah no doubt I think what six or seven commits in the month of June and we’ve seen Georgia shoot up to number two in the rankings at the Tope of this at the time of this taping and you know I think that Kirby still wants to recruit High School talent and develop that at George I think that’s important is that’s what really shapes your culture um I guess we saw in the bowl game the difference between a team that’s bought in uh to one another and and a team in Florida State of course that had a lot of transfers that that maybe weren’t as bought into one another in the culture and and hence they were more willing to opt out so uh which is not to say that all transfers went opt out but I do think that you want to have a core of players that have grown in the program and understand the standards and and what Georgia football is all about and I think Georgia is still one of the best at developing Talent now the transfer portal has its place there’s no doubt uh at some schools more than others but Kirby said more than once uh you know given his brothers he would prefer to recruit the talent and develop it and use the portal to kind of supplement U maybe areas where uh there’s been injuries or players have left early uh for whatever reason speaking of Kirby mar mar interesting column up at dog nation.com about him the other day as once again the SEC kind of gets ready to move into kind of a new era and I think an era that’s going to be incredibly entertaining we’ll find out how successful it is for Georgia obviously there’s a lot of reason for optimism but pretty entertaining nonetheless because of the quality of games that are about to be played and the point that you were making and I believe you also brought this up on your on the B program on Monday is that uh Kirby Smart once again has Georgia well positioned to thrive in this new environment it gets more challenging but Georgia seems to be ready to rise to that challenge tell us a little bit more about your overall take about where Kirby has this program right now well you know I reflect on coming out of the 2021 season I I still think the 2021 bulldogs were the most impressive of all they did suffer a loss uh 2022 went undefeated and they did that after losing 15 players to the NFL draft which was a record and another 13 in the transfer portal including four former starters Brandon You could argue that that was the greatest uh amount of talent to go out the door in any program in college football history I mean 15 NFL draft picks was a record and there hasn’t been a portal that long where a team would lose 13 players including four starters and and yet what do they do in 2022 well they go undefeated and run the table now what that suggested to me was the importance of having continuity at the quarterback and the coordinator position trumped a lot of other things of course Todd monin was back and ston Bennett was back for his second run for another National Title I look at this year’s bulldogs and yes they did lose some Talent they lost Brock bers who I think was probably the most Irreplaceable piece of the 2019 teams they lost excuse me of the two national title teams they lost lad makoni easily the most explosive receiver on the team and yet here they sit with Carson back back and Mike Bobo back I like that continuity and I like what Kirby did in the portal with Trevor etn my exp expectations for etn are really through the roof I mean I think this guy is dynamic explosive he can run between the tackles he can get the edge he can get downfield and he’s a home run hitter I think he’s a wee bit more explosive even than DeAndre Swift maybe not quite as much power but the same sort of Runner with the ability to cut back turn on a dime and show you that burst an acceleration so I think this is a very explosive player time will tell how durable he’ll be and to what extent Kirby will use him because it’s going to be a 16 17 Game season for Georgia and you got to make sure that etn gets to the Finish Line I think one of the things I think is interesting here too is is that as I’ve kind of pointed on the show a little bit over the course of the last few days I am fascinated to find out whether on the field this season we see a team that kind of Rises up to be what I would think of is the sort of team capable of giving Georgia a fair fight now obviously anybody can be beaten Georgia of course can be too I’m certainly not here to suggest that suggest that Georgia is unbeatable but right now it doesn’t look like whether it’s you know on the basis of maybe like one team in the given year perhaps Ohio state would come closest but certainly program overall doesn’t look like that anybody right now is quite at George’s level now that doesn’t remain true forever eventually someone will rise up so does that team rise up this year is it the most likely usual such ECT like Ohio state is it the team in the SEC that seem to be the closest Georgia right now which I would say is Texas I am really fascinated by what happens this fall as we stretch into that expanded playoff because I’m curious to see can Georgia take advantage of what right now seems like a little bit of a gap between itself and the rest of the sport or does Georgia give some of that ground back and allow someone else to sort of Step Up and become a perceived equal to ug I I think that’s a fascinating storyline it is and and honestly I think dumb luck determines it Brandon I mean injuries let’s face it if Brock Bowers is healthy or if lad makoni is 100% who knows maybe if amarius SMS can play more than 12 snaps uh there’s a chance or jaman dumes Johnson doesn’t ever get injured for that matter um you know there’s a chance that Georgia probably beats Alabama and wins another National Title so uh on the one hand I would agree with you that you know Georgia does appear premium and Superior uh to everyone on their schedule and yet we also learned last year if you have one or two guys go down um you know that that can cost you a national championship and then let’s face it Carson Beck needs to play like Carson Beck I I think Carson Beck could be starting for the Denver Broncos in the NFL this season heading on Pro I think he’s a better quarterback than than Bo Nicks uh but Carson elected to stay for another year Georgia was able to resign their free agent in this new era you know Carson got his money and and the pictures of the Lamborghini that’s posted um can Carson backck play like the number one overall pick which is where he’s can he’s currently projected to be so a lot of this is how does Carson back play in the big games didn’t really have a lot of opportunities last year to show the clutch genan I thought he did at Auburn but that was playing pitch and catch with Brock Bowers in the fourth quarter against Alabama Brandon while I thought Carson played okay I didn’t think he played his best and George is going to need Carson to be at his best at some point next season in the college football playoff the next big thing on the college football calendars what’s going to happen in Dallas which is a strange thing to say for SEC media days uh Mike what do you think the hot topics of media days are going to be we’re only a few weeks away from that and it will be obviously a new eras the league is now at 16 teams Texas and Oklahoma I guess you know making you know among their first official appearances is now SEC members what do you think SEC media day is going to be like this year out west for the first time yeah it’s always hard to predict what those external issues would be in terms of the court cases going on with you know the ability for nil or to standardize college football play pay I think it it’s it’s predictable and somewhat boring right now but it’s look it’s going to be in Dallas so they’re going to talk about Texas and and Oklahoma in the league and what they can do and what it means to the league we caught a little bit of that at the spring meetings it’s going to be an opportunity for Steve sarkeesian in Texas to to take