just have fun yeah it’s we’ve been doing this a while now have you guys a pod for a little while uh we just started one um okay um are we going now we can go now okay yeah you going to do an intro or no sure yeah this is uh this is going to be episode number 190 something episode 190 something we’re uh we just um it’s the week of the Canadian open so a couple days ago we were here with Cam kellet his brother and we’re back at ctown Woods Jerry’s fresh off the course it was uh it was a little wet it’s Sunday of the Canadian open so we’ll do quick one here for you guys and then we’ll get right over the course we can watch the uh watch the open Watch The Open Mat hes is Inc contention so hopefully when you see this one day um in the very near future he’s a canadi champion that’ be wild wouldn’t that’ be something so Bobby Mac fellow Lefty is is up on top right now but um we’re here Jerry car there we go man hey Jerry thanks for joining us hey you know what this has been uh just a great time hanging out and uh I’m kind of new to the h Hamilton area and and this whole area is just beautiful we actually played some golf around here and uh and the course itself is is pretty incredible I mean yeah the open’s had a an incredible Golf Course right so Hamilton’s hard to beat it’s it’s there’s so much history with Rory winning there you know in 2019 and they’ve just done um some bunker Renovations and whatnot you can check that out on beyond the Contour friends of ours Drew Harvey kind of goes into deep detail Deep dive into like all the Reconstruction of the and isn’t it unbelievable that the bunkering the bunkering actually reminds me a lot um of Royal Port rush and some courses in in Ireland I mean it really does it’s got that look with the the tall grasses going around it and how they actually have a little bit of rough around the bunkers you know yeah so they build it up and then you step in like I saw sah the gala like he was in between two of them on I think it was like number seven or something and his St was like it was insane was like two he was like two feet down he’s a tall guy too you SE him on R he’s a tall guy yeah but um I watched it on eight on eight somebody I can’t remember who was in The Bunker on eight and he had that you know he wide open there and just you know he had to play a big flop shot you know one foot in one foot out Tommy Fleetwood hit a really good one out on again the whole escaping me but it was just like they were saying like if he where the pin was it wasn’t a sucker it’s just like where the pin was if he hits it you know a foot past the pin it’s off the front edge of the green and so the great thing is I think everybody anticipated that there would be some runaway scores and I think Hamilton has actually showed more defense than maybe we expected which has been really good um but let’s hop in Jared talk about the guests can we say who the uh who the guest is here give us a bit of an intro all right um we met on I think it was Monday night were here it was Monday night I think yeah you were here um and we kind of got chatting and I know you guys were doing a podcast here so the your podcast I’m going to link that in the show notes below anybody wants to check out just go down below Jerry’s and stuff will be there but can you give us an intro of kind of who you are for anybody who doesn’t know you I think by the sounds of what’s going on at the course I think everybody knows you I think everybody knows Jerry but just in case they don’t well you know I um I started doing uh social media last August okay and um just uh you know I had retired in in July and um prior to that you guys uh just everybody knows I did Caddy uh when I was younger and then uh kind of looked at that and went you know I’m going to take a different Avenue and I did a bunch of other things and some other businesses that I did and just had some fun anything I’ve ever done has been fun so it’s just kind of a my gig I guess if you want to call it that and uh my kids are heavily into social media so when uh when that happened it’s um they said to me dad you got to put a video out and so they’re big into it and then I what do you mean what do you mean I didn’t even know what Tik Tok and Instagram was I I already did I was you know this is last July you know so careful planning um and heads that to how my daughter does her stuff what they do so it was careful planning actually picking what I wanted to do and I knew that there was a there was a room in the in the golf world for a caddy to maybe jump in because I wouldn’t want to be doing my golf swing and showing you how to hit a golf club because I’m not that good uh I play to a seven to nine handicap always uh I’ve been as low as a five and once in a while I can creep up and get to that you know that 10 cap I but I just I just enjoy it so what I did is I came up with this idea I went you know I think people really want to just have fun and so I went out and I did my first video uh asking somebody if I could cadd for him and you know I think I got three and a half million views in like eight days on that video that’s amazing and the power of social media yeah and I remember I was in my truck and I was down in a suici i it was golf I can’t and my daughter me and she goes dad like you got like one and a half million views in the last 18 whatever hours and I go is that good like I have no idea I had no idea and I probably said is that good for about three weeks because I think when I put