close to winning that game um but yeah no I’m not agreeing with the Joey answer his answer for that one was a lot more um you know you’re a lot more believable than the first one shie I bet you didn’t know this you you live in Queensland did you know that I didn’t know that you live in caring bar Queensland where he was born is that right caring about you is that right they find a way don’t they there’s a story behind it and and it goes was there ever a point where you could have chosen one over the other yeah oh absolutely and how how close was it well it wasn’t that close after I spoke to my mom my mom’s a born and bred queenslander and one of 13 kids so when I went back to Queensland as a 9-year-old and started playing rugby league up there and I paid for queens and through up more my junior career when I had the choice and I spoke to Mom Mom sort of broke down in tears and she was was so excited that I was going to be able to play for Queensland that it wasn’t really a choice to be made I you know she was the one that drove me to training watchh M Jerseys did all that stuff the old man was out drinking with his M so um yeah no it was it was an easy decision for me I’ll tell you a rare little fact here so your Old Coach Johnny Lang he played in the one year played for New South Wales and played for Queensland and played for Australia the great Johnny Lang I don’t know how it panned out that wave but that’s how it played out um more correspondence one lucky last one this from t- 45 and a bit of a hint to this question in his username there the 45 that was his Super League jersey number why was that given to you or was that a special no well it was sort of in the Michael Jordan era and I was a big fan of his and uh Richie Barnett who was the other Winger was a big fan of Michael Jordan as well and he was probably the more senior player to choose first he choose 20 he chose 23 so I chose 45 so we had both of his numbers what was the 45 when did he wear that was that when he came back after his dad went baseball B I think in baseball came back and Bo in uh and then he was playing like a bustard so he went back to 23 and end up well again that’s right yeah because they’re outside it’s third and plus is the full-time score in the capital North Queensland 34 Cameron 16 right boys plenty of origin stuff where are they at every year this time of year there’s a couple who Advance into the finals and going their merry way where do you think the Cowboys are at are they still a factor yeah I think they are you know they’ve got like we saw it down there in the nation’s capital they’ve got plenty of points in them they can they can put it together they’re a good outfit um it’s just going to be how they recover out of origin you got so many players involved um I was really surprised that they all backed up after origin one I thought toddy pton would give a few of them a rest didn’t do it uh that might come back to B him in you know 23 24 they they don’t have the luxury do they they I think it says a lot about where where their season is at it was almost on the we I think we might have been saying for a couple weeks this is do or die but we gave him a couple of weeks Grace um if it had have been a different story if the wind loss ratio was flipped surely put those blocks in the ice bath for the week but they didn’t have to so I think if there’s one team well the bunnies have started to go on a bit of a run now I don’t think they can make it starting from too far back but the Cowboys they could be 2024’s Newcastle Knights of last year they can easily go on a run so who you nervous about shy who who do you think falls out there’s usually two or three at this stage of the Year well there are some big teams that are that aren’t where they probably would like to be right now Broncos are one of them they they they sort of they just giving the field a little bit of a start and in a handicap race this is not what you want to be uh what you want to be doing I think they they’re giving away a lot of points to the Feld field so I don’t think they’ll drop out there’s far too much talent in that side re wal missed a bit of footy Adam Reynolds is going to come back at some point they’ll play finals but they’ve got a lot of work to do to make top four with so critical I haven’t got the Bronx making the top four I’m actually a little I’m actually a little bullish on the on the rabbits making a late run and getting and and putting him jumping into the eight SP they’re only two games out of the eight the only thing that I think is going to come back to kill them is at four and against yeah I can say cuz there is such a log Jam between that sort of six to goes to about 13 or 14 now I think there’s going to be teams tied on uh points and it’s going to come down to plus minus well one thing that I know about the rabbit is they can score points so they can that can change pretty quickly that’s true 40 odd the last Yeah couple of weeks couple of weeks yeah boys what about this so the Dolphins taking on the Melbourne storm now who would have thought come round 16 this would be a blockbuster this is a massive game I know there’s Stars missing here but two points up for grabs massive ramification when it comes to the minor Prem ship the top four Bennett versus Craig Bellamy it just goes to show doesn’t it boys uh the back office the coaching staff wherever you put them they’d make it work I’ve got no doubt about it that if Bellamy or Bennett went to another club with all their team and back staff that club would transform as well this is a massive game so important uh Trey Fuller comes back into the side he’s been a Handy Backup for the hammer who’s just wearing a cape at the moment toita pangi Jr if anyone’s gonna get him flying it