the Victory lap after all they were team that went into Tuscaloosa and beat Alabama by 10 points that game ultimately kept Georgia out of the playoffs because we played the transitive properties game at the end and Texas beat Alabama and Alabama beat Georgia so Georgia wasn’t able to sneak into the top four even though every previous number one team had always made the college football playoff even after losing their respective conference title game TCU for example the year before so Texas has already played a little bit of a role I think you’re going to hear a lot about Texas and Steve sarkeesian Quinn ERS uh the the Texas Longhorns be the toast of that town I wonder how many uh media people will be there Brandon I mean this is a long way for a lot of people to travel and it certainly seems that the SEC has been in over backwards uh to welcome these teams into the league so that’s an issue uh I think that they’re still talking about a proposal that would limit roster size we heard coaches really take up for wanting to maintain Walk-Ons and and and maybe three star freshman maybe the the lad mconies and the Eric Stokes of the world who may not have ever been afforded an opportunity because they were lower ranked recruits and teams now would go out and answer that question through the portal a little more quickly so I think programs are going to continue to try to support bigger rosters that includes Walk-Ons and I think we’re going to hear a lot about Texas and Oklahoma let me finish with this in in light of all of that when the news first came down at SEC media Days A couple of years ago I was really fascinated by how consistently negative what I would think of sort of Hardcore SEC fans of which I am one uh how um consistently negative the response was to the league getting bigger by adding these two big programs in lot of SEC fans weren’t quite so sure about that I was obviously a little bit skeptical myself yet here we sit on the doorstep of the Season beginning with Tex and Oklahoma in it and you can’t deny the schedules are more interesting the the the conversations are a little bit more compelling than perhaps we’ve had in the past so just a very simple question do you think the SEC is better with Texas and Oklahoma in it yeah no doubt and they’re also better off financially the television package is worth more and that’s important when you look at the big 10 having a more it’s not worth more poor school though now it’s important to know that that uh while they did get the pro rated amount they’re not getting more per school right now which is I think one of the sticking points that some of the other league member sort of have at the moment right no I would agree with that and you know but the Big 10 has that valuable contract right now because of their footprint right their television footprint and adding Texas and Oklahoma definitely gives you the dollar Fort Worth uh Metropolitan I believe that might be the number four television market in the country you look at the big 10 they’ve got Los Angeles Chicago and uh that New York New Jersey area represented again these are television sets and the number of people that it can reach so I I think it was a must I think Greg sanki spelled it out well Brandon when he said look when Texas and Oklahoma come calling you’ve got a choice you can either take them or let them go to another conference and make another conference more valuable I don’t think the SEC really had a choice I don’t mind it cuz like you I’m intrigued by the schedule and I also think that the SEC was able to maintain a geographical uh footprint with Integrity here I mean Texas is adjacent to Louisiana and Arkansas and and after all it is I guess it’s a an expanded uh version of the southeast if you will so I don’t mind it from a standpoint of where these schools are at located geographically I like what they bring from an exposure standpoint and tradition certainly Texas uh has a very large following it’s also a very good academic institution and I think it belongs in the SEC more than it would belong in the ACC or the Big 10 and and adding that uh television market adds Great Value in what’s kind of become a a race for the most amount of Television money because once that money gets spread out among the schools uh you can use those money for money for monies for things like nil or facilities or paying coaches so I think it was kind of a must and I do think it makes the league better Mike fun stuff appreciate you being here on dog Nation daily presented by BR a pest manager today and we’ll look for talking to you uh back here very soon as well all right thanks Brandon let’s take a look around the rest of the League this is SEC through very good stuff there from Mike grith don’t forget Jake from the former Georgia quarterback comes up live here in just a couple of minutes there as well but for now we have reached the moment that I am incredibly excited about now I’ve been kind of teasing an announcement here for a little while most of you are wise enough to sort of probably pick up at least some hints about what that might be and now we are ready to unveil it how about the dog Nation Cruise here in 2025 as we get ready to go Cruis around the courtesy of Royal Caribbean details can now be revealed from April 21st to the 25th in 2025 the dog Nation Cruise year four for the dog Nation Cruise will be the biggest of them all as we will be on board the brand new Utopia of the sea I cannot tell you how excited I am about this because obviously I myself get a chance to be among the very first to be on Utopia the Seas coming up here in a couple of weeks and I have had it circled as a possible cruise ship for us on dog nation in 2025 we had a lot we had to do behind the scenes sort of make this happen I can’t even get into to all of those details but this is an incredibly popular ship space on a ship like this is incredibly limited here right now and so I think one of the questions that we sort of had behind the scenes was is the demand just too great for Utopia of the Seas to even have room for the dog Nation cruise and the answer to that question is no we can figure out a way to do that and if you’re watching on video you get a chance to look back and see some of the fun of what we were able to enjoy last year just such an incredible incredible experience and you get your chance to be on this year’s version of the dog Nation cruise for 2025 on a ship unlike any we’ve ever been on before I’m talking about Utopia the Seas now let me give you some information here we have also secured a special rate on some of the best state rooms on board Utopia of the sea so we have kind of rolled this out already with the people who were on our dog Nation cruises in the past so we’ve given them a chance to have a little bit of a of an early jump on some of that and many of them have jumped on our allotment here on this so when when it comes to special rate pricing on some of the very best state rooms on board uh Utopia of the Seas there is a limited availability on that I don’t mean that in kind of the sort of hype man sort of way that I sometimes do I mean legitimately if you want special rate pricing on an outstanding State room with the dog Nation Cruise there on board Utopia the Seas you need to act right now so Jessica Slater the one to uh think about when it comes to this you can reach out to Jessica you can email her J Slater dream vacations.com you can also go to the website dog.com cr-225 let me give that to you again to make sure you got it it’s dognation dcom cr-225 that’s a easy link to get to uh to get to Jessica Slater and get on board Utopia of the Seas with us I am so excited about this brand new ship housing our dog Nation crew still sailing out of pork and ail still going to Perfect Day COC K still having that great experience there also some fun stuff coming to Nassau this year which I think that people going to really like well by Nassau I mean Nassau and the Bahamas so all of that is coming up dog Nation