my second video it came to like you know four million what and it surprised me so now I know how good that actually was right uh so were were you managing the social media or was your daughter looking after no no I they they just said put a video out and so I comment back to everybody I actually shoot all my videos uh I don’t have a videographer okay that I I basically shoot everything I learn everything is your phone just like you get back after playing golf and like can you just see like Instagram Tik Tok Tik Tok Tik Tok Instagram oh stupid like if I like today it’ll be it’ll be crazy on there right the comments and I honestly will get back to I just love the interaction I think that’s helps me drive where I’m at in in social media deal because if you think about it folks you know if I’m on there and I’m and I’m chatting with somebody and talking about how their day went or whatever it might be uh you know or answer a question that they have Instagram and Tik Tok love that because now you’re you’re back and forth and you know you’re keeping them on platforms and so it’s just fun and um I think that um um I think I kind of got lucky because it let’s call it luck I think just because it came out and did so well so quick um you did say careful planning though so like that was the idea is you thought about is this working in the golf space like is somebody doing this and nobody was doing that yeah and you brought something to the golf space that’s entertaining that nobody’s doing it’s like have you heard you’ve heard of Mac voucher oh yeah so Mac’s from he’s a good friend of the Pod he’s been on the podcast a few times and like um you know we started following Max page and one of the first times he came on the PO he had a couple thousand followers or something like that and then all of a sudden he’s just you know half a million almost now and it’s it’s he was delivering something to the golf space that and he says that a lot of people don’t realize Mac has like five professional wins he’s like a very good golfer calls himself washed up and stuff like that because he can hit a golf ball he knows he not going to play on the PGA tour and what he enjoys now is creating like his own version of his artistic piece on on the golf course which this is kind of the same for you and like what you’re adding in the golf space and and you’ve both done very good at you’ve both been very good at bringing something that others did not bring right I guess so I mean um I like the interaction and the and and watching the faces when somebody actually M makes that Putt and goes for a run because he just want himself a driver if he want himself a trip somewhere and whatnot so um that’s the best part of it because you actually get to see the people that you know win right another big part of it is I’ll call it it is that I’ve had some people reach out and I’ve actually gone to meet them um there was a young fell his name is Freddy he reached out to me he’s a 16year old kid in Spain and he reached out to me and we’re going back and forth and I always tell people whenever I’m talking to anybody of that age I need to before I start talking to you like I get the parents involved because you know I mean right I want to make sure that everything’s on the up and up and so um I started chatting with Freddy and Freddy says Jerry can you like I want you to come to Spain this is the last January I go well that’s that’s great for I mean yeah I can probably make it there let me just you know in somewhere in my travels I can make that right and he goes no I’m I’m not kidding here’s my mom she go he goes mom can Jerry come stay at our Villa in Spain I went and he go and she goes she grabbed the phone Jerry get over here you got to come she talks in this English she’s English SP so we went over so no actually what happened was is the next two days after that they had a trip I was in Florida and they had a trip to um Orlando plan okay so they landed in Orlando we ended up meeting them we went out to Denny’s for breast breakfast Believe It or Not Denny’s but it was fun it was good and we sat there and conversed and two weeks later we’re in Spain hanging out with this kid and just having a great time golfing in Spain meeting characters there and doing some shoots and and another one is this girl by name of Tilly her name’s she’s you’ve probably seen her in my videos she opened up she started following me she’s nine she was nine at the time and she can hear a go ball I mean if you watch the viit she’s just unbelievable um and so Tilly again the mom the dad back and forth with me well I went over and seen her in England she wanted me to caddy for her so bad okay so I like caddy for her and um so now this summer in three four weeks from now um I’ll be at the world juniors with her catting for her at the world juniors at the belfrey and I think Larn in Ireland so that and I’m doing that out of the goodness of what I you know I’m not charging or so I’m just going to have fun and um so it makes it good I think it’s just like so unique in the sense that you can be just a random person show up on a t block and like meet somebody for four to five hours and become good friends with them and have aong friend from them and we’ve done that through the podcast like right you’ve done that through your social media it’s really cool that golf has that connection right where everybody’s looking to do the same thing and we’re all kind of trying to usually get better at the sport or