okay everybody let’s welcome Legion 13 we are joined by Kieran Vincent Terell Hatton our Captain John ROM and our hometown hero Caleb Sarat welcome guys I’m just going to go ahead the big elephant in the room John we’re g to start with you the obvious question how are you feeling and what can you tell us about your injury uh I’m feeling good I’m feeling good the the main reason for for the withw the the two events was um was the infection I had um and just to be precautionary towards now making it worse and seeing what steps I can take to to prevent that from happening in the future but uh the the wom’s still there uh I’m not going to show any graphic pictures but still there but it’s manageable now I’m not going to really make it worse so it’s just a lot of things to follow up from from what happened to to make sure it heals properly he doesn’t happen again so you feel ready to compete this week I feel ready to walk and head I haven’t been able to do much but yeah it doesn’t take much for me to to feel ready like feel ready to compete so looking forward to it just happy that I’m here happy to hear that so I just want to get reactions from Terell and John from Bryson’s win last week Terell will start with you I mean yeah it was it was very impressive um for me personally it was a pretty sad day for with my golf but um he he handled the the the situation really well and um it it was great for Liv that that Bryson went on to win and John what did you make of it I I thought it was uh it was quite a show from from the comfort of my home uh it’s a very enjoyable tournament to watch you know I haven’t gotten the chance to enjoy a major from start to finish like that and to to get to see a lot of golf was was really fun and and to see how everything unfolded you never want to see a great players making mistake a mistake at the end right whether it was Bryson’s three p and 15 or ran 16 but I do consider that Bryson might have that I could remember if it’s not the best up and down to win a major ever made it’s it’s got to be top three maybe out there with top Watson’s chipping at Pebble on 17 uh you know fills up and down at B stall on 18 that there obviously going to be a few others like chiping at austa but on 18 to actually have him to do it to win the tournament it’s got to be one of the best and with how he played on Sunday I thought he he showed a lot and how much has changed himself in the last few years and hear him talk about it was was quite inspiring right and I think it’s it’s great for for all of us and great for Liv go to to see him do that as well Karen we are halfway more than halfway through the season now can you talk a little bit about what this experience this year on live golf has been like for you and how it’s impacted your life and and your golf game um yeah I mean nothing short of awesome I mean it’s it’s pretty cool that you get us I never really sat in many press conferences let alone you know attended any of them and so now to be sitting on this side and sharing the stage with a bunch of you know pretty cool um guys with me I mean it’s you can’t ask for a better first couple of months here out on live and so yeah the first half of the season’s been great I think the guys have have put in some some good work and um I think we still have said that our our best golf was ahead of us and I still think that’s very true and so I’m excited to see what the rest of the season holds and obviously being able to do it alongside these guys is is always something so special so excited for the rest of the season you hi Caleb how’s it going so you attended the University of Tennessee and you are a current Knoxville resident yes ma’am this is a home game for you how excited are you to be here in Tennessee competing in front of your friends and family oh I’m ecstatic um I’m really it’s just going to be so cool like seeing a lot of the same faces I saw in college like all the all my friends asking me to try and get up tickets like it’s just going to be really cool to um look over and see uh See all my boys that have like really quite frankly been a huge role in me getting here um watching me and supporting me so so excited for that um I’m excited for the test this week I was I was telling somebody the other day it it feels like a home game but I’ve really only been on the golf course one time so so uh but it’s it’s pretty sweet place I’m it’s going to be an awesome week super excited think there’ll be a lot of Legion 13 fans out there this week I think there always is when you got this guy on your team but yeah it’s uh it’s going to be a uh I hope so and I think we’re in a good spot to start competing again and uh like he and said our best golfs ahead of us love it I’ll open it up to the media we start with you Mike so John first of all I wanted to ask you about the Olympics uh obviously the players came out on Monday uh just your thoughts uh going into the Olympics I think the last time you were there you beat tiger in singles if I recall uh just to kind of get your thoughts on the Olympics is is the full list of players who are playing out I I haven’t seen it sorry um you’re on it uh it was it was yeah and David so that that’s I thought you were getting to uh I mean David and I we we work out together a lot and and practice home together and he’s told me this been a goal of his to to make the Olympic team so it’s been in in my mind quite a bit and I think we knew while we were in Houston that I think it was Campo if he didn’t finish top 10 David was automatically in but compo finished high enough but then with Sebastian’s mistake on 18 they redid the calculations and I think I remember it was 