[Music] hi everybody Welcome to sa rugby magazine we looking at Wales versus South Africa two teams going in the opposite directions to say the least um Wales dismal during the Six Nations lost every game I believe yeah first time in 20 years Kev you know finishing bottom of the lock backto back back-to-back losses against uh Italy yeah so um yeah you could say riding on the back of South Africa being current World Cup champions four World Cups in the bag over the history and uh Wales are at a a very low web you know not only domestically but internationally um Gatlin is back um you know they’re on they’re on a they’re on a losing streak K and the fact is you know talking to some insiders they they they’ve forgotten how a win um you know and that’s that’s that’s a that’s a tough pill to swallow’ had a lot of EX top quality players yeah yeah listen and you know that’s called that’s natural science isn’t it you know um and maybe some of those players that we we might not reference but you kind of I you know World rugby understand alen wi so you know those guys should have maybe be moved on a lot earlier um and that was obviously in the malays of the previous coach Wayne PAC who who took over from Gatland after gatland’s kind of successful reign of of 11 years managing the team uh going forward I thought then would be the perfect moment to press reset and say we are in a rebuild even though that was kind of 18 months before the World Cup now I think the hand has been forced to Gatland now that that we’re in this position that The New Normal is um when you look at the 23 selected or the 30 five pool of players that are considered to be Welsh Internationals zeli knows very few of them you know and names are a little bit unfamiliar to me but this is the new normal we got to get used to that now um so it’s definitely a rebuild isn’t it it it is definitely a refill the the only confidence that I can that I can share with you is that over the last couple of weeks I’ve been fortunate to have a little bit of time with Neil Jenkins and Rob howy who were obviously integral in in the back room staff there they remain enthused and encouraged and as passionate as ever as they are because yes they are kind of long in the tooth than they’ve been around but they know what it takes to kind of get that wh Welsh team Fizz in and tick in so there are a lot of internal components that need to happen it’s not only just conditioning but I think the the biggest the Achilles heel we’ve seen on this losing strick is the is the lack of game Management in key moments that are really C cost them and of course has kind of has led them to lose you know compellingly yes and and if you look at you know when I look at being Welsh um to go from the 2019 World Cup where where I lost a bet and got a a springb tattoo um and but 1916 there was almost a few South Africans that got a Wells tattoo so to go from the 2019 sort of uh where we peaked and then we’re unlucky not to win that game I know I sound a bit Welsh but uh it was a good game good good semi-final we were in the semi-finals of the World Cup and three points and and losers by three points but since then you you had the pivac area which which to me was uh you know them losing Edwards to to to France um as a defensive uh coach because Wells were great defensively during during that era but they just they’re they’re young I can’t even name their players well if you go if you go back to 2011 where they were they were called the Young side but they were called like New Zealand be in New Zealand at the World Cup uh everyone thought they would go through to the final they were wanting that New Zealand one kick away from Wales kind of final but some really good players quality players uh led by walberton a young George North then 2015 there was a wobble but hell of a competitive at the World Cup against we lost a lot of talent in that World Cup and and basically you beat England in the in the league stage put them out of the their own world cup and it took a a brilliant brilliant bit of play from Dwayne fan at the back uh to force that extra space for Farid PRI to score in the corner and that took South Africa through to the semi-final uh I felt when PIV came in there was just this absolute confusion in style of play he had been successful at Club level he didn’t know whether to get rid of the alies bring in the new youngsters and and Gatlin coming back had come back off a very poor uh spell with the Chiefs and the Chiefs subsequent to that have been outstanding they’re playing in the final under Clayton McMillan and Gat than having this played six lost six and I I ched to Scotty about it uh yesterday is is there this expectation in Wales that Gatlin is once again the Savior but the Gatlin era has actually passed him by uh with this group of players uh Jack Morgan who’s so influential he’s not playing he’s pulled out of the the match and he was one of the bright Sparks through the is it like I’m going back to something because I just believe that it has to work with G but they should maybe have stuck with Pac or um no I can’t I I don’t I I um yeah I will agree with you K I think you know I at that moment the Welsh Rugby Union were faced with like a force majure moment is like oh [ __ ] what we need someone now we can’t go through another six months process of um interviewing candidates and so on because we need we need to put the plaster on now and I think it was you know it was the bet it was the decision made in the moment um without the liberty of forward thinking you know in the context of where do we want to be in five 10 years time so it is what it is um but but that said gatla now has to evolve as a coach himself because you