cruise for 2025 on board Utopia of the Seas how about that now couple of stories here before we get uh Jake from of course Cruis on the SEC courtesy of Royal Caribbean how do y’all know if you’ve been with us for a long time one of my favorite thing is the coaching Carousel I love coaching rumors I always have I got to tell you we’ve had one of the juicy in the SEC for a while uh as it relates to a coach leaving one job to take another and it involves college baseball we talked about this yesterday so Jim Schlagel was the Texas A&M baseball coach had been at TCU um comes to A&M and has great success there so much so they play for the national championship coming up one game short there against Tennessee after the game that night after when A&M had lost he was asked by a reporter from tags who is a big website that covers the agies if schl would view himself as a potential candidate for the just open job at Texas because of a relationship with Texas ad Crystal Connie and Schlagel and what will go down in infamy is one of the sort of worst denials of all time fired back in the reporter at the reporter in kind of a very heavy-handed type of way for some context just because it’s interesting this is what schas Nel said I think he’s pretty selfish of you to ask me that question to be honest with you uh but my uh I left my family to be the coach at Texas A&M I took the job at Texas A&M to never take another job again and that hasn’t changed in my mind what he did not say in that clip you heard or any of the other things he said that night is no I’m definitely not taking the Texas job even though he sort of fired back at the reporter for asking the question well guess what two days after schlass nigle says what he says this morning he is the head coach now at Texas so get this now the Tex A&M baseball coach leads the agies to the college world series final and like within 24 hours he is now the head coach at their hated rival when I tell you this is the juiciest store in the SEC this week I believe it probably is and it’s baseball a sport we don’t quite always get that kind of stuff from but man this has been fun on the heels of a College World Series that I think had us pretty entertained and a year for Georgia that was pretty good in its own right doesn’t it kind of feel like college baseball is having itself a little bit of a moment here right now I got to tell you if we’re going to start doing college baseball coaching carousels and coaches saying dumb stuff like this only to be like doing the exact opposite thing 24 hours later if that helps us pass the time between you know the long summer and the start of the college football season I got no beef with that whatsoever pretty good drama coming from Jim schlagle right there now the head coach of Texas and don’t you know when these two teams get together next year in the SEC with the Longhorns now in the league that is going to be a lot of fun I’ll also give you this real quick there as well you perhaps read about this at dog nation.com our friends at EA Sports unveiling the brand new college football video game also have their various ratings they use to kind of create gameplay within the game and one of those is how much credit you get for your home field advantage so some Georgia fans perhaps will be a little bit disappointed to find out that Georgia is not ranked number one when it comes to EA Sports and its home field advantage despite the fact that Georgia has not lost a home game since what 2019 am I right about that yeah 2019 we’ll show you this on the screen Georgia comes in at number five on this just behind Ohio State which seems to be playing cupcakes all the time at homes I’m not really quite so sure what you get from that uh LSU comes at number three Alabama comes at number two Tex A&M comes at number one now by my count Tex A&M has lost how many home games uh it feels like there’s a certain lack of uh I guess scientific rigor that goes into some of this kind of stuff what’s the big Labowski line that’s just like your opinion man it’s sort of feels like this is what this is but George’s at five you got Penn State at number six I feel like they lose their white out game all the time too I don’t know you know Wisconsin at seven Alabama travels there this year by the way Oklahoma’s at eight Florida State’s at nine Florida’s at 10 they lose I’d like to see the records of some of these teams at home especially against the spread you know for instance is Florida a better HomeField Advantage than auburn is given how much better Auburn plays at home compared to on the road we might need to see this uh group from EA Sports show their work here a little bit uh but nonetheless Georgia coming in at number five they’re on that rank and we’ll make that cruising around the SEC courtesy of Royal Caribbean and we’ll see you on board Utopia of the Seas coming up next April for our fourth ever dog Nation Cruise now before I get Jake from let me also give a shout out here really quick to our friends at Mr rder and obviously when you have a plumbing issue show up in your home the one thing you don’t want is to have to let that linger because that can create a huge mess and nobody wants to kind of do that kind of stuff themselves that’s where our friends at Mr Rutter sort to step in to offer you whatever plumbing work you need whether it’s home home uh water filtration drain cleaning repair water heaters so much more this is a neighborly company that’s there to do the work you need for both residential and Commercial clients alike everything in between all day every day you can get some repair work done so please find them online it’s Mr rder georgia.com that is mrder georgia.com for more more on that today now let’s say hello now to Jake FR here the former Georgia quarterback as a part of a Kroger fresh take here today on dog Nation daily happy to have Jake live on the program here today there as well and Jake as we say good morning to you we were just looking at that from EA Sports the brand new college football video game Georgia only fifth on the home field advantage ranking even though they never lose at home seems like a little low for me I think we can make a case for Georgia being higher than that right I completely agree 100% Brandon thank you for having me here on the show live from 30A today so we’re be hitting the beach right after this so uh but you know I I agree totally uh I definitely think wins and losses has to be a part of that um I love looking you know at the spread you know if you’re playing at home or away kind of what you were diving into makes complete sense like hey let’s put some numbers behind it kind of equate it to the whole um you know who’s the greatest quarterback of all time conversation like at the end of the day proof is in the pudding and winning and uh I I think wins have to have to add up to something here and um I think it’s a little low now I will also say this if you want to go back to kind of like before your era at Georgia before the Kirby Smart era if we’re doing like top 10 environments in college football just being honest I don’t know how many national Outlets would have had Georg in the top 10 there at that time so I guess at least by reputation it’s nice to seeing Georgia now getting a lot more credit because of how rockus the environment these fans are always creating and as you said ultimately it’s the winds that matter more than anything else and the fact that Georgia never loses at home is the kind of thing that probably is the most important of all but because of the performance and recent years of the fans something that Kirby Smart always gives dog Nation plenty of credit for you know because of that I guess I also enjoy the fact that Georgia is at least getting a little bit more credit in these types of discussions than they would have before because I do think the reputation of Georgia as a very tough place to play has certainly grown in recent years yeah I I agree you know and just looking recent you know you can kind