0 Z three point difference and C was just a hit right so he went to the the US Open Now with an extra added pressure to make the cut to them be in the Olympics which it was such a big goal of his right so to to see him after shooting six over go on that Frid round and and get under par quickly and shoot low and make it was uh was quite fun it was really really fun to see and uh he actually played pretty good besides I mean on Sunday you have his best Sunday but it’s um he’s a great player and I’m looking forward to share the stage uh we’re going to a fantastic venue a great City a great Golf Course uh and a golf course where I think ter and I have some decently good memories maybe not of our golf but the rest of the team played pretty well uh so it’s it’s to me one of the better golf courses we we’ve played that I’ve played and uh a golf course that I’m looking forward to go back and hopefully be able to represent Spain the right way and earn a medal for the team and terl I just wanted to ask you about your season as a whole you’re the only player that has uh finished inside the point in every tournament how how would you evaluate your season on live so far um I’d say it’s been okay I I mean I’d have like to have given myself more opportunities to to try and win the tournament on Sunday um but that that hasn’t been the case um I feel like personally I’ve struggled a little bit with just my game not being quite where it needs to be um to compete and sort of grinding your way through each week and sort of just trying to finish as as high as you possibly can and to earn as many points as possible but um what we got six events six events left so still plenty of opportunities to to go out there and and play some good golf and maybe have a chance to win one of these thanks and then Caleb I got a question for you sir being the youngest player in the league do you feel like all the other guys have kind of taken you under their wing to a certain degree you obviously got some some lessons from Phil in Hong Kong and I’m sure some other guys have helped you out too how have you felt about how you know everybody else has has kind of treated you as as a young kid yeah I think um you know it’s kind of a it’s a double-edged sword cuz like you know I grew up you read like Phil Mickelson how to chip you know what I mean and now you’re sitting here getting lessons from Phil Mickelson it’s it’s pretty I mean it’s pretty cool like I think uh there has not been any players at all that haven’t really been extremely nice to me and taken me under their wing and I’m fortunate to be you know under John and T and under their kind of words of wisdom all the time is it’s vital for a young player to kind of and and a true blessing to be able to come up under something like that because I think I’ve learned in my four or five 5 months on live now like I fully believe what would have taken me many years like as a professional doing it on my own to to learn and um you know on the other side of it like I I feel like I can compete and I feel like I’m I’m good enough to be out here and I’m I’m excited to like feel like I’m in a spot to start going Head To Toe with a lot of the best players you know what I mean because um I want to take advantage of that knowledge it’s not just for fun so um I’m working hard and I’m trying to learn from the best and I’ve I I think I can confidently say that I am taking advantage of you know the resources of players out here um rather than just kind of putting my head down all the time so um it’s a blessing and I’m happy to be under these two especially because that’s uh I couldn’t imagine it any other way to be honest and for the other three just talking about Caleb what what you have seen this year his growth uh as a player and just uh as part of the team you know it’s uh he’s an extremely mature young man to be 20 years old 19 when we all met him right uh to have the the understanding of his game and the game in general that he has is just as a golfer he had barely left Tennessee a couple times in his life at that point right so uh and North Carolina because that’s really where he’s from but so there’s a lot of growing to do when you start traveling around the world and that’s that’s a big step to to take to professional golf is a lot more alone time than any other amateur golf you’ve dealt with so there’s got a lot of new experiences to deal with in what he’s saying you go from being around your teammates perhaps being the best around the people you play with in college golf tonight you’re put in in a world class stage with with worldclass players and major Champions is not only uh a bit of a reality check sometimes that that you may need that we all need at some point but it’s also a lot of new information that is coming to you that you need to learn how to process and that’s not easy to and I think he’s doing a great job and uh once he learns how to apply a lot of those things that he’s learning to his game I think we’re going to see a massive jump on on what he can do and we still haven’t seen what he can do right I mean we saw it on the last four holes in mayakoba and there’s been moments here and there uh but I can’t wait to actually see him put 54 holes together it’s going to be eye opening for a lot of people that haven’t seen it I feel like John’s answer pretty well I don’t know what else can really add to that to be honest Kieran anything to add not really no he’s he’s been pretty good so great teammate as well so John knocked it out the park there okay raise your hand we’ll bring mics over for for John um are you frustrated all for Bryson that the Olympics won’t be an opportunity for