so I think most of us have it in our heads we want to be able to stand up and put that lovely silky looking swing on it that’s effortless that gives us good accuracy good distance I just feels like something we should be able to repeat every single time but far too often golfers that I see and you might be one of these that I don’t see that stand up there they hit a shot Everything feels quick rushed could you try again and even my watch there saying I should try again um that we just really really struggle with our Rhythm and our Tempo and I think for me it’s important for golfers to understand first of all why they Rush their swing so when I watch most golfers make a practice swing however the style looks it looks like they’ve got lots and lots of time to get that club back and nothing looks hurried or overly quick now what I would say is I don’t think most golfers are swinging too fast when they’re hitting these shots I think it’s just that the timing’s out and everything feels like there’s not enough time to happen at impact so the first thing you’ll say is most golfers stand up there make that practice swing and it feels great but then when it hit the shot the swing feels different looks different and obviously produces maybe a very inconsistent shot now what is the major reason for that change but it’s all about the golf ball isn’t it so when you’re making that practice swing you’re just focused on swinging that club or whatever swing thought it is that you’ve got working on currently but when you go to the ball we get there our eyes lock onto the golf ball as we’re getting back we’re so Keen to get it hit everything tightens up we come to impact we lose that strike lose that speed and get a very very I’ll say poor result rather than consistent result cuz a lot of golfers will say they’re very consistent just not the type of consistency they’re looking for so I always think a great way initially of just distracting you from the golf ball is think about that club head just making that nice full circle around your body so half circle back full circle round and don’t worry too much about the speed you do in it just get that club draw in that Circle and even if you were to stand into the golf ball and then make that swing half Circle back full circle through straight away you generally see a pretty good result and we can see on track man there 862 mph Club speed low point2 and 1 half in behind so my clubs travel down 3° and I’ve carried the ball 166 yards but that felt effortless cuz there was no need for me to put effort into the goal swing because I’m thinking about trying to get that club making that Sur Circle not trying to hit the ball get the ball in the air make it go straight for most of you out there try to make the ball go further or even trying to hit it out the middle of the club just making my swing and letting the golf ball get in the way remember golf should be incredibly simple shouldn’t it that ball is stationary so won’t move until that club hits the ball so it’s very different to a lot of Ball Sports where the ball’s moving and that becomes reactionary so hopefully you’re working through the video with me and I’m I’m sure 90% of you just think about that club making that Circle straight away you’ll hit a better shot but if you maybe need to get a bit of a feel for how the swing should flow a great one is then just to make a few swings continuously back and forward and what you’ll start getting a feel for when you do that is almost how the club itself stops for a split second even though the body started to unwind and a great drill that I used to do an awful lot of as a kid maybe not so much nowadays is maybe get three four golf balls in a line we’re going to do the practice ring and then just step in and hit the shot and it really makes you feel like you’ve got lots and lots of time hitting the shots so great strike great [Music] strike great strike and it’s amazing how when you do that you get that feel for rhythm cuz you just focused on trying to make good movements and allowing that golf ball to get in the way so it might be and this could be a good one for a lot of golfers have that practice swing and then literally quickly get that club head into the bo make that swing and even if it’s not perfect that one was a little out the toe start to see more cled speed low Point still ahead clubs traveled down and that one’s actually ended up carrying a little bit further at 182 but I definitely think it’s when people feel rushed it’s not so much always this bit that they feel rushed it’s when they’re going from top of the back swing into the down swing a lot of people say they don’t feel they’ve actually completed the back swing that’s the case let’s get that club all the way to the top even though the club feels like it’s stopping the body’s already starting down that’s going to get that sequence in right from ground up through your body into the club and it does feel remarkably easy definitely feels much less effort into the GOL swing much less rushed and just feels like you’ve got lots and lots of time to get that Golf Club back on the ball so like I said I love that thing about just back and forwards cuz even though it feels like I’m putting nothing in definitely feels that club heads moving nice and quickly at the bottom I can set up Put That Swing on it and again another one straight at the target with decent Club heads speed clubs travel down so I’m not trying to get the ball in the a letting the LOF of the club do the work and that one carrying 171 yards now here’s the biggest danger though I think when we make a few swings that feel not rushed and effortless there’s that little voice inside the head isn’t there going that felt easy surely if I put a bit more in well therefore there should be more out and that’s that one where we get up to the golf ball try and hit the ball hard and even though the strikes been good I felt very tight and tense at impact there was a little bit more Club head speed there at 89.6 club’s traveled down but it’s actually wider and a bit shorter because as I’ve tightened up a impact I’ve left that club face a little bit open that one’s drifted out to the the right so comment below and let me know when you feel rushed what is your bad shot is it that you top it do you thin it do you fat it do you slice it you know do work through this video once or twice even on the Range get that feel for being effortless with that swing giving yourself what feels like tons of time to just get that club back on the golf ball the ball gets collected at the bottom and even though that was effortless nearly 89 mph Club head speed clubs travel down 2° pretty accurate and 172 carry now remember I make these videos to help you golfers out there improve your games so please comment below and let me know which part of your games you struggle with you know what would you like to see more videos of from me do you enjoy the stuff in the studio with track mancy get to see actually what’s changed with the swing not just the fact that the ball’s done something different would you rather see more stuff out in the golf course with less Tech and more in the true environment or do you want to see more short game do you want to see me play a little bit let’s not have too many comments for that one but for today’s video if you feel you’re rushing that swing and everything’s tight doesn’t feel good and doesn’t work make that club nice full circle around your body maybe feel that that club just stops momentarily at the top and if you can stand up there and put that swing on it you are going to hit lots and lots of good shots and rushing your swing will definitely be a thing of the past

Keep this going. Pretty unique content and valuable
This is one of the biggest problems I have. I use a speed monitor. I am trying to increase my clubhead speed. Without a ball in front of me I can get mid 80s mph or higher clubhead speed with the 7 iron. With the ball there I struggle to get 75 mph. I can't turn off that voice in my head telling me I need to make strike adjustments at impact, which slows my swing. I'll try the multiple ball drill you demonstrated.