of dig maybe a little further back you know to to the blackout game and and and whatnot but I think recently I really would really argue that the Notre Dame game put us on the map yeah uh as as a very harsh environment the night game um and then just just top of mind coming in next I think when when Arkansas came to town I believe that was a noon game and man you could just see the the pretty snap penalties and and the loud environment really made a very big difference in that game so those are just two games you know recent that come top of mind that uh that I really think U kind of put us in into that that top category and um kind of giv us the respect that that uh I think we deserve what was it like coming out of the tunnel there in 2019 obviously huge crowd first time ever for those like LED lights and that light show unique opponent obviously Notre Dame returning the trip that y’all had taken there in 2017 what was coming out of the tunnel like that night yeah night games are always fun um especially at home because quite frankly we just don’t get them uh that often so it’s a big deal uh Notre Dame was wanting to come back and and really try to get even with us from from one we we stole from them you know two years prior and um there was just so much Buzz around this game of of getting tickets finding places to stay um and uh you know like hey you know I just remember man that whole week just just buying and selling tickets proba not supposed to say this say it now I guess in I but all the buying and selling tickets that was that was going on uh in the in the locker room so uh um but yeah but anyway man there was just so much build up to that game and uh I just felt a lot of pressure on my shoulders like hey man there’s a lot talking about this game we better make sure we we focus in and dial in and win this football game U but uh man it was it was crazy the fourth quarter halftime show everything was was um I mean it was top tier and it was it was fun to watch and fun to be a part of So Yesterday Georgia got some bad news and recruiting although maybe not forever because it certainly seems like the recruitment remains open CJ Wally really good wide receiver chose State instead of UG and my question for you is on a couple of fronts I remember for your class of 2017 like you and Richard L I sort of viewed y all as I guess sort of the leaders of the class and that was probably one of the first times I became aware of like all the text threads and the communication that recruits were having with each other in kind of a private way my point is Wy yesterday made a decision that most people kind of viewed as a surprise going back to your time of knowing other recruits and knowing guys that was either going to go to Georgia or go elsewhere like how often for all of you in the time in which you were probably the most acquainted with recruiting did something happen where like wait he chose what that’s not what he said he was going to do like how often did that happen where a guy made a decision that even surprise some of the other recruits um you know what that that that always happened you know everybody has their reasons um and you know you just you just don’t know really know who has their ear like what what is that that you know that’s something they recruiting you know who who’s that person that’s in their year that that’s helping them guide that decision um and sometimes as us as recruits we just don’t have that have that information yeah um but then we also at the same time have probably more information than than than coaches and and the recruiting analist half so uh you never know I one guy that comes um to mind who I really thought we were going to get and I was kind of just pointed we didn’t was jacobe Stevens who went to LSU yeah um just I man thought we build a good relationship with him and and thought that uh that we were going to getting but um man that’s recruiting it happens and uh just from my experience with it I just I wouldn’t put too much much worry or concern on it man until and until it kind of gets down to crutch time because that’s that’s when everybody makes those those those those fourth quarter pushes and starts pressing there at the end and uh kind of gets you over the top so man I I would just say recruiting man it’s early obviously you want to establish a good a good presence and relationship early um but those those fourth quarter presses is where where it really happens when it comes jacobe Stevens I’m pretty sure this is going back obviously a good number of years so I guess now this can be told I’m pretty sure we shot a commitment video for him and we never got to use it so to give you an idea of how likely it was he going to Georgia I think we shot the video and then we had to put that thing in the archive bin after a while unfortunately the other thing that comes up here is the the relationship that Georgia has with wide receivers in particular as a quarterback you certainly have some understanding of this maybe it’s like the overall offensive stats are great and you know a guy like lad makoni just got a major payday and you know pretty clearly there’s a lot of offensive success and yet for some fans even with that there’s the question that lingers of well how come Georgia doesn’t win with more of kind of the elite receivers coming out of high school and the thought well if anybody’s going to make a weird decision about at least for now not going to Georgia while he may still end up being at ug but at least for now some fans would say well of course it’s going to be wide receiver because that’s sort of the position that it seems to always be what do you make of the relationship that Georgia has with wide receivers for some people it’s a little bit different than the dominance that it has shown in other position groups yeah that’s one that’s a tough one for me um I I think just the talent in the state it’s there you know why sometimes that um you know we’ve done it in the past you know with guys like AJ Green um but yeah um you know why you know George Pickins recently um why why sometimes I don’t exactly know but man you know I’m just I’m just throwing my my spill out there you know for for the recruits I mean why why why not the pr and the pudding uh we’re throwing the ball around right now and um there’s no reason to believe that that wouldn’t continue to be the case so um hey man if if you’re a guy who wants to catch the ball and let’s let’s go and let let’s see it happen we’ll let you go in a moment let you get back to the beach let me remind folks here just for a quick moment though this is our Kroger fresh take with Jake FR here on dog Nation daily here right now and of course listen you’re getting ready for the summer getting ready for the 4th of July you’re getting ready for your own beach trip everything you need to make all this great the stuff to go in the cooler the stuff to go on the grill the sunscreen to make sure you don’t get burn or all the other stuff that makes summertime fun so much more enjoyable you can get that at your local Kroger here right now in store online at kroger.com Fourth of July is coming up everybody’s enjoying as much fun in the sun as they can get and trying to stay as cool as they can with all this heat kroger.com to check out more of that Jake speaking of the State of Florida here for a moment let me squeeze in one more thing before we let you go we found out yesterday sort of an official thing that we kind of already expected big Stadium renovation coming to jackville looks like the Jaguars is going to stay there they’re not going to London or wherever and it looks like Georgia Florida is likely to kind of stay there for the Long Haul there as well um as someone who had some of your best moments in your Georgia career in the Georgia Florida game what do you make of a a renovated Stadium down there and perhaps a long-term commitment to keep this game the cocktail party in Jacksonville as well yeah I I mean I kind of put I try to take myself