for him and can you as players use things like the Olympics or I know the next one’s not for the next for another four years but to move along maybe things with the with the agreement I mean I don’t know if I can be frustrated for Bryson I don’t know where he stands on the on the matter uh it is it I I I think it’s more of a question for the Americans in the room like would you want to have somebody like bring on the team right now or not right in my case is a competitor that week no but it doesn’t mean that the next ey isn’t going to be as good as Bryson I I think it’s getting to the point where you know we we hear the conversations between the tour and PF are going on I just I hope sooner than later there’s some sort of resolution to where this a way for the players here to earn their way into certain events like you can and pretty much every other tour right it’s a clear pathway I know live is a bit of a different league but the talent is there and that’s in my mind undeniable right so this should be a pathway for all of us to be able to earn certain points or our way into Majors radic up and so on uh John this is for you um you said you were at home watching the coverage uh I wonder if you enjoyed that at all or you know was there anything you took away from that with the Fan Experience in mind that you thought Liv is doing different or you know you would like to see change in watching from home I’m not sure I understand what you’re trying to say uh I mean I enjoyed I enjoyed watching golf yeah I mean I’m a big golf fan myself so well a lot of golf fans have issues with NBC in particular their production oh well I honestly this has been for a long time and I think it’s more because I’m in the situation I just golf from mute I don’t I I want to watch the shots and I don’t I try not to was it a bit of a I don’t know what the word is but to go from ABC to then NBC to then peacock to then back to the next thing yeah mean it should be can make it a little bit easier and it isn’t open after all just turn on one channel hopefully be able to watch a whole broadcast but uh I thought it was from what I the the times I had it on and I could hear I thought it was okay one of the things that absolutely burned me and I think I think it was Smiley who said it he severely underplayed how difficult Rory’s put on 18 was when he said it’s a left Center putt if you hit that part left Center and missed the hole you’re off the green because of how much slope there is I mean you could see Rory a in at least a cup left from 3 feet they severely underplate how difficult that PO was severely right so I think that can happen a few times where unless you’ve been there on the golf golf course and you’re playing it or you’ve played it it’s hard to truly explain how difficult the golf course can be and a lot of times they only have those five seconds to say something quickly right so also don’t blame him but um besides that I thought it was good yeah raise your hand over there yep John what have you seen of the course here and uh what what the next couple days for Preparation look like for you I think two of us up here have only seen the clubhouse so far so uh that right Terell yeah yeah so in my case today would be a day where I probably make a few more swings than I usually would on a Wednesday um just try to get up to speed don’t really I don’t really ever care how I hit a t green on on practice days to be fair because it doesn’t matter right I try to get the the speed and touch around the greens but seem I haven’t done as much as I would have liked home I probably need to make a few extra swings uh on the Range maybe on the course just to try to get my body up to speed as quick as possible this one’s for Caleb Caleb did you take uh the boys down to Broadway for a little celebratory welcome to Nashville kind of thing this weekend team bonding yeah well I can’t get in anywhere so it’s not really uh on my radar no um I I don’t know how to answer that I mean I I’ve I’ve actually only been to downtown one time so um no and all my boys get in later in the week um you know be a bunch of off the golf course hanging out and uh just trying to make it feel like home as much as possible you know like John said it’s hard going around the world like when you never have you know what I mean so a week like this especially like driving from Knoxville it just feels so much more comfortable for me you know what I mean it’s um it’s a lot more to what I’m used to so to have my friends around me it’s going to be awesome but to answer your question no I’ve uh I don’t have much access anywhere anyways so all right this is for um Terell you’re obviously a pretty electric personality you’re my son’s favorite player because he likes to watch you sometimes melt down and show it a little bit which we all do on the golf course so if if you had to make a Mount Rushmore of live golf players the mount Rush more of most electric players out here yourself would be on there who would be with you I don’t understand the did you say Mount Rush Oh Yeah I’m sorry I got to translate for so like what is that like the four it means TP four angriest players in live basically that’s what he means uh is that is that a correct pretty much yeah okay I that who else gets like really angry out here to be fair well yeah you you can I think it’s anybody with a Spanish passport has a claim so far there a couple I mean you just probably don’t want to name names you can say me but can’t we just put Terell four times over like different days there there’s historically some names that you can definitely but I don’t want to say it anyone else there’s one over there all right