can’t rest on The Laurels of what worked 10 years ago what worked 5 years ago because shifting it’s shifting and you need to find your own rhythm in it and yes you know he likes to get he likes to feel that his players are fit super fit but that is only one component of what makes an internation what makes an international team tick isn’t it you know you are a Col it’s an important one but you are the collective you know you can’t be physical without being fit you can’t make good decisions without being fit so that will obviously take be a huge you know primary objective uh for him but he hasn’t got a luxury of time now as you know they they play in Twickenham um this weekend and then they head off to um Australia for two tests and also pick up a Queensland Reds encounter on The Late Late week so you know the turnaround time now for Gatland is you know it it literally the players have to start listening to the direction the corporate Communications and they have to start delivering because there’s no more excuses anymore if you if you go back though two years two years ago we sat here and I ridiculed the wal team and they came to LOF is and were a kick away from winning and the next week they beat South Africa uh 312 In Bloom fantain now what is different zels to that South African Springbok mindset to the one that russy’s picked the 20 three players or run out the seven non-traveling players because we’ve been notoriously so start at South Africa in a test season yeah uh what dimension do you expect to see a twicken that we didn’t see two years ago when we were 183 down in the first half at loft is looking like we had never played yeah I think I think what um what what counts in wells’s favor this weekend I think they are deserved underdogs but what does count in their favor is there is a lack of continuity and cohesion in the springb team created by it being the season potential hangover from the World Cup and some new faces in the lineup that wouldn’t be there if this was a World Cup final and so I think there will be a little bit of ring rust and a few things that need to be ironed up to make the Box operate at their best um and I think we saw it in russy’s first test when they played at DC it was a reig team that Peter Ste the toy captained and uh it didn’t go away that day Peter St played Off the Bench in that Opening match against England very few of those players played that England series uh some of them grew into into the spring Bo World Cup winning Squad the side that he picked against Wales he made 133 changes for the blo fantaine test and they lost was like individually good players but’s always willing to experiment hasn’t it but when that’s that’s part of an evolution isn’t it not only within the squad but how you kind of want to see what the next six to 12 months looks like because you know that that second test was as you said you know you kinded oh this is a kind of springb banide and and you know they’ve got all cart plan to do what they want but they didn’t stick to what they were good at which was you know territory line possession you know catch and drive and that was their undoing that day but if you take the respect I think he shown this occasion is the side that he’s picked given he yes there’s certain players unavailable through injury about eight or nine but there’s five World Cup winning spring box that played in the final in the pack there’s eight in that s so where he’s picked to Jordan Hendrick at 10 uh he’s made sure he’s not going to play behind a pack that’s back pedaling uh he’s picked a very good tight five unit he’s integrated youngsters in there uh and kind of created an environment where they can only succeed as opposed to saying let’s see if you fail and I thought that was the blo one too many players were put in there with the potential of failing it’s a tough sorry sorry no no you go I was going to say talking to your point there about the forward dominance Jordan henricks are playing by a pack that’s winning I think that’s the key issue for Wales if you had to nail it down to one thing they just are not producing um the breakdown Thug the Destroyers they’ve got guys that are hearty that play above themselves the overachievers a little bloke who’s going to pinch the ball but Adam beard is the only guy that really stands out for me they haven’t replaced the sheriff at Hooker gu and Jenkins was a killer when he was around the Jones and Jones props um walberton was great I just don’t see that anymore in Welsh this is a new normal yeah and what we have on Saturday we have EV Evan etth turning out with 119 test appearances and you know my feeling about that nobody’s ever you know as a centurion nobody’s ever done it more consistently in my in my opinion he has more test appearances and experience than the whole number of pack test test players in in the Welsh pack so that says it you know that says a lot for me it is an embarrassment of riches when you look at the 23 the rassy’s pick you know because for me South African rugby at the moment and historically and there’s no reason to say that this is not going to continue it is like a conglomerate it is a production it’s like a Coca-Cola bottl imp plant they just keep chuning out developing and you know or a castle a castle so with that with that in mind you can see that now that rassie is back in the driving seat that maybe his there’s been a shift in his own thinking that you know it is about driving Excellence still it is about not only continuing um you know this this this winning run of theirs but it’s all about preparation for what is you know laid out as a very um exciting rugby championship and a and a winter of football that we have ahead of us so yeah