would be Wayne Bennett Ryan pman Hasen comes back so there’s a big tick for Coach Bellamy and the crew that means will wri he’s back into the side he goes onto the wing and Su fongo goes onto the wing gentlemen how do you see this is that going to be a long-term play do you think him on a wing with Pat back in the side who who makes way obviously coach is going to come back in the side as far Longo keep a Wing Spot though well I couldn’t answer that shy because I played 51% of my career at fullback but a bloku knows all about the wing Scotty Satler says Wing is Matthew Rogers Well I I don’t think it’s going to suit him playing on the wing far longer I think I think but I think he’ll play uh a prettyy loose role on the wing I think we’ll see him Popp him up in the middle of the field quite a bit um hybrid role Blacklock certainly not the the sort of guy that’s going to be tearing you know out of dummy half into the the tooth the forward bringing it off that line he’s he’s just not big enough when they get hold of him they get a hold of him yeah and and today’s game so rat and I both little BLS at the time I’ve sort of evented since then but um but uh we were on the wing for a period of time and I I don’t know if we could the game’s changed a lot oh it’s changed a lot I mean you’d find a way Su you’re an athlete you’d find a way around I saw you with the golf club I thought you’ll be fine were you ringing wet when youing 83 was my heaviest what what do they what are they going around these days 90 to 100 at least um but man I was I was 70 when I started 70 kilo wow could do it today is the true about Preston Campell you play with Preston when won the delm is it true about him where he had to get to a certain weight so he hit a 5 kg weight on a weight belt just to get him over the line for the weight is that true yeah yeah oh me he he was mean I played with him at the Sharks and the Titans too yeah he was Tiny 65 kilo imagine having that problem sh where you had to he had to stuff weight in oh yeah good we’ll get to the Titans very very shortly to see what you think about Jaden Campbell playing six last week but for this one here rat um how do you see this one here I’m I’m K on the Dolphins and I’ll give my reasons a bit later how do you see it yeah now look I think Melbourne they starting to ramp up moving in the finals obviously they lose Harry Grant but you know they’ve got their General uh drone here in the middle of the field that’s going to control uh things papous and back I just think Melbourne storm might be a little bit too strong yeah they’re always a very scary proposition when you’re backing against them but I’m with you sh I can’t really get the line’s five and a half now it might get to six there’s a bit of juice in that Melbourne storm minus 5 half so if it gets to six I’ll be really Keen um the thing I didn’t really give um and this is great vision right now with st PL score try um last week for the fins against the Sharkies if you are watching but I gave the the the pack that they named last def fins it had Fel KUSI and Kenny bromich um starting in the front row I looked at that against the Sharky pack and thought they are going to get absolutely monstered the first 20 minutes of the game I couldn’t have been more wrong if I tried and they put points on quick the issue is they did concede a lot late and if the hammer doesn’t score this try I think the Sharkies are not only winning the game but looked like they were going to go on with it in a big way Hammer’s obviously out of the side Trey Fuller comes in he was electric the the first few times that we saw him um at the start of this year there’s just without Harry still no monster coats is still on out um or be only on a on a wing but they got I won’t say they got lucky last week but they’re up against 11 men for you know that eight or nine minutes it was uh the Warriors had two men down that’s a big leg up and the big turning point in that game was a penalty that Jerome Hugh got he’s a very very smart player he put the kick in and it was a a very slight touch and he went over got the penalty and they just went bang after that so I think the fins at home can keep this one very close still justifying his Warriors you’re like that attemp there was nothing nothing thinly veiled about that no um I’ll tell you why R I’m I’m a little bit keen on the Dolphins now stats and facts don’t have any feelings teams when they’re back to back on the road their numbers fall through the floor the last four games Melbourne storm have been on the road then on the road again back toback consecutive weeks they’ve lost all four and not even against the greatest opposition in the world so you go to Oakland you come back to Melbourne for part of the week and then you’re off to Brisbane I it’s it’s hard preparation so I’m going to go with Bennett SP to get a they’re going to be just toying with a mon a Premiership if they win this yeah well yes do you know what price they are that’s a question with that no that would that would have been big at the start of the year but M what they have is and this is very much about Bennett they have nearly every single player you guaranteed they’re going to play seven and a half to 8 and a half out of 10 with effort right so then it’s on you the opposition who’s on the road for the second week stop it to stop it yeah no no it’s it’s some good points here um and yeah like like I I did say this on our show last night one thing that you know about the Dolphins they’re going to come prepared they’re going to put it out on the field and and in the likes of like your Max Max Plus who I mean he’s got to be close to getting a call into the origin Squad doesn’t he like thereabouts he’s just been fantastic so they do have um