out of this one and see it from a lot of different angles uh from a player perspective I think it’s pretty neat uh to go and and play a different environment see it 5050 I think it’s a cool thing that Us in Florida have uh it’s a different kind of rivalry and um I think it’s just something that I always look forward to doing going down there playing I think from a fan perspective it allows different people to get to the game have a different experience um and it we’ve we’ve us and Florida have kind of made it our own the cocktail party it’s just a a unique experience that I think everybody circles and looks forward to going to uh from the coach’s perspective I know coach Smart’s hit on it you just you lose a recruiting opportunity because you’re not at your place yeah um and that that’s tough and you know you may lose out on a little bit of money um you know for your school not playing at home and and and that sort of thing so I I kind of see it from a lot of different you know perspectives uh but I I’m I on one hand I’m excited that it’s continue to stay because I love the tradition but on the other hand man I I think I would love would have loved to been able to to go down and play at uh benh Hill Griffin Stadium um and play down in the swamp and I think that would have been really neat and really cool so um you know and now that that George is getting some respect as a as a top tier uh place to play at home and a tough place to play at home I I think having that home field advantage against a good Florida team would always be nice so I’m conflicted but I I would say I I am leaning towards the group of I enjoy it being down in Jacksonville having the cocktail party because it is a a cool and neat experience that not many other places have well let you get back to enjoying the beach you mentioned being there on the gulf co uh Gul Coast you seen any sharks I heard they had a bunch of sharks in the Gulf Coast this summer have you seen any yet yeah that that is a a Hot Topic down here we are constantly looking haven’t seen it yet um I don’t think I’ll be going out to risk it anytime soon getting out there too deep but uh yeah I got my eyes open I’ll let you know if if anything pops up please do Jake thanks for being here as part of our ker fresh take today we certainly appreciate that Brandon thank you man good stuff there from Jake from enjoying a little beach time but also spending some time here with us now no beach in Las Vegas but there is plenty of sand and of course there is your chance to be in Las Vegas later on this fall there as well as the Atlanta Falcons head out that way uh and our friends at Atlanta Sports trips want you to be a part of that you can go to ATL Sports strips.com and talk about some ticket and Hospitality package to get Hollywood resort and casino right there on the Vegas Strip you get a welcome party a VIP Q&A with the former Falcon running back Jamal Anderson the originator of the Dirty Bird the dance that you may remember from the 1998 season and of course tickets to the game there as well for Falcons Raiders it’s December 16th they’re in Las Vegas so a little pre- Christmas trip out to Las Vegas certainly a fun thing to do over the course of a weekend so go to ATL sports.com to find out more about that that is ATL Sports strips.com so good stuff there from Jake from kind of enough to join us as he’s enjoying a little bit of beach time and of course speaking of your own Beach time be going to some beautiful beaches in April of 2025 how about on board Utopia of the Seas man what a fun announcement that was to be able to make here today now as we could say ready to say goodbye to you let’s do so in style with a golden shoe earlier this week we were happy to report that Charlie Condon the ug Slugger won the most prestigious award in college baseball it’s called the Golden spikes you see that trophy there on your screen eerily reminiscent of what we give away every day here that’s what caused our buddy Low Country dog to ride in sweep the leg Johnny he is on the xplatform says golden spikes is a great award but is it as prestigious he asks as a golden shoe sweep the leg Johnny it’s a very good question we’re obviously happy for Charlie Condon on that and you know what we’ll also give him a golden shoe on top of that there as well and you as one as well there you go that’s the original Golden Shoe right there how about that uh right there on the wall uh been here with us for a long time is the original Golden Shoe starting to look a little worse for where all it’s doing is been sitting there but I I guess after a while it starts to uh get a little bit weathered there it is so there you go low country dog that is the original Golden Shoe and in honor of Charlie Condon we’ll give one of those to him there too about 1327 days that’s how long it’s been since Florida has beaten Georgia uh and that number is going to keep on going up they got no golden shoes they got no gold of any kind certainly not in the way of a trophy case coming anytime soon that is our Gator hater updator youall have a great day we’ll see you back here tomorrow dog Nation daily presented by bra past management so and on video first of all but uh no joke about the Gulf Coast and the Sharks supposedly that’s a real thing that they’ve just been I guess all over the all over the place down there um I always appreciate the fact that you know 30A gets all the hype and stuff like that because there’s a not to say that I wouldn’t like that I’m sure I probably would but I’ve always just been more of an Atlantic Coast person when it comes to my beaches so I do enjoy the fact that all the uh you know everybody loves go going to the Gulf Coast it’s probably the most invogue collection of beaches right now so people are enjoying all of that and it kind of keeps them away from where I like to go to the beach but if the sharks are going to be that big of a deal then all of a sudden people might be shopping around for some new beaches but supposedly I mean supposedly the sharks like a real thing I don’t know uh sometimes that’s all hype but in this particular case I think it may be real uh so anyway we’ll get your comments here you can talk about CJ Wy if you’d like or anything else um let’s see what else uh Paul Moon says talking about asterisks in 20120 didn’t put an asterisk on the 2020 Championship season for Bama until Bama fans kept incessantly trolling and whining about a single injury so now from now on the 2020 has an as look here’s the thing Alabama winning a national championship seems like a legitimate accomplishment because of how frequently Alabama’s won national titles however when you see all of the other weird stuff that happened in that particular year A&M finished the top five Florida won the SEC East you know the BYU quarterback played his way like the top of the NFL draft a lot of things happened that year that had no staying power for future years so that’s the evidence that something about 2020 wasn’t quite a a normal year now for Alabama it’s just another one of the national championship they won Under Nick Sabin but let’s think about this for a moment let’s say that 2020 doesn’t occur just magically the year just disappears it doesn’t exist so from 2017 when Alabama legitimately came from behind to be Georgia the national championship a true accomplishment you’ve got 2018 Bama gets blown out by Clemson you’ve got 2019 lost at home to LSU you’ve got 2021 lost in the national championship sh to Georgia you’ve got 2022 nowhere to be found in the college football playoff and you’ve got this past year obviously you know falling short after you know getting beaten up by Michigan that if not for the pandemic year of 2020 the final 18 19 21 22 2 the final five years of Nick Sabin if not for 2020 are not looking too good right or at least they’re not at the same Championship standard uh so 2020 doing a lot of work work for the final sort of half decade or so of Nick sabin’s coaching tenure Jonathan says we you start a hashtag