which which is which is and it’s and it’s unfortunate that the Welsh team are not able to you know play at the Millennium Stadium this weekend because of of another kind of major economic thing with Taylor Swift being in in in Cardiff so you know they go to twicker um which is not necessarily a happy Hunting Ground to them they go to yeah they play in you know they play in England but it it’ll end up being a kind it’ll end up feeling like a home Hometown welcome for South Africa so the odds are stacked against them and of course the rhetoric this week is that we have nothing to lose and you know pride in the jersey and all that cuck you which I don’t believe in is that the the players now have to respect that you know there’s been a rich her you know Rich Heritage of rugby playing talent that have worn that Jersey before them and and hopefully to come and I and I hate using that anal it’s like you are the hero now you got to start delivering whatever the key messages are over the last two weeks as you’ve been tight in Camp you know you you you got to test yourself up against the best and there is no doubt the Box are the best in the business at the moment and will continue to be the best in the business yeah so this is this is a great test match there’s no doubt of course you kind of want to be leaving heo on Sunday night on that qf1 flight to to Sydney knowing that you know you you you did your best then it was and there there hopefully is a lot of good takeaways from your performance rather than it just be a blowout you know what would be a good result for Wales CU I think we when we give our scores we’re all going to predict a buck Victory what would be a good result for for the wells team and management go getting on that so if I isolated Kevin and I and I I talked earlier about game management obviously there’s Dan bigger not being available or retiring from the game has left a an unusual void for us considering that Welles has always had a if we had a production facility it was always used to produce good number 10 um and this has nothing to do with you know um Sam Sam Castell but kind of he is front and center the spotlight is on him on Saturday that’s the responsibility that comes with with in the Welsh number 10 J he doesn’t it so it is the decision making at a halfback and that can only be uh that can only be improved and excelled if you’re you know if you get some parody up front so again I using a you know a a word that is not really you know um doesn’t really instill confidence parity but you got you know they’ve got to get get some type of go forward ball the encouraging thing for me is that Owen Walkin and Mason Grady in in in the Midfield you know they’re big they’re big units you know there’s a there’s a level of production that um you’ve seen over the last couple of years certainly the emerence of of Mason Grady who has all the Hallmarks like a stew and mlock you know he’s a big unit so You’ got to utilize these these these individuals that can potentially start to you know um create some cracks through pressure in the in the in the South African defense and I think at back someone like Cameron win it you ask me you know who am I excited about I mean this guy yeah you know young diminutive but he’s got a beautiful flow to him and very safe under the high ball of course depending on the pressure but the fact is that he does like to Counterattack and can beat the first Defender so again if you can if you can if you can put a coherent um game plan together there is very simplistic and very basic um rather than trying to throw too much information onto the players is that you know just get get out there and and and play and play the percentages yeah what is your take away for South Africa from this test match uh because the the P perspective is there’s there’s no vly laroo or Damen Viner there’s no ctly arer K moody or chz and Colby Dam de land’s on the bench there’s no poot and there’s no leok it’s not the 18 backline so if you take a poot you take a vly Laro Damien V there’s incredible structure that they play with as well as within that framework they’re very exciting so that backline is very talented that’s that’s going out but it’s again a springbok barbarians the difference for me this time around is that pack is five World Cup winning spring box in it not Five Guys trying to make a World Cup side so I I think it’s good be pretty disjointed at times from the box I think you’re going to get a fussy who’s going to try and express himself you’re going to get Jordan Hendrick who’s going to want to show he belongs there Sasha when he comes on he’s going to play football but you’re going to see a lot of individual performances where I think the big Advantage is the pack will play as a collective and play with that cohesion knowing that there’s a few hungry boys playing a few hours later that made a big stapen last week especially among the loose forwards cam hom Mar farden Will performance at tight head to say we need a big performance against Wales to prepare us for the for the Irish test series cuz there’s nothing there’s nothing before that I go back to when we play Georgia I know we came out the pandemic and all that kind of stuff but again you looked at Team lineups and you think we should have smashed those guys but XY Z we also had a lot of individuals in that in that backline and where we’ve fallen short in the past no matter who coaches that box side you go back to that SAA um midweek matches when they lost two monser they lost two Bristol beay third team very good individual URC players but they just look clueless on the night so uh I think we all win what what what would be what would be a good acceptable performance