what’s the plan what are we doing little practice round you and me we’re going to forget about anything else and just have fun today you [Music] know it’s actually really good for the first swing of the day that was pretty good man that was nice yeah hi I’m Patrick Rena I am here with one of the greatest golfers in the world Scotty Sheffer we are here ahead of The Travelers Championship a signature event and he’s going to show me his signature foot work yes sir if I keep my left foot planted then it doesn’t feel like I can turn through and if my right foot stays still I feel like I’m hanging on my back foot and so it’s really just a way to transfer energy from my back foot all the way to the front and like I remember practicing when I was a kid holding my finish yeah and so like when I finish my swing if I was balanced I’d have to stand like this for a couple seconds and watch the ball oh wow because I used to have a wild finish [Music] do people give you a hard time about this yeah like you can almost see like see the the foot kind of slide backwards I saw that I mean it’s signature that’s a positive you know my old roommates they used to make fun of me like a lot of guys will save shots with their hands as they swing through and they say that I kind of save them with my feet I never think about it like if you hadn’t pointed that out I would have never even noticed well this is obviously working for you all right your turn oh you gave me a PR what’s the handicap at these days look let’s just say I was at one point getting close close to single digits okay but that was a long time ago I’m probably like a 16 oh yeah that was nice all right you know what I’ll take it that was really good I’ve been working on the footwork I saw it I like it I want you to repeat what you just did I know but I feel like everyone’s watching like woo hey not bad do I really want to you know mess with that yeah that was I think you’re better than a 16 according to those two drop kind split the Fairway that was nice not bad it really was that was good those are the two best shots I’ve ever hit in my life this was your sixth appearance at The Travelers Championship fun fact never made the cut I missed it by one I think five times in a row we’ll make it this year no cut yes you will I’m incredibly excited to see what Connecticut looks like on a Saturday you’re going to win it win the whole thing I actually think it’s going to be a full uh full circle I am here with Max h I’m looking forward to uh seeing the signature roast I need to swing and you’re going to roast see your thing but I want a real rating too I I I’ll be like actually golf is hard man that is not bad you naturally have the baseball swing this maybe like a little league swing which is fitting but it’s good that was fine wait you I naturally have a little league yeah yeah I usually say baseball swing but for you I’ll say Little League it was fairly straight it wasn’t a lot of energy okay but I mean your driver does look like it’s from 1980s so it’s pretty I’m going to swing out of my shoes a I’m telling you the other ones are better before you got here I’ve heard that about a million times I will say I wish you did swing out of those shoes cuz those are not my favorite all right your turn let’s see it let’s see it like it’s going to be bad just look at me really quick before okay good I just want you to have this in your mind yeah it’s good am I hitting the fast ball a curve ball yeah I don’t know little slider let’s see it’s hard to critique when you’re 320 in the middle of the Fairway I would have liked to have seen 325 32 how about that there you go you did just have Scotty here so that’s always a Bader in the world what iron would you hit for seven wood it kind of equites to like a three iron it just kind of depends on the LOF that much yeah wow see I use my seven wood more for like my seven iron I do yeah I am here with Victor hland and you’re going to show me your signature shot which I’ve heard is a buttercut I’m playing wild the buttercut helps me uh really nicely the pen is slightly on the right side I’ll aim a little bit left the club going to exit more left and you need it to swing left to create that curve so that’s why I put it a little bit forward in my setup and then just swing and keep the face [Music] open all right little short I hit a little bit heavy but it did cut yeah it was pretty [Music] buttery that was nice that’s a little bigger curve I’ll take that that was a nice shot I’d take any one of those you you have a seven iron okay I have a five wood I just want them to know what we’re both hitting I call this the banana fade okay so I’m going to aim real left and uh just you know I’m going to let it rip yeah I just didn’t get the butter cut there I know what the problem is I am not used to being in the Fairway so please come with me to the RO so you started your career at Traveler championships right yeah some great memories there uh came out with Justin saw col morawa and played a lot of uh college golf against those guys and we all got to kind of play that week and just make some some great memories you know it’s actually a beautiful shot just a shame the the pin is over there instead of there but I got to go I got to go hey this was really nice you hit ball first you hit ball first I told you you did actually very honest I am here with Tommy Fleetwood we are here in a sand trap uh so you’re going to show me your signature shot which is a sand shot I mean obviously spend too much time in bunkers we have a little green to work with not a lot what do you hit with cuz I have a 56 is that enough so this uh 56 is enough really this is a [Music] 60 wow you seem to be really open this is what I like doing as a simple rule if you put a ball behind that golf ball and drew a line that’s where you want to strike in the sand oh see I hit the ball that’s the problem I thought that was going in okay so you have your shot if it’s not working out use my signature shot just talk me through it first start with it in your pocket in your pocket yeah and then you know what you could even say oh found it and as you say found it got it y got it great pull it out yeah no you had your instinct right pull it out as you say that see you’re a natural at this safe coming up all right I’m coming up now great watch out get a lot of sand yeah oh yeah wow yep how was that you’re a natural okay let’s hit one more oh I got [Music] it well thank you Tommy good luck out there if you have to be in a sand just do that it’s not that hard it’s not that hard is it no no at The Travelers Championship you didn’t have one three putt so I’m going to teach you how to three putt okay yeah which obviously is something you need to know cuz you don’t do it at all we here with the defending champ Keegan Bradley you’re going to show me your signature shot I think we all agree it’s putting and you have a special technique to read the green yeah so it’s called aim point so what you do is stand on the line and if you stand like this with your about shoulder width do you feel any weight on either side not really I don’t feel anything either i’ play that i’ play that very straight and then you come up here and now I feel on my right a little bit on my right so this is about a 1° slope so then you stand about a foot behind the ball you take your finger this part of your finger and put it right on the flag stick and that’s exactly where the brake will be very very straight putt too much too much I don’t know that’s what I’m talking about see I mean listen this is thanks to you at The Travelers Championship how did that feel like is there a Zone in golf like you were in the zone yeah that that week in particular I was so confident with the putter I was making everything yeah and not having a three putt I don’t know if I was the only one in the field to do that that week but I might have been and so that’s a big gain against all the guys that’s funny that we’re talking so much about three putts cuz that’s actually my signature put you showed me your Technique let me just show you the first one you just want to kind of knock it up there honestly you don’t even need to look you want to just knock it up there you might there you go you might think that this is almost a gimme right I don’t think this is a gimme for you but well for you wow I got Max hom out here uh it’s not about making it it’s just about getting it close cuz all you want is just the one foot the one foot PGA tap in this is nothing you know what I mean perfect perfect nice [Music]