that says hash ug Mark save from making up natties which is very funny obviously Alabama has done plenty of that um nature Gator says black tips and bull sharks will swim in Shallow Waters black tips aren’t too dangerous Bulls are so uh one time I just kind of chilling out uh on the beach and like if I had my way like I’d just like sit on the beach and kind of read and perhaps have a little bit of a cooler or something like that and just hang out all day long listen to a little bit of music um I just do that all day long I just I love that so I just this is kind of like pre kids so I’m just like sitting there and just like really just soaking up a good day at the beach and there was this dude few steps over for me had one of those big uh you know saltwater rods uh and he was fishing all day long by the way there is like somebody just I don’t even know what feels like the roofs cave in above us um hopefully you can’t hear that but it’s uh gosh the point is there’s this guy sitting next standing next to him and he’s got this like saltwater Rod he’s just fishing all day long just kind of you know not not too stressed about just kind of just hanging out just sort of that was he was doing his thing I was doing mine so after many many hours kind of being out there eventually he reels in a shark and you it’s not a big shark but you realize in those Waters just a few steps from where I was there’s sharks swimming around all over the place you know the ocean is sort of Monster Soup and like my son my daughter a little bit likes it my son loves playing the ocean so it’s one of those deals of I’m not going to miss that time with him so I’m GNA I’m going to risk getting bitten by shark to go out there and you know have that fun with him because it’s you know fun enough that it’s worth it’s worth the risk but uh I mean there are there is some stuff in the ocean uh I told you the other day you know of all the weird things the thing I come the closest to believing is like a Loch Ness monster something like that because I believe there are I believe there are some creatures in the ocean that we had come close to identifying I believe that’s probably the case um Skully ready says this is a little bit hard for me to decipher it’s not not quite conventional English but um Georgia talk like the best B all these years and hav it mean you number two right now not number one oh quite I think what Scully is saying is somehow Alabama is still better than Georgia and I would say that if that’s true then you’ve got nothing to worry about and that’s ultimately my my response to that if if as you say it um uh that Georgia has not best Bama um and that you still number two not number one then then you’re then you’re then you’re good you’re all taken care of you got nothing to worry about you got nothing you got nothing to worry about um let’s see what else Paul Moon says the deep sea is the Last Frontier really seems like every time I read about deep sea Expedition they found like 200 new species totally agree like there is crazy like we have identified crazy stuff in the ocean crazy stuff um and that I think there’s other stuff that’s that’s even crazier here’s the other thing too and obviously we kind of joke around about you know sort of weird topics sometimes like I am not a UFO person I’m not but I think one of the most interesting UFO theories is that the UFOs are coming from the ocean uh like I said I don’t I don’t believe that I don’t believe that but of all these sort of unexplained phenomenon theories about like these objects that you know the pilots say they see and stuff like that the theory that I find the most interesting is they’re coming from out of the ocean um which I don’t know like I said before I don’t believe that I I I don’t believe UFOs things like that but I do think that’s I think if you’re going to have sort of an out there theory about UFOs you should have the most out there Theory possible and um uh the fact they’re coming out of the ocean is the best one I believe um let’s see what else uh Mike says a Gator fan and a b fan ending up together in a Georgia PLT yeah I always like it when like the B people and the and the Florida people kind of like form their own sort of axes of evil together and start like trying to like battle against the Georgia fans which I always think is fun [Music] um all right let me go to ad dog.com here we’ll come back to YouTube um uh duall dog uh on the subject of the dog Nation Cruise Duvall we’d love to love to see you there uh can’t wait to have you there hopefully and I’m telling you right now Utopia the city is going to be awesome I was so happy about this this is one of those deals where you know we start talking um you you know right when the other cruise is over about the next cruise and I’m sort of pushing for us to be on utopian as I said before you know the problem with Utopia is as a brand new ship like Royal kiban really is red hot right now and uh these brand new ships are just they’re just being booked solid from the word go so I think the question was could we even secure enough rooms because it takes a few hundred staterooms to sort of handle a dog Nation Cruise you know could would they even have the inventory for us on something like this and so it’s all working out I’m really really excited about it I I just I’m thrilled thrilled um uh Randy Al says who’s more dominant is it Scotty Sheffer and GF for Max for stapen uh and F1 so I know Max a little bit um obviously I know a handful of F1 guys Max and Lewis Hamilton um I can’t really speak to uh the over sto and uh dominance too much because I don’t know that brand of racing quite as well I think what Scotty Sheffer is doing in golf is beyond remarkable and I know these kinds of comparisons always fall flat but we haven’t seen anything like this since Tiger Woods like the guy is a threat to win every week he had the brief period of time in which he was facing felony charges that seemed like he fell off his game for a minute then he went right back to winning again like he has had a career this year um and I don’t know that he’s ever going to properly get all the credit for this because he’s obviously not the most you know outrageous personality or there’s nothing about him that you know stands out plus you know you there just may not be much of an extra motivation to kind of make a big thing out of him because he’s just not edgy he’s you know he’s he’s family man he’s into his faith he’s into these kinds of things that doesn’t always earn you a lot of extra attention from the media and so it could be that he never quite gets the the attention you think that he might but like I said I can’t speak to what Max is doing an F1 quite as much because I’m only sort of loosely aware of that as a sport I know just enough to be dangerous um but I love golf and golf is very very hard and no one should be winning at the clip at which Scotty Sheffer is winning it’s like I mean his absolute worst performance is like T3 like I mean that’s it’s insane insane um Jacob yo says I worry that people are going to start morning to see Scotty win major tournaments outside the masters of course yeah yeah come on um let’s see what else a senior dog 54 says that NBC is doing a poor job with their coverage of the Olympic trials and track and field insist on giving all the field event results in metrics and they have Snoop Dogg as an analyst is that really what they’re doing now uh I’ve told y’all before I I can only like what I like and I can’t pretend to like anything that I don’t and I don’t care much about the Olympics I just don’t uh and I’m not disrespectful anybody who does but the Olympics is not my cup of tea at all um I can’t imagine it would be a little bit frustrating if you do like one of these events and they’re just not covering it they’re you know they’re giving you the metric system they’re giving you you know celebrities I would imagine that would get a little frustrating yeah now I don’t know that I’m here as our producer Jay said