for the box I guess asking Scott that for Wales what what what what would Rassy be pleased with I think he’d be pleased with uh cohesion more than anything else uh with his pack been in control for most of the game uh with a set piece functioning no injuries obviously with one or two of the new boys coming through and showing a bit of individual magic and that uh because Fitness uh concerns AP part Dandy will start against Island uh V Laro will start at fullback uh your win options may be different your your 10’s definitely going to be different so he’ll be looking at could these players step in but primarily you go back to the the strength of the World Cup the two packs the toughest the toughest of donum the toughest uh the toughest matches they had was a training when the two packs went at each other Liv scrums cuz they never used a machine uh so he he was going to say to the Vincent Cox of the world you’ve got an opportunity France mhab you need to take your game up a bit uh Ian’s leadership uh Peter Steph you got a great chance because you know SE will probably Captain them against uh against irand but there’s definitely talk of a phasing out of him especially if he continues to stay at russing and play there and then the big thing Malcolm marks hasn’t played uh a competitive game just just give me 20 minutes of malol marks and then pull him off please yeah you know so it’s they just need him to have a run because he’s definitely going to play in the Irish Series so I think if he can get Malcolm Marx through that he can say we were never panicked uh and these four guys slotted into a World Cup winning system uh but the Dynamics are so different to when they played at the principality Stadium they were on the on the rise uh to that World Cup and peing for that they’re right at the start of the next four year cycle we’re in a different cycle and I think you are answering that question what will he be happy with He he’ll be happy with a very dominant um pack performance and less is more when it comes to the offensive side that is halfbacks just control the game and they play they they they don’t overplay they just don’t don’t overplay their hand use the Straight running lines and the strengths that they have in the Midfield don’t over complicate the the Counterattack and play territory and just put all the onus on the opposition to play out and then sorry then also tiny Brown’s in and now I also feel a bit sorry for Tony Brown because people are expecting miracles from the first game and he’s going to be someone who’s going to evolve a backline that has to Peak in Australia in 2027 so that that that Evolution has to arue that they have to Peak against the the alls yeah completely and it’s not a revolution and he’s going to need time to work with players to bring in small nuances because we were so defensively orientated under Jac and successfully so but our attacking game wasn’t bad because of individual Brilliance but he’s going to bring a collective attacking game and that will depend on who’s playing at 10 who’s playing at 12 so I’ll be interested to see if there’s just a hint of anything there from him and I think you’ll see pretty much the same kind of defensive system because the flry having coached that monster with Russy and Jo naava well you know listening to the both of you give you your views this a very difficult game to to bet on because you know when you when you look at it from a handicapping point of view you take the history you look at the the Box on the rise whales going down or on the on the downward trajectory Z what is what’s what’s what is your what would be a good performance for you yeah I know I know that you know what’s your conspiracy I’ve stalked you I know all that stuff what are you asking me what what I well what would you think is a good performance for for the Box uh I think it’d be like sort of kpis performance kpis less than score kpis I think um the BBS are in the complete opposite situation to the the Welsh backs the Welsh backs are going to be trying to survive behind the losing pack and have a lot of pressure in their decision- making and the South African backs are on the completely different situation that in the sense that they’ve got a pack that can clean up for their mistakes so what Russy is going to be looking for is do they take uh Liberty from that or do they can they run the plan like they’re supposed to I think that’s what Russ’s going to look at there’s a couple of guys there who are very exciting but have the potential to go off map Off plan sometimes and I think russy’s going to say listen you guys are you know driving a Lamborghini here with this pack can you make good decisions don’t crash the car so um I think you’ll look at the decision- making specifically Among The Backs I expect them to do well they’ve got experience across the board up front and then you’ve got those two veteran centers yeah and fuff has been there and done that so if I was Wales I’d be looking to attack that back three I think the space between edell and fussy in communication and in Kick coverage is a place where you could potentially get the box dangle some baits and see whether they take it but it’s dangerous because FY can beat three people on his own you know so um I think it’s going to be a lot about decision- making for Russy I think obviously the Box must win and I think they will yeah but Russy is going to be looking at I think individual decision making primarily yeah there seems to be more play for the Box than than than than than a big victory and it always seems to be the case with with rassie and and he’s he’s strategically put in people that the crowd the fans of South African rugby have thought should