there’s things we want to work on or people might you know be fans of the pig and might be fans of Jared Carey but you know it’s kind of neat that we can all find a common ground in the golf space right which is Golf and we all enjoy it and that’s why we’re there right it’s one of the only Sports I think in my head that you know we all we all think we’re better we are in the game oh yeah and especially as a cad you see all the time most of us but yeah and so you know having those other people around and seeing that you know okay everybody’s the same we all hit it but we we’re not all the best doers and that’s the fun part is watching and seeing people with different styles of swings and everything else and it that’s what you know as a caddy uh and I have friends at caddy at I have friends at caddy at August National I have buddies that CAD at Kiwa I got buddies that cadd at Pebble and there’s always stories that come back and they always keep they filter back about this guy and this guy and what he did and this and you know caddies when they’re out there on uh looping for the day you gotta remember they have fun too so when there’s a group out there betting well they’re betting on their players right and and they’re kind of Silent bets you don’t see the caddies moving too much when you know there there’s a funny game actually that I think it was started like 20 years ago in Caddy worldway so if you if if if you can’t say anything it’s about picking it out of the hole right so the next guy to pick the ball up without putting it in the hole they they hold that so but you can’t say it to your player so four guys are going other guy don’t give it now man because now you know the caddies maybe have 100 or 200 bucks on the line about the last person to pick up to pick it up without putting a hole and you can see the caddies sometimes they play that a lot especially at resortes yeah gives them something to do while the players are of course doing their thing right of course that makes it fun right add a couple of bucks here and there in the course is never a bad idea nice to kind of hear that that happens you know on the other side too right on the car side of it you know well I mean they’re they’re in the game and I always tell this to anybody I meet the the has never caded before um I always say next time you’re out with your buddies right um and and the guys make a tea time show up without your golf clubs and look at the friend that you cherish the most and say hey I’m g a caddy today and I guarantee you if you do that you’ll have so much fun it is crazy how much fun that is because now you become team you know you look at the guys like you know look at the guys on the tour right yeah you you got to melt with the guy that you’re that you’re out there with right have to there are there are caddies that that don’t melt and are Advantage because you know there’s that clash between them maybe a little bit of you know this and this but they kind of work good against each other but most caddies want to get along with their player right of course yeah well there’s a lot of there’s got to be a lot of trust like and Gino were just talking about that how Joel has started to trust a lot more of Gino’s thoughts I guess within his game he’s watched Joel for so long right so yeah he’s been watching him for years and now he knows his game and it’s time to kind of put a little bit more trust in Gino to kind of Rite the ship at times if things are a little bit off or whatever May and those two guys are obviously I I think they were saying that Gino gets a shot get a shot a week like where he actually gets them in call okay so so if Joel says he goes like you know he can override him once a week right no matter what though okay so they there’s no oh hey you can’t so and the other guys are out here the other night like Dan and like you get one a week man you got like one a year right or something like that so so apparently that’s big because now there’s trust right putting all the trust in your CAD to to do that right um and I think if you’re ever out there and you’re spending a lot of money to play golf say you’re going to Pebble say you’re going wherever there’s Cades typically playing course that charges a lot or not a lot but you know it’s up to um listen to your caddy I don’t know how many times caddies you know they come off I’ll chat with them like the ocean course two buddies I have out there they go always they’re not enough club and then the guy says yeah I I always hit one I know you always do but here you don’t okay so let’s just make this work they’re they’re actually trying to get you a little round well because they’re I guess would you say when you start around with a new player so say I’m your CAD you and I have never met or sorry you’re my cadd you and I have never met are you kind of assessing like my game right% I I can tell just by the way you walk sometimes yeah like I get up I I tell you I hit well yeah I tell you 180 yard and like you know when I walk the like you definitely don’t hit yeah and if you do you You’ footed it and yeah it was a lot downhill and it ran and a that’s like that’s the but that’s the trust right so like if you’re GNA acquire a caddy like why not just trust them and tell tell them your real yardages and what he’ll do is the job of a caddy isn’t so much to read putt they read putts like on the tour you’re going to see that they help read puts but in the end the player the reason he’s on the PJ tour is