yeah they’ve got it all there like the coaching you know the the playing group now um yeah I just think Melbourne um this time of the yeah they just seem to ramp things up a little bit Yeah radio team bring it in cuz I’m about to take you to downtown Flair this game here I can see it it’s the price woo let’s do this uh I’m is out suspended so there’s a key out uh for the Warriors cosy comes into the side but there’s no cap well there’s no Barnett um Dylan Walker comes into the second row too Harris who’s a key player for them gentlemen how do you see this one going R yeah look I big ask for the Titans um they had that little sort of six we period where they won a couple but the ones that they lost only lost by a couple of points but I know last week really hurt them that lost to to the Tigers how they bounce back after that uh interesting I know the Warriors will be Bly disappointed after they lost to Melbourne they want to back on the on the right foot so I’m going to tip the Warriors sh the uh they did win earlier in the year so the anomaly in the draw where you’re playing these teams twice but it was the AJ brimson show that particular afternoon he’s still the the number one key out for the Titans so far um this year they lose Mo foto as well there’s still a lot of outs to the Warriors and probably easier to make excuses for the Warriors if you didn’t know they were down to men in last week’s in last week’s match I think the the suitable game or the suitable part about this game for the Titans is Fast Track during the day if it does click they’ve got some fast men look at Kenny Jaden Campbell in the in the halves um just on Campell in the halves is that is he staying there when brimson back and is brim I think so I think brimson is the fullback I like brimson at fullback more than I like C and I like Campbell at six more than I like brimson at six okay um yeah I just think Jaden Campbell he wants to play there I think Bri wants to play fullback um so that that always helps when you got players in positions they want to be and uh yeah I just I just think he’s a better ball player than than AJ uh in the halves pedigree here he dead one a Premiership in the number six he did yeah I’m just I think the the only way I think the Titans can win this is in a bit of a shootout so I think we might just see a few points but again the Warriors are still there a lot of players a lot of key players there’s new combinations all over the park Roger comes back in but is he going to so he was playing Left Center at the start of the year he’s going to slot back in the left so the meain there’s a few different combination maybe on the right hand side of the field that the Titans can go after which is their hot Edge down the left so there there’re a sight I can’t get the line to um bigger than what it is I think it’s it’s like the first game it’s five and a half can you get the W to six point favorites in Australia I think it’s pretty tricky comp so tight they’re plotting goal coas are struggling yeah I know hey mdy um just quick one so Roger toas shik did the same thing as you went to to Union he comes back do you like him at Center and CH at full back or would you yeah no I do and and for for a couple of reasons one it’s it’s a good place to reimmerse yourself back into the game because it’s probably the easiest position to play on a football field if you’re an outside back Center a wing you’re making all sorts of decisions you having to cut the ball back and fullback you got to be everywhere it’s just a good place to reintegrate yourself back in um and he and he gets plenty of ball I mean he’s he’s going to get enough ball to to do some damage and his footwork is just phenomenal so um but but also I think Chan is a fantastic fullback so the reason you know it’s an easy integration you don’t want to upset the apple cart with What chan is doing there at fullback and I think it works really well the Warriors two points out of the eight at the moment now they’ve got the goal coast of course on the road then they’ve got the Broncos at home Bulldogs away Raiders away West tigers at home are they playing finals yeah I sort of put a line thr them earlier on the year I just sort of thought well they’re not going to play top four I sort of made that call before the season started I thought last year they had fantastic year but it was just you know didn’t they could back it up um I think I thought they they’d probably play finals but about a month ago I thought no I don’t think they can do it who who’s going to fall out for them to go in that’s a hard part this year it feels like more than any like people are throwing these names out oh they could play finals but for everyone going in someone’s going to come out that’s an even harder question to answer well okay stump up that’s fine who actually comes out it’s really really hard to land on well particularly where the Dolphins are at right now like nobody had had them in the eight I don’t think did they I think they were teetering around that middle middle pack but not going as well as what they are yeah take us to fille shy we’re going to fille and I know suar you’re on board with me in this in the theory behind this game the Titans leak the most tries through the center of the field more so than anyone in the NRL and on the flip side the Warriors love scoring tries and the number is inflated because of this bloke’s front row partner Andel black but I like Jackson Ford at just the bigger price I think AFB we might have just found him uh The Bookies and his price has taken a significant haircut so I’m just going the bigger option $6 going to play in that 55 60 Minutes on a on a a fast track could be a lot of points in the game that’s my flare okay let’s go to the roosters