be playing there to prove a point that that person shouldn’t be playing there and he’s done that a few times I don’t get that out of this game but what what would what would you say Scott is is your score for this game is it difficult to predict I I don’t think so I mean because you know when you look at the pieces and the weapons and you look at the the history of these encounters um sidebar 25 years ago to the day really when Wales beat South Africa for the first time in in a in a you know half-built um Millennium Stadium so you know is that going to resonate with them now this weekend as they go into this kind of quazi affair a away Affair against sou Africa in Twickenham so there there is nothing to lot we just got to see how much determination application and rugby um know how they’ve developed during this kind of small offseason period but there’s there’s nothing there’s nothing to suggest that with the talent on show you know in the bach Jersey that even even if they just stick in third gear and stay on message like like zel says um you know they’re going to be clear win clear winners I I think you should go into politics because I asked you for a score score all right score uh listen I I think this could be a blower certainly could be a blower um and I say that that you know we we’d all be disappointed if the Box didn’t score at least five tries you know in the first hour of the game wow so um you know wouldn’t you wouldn’t you say that absolutely cuz what did we say five five commity Tri 35 points that’s nothing for a quality side like we see that 23 there you know and whe and whether and I’ll come to the answer I will I come to the answer is whether is whether rassie uses the 80 minutes that he made strategic he makes strategic plays like bringing Mark marks off in the first half an hour you know Rel leav in some of the the back three or the Midfield just because it just has this Rich you know um powerful um bench and of course once the game once the game is broken in the bag at 50 or 55 minutes 60 minutes then you know you you never know what that out outcome is going to be like because you are playing up against a very inexperienced wellside who who have have a lot of injuries a lot of key pieces that have been either rested or not available so whilst this is in this kind of rebuild andam and aamit re and aamit Kansas City which is in Missouri by the way did you know that you told me about it I couldn’t believe it you know we go back to it I I think you know this is it’s just the unfortunate part of whether you know from a punditry or or or a perception perspective that um you know I think it’s going to be a be a blowout and I think this point spread is that I I I uh yeah I think if if Wills if Wills can not you know Notch up 2125 points I think it’s going to be enormous result for them yeah so so what’s the score 5021 thanks for of course he will have an edit no this this game reminds me uh if you go back to 96 and you played in that game Scotty uh a Sunday game and that was the famous quote from bullet on the way to the ground where you walked across to the to the ground back then and they were selling the Wales on Sunday paper and and the guy was screaming Wales whales on Sunday and he said China whales on any day the bo mentality back then but marov took that side and was a very good spring box side very settled and it was a well side with a sprinking of they had the likes of Scott there but they were starting to build into something the score was 3720 was a great afternoon good footy when you look at this wals side they are playing to be part of the fouryear cycle and to be competitive against Australia not NE no one’s expecting to go and win the series there or to beat the Box these are World Cup winners who have to now show that they’re not doubting their place for this year in the in the test series or in the rugby Championship they’ve they’ve got to show that they’ve just got to get through the 80 minutes and be ready for Island so I think you’ll see a frenzy hunger from Wales that you won’t necessarily see collectively from the spring box but I I I I would stay away from it in terms of picking a score because but you can you can’t cuz you just believe I’m going to give you a score but I’m going to say because this isn’t like we’re playing a World Cup semi-final it’s going to be 1960 whatever this is at 60 Minutes R he may pull seven BLS off cuz he’s seen enough so I don’t think there will be a blowout on Wales side I think they’ll be competitive but the Box will always be be a score two ahead so I’m seen a replica score line 3720 to the box but a comfortable 37 and there’s going to be a 20-minute period that the Box are going to look messy they’re going to look uh not disinterested but disjointed and Russ is going to say it’s great it’s humbled them uh they’ve got that World Cup uh winning final out of their system and look we’re not as good as you think you are and that reverse psychology for Ireland because his first thing that he said brilliant Bulls but I don’t think it’s going to be any easier for the spring box against Ireland because it’s a different coach it’s a different color jersey so this is just the and that’s that’s what I’m worried about Mark is is the is the interjection of of of personnel the subbing all this stuff that’s going to take place that we’re notoriously slow starter South Africa uh in in to start the season I’m just hoping we see him on the roof somewhere with doing something exactly what he going to start with so you said 3720 3720 to the boxer okay zel I’m going to give you a prediction Kev I’m a lot less worried about the changes and I’ll tell you why because this is the season for radio sfm