because he can PT okay yeah of course so they know it you they you’ll probably get 15 20 30% Navy in a round where they actually ask for your advice and then you’ll see the caddy move in but a lot of the times the C the player you know he’s he gets reassured he goes you know give him a little nod it’s good yeah they both know it’s good because he’ll see the line that he’s putting right so so it’s just a a trust thing and it’s it makes it it makes it so good when you watch two guys Embrace at the end of of you know 72 holes uh kind of like Nick wasn’t Nick Taylor last year yeah and some of the caddies when you see these guys you know you remember man they’re making 10% so there’s a lot in the line well you think of like Ted Scott you think of back when hii won know it’s it’s your first point of contact after you win and that’s like the is obviously very invested player financially but also just that relationship seeing succeed right so like you said build partnership very professional most partnership definitely you know there’s an Integrity of the game that you know you have to know the rules too I mean if you’re going to be a cad P you better know the rules of course and when to take advantage of the rules when you can and discussing with your player There are rules that to your advantage the you know anding knows those takes care of those kind of knows them in and out yeah Jerry I want to take it back to social media for a bit um if we can and you know when you’re planning your videos and you’re piecing them together one of the things that I notic you’re giv away all these cool things how do you acquire these things for your prospective guests of your Channel well when I first started I was just giving out stuff on my own U because I thought it was cool and fun you know but then Brands kind of opened up to me so so to be honest with you I mean the brands uh love to give away stuff I mean that’s what they want people to wear their stuff they want people to carry the bag they want people to you know going to you know any any type of and when I say brand not just golf anything right now right so um a lot of these brands that I deal with um they basically give me a running table to say hey yeah go ahead and do it so I’m kind of careful there are some times when I’ll throw in a little extra um you know U I guess I’ve put myself in a position that you know the brands feel confident that Jerry K is going to give them a good experience and that they get to wear the shoes or they get to hit the irons like leol and and the guys that I do with are just incredible booya you know got some pretty exciting things coming up here in the next little bit when you say Brands okay I do have um I do have uh my own hats uh being actually they’re made I was wearing one on here the other day U my brand is actually GC 63 so I’ll let it spill right now GC 63 is Jerry kry 63 63 is a good number in golf and it was the Euros board so uh you’ll see the GC 633 limited edition hats coming you’ll see the limited edition booya GC 63 shirts coming uh I do have um a limited edition GC 63 golf shoes coming from Dua um I’ve designed them sat down color a whole deal uh and a big one is of because I’m a caddy and I love the greens and the putting and all that I worked with a I can’t I won’t say months but I worked with a really really good club designer um and again uh we designed a putter okay and uh you’re going to be able to buy the GC 63 putter it’s it’s coming it’s coming out um real shortly so um what I do with all my stuff though everything will be limited edition and the reason I want to do that is because you know I want to make sure whatever I sell is of one best quality the best bang for the buck for the people and for people that uh you know can’t afford it so much I’ll I’ll I work the price to make sure it’s all good for everybody and everything that I sell I’m working on with some sponsors right away here and and whatnot and uh I’m gonna actually give the charity a percentage of everything that that I have so if I sell a hat say for example let’s just say it’s $34.95 I’m giv $5 $4.95 to charity you know maybe FS of Honor I know there’s some caddy stuff but uh I just did a First Responders U charity tournament in Myrtle Beach uh I raised them like $4,000 and $3,500 in one day out of out of par3 so I want to give back of course so um and to the veterans you know and stuff like that I know we’re going over to watch the Canadian open shortly so we can kind of wrap it up I want to ask talking a l is that kind of you’re taking Jerry golf it’s unbelievable followers social media on your Instagram page like it’s it’s AB I think it’s 90 and6 170 on TI Tok whatever right so again to follow Jerry if you’re not already the links down in the show not Bel where are we bringing Jerry Car golf in the next you know six months year wherever we well you’ll see a lot of that brand stuff that I want to work with and I want to do giveaways and I want to caddy for I might change it up a little bit if you know somebody that you like to surprise for uh for a like maybe it’s maybe it’s a guy that has a um maybe it’s a guy that just needs it through his brother that’s you know just maybe gone through some tough times or or maybe it’s a first respond that maybe showed up and helped you when you needed something I would certainly just love to have them people reach out for me to CAD for yeah I’m already thinking like a bachelor party bachelor party be great yeah exactly another