Snoop Dog analy Steeple Chase and things like that it’s a little bit like the uh watch the Kentucky Derby you know they got every kind of celebrity on there uh and I mean it’s like 99.99% of the coverage of the Kentucky Derby is about something other than the actual race which think about it I mean there are people who’ve got big dollars bet on this horse race which you can say they maybe shouldn’t do but nonetheless somebody’s got his mortgage on the line on this horse race and all you got is 18 hours of fashion talk uh I would imagine that probably gets a little frustrating for the people who heavily invested in that event there too um Randy Hall asking about some updates on some names from the past I don’t really have anything on that um when it comes to the Anderson thing there was a report on that a few months ago um and I don’t know like I just don’t remember that that but something came out about that I just don’t remember what it was as far as you know some of the other guys that were once at Georgia I really don’t have anything new to offer on that I’m not afraid to talk about I just don’t know I just don’t know um let’s see what else we got Shane holiday and Duvall dog and here talking about the crew Shane thanks for uh for uh helping us out with that I appreciate that thank you so much uh Shane’s a good guy uh let’s see what else um uh Randy H about Shamari orals Scott Harris uh says um I would rather you pick another school if you aren’t 100% committed to ug I get where Scott’s coming from on this and it’s obviously a fairly common sentiment but let me give you a different way to think about this let me give you a reframe if you don’t mind Georgia asks a lot from its players I therefore have no problem with a ler saying I’m not sure I want this because to me that lack of certainty sometimes suggests someone who’s actually taking the decision-making process a little bit more seriously um it’s sort of like you know if you’re a salesperson you start getting objections that you know if you’re trying to S whatever you know when somebody starts pushing back on you normally that should be viewed as a good thing because if you’re giving those objections that means you’re actually considering this as an option and so therefore that should be a positive sign for salesperson if you’re in sales you kind of understand that um I would say the same thing’s kind of true for Georgia which is hey if you’re not sure you want it at ug that means you may be taking the full effort to properly consider what you’re actually getting yourself into um and I think that’s that’s what you should do sometimes the guy who’s really really sure that he wants it just hasn’t properly counted the cost of what he’s going to be asked to do also I have a high level of forgiveness and Grace for those who are just having a hard time making a decision you know it’s like so- and so’s promising me this and so and so saying this I think that sifting through that’s not all that easy to do so um I don’t have any issue with uncertain recruits I really don’t um I also as I pointed out many times I have a fairly high tolerance for recruiting drama and I’m gonna be honest with you and this may not sit well necessarily um I’m not glad that CJ Wy did what he did yesterday as a Georgia fan of course I wouldn’t be it was kind of entertaining it surprise um it would have been better for me if he would have chosen Georgia but it’s kind of interesting you know it’s like it’s like I was sitting here you know just waiting for him to say ug so we could kind of do the interview and you know provide the content that we were you know sort of tasked with providing and then all of a sudden he’s like putting the floor State head on I look up from the screen what what what what’s this I mean you know I mean I was kind of entertained by that yesterday I think there’s very good chance he eventually comes to Georgia um so and I’m not trying to like be flipping about this I’m really not but I don’t really mind recruits that haven’t made up their mind because I think it’s a tough decision to make and I think that being certain as as certain as you can is probably a good thing and if a recruit wants to kind of Ratchet up the drama a little bit I’m okay with that as I’ve said before I have a pretty high tolerance for drama pre Signing Day and once you sign I want you to get back to the business of football but I don’t mind these guys having a little bit of fun I not really sure that’s what w did yesterday I just think he sort of felt like doing it that’s I mean to me this sort of remind me a little bit of the Derek Cooper thing the other day the 2026 recruit [Music] um but yeah uh I don’t know I just think that yesterday was was just one of those things that happened and it’s and it’s one of many events to occur in the recruitment of CJ Wally overall cuz I mean I talked to some people in Tallahassee when uh KJ Balin did his thing a year ago I can promise you this there was nobody hanging the mission accomplished Banner when C when KJ Bolton committed a year ago there was no mission accomplished being hung when it comes to that um and I and I got that pretty directly and obviously they thought they had a chance to win but there was very little spiking of the football in Tallahassee from people who know when it comes to that um Miriam Corbin says I think yesterday was a joke he’s not really committed to Florida State I mean if I was a Florida State fan this idea of yeah I mean I’m committed for now we’ll see what happens you know I ain’t signed anything like I’m not exactly sure I’m taking that to the bank in terms of we got him uh I think I’m kind of with you on that mam it did not see like the most forceful commitment of all time Bill Sanders shouting out Brogan is the best lunchbot in St Simons man I like Brogan’s I mean but you know uh uh what’s my barbecue place there um right right uh uh why am I blanking is that uh what’s the name that barbecue place one one that has all the license plates um that’s the best lunch in St Simons right is broen’s really the best lunch in St Simons um why am I blanking on the name of that barbecue spot somebody’s gonna tell me right uh um what I’m telling you every now and then they just the brain just is not fire um let’s see what else uh by the way David Wayne carols in here talking about Dusty roads which for any reason is always a welcome thing for me um let’s see what else Al Chandler mentioned the tour to FR I’m always amazed by all the different things people are in into Al mentioned the tour to FR he says the lead of athletes ride over 100 miles a day in mountains at an average of 30 m per hour I do love the Mountain Stage of the tour to fronts and I say love I mean it’s too strong for it I think I think the mountain stages are interesting uh Southern Soul Barbecue thank you very much Cody Chavin I’ve eaten it there a million times I don’t know why my mind just completely blanked on their name Southern Soul Barbecue is got to be best lunch in St Simons right it’s got to be broin is fun I think if Brogan is more of a when I think of brogens I think of liquid more so than food I guess uh um Dusty also Joseph Kenny mentioned Dusty rhods could play basketball yeah there’s like there’s video out there of Dusty roads playing basketball one of these like sort of celebrity games or whatever um by the way uh and also uh Kevin S uh Sera gave me the the Southern Soul here too I’m telling you my brain sometimes just does not work uh does not work Matt rukavina says when y’all come to Austin for this trip Salt Lake barbecue is the one yall need to try a little bit outside the city limits of Austin but worth it you got the other uh super famous barbecue place out there in Austin that Joyce here and I’m blanking on that name too maybe my brain just needs a break today or something um uh is it Franklin’s think it’s Franklin’s Barbecue right Matt the one Franklin’s also the one that’s like super famous out there but I I’ll keep Salt Lick in mine because I