Sasha is going to come off the bench and we’re going to be talking about isand series and we’re going to be saying where should this kid play against iseland this guy is going to take over this year it’s going to be a huge season for him and I think it starts this week when he comes on and so um I I think it’s going to be relatively comfortable for the box I think there will be some of those patches that Mark talks about where you go shees what are we doing yeah um but I’ve got the box to win this one 3615 so 21 so you got the spread is 192 which is a difficult spread because you’re looking at three converted tries to to you know to to win your bet it’s why they could go either way over there well yeah because if you get two converted with one unconverted that’s 19 so you’ve got three you got to lose by three converted tries um Scotty knows more about W rugby than than than you know I’ll ever know uh so I got to respect what Scotty says well you don’t have to respect it I mean you know like everything might might change now tomorrow but no the fact is the the Optics are the Optics as I mean this is you know this is the best 23 Gatlin can put out at the moment is it clearly the best 23 in in in in in the principality absolutely not just because of those missing pieces and so on so that that that’s why they it will feel a little bit disjointed when you’re up against such a such a well oiled jugernaut and and I love I love Mark’s use of the word frenzy because you will get a bit of a Welsh frenzy because they’ll be up for the game more than than the spring box I believe uh nothing to prove for the spring box they’ve won back-to-back World Cups um what score did you give 3615 36 15 20 you both Scotty and and you going over these guys are very I I’m putting I’m putting some separation between the you know the score line because I just I just feel it will be too much of an Ask with the inherent dysfunction that needs to be iron out that you know you can’t legislate for the Box you know put in three or four quick fire tries in just because of the individual Brilliance as long as they don’t overplay their hand but I think what you’re saying if Wales get 21 points which you said 5021 that’s a good that’s a good place to be to get on the plane we’re saying to the South African public if the Box don’t get 50 don’t be concerned it’s like they don’t need to get 50 in this match uh given what they want to achieve so look when you consider that I got married on a day where we lost 96 to 13 at lofas Wales South Africa always is a bit of a Thomas bug of that the guy that didn’t get on no no fly of Shame and all Thomas if a guy was put out to to to posture that was then yeah well I me but that was a guy that didn’t get on and and James Dalton said to him seat it was a seat and James Dalton looked at him with about two minutes to go and the Sony bloke could never got on and he said he said China how cck miss you be put if they don’t putting you on now6 what’s his name uh who was the the back bin Kevin no I don’t think it was Kevin bin I think I I think he moved on and it was Alec uh Alec Evans when he was an interim coach well whoever it was they said I’m not as sure listen they said when when did it go wrong and he said at kickoff you it’s I’m not going to put the I’m not putting any houses down on this bet but uh I like South Africa to to win by 20 or more um I I think that um the frenzy will be shortlived if there is a frenzy from from Wales and the talent and and the the the the forward the pack yeah it’s it’s not a game that I that that I fancy Wales going to break their six game losing streak certainly going to go to seven it could be 20 at a half time I think yeah voice of reason you know when you talk about the collective now you you you understand the numbers much better than than we do you know I I think there’s there’s a lot of great Insight from these two guys but I I I always you know I I’m leading with my heart here and and of course I want to see a performance I want to see I want to get some takeaways from it and that’s why I’m saying is that you know gosh they they have to put up you know an enormous fight to take on this kind of you know this this this immovable Force um and rassi I think is too intellectually cute from a psychological perspective to demand nothing more more than just 100% ferocity on Saturday with execution and like we got to take it to another level now guys and there’s no room for apathy otherwise you know you just get ticked off the off off off the list and we’ll move on to someone who wants it more just like you say we’ve got a conveyor belt of of of of talent um that that’s just producing such I mean as South African rugby ever been in a better position than than now no it’s the strongest ever been and I mean I also love the mentality which hasn’t changed over 6 years you know the acceptance of of of of this this team that’s Vibes and go [ __ ] them look it’s I don’t think you gave a prediction K I don’t think you gave a prediction um I’m going to go 535 spring box I thought you said 20 plus oh was more than 20 535 really yeah yeah and a Dr a drop goal the end of the game by so you think it’ll be close well it’s you know that’s uh that’s debatable it’ll be close for for what the team that Wales is putting out and the state of of Wells rugby it’s it’s uh 1. Guys, the boks very rarely bury minnow teams at the world cup the way a NZ does. Wales, inexperienced or not, is no minnow team. I reckon we will win but don't think we shoukd expect a SA vs Romania type of score. If the game becomes a struggle with people not gelling, they will revert to playing tight and make sure we win, meaning less expansive play and less points.

