Narrated by Zeljko ‘Spider’ Kalac

G’day I’m Zeljko Kalac but you might know me as Spider. Did you know England have never won the Euros? I’m here to tell you about the man trying to change all that. Who is That? Harry Kane. Most English folk would agree Kane is the most popular Harry in the land these days. Kane grew up in East London and admits he got his athletic ability from mum. Harry’s first football foray was with Ridgeway Rovers which also happened to be David Beckham’s first club many years earlier. Kane’s family were all Spurs fans and that’s where he got the start to his senior career. But his early style of play didn’t initially stand out and Harry bounced around England from club to club on loan. A growth spurt and desire to improve his skills eventually saw him crack the first team at Tottenham in 2014 and boy did he crack it equalling a club record for goals in a season. Kane won the Golden Boot the next two seasons and was now established as one of the greatest goalscorers in the world. Harry even won the Golden Boot at the 2018 World Cup in Russia but my Croatian brothers knocked out the English in the semifinals. The individual accolades and goalscoring were great but his teams just couldn’t win the trophies. Tottenham regularly finishing in the top five of the Premier League. The closest Spurs came to winning a big title was the Champions League final in 2019, but Liverpool got the chocolates on that day. Harry looked like he would lead England to glory at home in the 2020 Euros at Wembley. But as always seems to be the case The Three Lions lost on penalties to the Italians. Kane is the leading England scorer of all-time and second best in Premier League history. But now he’s moved to Germany for his club football to try and win the elusive trophy at Bayern Munich. But so far no luck. Harry loves his NFL and says he might even move to the US to finish his sporting career as a field goal kicker. But before that he wants to captain England to its first European title ever this summer in Germany. Can they bring it home? I sure hope not. I’m Croatian But they have to be considered one of the favourites. What do you think?