this one’s about the for Terell um you know obviously everybody here golf fans everywhere want John to be healthy and playing golf but but just looking at the bright side of things was it sort of an ideal scenario for you where John was not participating in last week’s major he had one less top competitor to focus on but then here he’s back this week to be on your team and playing here on the tour was there any sort of sunshine in that for you in uh sort of the situation and the way it played out um I I don’t think you can ever you wouldn’t ever like wish ill on someone you don’t want someone to miss a tournament because they’re injured or or anything like that so um no I mean i’ see her sympathy for John that he was having to miss you know pulling out of uh Houston round two and then missing the US Open which it’s the tournament that he’s won before um and with it being a major it’s it’s the type of event you you never want to miss so um yeah that that would be tough to take for John um but yeah certainly as a as a competitor like you don’t you don’t get any um you don’t have any good feelings that someone’s missing the tournament through injury or illness thank you anyone else okay I think Mike had one more I I did this was kind of uh based on something that Caleb said about getting words of wisdom uh Terell just kind of what kind of words oh here sorry was enjoying the TV sorry I’m just curious Terell what kind of words of wisdom are you teaching Caleb uh I think the biggest thing is trying to teach him how to pack a suitcase properly um that’s been quite a stressful process for the first seven events so um I think we’re getting there but I think it’s only because he’s been able to drive himself here um that he’s managed to hopefully pack everything that he was meant to pack this week say pack yeah I know there’s other people sitting here that did not pack everything they were supposed to this week yeah but when it’s your captain I’m always right so it doesn’t matter I I would be second on the team with forgetting shirts and belts and shorts yeah I mean that he’s definitely by far the worst I would be second not a close second I think there’s one more over there so I have to ask you’re in Nashville Caleb might have to help you on this do you have a favorite country artist that you’re hoping to see maybe out in the crowd this weekend is that all of us or yeah of you guys if you listen to country music I mean the concert’s GNA be great Dan Shay he’s probably never heard of Dan Shay but I’ve met I’ve met Shay yeah um I know I know Shay uh I haven’t met Dan but I know Dan and Sh you like tequil as well uh yeah great song it’s I’ve talked about this with Caleb because all he listens to his country and um even though I’ve been living in the US for a long time country something that’s really taken me a long time to get used to until a year ago uh Kelly played a Luke Holmes song for the first time and she always played it for the kids in bath time and sometimes it was too much of a background noise for me to realize and it was an e like I think after a Friday round or Saturday round where I played bad we’re in traffic it’s raining on the way back and uh beautiful crazy came on and a lot of what he says in the song It’s a lot of what me and the kids do in the morning so when he says her day starts with the coffee when I get the kids out of bed when I’m home and let sleep in a little bit K I would literally go to the coffee machine make the coffee with me and bring it to Kelly in bed so and then when it says and then day the wine Kelly and I would very often just have a glass of wine with dinner like many other people do right so a lot of the things that the song was saying I was like Kelly who is this like I was already emotional played a terrible day driving in traffic and I’m like who’s this man and obviously his voice is incredible and she started play more songs and I became a Luke Holmes fan I can’t say I’m a full-on country fan yet but Luke is somebody that that I really enjoy and especially his new album being very very relatable um saw him in concert about a month ago which was quite impressive I mean he he puts on a show so I know he won’t be around because I think his two-year-old’s turning older son is turning two years old this week but uh and to be honest probably too too big a country star to be walking around out there so but he would be my favorite to see out there Terell who are you hoping to see out there this week uh I mean I’m similar to John in a way like Luke Holmes would be my favorite country singer so um but yeah he’s he’s not going to be out there um I don’t know who else I would who else’s name I’d put forward Kieran I’ve actually seen Dan and Shane concert before so I guess seeing them a bit more up close CU I was up in the grand stand SS far back up there when I went and saw them so seeing that seeing them seeing them up close would be a little bit better um but yeah I like the rest Internationals on this team uh country music isn’t the The Sweet Spot for us so we’ll um we’re getting there though slowly but surely I gotta get him turned on to Zack Bryan That’s I’m the biggest Zack Bryan iard in the world so they don’t they don’t know who Zach briyan is he’s very good but I just can’t like I like like his talent is send the ey will I just can’t he really good but I I don’t know no comment it’s really good same with Oliver Anthony I mean they’re both incredible just well Zach if you’re listening come out and watch Caleb this week dream come true Welcome to Music City guys thank you so much and good luck this week John I hope you are in tip toop shape thanks guys thank you