  2. Fans in the stadium will set the scene, looking forward to both national anthems being sung with passion and intensity. Hier kom die ding

  3. Gatland is a democratic coach … he listens to his assistance coaches and advisors so one needs to look at who he has surrounded himself with. And there's been very little change there, and indeed one of the few changes is a return to the hold after four years. Groupthink, methinks?

  4. The most difficult games are the ones where you underestimate your opponent. New combo's on the bok side, this had the potential to be a close game.

  5. Scott Gibbs shys away from the REAL reasons why Wales have no depth and players coming through.

This is due to the fact the Welsh Government have NO INTEREST in its National sports. 90% of all schools in Wales don't play sport.

The teachers refuse to give the kids the encouragement to play sport as they REFUSE to have spirt on a Saturday.

The Welsh govenrment have absolutely no interest in its youth and growing the NEXT generation of Welsh citizens.

There is a few very enthusiastic clubs and people but very few and far between.

And as for Welsh rugby Union. They run it like a sh1t show!!!!

  6. a lotta talking from Scott and the Money man, Please let Keo and Zels talk more! Bring back Keo and Zels show, that was essential viewing , highly informative and helluva funny!

  7. Every team in the world is building for 2027. It’s about driving excellence for sure. Looking forward to the growth in these moments

  9. Wales will shock the Springboks tomorrow. They may not win, but I think they will come close. It’s always difficult to know when to move old talent out and new in, but I have a feeling that some of SA’s old hands will be found out.

  10. “Gat”land is terrible and should be called out! Why is he considered anything other than a complainer 😮😮😮

  11. Most exciting thing for me is to see new blood so team organically evolves. Didn’t get that 2020 because of covid and then 2021 was straight into lions series with same guys.
New opportunities for some guys here

  12. Cannot believe how poor the production is on this for SA Rugby Mag. Lighting = rubbish. Studio = Dismal. Wardrobe = Non existent. Come on guys it's 2024, it's not hard, its not expensive.. Your presenters deserve more.

  13. As a Welshman, I think it’s going to be a wipeout. Very young inexperienced squad, lack of experience and confidence in key positions, players aren’t much to be excited about unfortunately. A few at club level I enjoy watching but not sure it’ll transfer on the international level. Severely lacking game managers, centres are quiet and do what they’re required, 10 I feel lacks the guidance from being around tested players in big games, had a few games in big games with big players at the ends of their careers though. But needed a few consistent seasons, of being told you’re the next man to wear this jersey, here’s how I play it and what I know. No real leaders in the team today
