okay everybody let’s welcome three of the range goats we are joined by Bubba Watson the captain of range goats GC Matt wolf and Peter U line there you go you got it nailed it took three years only took three years uh welcome guys you are all playing absolutely incredible Pete you shot five under today Matt and Bubba you guys both shot four under and the range goats are in the lead at 13 under tell us a little bit about your day we’ll start with you bubba oh it was a good day you know ball striking is key around here and I thought I I I hit the ball really nicely all day um one three putt um but other than that it was a it was a great day and the whole thing was about getting the ball around the golf course puts we’ll figure out later but getting the ball somewhat in the Fairway and somewhat on the green so you can um have a chance to score have a good day Matt yeah I mean it’s it’s a definitely a ball Striker course I mean the greens were fast and um you know it wasn’t easy to make putts but yeah getting the ball in play is the biggest thing a lot of water out there but I hit it really good and I was uh I was felt like I had a lot of control on my ball so hopefully I can just keep it rolling and Pete yeah solid played solid um other than one hiccup on 18 played really really well puted nice and um just kind of felt like I was just kind of plotting my way around there which was good and um wedged it close few times and took advantage of uh holes that I had when I had the opportunity so it was nice with it being such a demanding Golf Course do you guys have a strategy going into the next two days or is it just doing what you did today Matt try to beat them too yeah I mean I think it’s just kind of the same thing as today there’s not much game plan to this course to be honest it’s a lot of drivers and then just if you can figure out how to get the ball in the Fairway then you’re you know you might have some looks but um you know off the tea is really important but yeah I mean we uh we did pretty well today and even Thomas came in with an even part round which around this place is no joke so I mean you know we’re all we’re all in a good spot so we’re just I mean I think we’re just looking to keep it and babba I got to say we’re heading into Master’s week and you’re at the top of the leaderboard I think some of us are getting a little excited about your form going into next week how are you feeling after this round out here today I feel good um just got to work on the putting a little bit um trying on that grinding on that but um the ball striking has been there and now I feel like I’m getting stronger my leg’s getting stronger I can um hit shots that I want to hit today I I did that I hit some shots that I wanted to hit trying some shots um and they they worked out in my favor so it was it was a good way to U start today start the week and Pete with such a crowded leaderboard at the top what do you have to do to kind of break away tomorrow um probably kind of just the same stuff I’ve been doing um just take advantage of times that I’m in the Fairway with wedges and wholesome putts and um yeah I mean just kind of stick to stick to what I do really well and um hopefully just keep capitalizing on opportunities and Bubba I know you guys launched um goats give back this week so you got guys as I understand it are donating a goat to a community of Need for every team that you beat this week so you guys are currently no every week every week but starting this week this week yes so right now right now you have to donate 11 goats well 12 oh 12 oh my God John R he’s John ROM has a team that’s right 12 12 goats exactly can you tell us a little bit about this partnership and what it means to you yeah Convoy of Hope um great organization been around give or take 30 years um and you know you’re researching what do you want to do and how do you want to impact a community and and the world um they give the goats outside the US and so for us being the range goats it just it made sense I’ve done some stuff with them before uh in the US but now being able to help some people outside the US and around the world I thought it was cool and I think these guys um enjoyed it too because you know you’re talking about nutrition you’re talking about uh families um being able to farm you know having them goat milk but then be able to farm and then be able to give back when you have two goats and you breed them then the next community over they have to bless the other community other Village and so it’s it’s a it’s you’re giving but then they’re able to give as well so it’s a it’s a cool thing that we’re part of and who doesn’t want to give away a goat you know so as strange as it might sound as you guys are leaderboard watching this weekend on the team leaderboard are you going to be thinking about all the goats you’re giving away is that a motivating fact they might not but I will be for sure I got to keep keep my mind occupied on something else thanks guys I’ll kick it over to Mike so Bubba you’ve got three seconds here and a third uh what is it about this course that you like and did you come into this week with with confidence knowing that you play well here well I mean I think any golfer here has confidence right you got to you got to trust yourself and and I was playing well I haven’t been able to score I haven’t been making the putts close to dead last and putting and so ball striking has always been there it’s always going to be there uh um and around this place you have to you have to just put the ball in play it doesn’t matter if it’s in the rough or what you’ve got to put it in play where you have an angle to the green um and I’m able to do that I was able to do that the last uh few times I’ve played around here and so I’m just going to try to keep that same thing going and um try to out ball strike everybody is that why you changed your putter this week you have a new putter in the back yeah I met with a a putting Guy and um he said you won 13 times with uh with this style putter why are you not using that one I said cuz I was trying to sell other but nobody’s buying what I’m using and uh Pete Matt obviously you guys played well in Vegas you kind of fed off each other even though you didn’t play in the same group today can you still feed off each other when you’re looking at the the leaderboard knowing that you know each other is doing well I feel like every time I kind of caught up to him he was like close to the hole so I assumed he was hitting it pretty close I don’t know if it was if they were for birdie or from far but every time they were they were close so um yeah you can kind of you can a little bit but um at the same time this course is so demanding I mean we had like a 680 yard par five into the win like it was just so long like so you couldn’t really like lose focus and and lose sight of what you’re trying to do so yeah yeah I mean um you know I think we’re I’m just trying to focus on like my game and um you know what I have ahead of me and stuff like that but no doubt I mean I look up there and see Bubba and and Peter and um the range goats up at the top and you know I wouldn’t say you know we’re feeding off of each other but I would say when the rest of your team’s playing well and kind of motivates you to want to play a little bit better you know have that little extra push but um I mean I these guys are awesome and great players and I want them to play well but there’s no doubt I want to beat them as well so I mean I think that there’s that motivation but you know I’m happy that they played well I’m happy that we played well but you know I think at the end of the day we’re all trying to just play the game that we can play and that’s going to benefit the team the most but it’s also going to benefit us individually so and and is it any surprise that three of the longest hitters out here are doing well in a course at 7700 yards it’s no surprise no not at all I mean isn’t is ROM leading who’s leading Sergio Sergio okay Taylor oh okay yeah well yeah yeah I mean longer hitters Tom Gorman from Pro Golf weekly I wanted to ask you all three of you have been on the pod experience on Sunday so Bubba do you any do any motivational talk during the week like I want to be on that Podium Sunday or anything to sort of jack up the team to get you on that Podium Sunday night no you I mean you don’t have to you don’t have to fire these guys up I me these guys are all trying to get on there they’re trying to first of all they’re trying to win right and then it’s it’s not fun um being up there all by yourself so you want your team there and so I think we all have that motivation I I you know I’m kind of speaking for them but I think they we all want to be up there we want our our team to be up there we want our buddies to be up there and we want to uh if you’re trying to win the golf tournament and you’re playing well you’re going to help the team so I think that’s just motivation itself to play good so you can get up there or have a chance to get up there I’m going to put in a request to broadcast have a goat counter on the broadcast we can be following along how many goats you guys are giving back perfect let’s do it yeah I think that’s a great idea right yeah be cool great well good