definitely want some good barbecue definitely want that and there was a time when I was like super against brisket because I always sort of felt like that southern barbecue was pork and like you know Texans who I’ve always found it be a little bit weird no disrespect to Matt um their barbecue was brisket but now I mean like if you have some good brisket I mean you gota you can’t deny it’s pretty good so I’m now Pro brisket because who wouldn’t be uh Jacob yor also gave me the Southern Soul yeah I’m sorry uh about that Randy Hall wonders where Randy from tiffon is yeah you know you know Randy from Tiff will be on that dog Nation Cruise uh there’s no doubt about that all right we got a lot going on in this studio so let me do a today I mean so let me do a couple more things we’ll get out of the way here stick D’s predicts CJ Wally signs with George in December I believe that’d be my prediction as well um Lance D says the absolute Holy Grail of barbecue joints is in lockart he says uh he says blacks CRS meat uh Market uh just name a few that’s good to know uh um David Jackson says it’s hot today boy it really is it really is Neil says she literally almost died on barbecue here’s the thing you got to die doing something so why not die doing something you love if I if I go out eating barbecue now I don’t want it to happen tomorrow but if I go out eating barbecue at least they can say he did he died doing what he loved um I I think it’d be fun to do like because I’m seeing all kinds of barbecue recommendations a barbecue tour would be pretty fun that’d be pretty fun I know a lot of people do that like and people drive you know 100 miles you know go eat a good barbecue place or what they think is a good barbecue place I think that I don’t want to get too deep into this I think that barbecue has been kind of taken over a little bit by like I like the barbecue restaurant that don’t get written about in like Garden and Gun and Southern Living places like that like there’s there’s sort of a media culture around barbecue right now that I I just can’t kind of get with it’s like it’s become a little bit of a hipster thing a little bit and I don’t like that very much um you know I like barbecue restaurants that nobody’s ever heard of or that that don’t get written up in magazines um just there’s a certain kind of like Prestige barbecue that I can’t quite do I just gets on my nerves uh and that’s probably my fault that’s not anybody else’s fault but it’s like you know once there’s like once we try to put a cool Factor on barbecue and it’s sort of like you know edgy musician you know it’s like I I don’t want that I I I don’t want that and that’s my hangup you know like once barbecue has been written about in a magazine or once it shows up on Instagram it’s like I I I don’t want instagrammable barbecue I want like family Homespun barbecue that cool people don’t go to that’s what I want to do um but as I said before that’s probably my issue um eastbound dog says he’s living the gust area his entire life he says scur is good if I’m pronouncing that correctly that’s good to know um Jonathan Aon says how about where are they now program that would be really fun to kind of look back at small dogs that’d be fun uh skull fly says Twin Oak barbecue in Brunswick give that a try that sounds good good um yeah really really good stuff really really yeah all kinds of good recommendations all right last trip around the comment sections Facebook one more time I Doug rer says uh Mission Barbecue veteran home plays the national anthem at noon see I like stuff like that it’s like the there’s the one place up in uh Buford that you know like instead of giving you a table marker they give you a picture of a wrestler uh and that’s how they know what table you are I kind of like that playing the national anthem at noon I don’t mind you having a gimmick um because you know so you know I don’t necessar want you to be like hipster cool Instagram barbecue but sort of like we have this quirky thing that we do you know I’m all about that so if you want to play the national anthem if you want to have you know pro wrestler table markers you know you know barbecue joints usually have something about them that’s just a little bit different if you want to do that that’s all good um I shall get me hungry now all right uh Randy Hall says do we get Tyler Williams today I think so um I think that’s sort of the thought that perhaps that’s the case assuming it actually is a commitment announcement I believe there’s a thought that might be the case so we shall see we shall see busy week for Georgia recruiting perhaps continues all right we are going to go for now uh thanks for your uh opinions and everything else um I also think by the way uh somebody was mentioning um Alco says if they don’t have an active smoker out back and a screened in lean to keep driving yeah that’s kind of The Telltale sign and is it amazing right it’s like you smell that smoke that there’s just like this visceral thing that happens I mean it is a biological response uh when you smell that I love it I also think that you know the ability for people to cook barbecue at home because of how you know like a lot of these whether it be the big green egg or the pellet smokers things like that I mean the ability to cook this stuff at home is also really improved now I’m not very good at that um but uh some people are it’s kind of fun to see how that’s kind of grown all right we are going to go y’all check out RS Andrews online RS andrews.com somebody mentioned it was very very hot and it is very very hot so go ahead and get your AC unit tuned up because it make a big difference you know you get that thing humming the way that it could you know because you got that deal especially upstairs where uh you know the heat outside the air conditioning inside they have this constant battle going on usually if you got enough Windows things like that the Heat’s going to win that it just gets hot on the inside of your house but if you’re tuned back up to factory fresh specs that doesn’t have to be the case so find RS Andrews online at RS andrews.com for a lot more on that all right y’all have a great day we’ll see you back here tomorrow dog Nation daily presented by braa pass manager look forward to talking to you then

Let WILEY & FSU DO HIS OWN MEDIA . WE NEED TO SEND THEM A INVOICE FOR THE COST .
MOONIES IN FLOWERY BRANCH
Why commit then? SMH 🙄
Why do committments matter anymore cause they really shouldn't. When they are free to change their minds at will and can basically transfer every year if they wish, it seems pointless to make any big feal over something so worthless
Landen Thomas stuck.
Idk if Wiley ends up at Georgia but I’d bet anything he doesn’t end up at Florida State. Everything he said yesterday says I’m not going to play here.
What about Atlanta Bama beats your Ass there everytime!
He wants more money. 4 stars are good but not good enough for 5 star money. FSU was like a high school team when we skull drug them.
Don't get me wrong I think the world of Jake Fromm, but Jake beats around every question he's asked, he knows why we don't get the receivers, he knows the correct answer to nearly any question that he's asked but he never and I mean almost never ever answers the question directly it's like he's scared of pissing Kirby off hey if that be the case then let's give Jacob a break and get someone on here that will answer the questions truthfully
"My recruitment is still open" … what a solid commitment
The most likely usual suspect is NOT Ohio State. It's Alabama! WTF is going on with our collective memory in this fan base? Who dafuq is Ohio State?! It's not Ohio State whipping our ass every damn year; it's Bama! And they'll do it again if we don't start remembering it. F Ohio F'n State!
Our second round WRs can get first round money and more…See Ladd.
War eagle 🦅 bit respect deep south's oldest rivalry will be back!!!
I think NIL is turning into I’ve committed now let the 2nd round of bidding begin.