taking the bllogs they met each other in round five of the National Rugby League major upset it was Noah’s Arc Type stuff that particular day the Bulldog snuck out to a huge lead and then the roosters were mowing him down but just fell short now since then both teams have only lost three games so they’ve really clicked into gear after that so much at stake here this game is on the Central Coast at Industry Group Stadium The Roosters who would have planned for this Connor Watson who played a bit of New South Wales cup he is off to play for New South Wales forget about the cup bit he’s just got New South Wales all over him at the moment Collins is flying lindsy Collins he’s out Angus kryon has never played better football lenu they’re all out but for canbury and I just wonder whether was he dropped from 18th man Matty Burton or is are they being nice to the Bulldog Z to say we’ had 18th man Fair few times you can have him back for this one he’s going to be there but there is no Steven kryon the captain who’s airborne and uh key outs in the forwards as well Preston is out with injury and kicka we thought he might be back but he’s still out tpping and uh P pharmac coming to the side I think K might be on a extended bench and I think the when Caldo has done that they generally tend to tend to players that would be a huge in cuz they are really struggling um in the forward department now the Bulldogs but just with with that list of outs for the for the chooks number one in attack they can score Tri for fun but the Bulldogs this year their defense has been incredible I think they might be the number one or number two defensive team in the comp so they’ really found um something in defense which was their issue last year this is purely just a A plus and minus job of what I think this line would be full strength um minus all those CHS outs I know the the the doggies have got a few out as well but Matty Burton’s obviously the K if he wasn’t playing this game you’d be hitting the eject button quick smart but is I think they can keep us close yeah well my big in for well or and has been for the last couple weeks is Toby ston for the he’s been playing if he had another yard of pace he would be on the elite level of halfback like he he can create space he takes the ball to the line very well he’s got a beautiful passing game Titans are looking around for the receipt and well mate got away yeah I I’ll tell you and and you look at the roosters a lot of their points have come through all those guys that are out so coming up against the side that you know they can defend well um yeah I’m this is going to be a good game I think it’s going to be a very close game I don’t think there’s going to be as many points in it as what there would have been obviously with all those players that are out um yeah I’m going to tip the Bulldogs in in a tight one still yeah it is it’s a really tricky round for for titles because a few of these games and my best bet actually does feature a title um and it’s a little bit scary but there’s just so many different combinations it really can go one or two ways if if attacking combos can click um then they can put points on you know quick smart but then the flip side is also true so um very very tricky I’m with I’m just with the I’m with the Bulldogs at the start okay he of the brilliant bomb I’m talking about maty Burton Matthew Rogers where the hell has it been well it came out last week and they’re offside went higher than the stand I know but where where has it been before that why why they’re all about stats yes low percentage player you can’t not they’ rather and it’s very much coach zaldo he wants to put him in a corner play the long game don’t they yeah it’s it’s about stats and and when you do the numbers on those kicks that they actually aren’t as I mean it’s exciting but they don’t you don’t get the result that you think you’re going to get every time but it does frustrate you as a fan when you know he’s got it in his kit bag he doesn’t pull it out you want to see it it’s just he hit that one as I’ve seen him hit one last week against parah Clint gson didn’t get within four feet of it well you know what I did I actually um I went to the highest uh what do you call it hang time in the NFL and compared the time and I timed it on the stopwatch MADD Burton one of his bombs and his bombs were up there for longer admittedly it’s a different ball right it’s a different Ball but I’d love Spare Time get out more I’d love to see him have a crack with an NFL ball I don’t know if it’s easier harder whatever the case may be don’t tempt him don’t I think it would definitely be harder it’s a smaller ball yes so you know you got a smaller sweet harder to latch on to it um if you’re mty Berton and not Matty Rogers if you’re mty Burton and it was your choice to be the 18th man for the lose in this game at the MCG or be clear to play for can but you can’t do both what would you do if you Matt bton I’m I’m taking 18 man I mean there can be a someone can get knocked out look at Fel last week he’s in yeah um yeah now I’m I’m with the state of origin yeah you know the state of origin sh yes you didn’t play it don’t understand what it’s like no I I didn’t play it and I also didn’t uh I wasn’t born in New South Wales I tried to go the other way so I didn’t do that either I’m going to take you to FLV this time and I mentioned that since they met in round five both teams have only lost three games and they are getting beaten by a pimple so they are in the fight every conversation they’re having at the moment they are staying to the end of these dates so I just think either side to win by six points or less and you know why I like this bet because when you’re watching the footy if you’re a neutral