thing that we’re doing is I do have a new channel called reality and it’s reality sports and entertainment you got to check that out we show up at uh at golf courses baseball games hockey games uh we we actually just took somebody to The Rolling Stones in New York City last week we actually took someone for a helicopter ride around New York City and I’m walking up to random people in the street and taking me me me and there’s Five Guys involved in in in the team and uh we’re just gonna have fun man it’s gonna be crazy so we actually took two people to the to the old you just jumped into like social media feers feers like if you’re going to go go if if you think that you know careful planning I like careful now my dad always said to me you don’t have a plan it’s the plan to fail so don’t just think that you’re going to put a video and if it gets a million views that’s great but you want some interaction between you know Brands aren’t always looking at how many views you got your t r the whole deal I mean there’s a lot more to we know that too right we might have I don’t know how many follow have on Instagram stuff like that the amount of listeners and stuff that actually tun is a lot in comparon to like numbers and that retention what is why we’re able to connect so many people such good stuff maybe we connect you with Andrew I met Andrew at the PJ show last year he’s a guy good fun guy really good guy and they have really good stuff you can obviously go down belge um Jerry this is great man let’s go watch the let’s go watch the open let’s go hang who do you think it’s going to take like I’m a lefty so I’m not upset if Bobby Mack wins it but I would love my name’s Max I’d love to see Mac H I think I got two of the top you know two of the top players covered so I got Joel Damon and mckin we see Joel Damon would be a lot of fun that be that that be Jerry I really appreciate you taking the time I know this is incredibly busy but I second was blind I see it feel like it might be an scenario well guess what I mean hey reality came your guys’s way this week uh it’s funny uh the reaction I got when when you guys when I walked up and said hey can I take your tea time and then we end up at uh all kinds of places we end up uh playing golf together dinners together we got you a nice hotel room initially I had no idea what you were talking about so so you guys are from the okag and you’re out here on business and um it just ended up being this fun thing I’m glad that your wives and everybody said okay you guys could actually do this um because you know so tell us about the experience a bit um like was it fun did you have a great time what did what was it all about for you joh oh it’s totally surprising everything that was involved had no idea over the top yeah so I can’t believe everything you guys did just kept coming and coming and coming well we got into some pretty cool places at the open we actually got to get we got into the trophy the trophy deal there and and all the good sponsors that that came out felt a little special hanging out with Jerry Jerry well you know except you have to stop every minutes that’s a little Cy guy yeah it gets crazy Co it gets crazy but um but you guys now will become part of that so what’s gonna end up happening guys you guys are gonna end up going back home and you’re GNA have people that are going to see you because you’re going to be in our reality and and it’s going to be so fun we got a lot of good stuff that’s going to be just cool uh the vids that we’ve been taking all week with you guys uh you actually got to ride in a limo Mercedes do you think of that place up on the hill L up this wasn’t that crazy that was the Tamarac classic very very classic unbelievable prestigious it was apparently somebody owns that or 21 families own this place up here in Hamilton and it was just good it felt like driving into austa down that road it was beautiful Inc and um and so shots and and what did you think of the rink the rink was cool rink is awesome great IDE anybody doesn’t hockey ring set up in one of the holes and when you’re there you get to slap the boards and have fun and it was just such a good time and um I think maybe to make this real quick and end it good shot player of the week who did you enjoy watching hit the golf ball well I stood five from the door stop right I me he’s just crazy and what about you for me I’d say almost all of them I’ve never seen guys had golf balls like that’s a different world you play with me I know you played today and watch this I know he by the way guys exactly my point I mean I I am not that guy at all but I did hit a shot today here we go I think I had seven iron in I was 163 yards I think it was and I iuck three in I don’t remember actually I got to get theud not only CAD but yesterday when we were playing and you told me on the front line I played really bad and you just said I was stopping at the ball yeah I tried going through it and lowered it to 40 on the back yeah so there you go so that’s what good caddies do they they always helping it doesn’t matter if they’re playing or whatever and whatnot and um and uh I kind of CAD myself around today my putting’s been struggling I switched to my new GC 63 putter which is coming out you guys will see it I got it pretty good today so I just want to say thanks guys for coming out and uh I want to make sure you guys are having a safe trip back home and everything’s safe and I can’t wait to join you guys and play golf