whoever’s running second you’re going for all game so if you’re trailing by two the dogs you’re going for the dogs if they take the lead now you’re going for the roosters that’s the triet and there’s my flare Ville let’s go to the bunnies take taking on the seagull things have changed here both teams coming off a win courageous victory for Manley uh this game at aor stadium it’s not at four pins where they absolutely love playing J gray comes back into the side of course timely because Latrell Mitchell he’s wearing the sky blue Cameron Murray is also going to be in the sky blue hasn’t been there much anyway came back for one game but the key this is the game one of the games I sort of referring to this has had the absolute attacking guts just ripped out of it thanks to to origin a few injuries um as well I struggle to say where Manley with with so we’ve now got brooksie well there is a young halfback named on the extended bench he might come in but if it Brook if it’s Brooks and car La it surely can’t be but if it is we know Brookie couldn’t really do that that real sort of um manag him around the park job at West tigers and he’s been Unleashed at six now he has to go back to seven how’s that going to alter their attack and a little bit the same for the bunnies everything has been coming through Latrell he’s their sort of he’s their energy man when they’re up and about he’s up and about scoring tries so I struggle to see where a lot of points are coming from particularly for for Manley but I think last week might just catch up with them here only did they have one man on the bench at the end of that game somehow none somehow found a way to win I think might just catch up with him here so I’m leing for the bunnies yeah I’m definitely leaning towards the bunnies I don’t know you can feel the energy yeah it’s coming out of the bunnies right I mean as a as a fan and and when they’re confident and they’re playing good football they got plenty of points in them they’re up and about and I just yeah I can’t see them losing this game regardless of who they’ve got out there’s just a different energy coming out of uh the the rabbits and yeah I think they’re going to be too good for me I tell you what what I’m seeing with Ben Hy is a little bit of Wayne him and and you can understand why Wayne Bennett was so attracted to him as far as a captain proposition goes but I Reon you interviewed many people and said who won the 20110 Grand fin who was Captain I don’t think a lot of people would say Ben Hy he was the captain of that side but like Wayne Bennett um brevity when it comes to words he doesn’t say too much he’s an introvert and and I like what he said to the team he said um and he said this pretty publicly he said we’ve got the players so if we’ve got the attitude we’ve got the players we should be winning plenty of games and less is more yeah he’s too smart the old man isn’t he I’ve got the flare in this game sugar and I really struggle with it but with all those attacking players missing it’s a big total um so you’re getting a big price for the alternate it’s at night there potentially a bit of rain around I’m I’m I’m praying for Ati football and a real Dow Affair so if you if to of V Sheek and you liked him in the centers Tommy turbo when he comes back are you tempted to put him in the centers given the Run of injuries he’s had at fullback are you tempted well he’s certainly been able to perform at centers at this at the origin level I mean there’s no question he could do it but he’s the sort of guy that you want the ball in his hands more often than not so I mean if he’s in my what I’m putting him at fullback at fullback you I mean I’m I’m more and more buying into your Hybrid Theory every time I think about how does turbo comeback i’ I’d love it because you can you can get him the footy even with a number three or four on his back it doesn’t really matter we saw that game for the blues that that time in 21 I think it was where he just he was playing he was essentially a fullback the play two fullback I don’t think it’s not it possible does it does it give him more longevity or does it make him safer from injury cuz I think that’s the only reason you would do it maybe not in attack you still want him running 100 Mil hour I don’t think it’s going to make much of a difference it’s an interesting one uh this hybrid that we’ve been talking about Maddie is where you got teams like say Roger tasek and Chan Nel K or James Tesco and Joey Manu or in this case Tommy turbo and Garrick or n Cola or even Lee Hopper look really good I just feel like so taxing at fullback that when you’ve got those players who can do both I don’t think there’s a problem playing Joey Manu for half an hour at fullback or oh no absolutely or Roger at half an hour at fullback yeah we’ve always had in our mind that this is a number on your back that’s the position you play um and I think Billy Slater has talked about you know well we can just put a player on the field and just say do this or do that and you know we don’t have to put him in an assigned position we don’t have to run down the tram lines being a center on the right side Joey Mary plays a very loose center role like when he’s I like him at Center more than I like him at fullback when he’s at Center he’s still getting in the middle of the field and getting around and getting plenty of ball in his hands when he’s at fullback I feel I feel like it’s it’s he doesn’t he’s there he’s trying to do too much when he’s at full CU you think that’s his role where he’s it at Center it just looks more natural for him he scored a try in that in the hard left corner maybe a couple of couple weeks ago so he pops up every just these these absolute guns just give them the ball like it’s a it’s
